Today CRC classic hit block 199,000, from this point on the reward per block on GRC classic drops to 10 till the retirement of the GRC classic chain ~ 6 months from now.

If you notice when you do listitem cpid there is RAC and then a little lower there is "verifed RAC", the verfied RAC calculatoins takes a little longer, when that is updated you cpid will turn to valid and you will be good to go. So keep crunching and in 6-12h your verified RAC will update!

Pallas, traderman, thanks guys.
where i can see my rac? Command "listitem cpids" show me this: "RAC" : 6848.00000000. cpid is still invalid and BAM show that i have no team
PS: cpid in BAM and in wallet are different, is it norm?

844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: October 23, 2014, 12:13:54 PM
Once your Rac is above 100 it will be update itself and everything will work. It just says that because you have no RAC built up yet!

"Team" : "",

you should be in the gridcoin team

ok, now im in gridcoin team, but problem is not solved. what im see on bam`s account page  http://joxi.ru/XEA49Yp7SVR5rb

You need to have rac above 100 and it takes sometime for that to show up.

Something is wrong with my cpids..
For
Code:
"Project" : "world community grid"
i have
Code:
"Team" : ""
and
Code:
"Verified RAC" : "-1.00000000"
and

Code:
"Is my CPID Valid?" : "false"
"Errors" : "Team invalid"

But i'm in team "Gridcoin"

Also, are projects Milkyway@home and rosetta@home valid for Gridcoin? Looks like only this 2 projects in my account have positive RAC.
Thank you!

What is the RAC on your projects? can you list them?

When you signup with a boinc project through the boinc software use that particular email(same email for all project that you sign up with), that is all, you don't have to do anything else. The gridcoin wallet software can detect automatically how much credits you have for each project based on the email.

I am assuming you are running the POR GRC?
You have to edit your gridcoinresearch.conf in appdata/roaming/gridcoinresearch

email="your boinc email"
rpcport=9334
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
addnode=node.gridcoin.us

I downloaded the wallet but it is not doing the sync... I have to do some things before?

wallet is synced now...thanks

in the gridcoinresearch.conf my email is now listed.
I dont really understand how to add my projects in the gridcoinresearch.conf
what should I add to add malariacontrol.net

thx
does this take some time?
"All CPU Projects exhaustetd" is written.... Do I have to wait or do I have to do something.  Thx

I am not sure running a masternode on an Amazon server is a good idea!

WOW!!!

I just did a masternode count and got 1989 masternodes!  Camo must have got his up and running!  LOL.  Seriously though, that's HUGE!  More than doubling pre Onyx nodes!

This is making me nervous.

My masternode is down till I get things sorted out with Amazon.

Is there going to be a limit ? I heard 3000 talked about. Am I going to be shut out of future masternode participation because I didn't get my foot back in the door early enough ?...plus I've got another one to put up because I bought loads more DRK when the price was down at 0.003 a couple of months back.

FRIENDLY TIP!!!!

One of my rigs was getting many interest payments , but not many POR blocks and I could not figure out what the problem was. It turns out that I had Boinc installed in a different directory than the the default Boinc install dir. So if your Boinc is installed in a non-default dir you have to specify this in your gridcoinresearch.conf file.

boincappdir="where you installed Boinc"
boincdatadir="where the Boinc data fold is located"

After I made the change I started getting POR blocks. I think what is happening is that if the GRC wallet can't see your stats you are classified as an "INVESTOR" and you are only awarded the interest! So once you specify to the wallet where your Boinc data is, the wallet can then see your work and give you appropriate credit for the POR block!
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: October 22, 2014, 03:59:12 PM
Yep once you get some RAC above 100 it will pick it up and it will be ok!

I edited my previous post with some "listitem cpuids" results. Looks like e-mail and pathes to BOINC are correct, but, since i was away from BOINC for a while, my RAC is too low for now.
Is this reason for ""Is my CPID Valid?" : false," ?
853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: October 22, 2014, 03:23:40 PM
Looks like everything is working fine. Also if you have boinc installed in a non standard directory add these lines to you conf file:

boincappdir="where you installed boinc"
boincdatadir="where your boinc data dir is located"

TY, all for help!
So i converted most of my GRC into PoR GRC, started my BOINC with couple of projects (Asteroids, WCG, rosetta and LHC) and left it for the night. Now, after all GRC converted and BOINC running i have next picture in wallet :

and BOINC:

Is everything correct? What means that status "All CPU projects are exhausted"? How to check do i mining or not? TY!
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [CANN]Cannabis Coin Pre-Mine Transparency Discussion on: October 22, 2014, 03:19:45 PM
The fact that these coins existed and the private keys were on hand to access the wallets and finally "burn" is pretty damning!

