881  Other / Meta / Re: Petition for new mods who will ban users who troll and harass sites on: October 04, 2018, 08:15:29 PM
You have made some valid submissions and I understand the amount of frustration you had to endure in dealing with all of these "attacks" against you and your business and truth be told, it could be draining having to defend and repeat all over the place. If you want think want to rely on the moderators, it could be effective but don't forget that another account could spring up to continue the same attack.

My suggestion the best is to ignore and respond to only valid ones. If you concentrate on stopping or removing them, you might not get any headway in that which could drain you the more. The people on the forum also know how to discern valid concerns and that of a troll which does not attract any value.
882  Economy / Lending / Re: Anyone need a loan? on: October 04, 2018, 04:48:54 PM
I'll give it a shot. I'll extend my hand out and trust you will pay it back. I would like some sort of compensation. Hero's and Legend's please. I'd like to bridge trust for my time, loan and let you choose compensation for it.
I have BTC and ETH, and would like to note it on the trust system. If iv'e broken any rules, please let me know.
I'm a trustworthy, helpful and giving individual and will help those in need.

The first question I would like to ask is, Do you know what you are doing? You have written so much on your belive of the trust system but let me tell you, for the fact you have a clean heart and high moral ground does not mean others would do the same. In the past when I wanted to because of my personal believe, I trusted fully eventually I was scammed. I was so pained because I knew I would't do that to a fellow individual but eventually I realised that I should not judge others based on what I perceived to be the way of life. This has been my guiding principle ever since.

The forum is a faceless one and even restricting it to higher ranked members does not stop certain people who have several accounts that have been built and ready to throw away. They will give you a nice story, write good proposals with one intention in mind and that is to scam you. Just do the right thing by ensuring the basic rule for giving loans on the forum is followed and you will be fine.
883  Economy / Lending / Re: Request to Lenders on: October 04, 2018, 04:05:21 PM
I noticed almost all lenders give no collateral loan to reputed members. I want to say before giving loan without collateral Keep in mind below theory:
1. Check their recent activity
2. Check their trust ratings (trusted or untrusted)
3. Double check signature or previous stake address.
4. Try to understand how important the account. Few member id is precious to them than few legendary. Earlier who has written anything even gave bounty report became legendary so their account is not important to them and also they have multiple account. So, if you give 500$ loan that might be defaulted.

And also after filling the loan please give neutral ratings so that other people can know that borrower already taken loan from others either borrower is higher rank even DT2 member.

I read a thread about a loan made by actmyname and I realize that it might seems that its a no collateral loan, but its not. The account ID itself worth more than the collateral. I was even more surprised that what an individual went ahead to make the payment just before negotiations was concluded that it ended in double payment that he needed to return even with fees that tells you how someone value his name more than few btc.

The point is, while it is essential to keep to the rules above, some individuals have paid their dues of being a worthy ambassador on the forum and their name speaks gold. This should even serve as a lesson to those who have been tagged for asking for a non-collateral loan that its nothing personal but a simple hard-work and good behavior that has been discharged by the person involved.
884  Economy / Securities / Re: Seeking an investor for a consulting service on: October 04, 2018, 03:48:05 PM
I checked the site and to be sincere, I don't see why you need investors for the services you are offering and personally I won't invest in a business that can virtually be done by an average tech savvy individual.

On the forum here, there are several individuals offering this kind of service and they don't need investors to run things. I would advise you go solo on this. Build your brand to the point of being a reference to others by going after ANN threads, writing proposals, forming teams to deliver a bouquet of services after and the funds generated can be used to design a good website then expand from there. #my opinion.
885  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 1broker shut down, binance or bitfinex next? on: October 04, 2018, 02:51:12 PM
with broker being taken down by the SEC, do you think binance and bitmex next? For those who don't know, Binance and Bitmex isn't not US friendly. I know Binance had an ICO for their coin and it worries me. Any opnions on this?

For government to have gone after some certain business, then there is something fishy about their activities in my opinion to have attracted such attention which is not known to the public. As to whether Binance or Bitmex is the next, there is no saying for sure although its going to be a fact that they also have their files with the authority. Best way, don't keep the bulk of your funds on exchange sites because you will not be notified when the take down is going to happen and the first thing they will do is to suspend all withdrawals. When you fund is there, you end up being at their mercy which you might not be able to recover especially if you happen to be a US citizen and don't also forget that those exchange sites have implemented their own KYC and all of this they will be forced to turn over to government just by the show of warrant.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uzbekistan Opens Door to Cryptocurrency Exchanges, Offers Tax Benefits on: October 04, 2018, 05:51:18 AM
This is really a great one that needs to be commended by the government of Uzbekistan at this time but the conditions they attached is something that might shut the big players out from their economy as they won't be able to achieve that they have set out. Insisting that only international companies that have branches in their country are allowed to set up exchange is not the right move. Also, the complete exemption of tax from such inflow is call to abuse because while government with a noble intention to develop that sector with such policy, individuals are ready to exploit it as a means to evade tax.

