861  Economy / Collectibles / Re: PHYSICAL COPY - A Complete Guide to Physical Bitcoins [6/25] reserved on: April 12, 2015, 08:45:24 PM
I think its only worth getting in physical form if its done professionally vs something I could photocopy myself.

It may be a challenge selling a physical version if the digital one is still free.

How about a ultra edition signed by many of the coin makers?  I collect autographs too, so it would be a perfect fit for me.

Thats a cool idea, but honestly the logistics of it are daunting. I dont know how many people would be that interested in the autographs, and there are a huge number of manufacturers to deal with. Im going to have to pass up on this suggestion, even though it would be sweet.

Will this be bound and stapled/glued like a real book with a soft cover?

Looking forward to this edition.  Feels like its been a long time in the making

Yes, It would be professionally done with a soft cover; no stapling color prints Tongue

It has been quite a while indeed; I meant to release everything in January but ive been too busy to get everything in order.

865  Bitcoin / Project Development / A Complete Guide to Physical Bitcoins - General discussion + crowdfunder on: April 12, 2015, 06:21:57 AM
EDITED July 6th 2015

After some deliberation, I have changed plans slightly.

As of now, I do not intend to post the entire book on-line for free.

I will be selling a small batch of pre-ordered physical copies, and some time after publication, I will offer the eBook version on Amazon and potentially other sites including my own (www.coinfirm.org). I have not yet determined the price at which these will sell. The book will have its own ISBN number, and be in all ways a legitimate, self published work.

Also, I will be cutting out 'ads' from the book. No more ads; this is a professional, specialized publication and not some magazine. If you would like to be a big-ticket sponsor, contact me as I may be able to offer a sponsorship to one single company.

I will, however be adding a coin information source and gallery to my website, but this will not come any-time soon. The reason for this change is twofold. Firstly, a website is a better medium to present the information. Secondly, this project has grown to be a much larger undertaking then originally planned; from a casual 'industry directory/magazine' type book a serious, academic work.

Perfect Bound, full color, shipping included*, signed, and numbered (up to 100 maximum) physical copies remain for sale as a pre-order at the price of 70 GBP.  Contact me to make a pre-order, or do so at https://www.startjoin.com/CoinFIRM2

There are NO plans to sell physical copies after publication, so this may be your only chance.

Hi guys how's your Node/NAS/NXT Shitcoin doing?

That moment you realise your coin is just one of many and isn't going to be creating any new economy anything soon. Lolololollolololol

I envy your free time. creating an account just to say comment about something you see as unimportant.
870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: (XEM) NEM Speculation thread on: March 31, 2015, 04:38:40 PM
Will sock stakes still be used to reward harvesters?

If I remember rightly 10% of the sock stakes go towards harvesters which should last for several years. I could be totally wrong though.

not harvesters, those running nodes (i think) the accounts that boot the node will get the reward but i could be wrong. asking now.

Interested to hear this also

Keep pulling on this thread and everyone will start putting you on their ignore list  Cheesy

874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Launch 31st March[Updates&Discussion] on: March 31, 2015, 02:37:20 PM
I have a question.

If 71% of 9,000,000,000 nem is going to the stakeholders, that's 6,390,000,000. Into how many parts is this then divided? My understanding was that the "final stakeholder list" is comprised of only about 1600 stakes after the sock puppet purges. If this number was divided by the 1600 stakes, we arrive at about 4,000,000 nem per stake, nearly twice what we are now being said (2,250,000). Can someone explain this in simple terms?
875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: (XEM) NEM Speculation thread on: March 31, 2015, 04:43:37 AM
Ok. 500 - 700 sat start price and 6th market place.

Pump pump up to 5000 sat Smiley

108MM $USD market cap.

seems reasonable.

Possible, but i dont have that high expectations at this point. but who knows the hype could take over.
876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: (XEM) NEM Speculation thread on: March 31, 2015, 03:42:22 AM
Been following from the beginning. I plan to cash out about a 30% into btc at around 10MM market cap. The other 30% ill cash out within a year or two if things go well, and the rest I hold long term.
877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - NEM is launching![Updates&Discussion] on: March 30, 2015, 03:40:12 AM

How do I get the cheapest coins?

Maybe by stealing them   Roll Eyes
Smiley

Can I pre-buy coins?

Can I buy coins on an exchange?
1. Nope.
2. I believe NEM will trade on many exchanges soon after launch... if anyone is selling that is Wink
878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - NEM is launching![Updates&Discussion] on: March 30, 2015, 02:07:58 AM
MARKET-CAP prediction for launch?  Tongue

Any takers? What would you guys say is LOW ESTIMATE? Let's see who is close in 48 hrs.
I will say 4 million.

> 10m with in the first 6 hours.

Entirely possible.

I think it is likely we will overtake #5 BitShares (16.5MM) in the next months, and also #4 Dash (24MM) eventually. However, then comes the real difficulty. Litecoin has been falling for a long time, and is becoming quickly irrelevant. If we overtake Litecoin (62MM), Then we will truly be 'making history', and from there we may see explosive growth that actually makes NEM relevant in the world of digital money.
