What is the best and trusted wallet for lots of altcoins?
Depending on a certain coin on which platform does it use.If Etherium based then myetherwallet would be the best choice since you can store most of those coins on that wallet and i do like its security there are lots of ways to access the wallet. Just choose a particular wallet on which that altcoin belong. Just remember to keep safe the most important informations of a certain web wallet/desktop wallet. |

that is a right decision. Litecoin is good and it has a potential to take the crowd. Bitcoin is too obsolete and its technology has not been improved yet. BItcoin will soon collapse and litecoin will be the next king of this hill Let’s not exaggerate, Litecoin is a good coin, but unless bitcoin disappears due to forks or something else then Litecoin has little chance of overtaking bitcoin on its own because, well, litecoin is basically bitcoin with segwit already activated, however as an investment there is no doubt that litecoin will keep rising in price and as such it is a good investment for all of those that want to diversify their portfolio. Agree, we should really be realistic in our claims and point of views. LTC is a good coin and it already starts too move its price but we cant really point out that it would definitely surpass bitcoin anytime soon. Even myself i do have LTC holdings but still holding as of now im not minding too much on how much would i earn. Diversifying is the best because it can really give you the opportunity to meke profits overtime depending on the coins that you had invested. |

More then 9 days gone since i submitted my ticket on etc deposit issue but till now i didn't received any etc even i have provided them tx details of all transactions.

You are not the only one since you are still lucky waiting for 9 days some do wait already for 45-55 days which is really insane considering that poloniex is a reputable site. I dont know why their support system do really suck on this time. If they did already fix loading issues then they should still maintain their support system because people will surely lost its interest on using it when it faces slow response on their service. |

Please be advised that Poloniex is not a web wallet or address changing service. When a customer deposits funds to their Poloniex account we assume they do so to trade on our platform. Continued use of your Poloniex account to deposit and withdraw funds without trading could lead to freezes and possible account closure.
There are a variety of other solutions for storing your coins. Check out local wallets or web wallets designed for handling such operations.

I didnt even read that on their ToS that using them as a wallet would really blocked your account. They do have a point and they have the rights but they should really announce it or make it clear into their potential users because it cant really be avoided on some people that they would use an exchanged for the sake on depositing and withdrawing funds. Just like what i did on coinbase until now i didnt experience any problems on it. |

You are not alone mate even I do seeing my portfolio are all in reds which it really hurts me a lot when i do anytime i see it. Sometimes things comes to my mind that i will sell already to cut loss but i would rather choose up on holding till the end and i do really love to gamble things thats why im still hodl as of now. I know its not an easy thing but we should really avoid on selling on loss. Better to wait even more since dump doesnt happen on forever. |

Seems like panic selling is on because of the upcoming even on this August. Seems like they do secure their stuffs before anything goes wrong after if there would be a split or not.Thats the thing which comes to my mind when i do see all in reds and also on bitcoins isnt on exception on such price decrease. Except most who bought AMD already got ROI. So they probably don't care about the declining DAG speeds. While the ones who bought the 1080Ti at $800 USD will start crying when that GPU is only pulling in $1/day. 800 day ROI.
even with the 1070 i still mine currently for ~ $ 5/day/card - the cards will be payed off soon and then i still have plenty of currencies to mine on profit  the 1080ti has roughly the same mining power per $ investment costs like 1070. I think you are overestimating the 1070 revenue. It is more like $2-3 per day. i think you mine the wrong coins  it just went down a bit since yesterday as BTC went down now but i expect that to go back latest beginning of august and till then i keep the BTC No, he didnt mine the wrong coin since we do have the same profits on daily basis which means the current payout for entire days would be on those range. It would really go even lower considering that the price of Bitcoin is slowly decreasing the same time on ETH too which means we can see the difference and this is the part of the risk when we do mining. Difficulties would really rise up just as expected but 25% jump up is really too big for me. |

Even when I use something like Veracrypt to encrypt my seed keys, I'm still worried about the security.
If the whole seed key is stored in its original format, all it potentially would take would be someone or malware to take a screenshot or keylog my computer, and they'd get access when I decrypt my Veracrypt drive.
I know hardware wallets are more secure, but when you're trading altcoins etc most of these can't be held on hardware wallets
I've been thinking of possibly saving half my seed key in one location, and half somewhere else.
However this causes the additional problems of more backups and more passwords to remember.
What are other peoples thoughts?
I just don't like having my whole seed stored in one location
If you are holding huge amounts on altcoin then it would really somehow give us chills on securing our keys because we are afraid on getting hacked and lose all those coins but its not really a big problem after all. If you do actively use those coins then hardware wallet would not be a best choice and you idea regarding on splitting them would do but you should really keep it on mind on where you do store it because once you lose the other half then say goodbye to your coins too. |

all these ICO and scam coins pay them to be listed on their website. and then when they die the exchange owner fires up the fake bots and fake pumps the coin while ignoring any order that a human makes and make money from anybody who is fool enough to buy it!
Very well said and thats how that Scam Exchange do work and since from the start i dont really join those ICO that they mention on their newsletters on emails because i do know what would be the ending on those people who do engage with it. Im once a victim on buying a shitcoin back in the past when im still a newbie and until now im still holding that shitcoin that its price didnt even move even 1 sats. Ridiculous. |

It looks like all altcoins dump 10-20%. What is the reason?  I am very sad  Theres nothing new about it buddy since those movements do commonly happen on cryptoworld which prices do really move on both ways either ups or downs and moving on a percentage on a single day is really possible thats why you shouldnt be shock after all. If you do decide to jump in on crypto then you should get used to it so that you wont be in doubt later on when you see moving prices ahead. |

I used to mine a while back and have two 2GB sapphire r9 270x, now I'm back and scrypt is all ASIC.... X11 is ASIC.... ETH can't be mined with 2GB cards.... most of the new ALTS I see being created are now ICOs on ETH and not mineable currencies... is there a list of coins still mineable with GPU?

