8502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is any coin still being mined with GPU other that ETH? on: July 08, 2017, 01:00:51 PM
I used to mine a while back and have two 2GB sapphire r9 270x, now I'm back and scrypt is all ASIC.... X11 is ASIC.... ETH can't be mined with 2GB cards.... most of the new ALTS I see being created are now ICOs on ETH and not mineable currencies... is there a list of coins still mineable with GPU?
Hi,

I would like to say that you GPU is quiet old already but it can still mine but expect to give very low mhs which would generate you very very small potential amount earning on mining alts however theres a calculator that i would give regarding on those coins that can be mine by GPU but i dont know which one would suits on your card to have the maximum profitability. https://www.coinwarz.com/calculators
8503  Economy / Economics / Re: When to buy and sell bitcoin on: July 08, 2017, 12:30:24 PM
When is then best time to buy bitcoin and when do you think is the best time to sell?
I think its a great time to buy now but when is a good time to sell (if you have any idea please share)
If you are planning on making investment for long term then this time would be the best time to buy even though its somehow expensive but still better because we can already see its potential on whats ahead on bitcoin but if you are just longing for short term profits then active buy and sell would be a tough thing for us traders and seeing on the current price its stabilizing between 2400-2500 and there is upcoming event on august 1 which we wont know if it would pump even more or make a dump on the price.
8504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What fee managment methods do you know? on: July 08, 2017, 05:49:58 AM
using multiple address is useless they are all linked if in the same wallet, in fact i only use one now, privacy is still safe because the address it's not linked to your name you know

if you want real privacy you need to use a new wallet each time not creating a new address, it's also true that some hidden addresses are not showed in the explorer...
Im confused that those hidden addresses cant be detect by explorer. Are they mostly the newly created? which doesnt have much transactions which explorer cant detect. Multiple address on a same wallet is still fine since there are wallets that do have an option if you would like to link on a main wallet or create a new one which doesnt have relation on the main.
8505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What if all plebs with 1-2 gpus stop mining? on: July 08, 2017, 03:54:33 AM
Pretty sure the people with 1-2 gpus won't stop mining way after the large farms disassemble their rigs.

They are gamers primarily and they bought the GPUs for gaming and don't really care about ROI.
Agreed, we do have different interest some may mine for altcoins not for the sake of earning profits or reaching roi buy they do love to explore new things and feels this excitement as a hobby on mining them.
2 gpu wont really be sufficient if you are really putting up a serious goal on mining but still would do when you are just starting up to explore new things.
8506  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why all the coins prices are dropping? on: July 08, 2017, 03:33:57 AM
Its quiet surprising for a Hero member do ask this thing when it comes to trading matter. Prices do really drops which is normal on cryptoworld we do see most reds and later on we do see mostly on green. Its just on alternate position no matter what would be the reason is since they are all volatile depending on the activity of its users and as of now i cant see any news related on going red on most coins.
It's really more surprising to see a hero member asking this "recurring" events in cryptoworld than seeing those red marks.
But then, I am expecting a green marks as we approach the August 1 event.

Maybe the OP is asking if there is a specific event that might affecting crypto's going red that he is not aware of. There's no negative news that's going around. People are just simply cashing it out or just waiting for Aug 1 to happen before investing again in the crypto's. And just like we preached, we really don't need to panic at this time and sell our reserves. We all know too well that crypto's specially bitcoin have the capability to bounce back.

@stomachgrowls
@xianbits

Nothing is surprising here... It is not compulsory to have all the news as a hero member. Though I became hero about 30-40 hrs ago.
Last few weeks I am very much busy in my real life businesses. So I am not getting much time to follow crypto world.

I was feeling so tensed this evening when I saw the price of SiaCoin. Because few days ago I have invested some amount in SiaCoin.
I also asked for suggestion in their official thread yesterday regarding the price drop. But today price dropped much more than yesterday.

And then I noticed almost every coin in polo has a negative value... Almost all red.. Then I checked at coinmarketcap..... the result was same..

So I became curious to know what is happening exactly in crypto world...? Why almost all coins are red? So created this thread.

I am just undecided what to do with SiaCoin..
Put more investment to recover the loss from previous investment or wait till August 1. Just trying to look for answer.. I hope no one minds that...  Wink

@joshy23
Thanks for understanding.

