881  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: August 11, 2015, 09:59:31 AM
HODLing used to be fun, nowadays it's just boring Cry

boring will pay off.

there is no sexy about holding, but its the same way how the rich have a big principal in a 1% instrument and thats not sexy but they know the money works for them.

so dont worry bitcoin will pay off eventually.

In fact the best part of holding is during stable periods of downtrend, because you are able to buy more amounts of Bitcoin or whatever you are holding. Your stack just keeps growing and you know it will be properly valued in the future and it will pay off.
882  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stocks fall globally as Greek talks collapse on: August 11, 2015, 09:58:21 AM
The plan is clear. Troika is exploiting all those poor countries specially the south european ones, they will take their economies down through ridiculous austerity programs, and buy their debt at a ridiculous price with the consent of each local elites. This will be a world wide agenda of privatization of all services.
883  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about this? on: August 11, 2015, 09:34:53 AM
The comparative can be seen as correct if you consider the 1K bubble is now gone and it's just a matter of time that the next bubble begins. Im sure we'll be way past ATH in 5 years, I just don't know if we've gone through the despair phase yet or not.
884  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much do you think 1 Bitcoin will be worth in 2020? on: August 11, 2015, 09:30:56 AM
We should do some sort of fun bet, as if, if by 2020 Bitcoin is 5 figures, I will do a youtube video naked holding a vodka bottle dancing next to Bitcoinwisdom.com to any song of your choice, or something along the lines. (Not saying I would do that, is just an idea lol. If someone wants to do it it would go viral im pretty sure)
885  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will price start tanking? on: August 11, 2015, 09:27:38 AM
It's  not a fork yet but soon will be.
This will be one of the most devastating events in the history of bit coin. I can see it become a much bigger disaster than the whole MtGox drama tbh.
We could be looking at a value well under $100.

uhm there was already an hard fork in the past and that fork did not caused any damage to the price, actually there wasa  big bubble around it, i doubt the entity of this one is bigger than that because this is expected the old one was not

so no, 100 in value will not happen deal with it

Well back in the time Bitcoin was still even more primitive and less populated, now we got more people that may be prone to panic sell. In any case, hard fork can only happen if consensus is reached so who cares, it will never be a catastrophe, it will be a democratic change.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I mined a Bitcoin in Minecraft on: August 11, 2015, 09:24:52 AM
it's an old news, and also not so profitable, i believe there are better game that let you have bitcoin, maybe not directly, like those that use Hypercoin

with hyper you can play minecraft and earn those hypercoin that you can convert in bitcoin, with a better earning, also there are more game like counter strike, that provide a good earning overall, much better than any faucet for example...
Lol you took the OP's title literally but all he meant to say is that he made a Bitcoin B logo on the game. I don't think playing any videogame is lucrative unless you get 1 million views per Youtube video or something along the lines.
887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ownership Defined on: August 11, 2015, 09:17:34 AM
The mental masturbation on ownership by governments will never change the objective fact that says if you own the private keys, those keys are you, therefore, those Bitcoins are yours. Period. Everything else is abstract shit with hidden agendas and motives, don't get fooled by the local govs. At the end of the day it all comes to that.
888  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation Would KILL Bitcoin Dead on: August 11, 2015, 09:12:22 AM
You are right, that's why I don't think the proposal of increasing the total number of coins would ever get any consensus, that's why im not worried about this. No one would win anything by doing this. If you are on BTC you simply don't benefit from such nonsense.
889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Monitor on: August 11, 2015, 09:10:33 AM
How safe it is to use HD wallets and to share public master keys to receive payments? I want to get on this, but im too paranoid about doing anything that involves leaving the legacy Bitcoin Core wallet.
890  Economy / Speculation / Re: Parabolic rise has begun on: August 10, 2015, 01:22:49 PM
OP where do we stand now?