When is then best time to buy bitcoin and when do you think is the best time to sell?
I think its a great time to buy now but when is a good time to sell (if you have any idea please share)
If you are planning on making investment for long term then this time would be the best time to buy even though its somehow expensive but still better because we can already see its potential on whats ahead on bitcoin but if you are just longing for short term profits then active buy and sell would be a tough thing for us traders and seeing on the current price its stabilizing between 2400-2500 and there is upcoming event on august 1 which we wont know if it would pump even more or make a dump on the price. |

using multiple address is useless they are all linked if in the same wallet, in fact i only use one now, privacy is still safe because the address it's not linked to your name you know
if you want real privacy you need to use a new wallet each time not creating a new address, it's also true that some hidden addresses are not showed in the explorer...
Im confused that those hidden addresses cant be detect by explorer. Are they mostly the newly created? which doesnt have much transactions which explorer cant detect. Multiple address on a same wallet is still fine since there are wallets that do have an option if you would like to link on a main wallet or create a new one which doesnt have relation on the main. |

Pretty sure the people with 1-2 gpus won't stop mining way after the large farms disassemble their rigs.
They are gamers primarily and they bought the GPUs for gaming and don't really care about ROI.
Agreed, we do have different interest some may mine for altcoins not for the sake of earning profits or reaching roi buy they do love to explore new things and feels this excitement as a hobby on mining them. 2 gpu wont really be sufficient if you are really putting up a serious goal on mining but still would do when you are just starting up to explore new things. |

Prices do really drops which is normal on cryptoworld we do see most reds and later on we do see mostly on green.Its just on alternate position no matter what would be the reason is since they are all volatile depending on the activity of its users and as of now i cant see any news related on going red on most coins.
It's really more surprising to see a hero member asking this "recurring" events in cryptoworld than seeing those red marks. But then, I am expecting a green marks as we approach the August 1 event. Maybe the OP is asking if there is a specific event that might affecting crypto's going red that he is not aware of. There's no negative news that's going around. People are just simply cashing it out or just waiting for Aug 1 to happen before investing again in the crypto's. And just like we preached, we really don't need to panic at this time and sell our reserves. We all know too well that crypto's specially bitcoin have the capability to bounce back.

Last few weeks I am very much busy in my real life businesses. So I am not getting much time to follow crypto world. I was feeling so tensed this evening when I saw the price of SiaCoin. Because few days ago I have invested some amount in SiaCoin. I also asked for suggestion in their official thread yesterday regarding the price drop. But today price dropped much more than yesterday. And then I noticed almost every coin in polo has a negative value... Almost all red.. Then I checked at coinmarketcap..... the result was same.. So I became curious to know what is happening exactly in crypto world...? Why almost all coins are red? So created this thread. I am just undecided what to do with SiaCoin.. Put more investment to recover the loss from previous investment or wait till August 1. Just trying to look for answer.. I hope no one minds that... @joshy23Thanks for understanding. Yes, i do understand your points since we do have our own busy life and we cant really know all things- sorry for that and it seems you do buy Siacoin on its pump which you can really think off on to sell those coins to cutlose and you entered to late on Sia. I'm sure there's a new thread every day asking which Alt-Coin is going to be the most profitable and what you should invest in today. That's all fine, I'm interested in that too. Today however I'd like to cast a wider net.
As a n0ob with cryptocurrencies, I'm convinced I'll make some errors and I'm sure there are things that I've misunderstood; Feel free to correct my if I mess things up.
From what I've seen, Bitcoin is without a doubt the dominant cryptocurrency out there. Bitcoin is also fairly slow and resource hungry. Bitcoin also has a cap at 21MBTC.
Could it be that Bitcoin will become the equivalent of digital gold?
Everyone recognizes gold as very valuable but it's not used for everyday transactions.
I've seen people describing LiteCoin and Etherium as digital "silver" if BTC is the digital gold.
But silver isn't used in everyday transactions either.
Is there a cryptocurrency out there that has what it takes to become the "digital dollar"? A cryptocurrency suitable for everyday transactions...
What makes it/them suitable?
IMHO the concept is a bit awkward.
The Dollar (and any other Fiat currency out there) is constantly being diluted with freshly printed Fiat, and that is the exact opposite of what we want from a cryptocurrency.
But if a currency only has a fixed amount of units, it'll be in a perpetual deflationary state, that's not necessarily a positive thing either.
When do bitcoin gained the title of being a digital gold? I cant really think of that this thing can be considered knowing that gold do have somehow a strong price it not too volatile unlike on bitcoin. If we are talking about US digital dollar then the thing comes to my mind if USDT and next is DigiByte. Seeing on peoples choices here we do have different views on this one. |

Just as expected on the field of trading there is no win-win situation here. If theres someone who make profits then its equal that there is one who are losing money too which means its all equal thats why its called trading on which do sellers and buyers doing a tug-of-war. Getting big amounts on trading is really possible but depending on your skills and knowledge on making good trades and it isnt really easy to learn that skill and it does really require much time in able to master it and the thing that make it hard for traders is the unpredictable market which is always a challenge for us.
