Firstly thankyou to OgNasty and Yankee for vouching for me, you guys rock. Hey fuckface, I don't have to prove anything to anyone. Let alone you. The people that know me ( chainsaw, blazedout419, Michail1, BigBitz, Goat, nightlowace, etc. ) know what I'm about and what I do. Furthermore I am more active in #bitcoin-otc than this forum peppered with trailer trash like you.
I find it highly suspicious he has so many silver redeemed 5BTC coins and has some fake stickers to go along with that. I want to know where those coins originated from. It's very suspicious. OgNasty would likely agree. Especially wrapped in the form of a roll. Most people that buy mike's coins don't go around peeling them. Also I find it funny that none of those coins have any traces of the peeled sticker. Usually you have some residue left behind. All of those seem spotless. Furthermore you registered in Jan 2014. I personally wouldn't trust anyone post october 2013. That's when BTC exploded, and that's when more scammers entered the arena to capitalize on the hype and higher value.
Its true that i registered fairly late, but as anyone can see from my history i have been a positive addition here. I also lurked long before registering, buying my first coins in February 2013. I also have dealt with your friends chainsaw, blazedout419, and nightlowace. You may not be aware, but Casascius did not put holograms on all of his 5btc coins. He sold several rolls of them called `roll your own` with which he included sheets of private laser-cut private keys and generic gold-tone stickers as you can see in this ridiculously overpriced ebay listing http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Casascius-RARE-factory-ROLL-YOUR-OWN-physical-no-dig-value-do-Lealana-bit-coin-/181411572581?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item2a3cf8eb65&_uhb=1Basically Casascius sold rolls of 40 blank 5btc coins along with the things pictures in that listing, so individuals could make their own Casascius coins (perhaps deciding to use their own private keys). Obviously, this means that these coins have never been `peeled` so there would be no remnants. that said, feel free to message me if/when you trust that this is the real thing and want to grab a few coins

I will verify these coins are legit. I purchased these coins straight from Casascius as blanks. They have been in my possession since 2012. I sold what i had left to elianite.
GLWS elianite.
Thanks tymm0, much appreciated!

why are the backs of the coins all busted up? they don't look "mint" to me. I'll offer you .015 BTC for 1. shipped.
I appreciate the offer, but its much too low. I took a photo of the back with flash (which will highlight scratches), right after taking those 2 off the roll carefully. They are certainly in 'mint' condition as they come straight from the 'casascius mint'; however he likely did not handle these the same way as his silver coins. I know that he did have them in large loose bags during production, which would create some scratching on most coins (which most visible of which would be covered by hologram)

I just said they look cheap, which they do.....excuse me for posting. I prefer to buy solid silver that looks like a bitcoin and at least at the end of the day is worth 1oz of silver. I don't get it, but I won't post in your thread anymore....have a good day.
my apologies for misunderstanding

They look cheap! I have messaged Bitmmarket in regards to his accusation that they are 'fake ass coins'. his only response (twice)has been essentially "why do you have so many...it suspicious because you have several" I stand by the authenticity of these coins. I have done a good amount of business on these forums, and I would not risk that reputation by selling something fake. I challenge anyone to make the case that these are not rare, original Cassacius coins exactly as I represent them. I acquired them through a private sale from a forum member registered mid 2011 (ith one of the most reputable forum members actin s escrow), who bought these right from Casascius. Can anyone vouch for these coin's authenticity so I can go on and not worry about people thinking I am scamming?

wow. fake ass coins.
please elaborate

May I ask where you found those holograms?
I bought these from another seller, who says the holograms came from eBay. They are quite generic, but are tamper resistant in a similar way as other holograms.

What am I looking at? Is it .999 gold? Weight? Excuse my ignorance, do you have a link that gives a little more information about the bar? gold plated alloy; gold value is basically none. 118g in weight. 79.5mm x 40mm x 5.8mm

Very nice and iconic coin. I the price is a bit high for me, but hopefully you find a buyer. this seems to be in great condition!.
|
|
|
Something sounds fishy here. Why exactly can't you post a picture of it here?
Because he doesn't have the coin in his possession, rather, he's acting as a middleman. Exactly. Like I said, I'm not moving forward without an escrow so security should be fine. Problem is you wont get a buyer without a photo to give an idea of condition; its crucial.

Essentially what I am trying to do is prove that bitcoin itself is secure but with tons of 3rd party applications, banks, online wallets etc etc makes bitcoin money insecure and worse off than actual regular fiat money.
So, you are trying to prove that Bitcoin is insecure and worse then normal money. That's fine, but why did you come to the Bitcoin forums to get help? That is basically like going to a church and asking people to help you prove that God does not exist. You came to the wrong neighborhood... Normally I'd just buy a partial bitcoin myself but I have moved over here from the US (chicago) and I am living off my savings from my previous job so I need to save money where i can. Would it be at all possible for anyone to donate even a micro part of a BC to my wallet? My dissertation ends August 18th and I can transfer the partial BC back to you if you would like after that.
"donate even a micro part of a BC"... let be be honest, you sound like you have no idea what your talking about. 1 Satoshi could be considered a 'micro part'; 1/100000000th of a bitcoin, yours for just 0.000006089 USD. Perhaps you are looking for a much bigger amount; say 1 million Satoshis; that will cost you a whole $6. I don't want a whole BC as that is IMO too much responsibility to hold on to for just a dissertation project BC tip jar - 12ApaRpAC449zqBJmPPNVzJ3TDu3w8Frvb
You got that part right. you can do tests with 10,000 'micro parts' just as easily as with 100,000,000 (one Bitcoin). the difference is that one is valued at 6 cents while the other is $600. As I said before I am willing to transfer the small amount back once I am done with my dissertation.
No need. I will send you 50000 Satoshi aka 500uBTC aka 0.5mBTC aka 0.0005 BTC aka 0.0000005kBTC as a stakeholder in the success of Bitcoin, I'm not exactly jumping at the opportunity to fund anti-bitcoin research here. I ask that you update me on your progress every month or so so I can make sure your work is presentable and actually based on fact. As to what ive read here, I really dont think your in the position to be writing a Masters Dissertation on this subject.

I do regret not buying one when I had the chance but BTC was a little tight. Maybe I'll wait till more people sell. I doubt many will be selling, especially for a lower price. There are tens of thousands of casascius coins made, but only 140 of these. Cryptolator is coming out with a copper (or brass?) version of the same coin, soon to be released in a larger run of 500. This will only increase the price of the original 140 silver rounds. The dollar value of these coins will not decrease, though their relative value to BTC may do so if there is a huge spike in Bitcoin value (If btc suddenly jumps to $4000, it is unlikely these will be worth 0.25/$1000)

Coin looks amazing, I don't have enough bitcoins to buy them now. How much is the silver value of these coins in dollars, for if one wishes to liquefy them some day?
20 bucks; but they will certainly go for more then that due to being rare and collectible.