There is also the need to start amending the narration by shift the full attention away from exchange to application of blockchain in daily live and making it easier as that is what would really improve the economy and make life easy for an average citizen.
887  Economy / Speculation / Re: Insider News : big dump on the 15th october on: October 03, 2018, 09:44:35 PM
i have also received an insider news and i will mention here so you can keep track of it for future tips.

big pump on on 15th October  to $8000

cheers.

It seems the guy below you didn't see the sarcasm in your comment that he is looking for the source as to whether to start buying more so that by 15th October, he can make maximum "return" on his investment.

Have you guys watched latest Tone Videos? He's very peculiar about all of it but predicts 5000 and maybe 1300

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gS1JQWtGaiM

There is no point watching the video because doing that would be causing more harm to the market out of getting panic about seeing the current position of $6000+ as a better point than the speculated $5000 while he would be getting richer because the higher the number of views he get, the higher the payout as that would surely be a channel. Let him continue to make his prediction while people like me, would continue to ignore as reason posited are only mere expression of opinion that can be done by anybody.
888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Help a new exchange test its platform! 16 ether being distributed! on: October 03, 2018, 07:46:22 PM
This new german exchange is running a trading competition with fake funds to test their platform, and the winners receive Ether as a prize, a total of 16 Ether are being distributed. Participation is completely free, for more information join their telegram channel!
https://t.me/XTECHannouncementchannel

This is misplaced priority. You have found your way to the forum to meet the largest gathering of crypto enthusiasts yet you are still referring them to an outside link in other to be able to tests run your service.

What is wrong in pitting everything in the open here including the name of the website and the procedure that in the process of trying to know yes for bugs, you are also creating awareness for the site in a gradual way and I must tell you, going with this option will expose you to high quality reviews and critic that you can ever imagine.

As a matter of fact, if you are serious about the launch of your business, immediately the above is achieved, you need to build on it by creating an ANN thread on the exchange section of the forum while other form of advertisement can follow such as @Kamarit has suggested.
889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino gambler reveals 'secret no-lose betting pattern' :o on: October 03, 2018, 06:06:52 PM
I know for a fact that you don't come to the web to disclose a technique that has worked for you to the whole world. The question is, when everybody then start applying the technique, what do you then use?

This is nothing short of trying hard to be recognized as these days people can go any length just to be relevant to be talked about. His method might work, but its purely coincidental and he could have been strategic enough to know the best time to launch. The claim that he was banned from casino because of a working model is another lie because I wonder how much he had won that was not reported by the media enough for him to be ban by casino not one but two. Most casinos would rather get him as a consultant to work for them in other to identify the loophole should someone else is trying to play such a fast one on them.
890  Economy / Economics / Re: China moves further towards cashless society on: October 03, 2018, 05:09:09 PM
South China Morning Post

An argument between staff at a cashless supermarket in northern China and an elderly man who did not know how to use his smartphone to buy a bunch of grapes has revived calls for help for those left behind in the digital economy.

The 67-year-old man, identified only by his surname Xie, tried to use cash to buy the fruit at a supermarket in Jixi, Heilongjiang province, on Sunday, video news site Pear Video reported.

Checkout workers rejected the money and insisted that he use his phone to pay via either WeChat Pay or Alipay, prompting the argument, according to the video.

Alipay is owned by Alibaba, which owns the South China Morning Post.

“I’ll leave if you don’t take the cash,” Xie said in the clip.

“Well, leave if you can,” the cashier replied.

As China goes increasingly cashless, PBOC says cash payment is still alive
Xie took the grapes and approached the door but was stopped by security guards.

“I know it’s not right to leave without paying,” Xie said. “But I have real yuan in my hands. It’s not fake money. Why are you humiliating this old man for not knowing how to use WeChat?”

A security guard later helped Xie process the payment with cash, the report said.

This problem will continue until overbearing cashiers are not trained on the right way to do things. I don't expect that a policy on cash would be that total and would receive blanket application without considering the payment of something so small as fruits. Government at times in the process of trying to do the right thing end up causing more problem for the citizens they promise to serve and if the country should have been practicing a transparent democratic government, the voice of the people would have been heard. The youth are the ones that would be more convenient using electronic money to meet their payment but for the elders  who have served the country and built it to the extent it is not granted some slack to get basic things with their cash, then such policy is nothing short of inhumane and that is why government needs to as a matter of urgency review the policy and mandate everyone in charge of collection of payment to ensure that the Yuan has never ceased to be a legal tender.
891  Economy / Economics / Re: Executives are selling off their company's stock at a record pace on: October 03, 2018, 04:40:31 PM
One reason why I cannot buy shares in corporate organisations because of the attitudes of both the executive directors and their non-executive counterparts that irrespective of the several controls put in place by law, ethics, corporate governance, a standing regulatory body, government enforcing arms etc. they still find a way to enrich themselves and not only in the fat remuneration they pay but also in paying themselves with share options after which they engage in trading of the company's share by proxy, engage in insider information and be mega rich all at the expense of both investors and their shareholders. This I have seen in my brief stint with activities in the stock market.