Yes, i do understand your points since we do have our own busy life and we cant really know all things- sorry for that and it seems you do buy Siacoin on its pump which you can really think off on to sell those coins to cutlose and you entered to late on Sia. Diversifying on cope uping the lose is a good move but we should still be careful to avoid more loss. If i were you buy after August 1 event.
8507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is digital gold, what will be the digital "dollar"? on: July 07, 2017, 01:37:13 PM
I'm sure there's a new thread every day asking which Alt-Coin is going to be the most profitable and what you should invest in today. That's all fine, I'm interested in that too. Today however I'd like to cast a wider net.
As a n0ob with cryptocurrencies, I'm convinced I'll make some errors and I'm sure there are things that I've misunderstood; Feel free to correct my if I mess things up.
From what I've seen, Bitcoin is without a doubt the dominant cryptocurrency out there. Bitcoin is also fairly slow and resource hungry. Bitcoin also has a cap at 21MBTC.
Could it be that Bitcoin will become the equivalent of digital gold?
Everyone recognizes gold as very valuable but it's not used for everyday transactions.
I've seen people describing LiteCoin and Etherium as digital "silver" if BTC is the digital gold.
But silver isn't used in everyday transactions either.
Is there a cryptocurrency out there that has what it takes to become the "digital dollar"? A cryptocurrency suitable for everyday transactions...
What makes it/them suitable?

IMHO the concept is a bit awkward.
The Dollar (and any other Fiat currency out there) is constantly being diluted with freshly printed Fiat, and that is the exact opposite of what we want from a cryptocurrency.
But if a currency only has a fixed amount of units, it'll be in a perpetual deflationary state, that's not necessarily a positive thing either.
When do bitcoin gained the title of being a digital gold? I cant really think of that this thing can be considered knowing that gold do have somehow a strong price it not too volatile unlike on bitcoin. If we are talking about US digital dollar then the thing comes to my mind if USDT and next is DigiByte. Seeing on peoples choices here we do have different views on this one.

What is happening in crypto world? Why all the coins prices are dropping?

Screenshot from polo

Also checked at coinmarketcap... First page is full of red..

Is there anything unexpected going on?

8509  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cryptocurrency trading for big profits on: July 07, 2017, 03:41:21 AM
Just as expected on the field of trading there is no win-win situation here. If theres someone who make profits then its equal that there is one who are losing money too which means its all equal thats why its called trading on which do sellers and buyers doing a tug-of-war. Getting big amounts on trading is really possible but depending on your skills and knowledge on making good trades and it isnt really easy to learn that skill and it does really require much time in able to master it and the thing that make it hard for traders is the unpredictable market which is always a challenge for us.
8510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I start mining with just one Gpu? on: July 07, 2017, 03:01:07 AM
I randomly bought a RX 470 4gb for gaming last year, and recently found out its been heavily used for mining.
I took an interest in altcoin trading and just all around learning about BTC/Cryptocurrencies a while back but never got into mining.
Was wondering if I can setup to start mining (even if for low profit) with just my normal PC/GPU and slowly work my way into more GPU's.
I might even be able to straight up buy another one with money I had saving for a better gaming pc anyways.
Its better to use that GPU solely on gaming because if you decide to mine using that then expect you wont able to run your gaming pc because it will surely hang up when you use it unless if you have a spare gpu and also its possible to start on just gpu but it would be a waste of time because the amount to gain isnt really worth on your gpu cost and together with electricity cost.
8511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest your money in Ico on: July 06, 2017, 08:00:36 AM
why not invest my money in ICO?
I already of then invest in ico and that very profitable. i like it

Don't get mistaken and extrapolate from this time period to the future. Currently, almost all tokens are profitable, call it a bubble or not but it won't last forever...

A lots of ICOs are profitable.
But the OP advice is good for 1 reason:

1. you invest in a profitable ICO (money+)
2. you invest in a profitable ICO (money++)
3. you invest in a profitable ICO (money+++)
4. you invest in a scam (money zero)

Investing is okay, but just don't fall in a mania that will make you lost everything.
The most common reason why do people tend to hop on ICO is on making money and theres only 1 reason why we do such thing but we should be keen on selecting knowing that there are lots of ico's out there we wont know whos legit or not and if you are a wise investor you will eventually identify which do have the potential or not. I usually checked first their whitepaper, roadmap developer transparency and lots of other stuffs needed to be known before putting money into them.
8512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you set up limits for yourself? on: July 06, 2017, 03:24:59 AM
Limitation on gambling is everything for which you would able to avoid unexpected bad things to happen ahead on playing gambling and we should strictly implement of follow this rules into ourselves so that we would lessen the risk on getting addicted to gambling because once addiction would overcome yourself its really hard to get out and you will surely suffer the consequences ahead.
8513  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitroyale.io || The Bitcoin Duelling Game! on: July 06, 2017, 02:44:55 AM
Interesting Idea for a new casino bitcoin game. but i was expecting some action as the time says duel, but when i try its just a five circles and players needs to have more reds than the house/player. but everything is smooth but the gameplay is too slow.

I too just tried a game with faucet money and can't get any other people to play with them so after few minutes switch to play with house and seed created almost instant but it shows the results, it takes few seconds to display those five colour circles. I think they need to make this part bit faster because many people don't want to wait so long to see the results. The different idea and looks good.
You would really need to wait for someone to join and if theres no other players then expect no one would able to duel with you. I havent tried to play the site but the way you mentioned about showing hash results do takes time isnt really good at all and as you said players dont really like to wait specially on this kind of fast paced games and as mentioned this ann thread is way too simple.

