This too. I've been sick and we're gearing up for longer term growth and expansion. This doesn't happen overnight and takes proper planning (I feel like im just repeating myself now I post this so much) but that is the truth. The initial "hype" phase is over, now we're figuring out how to maximize reach and growth long term, as well as get payment processor, services, and other MEOW-based initiatives in place to grow the ecosystem. AND we have coin-based innovations planned too.

Just cause I've been sick for 48+ hrs and the team hasn't made any big announcements in a week doesn't mean we aren't working on many things. We are just packaging announcement properly now (which takes a bit more time) and still working on getting the marketing team properly setup with hootsuite, my being sick didn't help that at all. This is also why the social channels have been quite this week relatively speaking (i did post that I was sick though!).

Sorry just want to catch people up a bit. Still here and not going anywhere just been sick and trying to keep the internal wheels moving but I realize the community needs to be updated as well. I should be feeling better by this weekend and will post a more detailed update on the "state of MEOW" this weekend.

Yeah think about it- if you're someone with 3million USD to throw around and want to manipulate the meow market it would be cake. You can easily lay down huge sells walls and buy up all the coin they want then pull the walls once satisfied    ...then let MEOW realize its actual value as we continue to build services.

..then take profit down the line, as well as have enough MEOW stockpiled to easily continue to manipulate if they hold enough.

Be smart don't get shaken down and let them have that kind of power of the market. I can tell you its definitely manipulation when I was put in sells (large sells, to test the market) at taking out taking out a 0.6 BTC buy wall, and it was instantly back, again, and again. This happens enough then they realize they can go buy cheaper lower and then move their buy/sell walls down.

We're working hard on the coin; this week has just been really busy and rough for crypto in general. I have been slammed at my dayjob and haven't been able to work on public stuff as much as I've been working on getting the marketing team together and talking with other dev team members about what's next. We're regrouping now that KGW is out and focusing on marketing, and delegating current team resources to other initiatives related to MEOW (whereas originally we were largely focused on the core stuff like wiki, forums etc.) like marketplaces, outreach, mobile apps, etc.

The initial launch/crazy burst is a phase of every coin's lifecycle. MEOW is just taking a breather. I certainly expect gradual price growth over time now that the hype phase is over. We'll continue to evolve and develop MEOW and add a lot more value whereas most other coin teams let it fade away after they take their post-launch profits... that's not what we're in this for (at least I'm not)- we want to build something with long-term value and that takes patience and proper planning.

We're also thinking about sprucing up the website some more, post up some site you like the layout/design/UX of and we'll take the hint

I would encourage all users interested in getting BTER to add MEOW to tweet them, this is the best way to get their attention. I am also privately emailing them, but hitting them from both angles will probably get better results.

Hold on to your tails, given the price manipulation I sense has been going on all week I'm interested to see what happens to MEOW over the next few days, looks like it definitely found the floor around 23 (today)... Either way the team is always pushing forward with new features, tools, and services. I hinted to some of this on twitter but we're looking into merged-mining, zerocoin integration, and nameID/coincontrol integration all at the same time.

Yeah the fork was announced 5 days prior to the link you referenced (if not more). We reached out HARD to pool operators starting 2/10, and even pre-released the binaries to make it abundantly clear the fork was neigh. Posted all over facebook, twitter, reddit, bitcointalk and KittehCoin forums. If your pool's contact form does not lead to a meaningful mailbox please let me know and in the future should we need to fork again I'll PM you here on BCT (alyons). We now have a "contact sheet" for pools to help mitigate this should it happen again in the future.

Thanks! We saw Feathercoin had something like that, really like it. I actually have a tool I'm working on right now that does exactly this in a more visual way. I created it to see how effective KGW is in reaction to network hashrate changes and such. We will use this to eventually display the stats your requesting as well as some other info about the network (avg block time, time it took to find last block, etc).

I'd show the demo page right now but the timeline is off and I need to fix it (and I'm sure ppl will criticize the tool for that one minor issue so, holding it for now!), we're open-sourcing the project (like most our projects) so that other coins might also benefit from it and contribute to it.

Very interesting to see how KGW reacts to network changes. KittehCoin network been running at about 1-2gh/s solid all day, very interesting to see how the diff is reacting when graphed over time. Wish I could see similar stats on other coins for comparison sake!

KGW seems to keep the diff very stable unless large swings in hashrate occur, in which case it reacts very strongly. I'm still gathering baseline data for a proper analysis but this tool will enable us to do network analysis on a level I haven't seen other coins doing (or they are keeping those tools/stats private if they are...)

After you've backed up your data directory simply run the new wallet for your appropriate OS. You may notice the new wallet "reindexing the blockchain" this is normal, let it do it's thing. All your coins will be just as they were last time you ran the old wallet. If you open the help>about menu you should see 'v0.8.6.2-unk-beta'. You're all set!

What's Next?

• Now that we have addressed the KGW situation we will have a future release coming up within the next month that introduces the "new feature" we have been talking about for a while in KittehCoin. We have at least 2 additional innovative roadmap features in the pipeline as well. The first (of 3) will be done in the next month or so (already on testnets). The release was delayed by KGW's rollout.
• International expansion - we are working hard to get all of our announcements and news translated and mirrored onto international sites in native languages, this is part of our effort to increase awareness around MEOW and further improve our marketing
• We have reached out to BTC38 and are doing everything we can to get added on that exchange to allow the asian markets easier access to KittehCoin trading
• We are still waiting on Apple to approve our iOS wallet app for KittehCoin!
• We are working on an online wallet service which will allow you to easily create KittehCoin wallets online, this will also have a mobile-friendly website for the Android crowd but ultimately we want to have an Android native wallet app.

Preach it! This isn't a premined coin, the dev team is working their asses of for free. And we aren't college kids with free time to toss around! We're serious about this, if you have 100s of millions of MEOW (which is probably more than all of the entire devteam has combined) why not donate some so we can get it more well distributed and get even more people using KittehCoin? Or start a giveaway yourself? You'll be building value in a coin you're already heavily vested in and you know this team is serious.

+1000 We're working hard on a lot of things. Our marketing team will help to make people more aware of this and we're just organizing that. I'm so tired of people trying to tell us to do things faster or get people more excited.

We have so many irons in the fire when it comes to services and features its hard to keep track sometimes of what everyone is working on. Have some patience! Anyone who expects a coin to go from 1 to 200 satoshi in a month is well.. not keen to the market and how this works. We're building long term value, we've brought the coin a huge distance in a month (January) and we're going to keep building on that.

And yes there are big new coin features coming, but last time we did a launch we got ragged on for not "marketing it" properly. This time we are having a team do just that- market it right. In turn that means it will take a little longer to be released because marketing plans take time. Cause and effect, all ultimately in the best interests of the coin and the community.

Kinda unnerving situation to be in? We were in the same spot with this pool, no way to contact the owner at all listed anywhere. They came around and spoke up in the thread where we were asking all pool operators to upgrade their wallet, the owner's username on these forums is "ph111".

They have still not upgraded to my knowledge, so I recommend mining elsewhere until they have confirmed upgraded.