We stand as the most powerful network in the world with the most disruptive technology ever. Selling = idiot.
891  Economy / Economics / Re: bitfinex lending on: August 10, 2015, 01:21:34 PM
Im still yet to see a viable lending business. It seems everything is either a scam or has pathetic return rates that make the risk not worth it.
892  Economy / Economics / Re: A Resource Based Economy on: August 10, 2015, 12:35:08 PM
The Resource Based Economy status is too advanced and individuals that think about it are too advanced beyond the pack, I don't think we will see it during our life times. There are way bigger chances that BTC becomes the global ledger and we all become rich than seeing RBU during our lifetimes.
893  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans Flocking to China on: August 10, 2015, 12:33:33 PM
I guess the only people going there are established businessmen trying to take advantage of the low rates on Hong Kong to start and move businesses, other than that I dont understand why an American would move to China when everything about it is obviously worse.
894  Economy / Economics / Re: Kraken and Bitfinex cut services in NYC on: August 10, 2015, 12:24:55 PM
What will happen to the BitLicense if every business residing in New York City leaves the place? I wonder if it will remain operative? But whats the point of having a license if no one pays for it because they all leave? lol.
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why i will support bigger blocks - and you should too on: August 10, 2015, 12:07:38 PM

Um... it would make these spam attacks stop instantly at least. These spammers might be very well miners, a corporation of them maybe, and they seem to test out the best way to raise the fees permanently that way. At the moment they try to spam often so that nobody knows if he has to take a high fee or not. Raising the fee overall to prevent risk at the end.

The spam attacks will stop once we reach a acceptable level of fee's. Currently it's possible to make transactions without paying any fees. That is not good for Bitcoin as it makes it easy to bloat the blockchain.

I don't know where you got the idea from that bitcoin doesn't scale. The max block size is arbitrary from the start. Im not sure what you speak about.

Please explain how the block size will scale with a hard fork increasing the block size to 8MB?

So we need to wait for a third party network to make bitcoin work. Seriously? Roll Eyes

Really... its no wonder that so many bitcoiners think that the lightning network bitcoin core developers have their own agenda in this.

And what dangerous fork? Are you spreading FUD here?

So you are saying Bitcoin doesn't work now? I wonder who is spreading the FUD now?

The idea is incremental of 8mb in synchrony with moore's law. This way we should be able to scale up as far as we need to.

The fees must stay low tho.. im not saying they shouldn't be a bit higher if needed, but definitely they must feel LOW or else it will be a mass failure.
896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: inflate bitcoin or keep 1MB cap. your decision on: August 10, 2015, 12:03:59 PM
The ideal solution still requires both actors joining forces. We need the 8MB incremental blocksize model and we need gmaxwell's and co efforts with the Lightning Network. We need literally everything. Let's just hope internet connections keep getting improved. I just upgraded my connection myself because they've installed better cable recently, so progress is happening.
897  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will Ethereum's launch affect BTC's price? on: August 09, 2015, 12:22:48 PM
hmmm bitcoin value is going down, but it doesn't seem to be because of ethereum, as it is going down even faster.

It was so obvious that ETH would crash. Im so glad I didn't buy into the hype. The only way to profit from it would have been by buying at the ICO and dumping as soon as it hits the exchanges.
898  Economy / Speculation / Re: 30K dumps, bitcoin Collapsing, run !!! on: August 09, 2015, 12:21:43 PM
If you are here for the long term and you've been here for more than 2 years this is nothing. We are coming from a 1.2k crash bubble so for me 20 dollars less is not a catastrophe.
899  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: August 09, 2015, 12:11:13 PM
It's not only how much BTC you make weekly, the translation to fiat is important too. For example we now went from 280 usd to 265, since signature campaigns will pay the same, we are making less money now.
900  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: August 09, 2015, 12:10:04 PM
yes I will do it if i have 50BTC
i think i can take profit 2-3BTC/every day
that very high for me

 Cheesy

How would having 50BTC make you earn 50~ BTC per month? I'd sure like to know that one Tongue

I don't know how, it makes no sense. You would need to be consistently lucky in the altcoin market or against fiat market which is extremely unlikely.
There aren't any ways to get interest as high enough as 2-3 btc daily off 50 BTC, thats nonsense.
