what are the unclaimed numbers?
I don't have a record of the following First Edition softcover's. 5, 31, 32, 42, 68, 70, 73, 74, 75, 76, 79, 81-83, 85-87, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95. A few of them might even lay forgotten in my bookcase. They are somewhere, so if you have one, speak or forever hold your peace. I won't be assigning specific numbers to anyone on the waitlist just yet, and more numbers will become available especially after 2 weeks. Low numbers will likely be auctioned. update: 11 of them are already found! I may be able to offer non-numbered copies to those who miss out on the 121, but these will certainly be phased out upon official publication which will happen in late summer or early fall.

I've now messaged everyone who bought the numbered softcover FIRST PRINT's and hardcover AUTOGRAPHS EDITION's directly from me via the forum. If you have a numbered FIRST PRINT and did not receive a message (and did not chat with me about it already), MESSAGE ME ASAP so that I can assign you your number. There is a growing waitlist, and in a week or so I will start assigning the 'unclaimed' numbers to them at which point you will be out of luck. There are up to ~25 'unclaimed' numbers; many of these ended up being sold at conferences or distributors or were given as gifts.
If you want to get on the waitlist, PM me.

Bitcoin / Project Development / New Book: 'BLOCKLAND: 21 Stories of Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Crypto-Currency'

Pre-launch & Project development thread/blog Presenting: BLOCKLAND: 21 Stories of Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Crypto-CurrencyThis book is an attempt to broadly tell the story: the origin, history, culture, legends, and anecdotes, of the entire cryptocurrency industry. The book’s ~400 pages, 145 sections, and 21 chapters examine different facets of the Bitcoin and blockchain phenomenon. Much of this includes the history and happenings of this very forum. The misfit innovators, the wild stories, the scams, and all the many things that are real yet read like fiction. There are over 200 characters and 500 citations. After a year of full-time writing and research, it is in the final pre-publishing stages. This is my life's work. Over five years ago in 2015, I announced pre-orders on this forum for the Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoin and Crypto-Currency, which explored the meaning behind the art and imagery of 'physical bitcoins' which originally served as gimmicks to help people understand Bitcoin. Project Status:The book itself is done. It is now on the 3rd round of copy-editing. Yesterday I added the Introduction and Table of Contents to my website www.cryptonumist.com/blocklandThe cover design will be released shortly I'm about halfway through the process of contacting/trying to contact 200 people who are mentioned in the book, so they can point out errors I'm 1/3rd done with properly formatting ~500 citations Ways you can helpBeta-reading Anything related to marketing, promotion, affiliates Potential Podcast/interview opportunities Reviews more.. just PM me BLOCKLAND will be going on sale soon. Shipping is anticipated in late July. If you want updates, watch this thread and/or subscribe to the newsletter on my website, linked above.

What I'm now leaning towards is making the FIRST PRINT EDITION special and unique by printing it as a large hardcover in the same size/style as the newer Encylopedia (8.5x11 inches). Strictly limited to 121, priced in the same range as the Encylopedia.
The mass-market copies, which will be priced lower, will be a standard size at maybe 5.5x8.5.
I plan to offer these numbered books firstly to those who purchased the First Print Edition of the Encyclopedia back in 2016, giving them the opportunity to buy this in the same serial number. The same goes for 2017 buyers of the Autographs Edition. There will likely be some leftovers, as many users who pre-ordered the first Encylopedia are no longer active on the forum. Perhaps the lowest 5 or so will be auctioned here later on.
Note that this is not yet final.
The cover design will be posted soon.

could you please elaborate about the part "They will be individually numbered and digitally signed" (concerning the First Print Edition II hardcover books)
those will not be hand-numbered & hand signed?
I plan to have each book come with a unique 1st page after the cover that has a number as well as a signature. This might even include a personal message. These would be printed on, and the signature would come from the pen on my Samsung Note8. Part of the reason for this is that global supply chains are and will likely continue to be clogged up, making it rather impractical for me to sign and ship a bunch of books in person as I'm in Europe currently. It was quite a mess when I did that with the 1st book, and a few ended up getting lost. also, I am not quite sure if I understood this correctly. Will there be a "First Print Edition I" of your new book, or the title is just a continuation of the ‘First Print Edition’ of the encyclopedia?
The 'II' is in reference to the fact that I released a 'First Print Edition' of Enclyclopedia of Physical Bitcoin & Cryptcurrency back in 2016, so it is in fact my 2nd time creating such a '1st print' (albeit for entirely different books). Maybe its not that clever, and I should just call it 'First Print Edition'. We will see.