The issue has been fully and verifiably resolved.

The coins are destroyed.

There is no need to continue spamming a huge graphic with scribblings all over it.

One wonders what you hope to accomplish by doing so.

Now you can go to your scamcoin Cannacoin,

where you came from  Roll Eyes

Yep, I was there when the Blackcoin pump was happening and after the initial crash everyone was talking about how it will come back and all that, but it never did. Just a slow and gradual flat line!

Lord this is hard to watch. Anyone in alts for longer thank 6 months will see the pattern. If this is your first big investment, beware, like your first time smoking weed.. This is not unique. Boom, bust, longgggg straight line. Know when to move on in life
856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: October 22, 2014, 02:15:35 PM
Step 1: Get Grc classic up and running and send the grc classic coins from the exchange to your wallet on your pc. http://download.gridcoin.us/download/gridcoin.msi

Step 2: Download and sync up the POR GRC wallet! http://http//download.gridcoin.us/download/downloadstake/GridcoinResearch.msi

Step 3: Burn your coins! http://pool.gridcoin.us/CoinExchange.aspx

Is there any Exchange for Gridcoin 2 ? Why isn't it again on Bittrex?

What is the progress here?

Classic gridcoin will most likely retire by the end of this week. Polo, C-cex and Swisscex will al stop trading Gridcoin classic by then. The ticker will change to GRCX.
These exchanges will all add Gridcoinresearch as soon as the client is stable enough to be released to them. Right now Rob is still working on a few tweaks, latest estimate I have seen is Friday. Obviously the client has to be absolutely stable to be released.
When this happens we can start tweeting Bittrex some more and launch a campaign to get us added. I have been tweeting them regularly over the last weeks just to get our name to stick.

Thanks ! Do I need to move my coins to burn or can I let them there and they get exchanged automatically?

You can still GPU hash on the old GRC chain, it has a 6 months till it is completely shut down, but the block reward drops to 10 after block 200,000 and right now it is on block 198489 according to http://explorer.gridcoin.us/

Ty, traderman! As always - fast and detailed response Wink
As i can see, there are no GPU mining now (scrypt/SHA-256 etc. mining i mean). So no need to configure cgminer or anything like that, i'm right? (i can't access wiki, sorry)
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: October 22, 2014, 01:08:31 PM
Just make sure you can get above RAC 100 on all of them. I have several rigs and I run about 5 projects per rig.

Can I join all of these projects?
And all of them will be rewarded?

860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: October 22, 2014, 01:06:56 PM
There will be a multipool system setup where you can mine other algo coins and exchange for POR GRC. We have been planning this for a long time now. There are many technical challenges that prevent the RAC as being used in the probability of finding blocks. That is why the RAC is used in determining the reward! If you have some ideas that you would like to see implemented you can post here: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1331-new-coin-launch-announcement-grc-gridcoin/

So PoR is just PoS with a reward based on boinc RAC? Correct?
That's not what I expected... RAC (or whatever boinc index) should determine the probability of mining a block, not the stakepower, IMHO.

No the payout is based on your BOINC contribution. Next to this there is also "normal" interest for those who do not run BOINC, which you will also receive if you are running it.

http://coinwiki.info/en/Proof-of-Research#Gridcoin-Research_Reward_Calculation_Example

That's what I was saying: RAC makes reward but I'm talking about the probability of finding blocks.
I can have a good RAC but not find any blocks because my stakeweight is low (as any newbie to the coin trying to mine it).
As someone has to provide trust in order to stay decentralized, we chose to let bagholders secure the network while BOINCers
are rewarded proportional to their useful computations.
Solving blocks is more frequent with growing stake, but the payout stays miniscule as long as you don't work for sience.
At the same time we boost new comers (i.e. low stakers) by a probability multiplier to favour them in earning their blocks!

I see.
But please understand that a newbie trying to get into the coin by mining will have a hard time if, like in my case, he mines for 2 weeks without getting a single coin. He'll go away and maybe post some bad words on the forums.
I believe the probability of finding a block should also depend on RAC or, as an alternative, you should build a pool system so newcomers can get even little rewards, without waiting weeks for their stake to grow.