8515  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where should i invest 45 BTC risk free on: July 05, 2017, 03:22:49 PM
I have been buying bitcoin when the price was around 400$-450$.Most of my bitcoins are bought at that price around 40 BTC and remaining at less then 600$ price.i have been holding btc in paper wallet since then and already my stash in usd is 6 times.
here is one of my tx

what i want to know is please suggest some ways to invest my bitcoin at zero risk to earn some profit.Even 0.8% to 1% profit per month is good for me but it should be risk free.i don't mind the profit percentage but risk should not be there.if you have some suggestions please post that too,if i should keep holding for more years and if yes how long should i hold?
Theres no risk free on this world when you are pertaining on making investment and lucky for you that you did able to buy cheap coins wayback before which do already give you enourmous profits as of now on the current rate.If i were you if you dont like to risk on investment since that 0% risk doesnt really exist at all and even holding your bitcoin on paper wallet do still have some risk on losing it.
8516  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: btc crash now = TOP buying opportunity ? on: July 05, 2017, 02:29:26 PM
Btc price have been slowly recovering now which its price going back again on 2500 area which is good and seeing on the trend of the price when seeing the chart we are on uptrend which means the current price would be the best time to buy even more bitcoin. It cant still be sure because price crash would really happen anytime and thats the risk involve on buying bitcoin. Since its too volatile we cant still be sure.
8517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do i get free coins? on: July 05, 2017, 01:31:55 PM
Often see some bounty post, how can I do to get free and have the potential coins, for example, in the bittalkcoin this forum on their product post, what is the request for my account? Activity quantity
Depending on what they are offering. There are signature campaigns, social media campaign airdrops translations etc. Lots of ways on earning free coins depending on what they are offering that is why you should always keep an eye on new threads specially on new coins and talking about your rank some do accept jr. members which would qualify you. Good luck
8518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirmation became really fast, what has happened? on: July 05, 2017, 10:20:27 AM
Nowdays I've got used to the fact that bitcoin transactions were just hanging in the mempool for quite a long time, but today I just realized that something has happened.
I've started a transaction of 0,05 BTC (not a huge amount) with the possible lowest (and slowest) low-prio fee, and I thought that it will take days to get confirmed (or at least one day). The fee was about 0,0034... BTC (159 sat/byte).
In an hour (or less), it was confirmed, the first 4 confirmation was done in 15 minutes. I was totally surprised. I've checked the mempool later on, it has been settled, it seems. These are the first few weeks since the beginning of May when the mempool isn't full.
I don't know what has happened, but it seems promising. (Or not, if it's in connection with the August 1st deadline, but who knows... I don't, but if anybody knows, please help me to understand what is going on behing the scenes...)

That isn't a very low fee for the transaction you did mate. Moreover it is possible there may be no much congestion when you made the transaction, hence the reason why it was quite fast but all the same 0.0034 isn't a small transaction fees.
Its isnt really a small fee and i would still consider it as an expensive then you can really expect the confirmation would be more fast compared into lowered ones plus the network isnt congested and theres no spam attack on the network which means miners can easily solve blocks. You cant really compared the situation on having a congestion into none. The hype is over and we are going back to normal but still fees is quiet high still but much better than to its all time high.

Would like to ask on what exchange you do trade? Im not too familiar about Livecoin since im not trading it. Usually i do trade on poloniex im not sure if theres livecoin on there i havent still checked yet. Seeing on the fees its really ridiculous it will really hurt you up specially when you do actively buy and sell. If you are only gaining small profits then this fees would hurt you up.

I trade on Livecoin.net ... it's not a coin, it's a trading website like Poloniex...

I don't trade on Poloniex because their fee charges are much higher...So I wonder why many people trade their Roll Eyes

I know Gdax doesn't charge you AT ALL when you fill the buy/sell orders. But they only have 3 or 4 coins you can trade, that s&cks, because imo you can make more profit weigh Alt coins because there is more up and downs.

Oh my bad! Didnt know that exchange at all thats why i dont have any idea. lol. There are lots of people who do trade there because of the volume of the coins which do really like on most traders and i agree on what you said fees are high but wont be a hesitation if you do trade in volumes too. I havent see some exchange do have lots of coins to be traded with less fees that you seek. Sorry again for being ignorant on Livecoin exchange.  Wink
8520  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Exchange for day trade? on: July 04, 2017, 02:40:03 PM
What's cracking Crypto friends Grin

Recently I started to trade every day a little. I do this on Livecoin.
The thing is I don't know if I also lose on fee charges when the differance beteen buying and selling is little.

On LiveCoin you always pay 0.18% (It was 0.2) fee on trade (buy or sell).

This burns your little profits. I'm not sure but sometimes I think I lose more than I gain because of this d@mn commission.

So I was wondering:

- What's the best exchange to trade dailly?

- On what exchange do you guys trade and why?

- How to prevent the fee charges burning your profit when the difference is small between buying and selling?

Thanks. Grin