Well, Pre-launch. [drumroll] Presenting: BLOCKLAND: 21 Stories of Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Crypto-CurrencyAuthor Bio, Table of Contents, and Introduction available at www.cryptonumist.com/blocklandThis book is an attempt to broadly tell the story: the origin, history, culture, legends, and anecdotes, of the entire cryptocurrency industry. The book’s 400 pages, 145 sections, and 21 chapters examine different facets of the blockchain phenomenon. Much of this includes the history and happenings of this very forum. After a year of full-time writing and research, it is in the final pre-publishing stages. This is my life's work. Over five years ago in 2015, I announced pre-orders on this forum for the Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoin and Crypto-Currency, my first book. This consisted of 100 numbered ‘First Print Edition’ books, which helped me cover the expenses to bring the book to reality. The next year an additional 20 ‘Signature Edition’ hardcovers were sold. Its time to renew the tradition. In keeping with tradition, I am making available some ‘First Print Edition II’ hardcover books. They will be individually numbered and digitally signed. My intention is to ship these out several weeks before the official launch of the book. It is likely that this ‘pre-publish’ edition will be slightly different (and thus unique) than the final mass-market product. Anticipated shipping date: July Watch this thread for updates.

Economy / Collectibles / Re: 3x Leveraged Physical Coins - Idea

It's not margin, but it 'feels' like a margin position from the perspective of a holder. This explains it: https://help.ftx.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032509552-Leveraged-Token-WalkthroughI'm not by any means saying these tokens are perfect or can't fail, but I do see an interesting opportunity for some experimentation. I have not yet looked into the deeper details of the smart contract, nor am I qualified to. From my initial understanding, these aren't officially created by Binance, they simply listed them. Browsing the above link briefly, it does appear that they can be 'redeemed': "Creation/Redemption Finally, you can create or redeem leveraged tokens. This is not recommended unless you have read through all of the documentation on leveraged tokens. Creating or redeeming leveraged tokens will have market impact and you won't know what price you ultimately get until after you've created or redeemed. We recommend using the spot markets instead.
You can create or redeem a leveraged token by going to the tokens page and clicking 'more info'. If you create $10,000 of ETHBULL, this will send a market order to buy $30,000 of ETH-PERP, calculate the price paid, and then charge you that amount of money; it'll then credit your account with the corresponding amount of ETHBULL."Also it looks like they can technically get liquidated, but only in rather extreme situations and that's somewhat theoretical.

I kinda like the idea, I wonder, the coin would automaticaly be emptied out if the margin defaults? That means your key isn't that safe right?
My understanding is that this is built in a way that it cannot 'default', but simply follows price movement on a 3x magnification in real-time. In theory, this means they would never get liquidated, only lose most of their value if say the market fell 50%.. only to regain again upon rebound. Basically extreme hodling.

Ok, these don't exist yet.. but, Binance recently listed ERC-20 tokens that are effectively leveraged positions in BTC, ETH, XRP, or EOS. This means that for every 1%, 10%, and 100% that a coin goes up, these tokens will increase in value by 3%, 30%, and 300%. Effectively they are like a margin position, but with everything 'built-in'. So because funded physical coins are effectively used as long-term cold storage, I think that embedding some with these long positions is an exciting, even extraordinary idea. So compare; A funded BTC1 coin ... if BTC goes from 10k to 20k, the coin is worth BTC1 and thus $20,000 (+100%). A funded 0.05 BULL coin ($1000 / 0.1 BTC will buy you about 0.05 BULL today), if BTC goes up 100% to 20k, will be worth $40,000 (+300%). Pretty wild! And similar coins can be made for ETH, EOS, and XRP. https://www.binance.com/en/support/articles/360038933471Who wants an Infinity Coin with a BULL private key? That said, This probably calls for a new series entirely; maybe even a fancy 'stock certificate' type. I think this is the start of something very interesting. Feel free to PM if you have ideas. Thoughts?

Hey there, What you are looking for is extremely (and I mean extremely) difficult to find, and if found, very very expensive. Here is a demo coin: http://www.cryptonumist.com/coin/s1-1-btc-2011-demo-coin/Note that the demo coins are peeled, but the sticker is still 'there'. Super rare. I might have some. Then there are 'void' coins, such as ones given by Casascius to a few reporters. They barely exist. There are also unfunded bars, as well as unfunded gold 1,000 btc coins. These too are very difficult to find. Then there are of course 'peeled' coins, which were once funded but were redeemed. Sticker may or may not be included. Starting price $500+

If anyone wants to participate in proofreading the book as I prepare for publication, send me an 'application' by PM. The subject is about the entire crypto ecosystem as a whole. There are 100k words in 21 chapters, which is a lot. So this would be a sort of serious commitment. I would hope that you can read 5 chapters per week (5k words per chapter), and write a free-form commentary of each chapter as you read them. Assuming 20 minutes per chapter and 10 minutes of writing reflections, this would take about 10 hours in all. Since this involves copyright material that is unpublished, I should know you somehow or you should be otherwise trustworthy. Looking forward to PM's.
