I found it very hard when I first started using bitcoin. Updating the blockchain on the computer was the hardest thing to do you didn't know what or if it was downloading and also typing and checking your address to make sure its correct.
This is why SPV wallets are so popular, they don't require the download of the entire blockchain.

It's pointless even to use the website, it would be much quicker just to create random addresses yourself and see if they have any coins.
Even if i type random addresses by my self and by luck they contain bitcoins then how can i find their private keys? You wouldn't be typing addresses. You would be finding random private keys, which would correspond to addresses.

If people start trying to blacklist coins I will do everything in my power to stop them and I suggest everyone else do the same because blacklisting would harm bitcoin beyond anything we've seen so far.

I don't trust the wikipedia page to be accurate, what exactly is cryptonote?

Well of course people want to buy porn with bitcoin. It's not tied to a real person like a credit card.

.coin would be best IMO
I don't like .coin because it doesn't specify bitcoin. People that don't know about bitcoin wouldn't question .coin as being something normal.

If they were earlier they would probably get more users just because of the domain name alone, but it's a bit late now.
They might still get more newbies interested in Bitcoin that are trying to find informations about the Bitcoin. People sometimes just go ahead and type in something.com if they want to find additional info about a thing. True, but most people that look a bit will find that this forum has many more users.

what does this say about their wallet, will it get shut down soon too?
I really hope that they as an exchange service will continue to function, I rely on them.

Either Mt. Gox or Inputs.io if you ask me, but those have already passed, you can't really lose money to them now.

Well cloud mining is nearly almost always a scam, either a HYIP in disguise or just a hole for your money.
no hashnest is legit, they provide the best opportunity for profit, you can actually roi with them, it's up to you, on how much you are willing to wait it's not so much different if you do it yourself withyour miners, i would blame the whole miners system and not cloud mining I did say nearly almost. It's possible for sites to be legit. I'm just saying it's usually too good to be true.

Maybe the "hack" was actually fake and an attempt at insurance fraud, that would be pretty bad. I like using coinbase as an exchange.

I like it because it seems much more natural for a way to transfer value over the internet, and even in person it's not that bad.

I feel like the purpose is to stop one party from having too much control over the way that people store value.

I don't think much will change really, XT will die quietly and everything will go back to normal.

I just hope that it continues to succeed, and that there's not many more huge hiccups. I want more services to be made, and transaction volume to increase. I want stability.

Is there somehow you can use gift cards on gyft to accomplish this, either through gyft or through a gift card they offer?

That's a bunch of crap, but what do you expect when you give people the freedom that bitcoin does.