I think there is nothing that can be done to stop all these nonsense that is happening in the corporate world because after when a new policy is brought on board, others that have done it are exempted while the others would continue to study loopholes in the existing rule then exploit it. What we have again is another round of noises all over. If all of these are happening in the developed economies, I wonder how much atrocities that would be committed by these corporate rogues in less developed stock markets in the world.
892  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the cause of trade war between USA and China? on: October 03, 2018, 01:20:15 PM
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this questions, but since it has to do with economy, I feel i should ask it here.

For some months now, I keep hearing about the trade war between United State and China,

I have tried to research on what is the actually cause of this war but I can't seem to understand what is the actually cause of the war.

My question is this....

1. What is the cause of the trade war?

Aside the economical terms and the graphs that they use to justify the angle they are both pursuing, its personally about ego. Ego of both of them feeling they are making the other survive and therefore they should get more for their contribution in which they fail to forget that they both need each other to survive if not for their sake but for the sake of the citizens

2. What are the things the both stands to lose because of the war?

The extent of their losses is something that cannot be estimated but one thing is sure, both parties will not remain in the position they are before the beginning of this trade war. Companies that have businesses in both countries will start facing some increased amount of pressure on both side that would then dip into their profit position.

3. Does it have any impact on the crypto market? [/b]

I want economist in the forum to help me answer these questions.

Impact on crypto, I don't see it happening because if it would have been, we should have been seeing it. Crypto is not the currency of transaction, one of the party has decided crypto would not flourish in her territory among other factors.
893  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Many cryptocurrency exchanges are vulnerable to breaches. on: October 03, 2018, 11:54:40 AM
We all have heard about the hacks on many exchanges with millions
of dollars being lost. Despite this many exchanges still haven't improved their security.

ICOratings.com published a list of exchanges according to their security score.

  • Coinbase pro has scored the highest with 89/100
  • Okcoin.cn is placed at the bottom with a score of 15/100.

Cryptocurrency has changed significantly since the inception of Bitcoin, but the number of
security breaches on exchanges remains unaltered.

https://news.bitcoin.com/54-of-cryptocurrency-exchanges-have-security-holes/

While calling them out is a way to get them to be security conscious, I think this would further make them subject of targets because a typical hacker who would not have targeted Okcoin.cn before would as a result of this report would definitely want to give a try at the expense of those who keep their funds there because a lot of them would not be lucky to see this report and do the right thing by moving their funds to other safe platform. Another concern is the report could be said to be sponsored because it means that Coinbase is a more reputable platform to keep funds than others but not perfect at the same time could sniffle out competition if news like this get publicized beyond necessary.

I have not seen a report that compare how secure banks are to hold depositors fund because they know by default that they must meet certain benchmark on a regular basis before being given a clean bill to continue operating by the regulatory bodies and the management can be held responsible should anything go wrong and until when such is paramount in crypto, we might still be grappling with cases like this with no end in sight.
894  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: FATCA on: October 03, 2018, 10:01:05 AM
I'm an American that owns an offshore company located in Chile. I plan on opening a cryptocurrency exchange, but wouldn't have any American customers, I'd also block all US IPs as a precautionary matter. A friend of mine has told me repeatedly that I need to comply with the requirements of FATCA. This can't be correct, is it?

The way I understand this law, international businesses only need to comply if they have American customers
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Account_Tax_Compliance_Act#Provisions

Reading the provisions of FATCA, I don't see a way out that exclude because even if you stop US citizens from patronizing your services and block their IPs, the business would need to report you for having a stake in the company which is an asset to you simply because you are a US citizen. In the eyes of the law for a limited liability company, the business and the owner are separate individuals.

Quoting the link above, ...FATCA also requires such persons to self-report their non-U.S. financial assets annually to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on form 8938, which is in addition to the older and further redundant requirement to self-report them annually to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) on form 114 (also known as 'FBAR').[2] Like U.S. income tax law, FATCA applies to U.S. residents and also to U.S. citizens and green card holders residing in other countries.

My advise, start thinking of doing it right from the beginning and if you cannot avoid complying, then there is nothing wrong in opening up you business for US citizens but if you know you can handle yourself alone, you can still go ahead with the planned exclusion.
895  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US Citizen opening corporate bank account in Europe on: October 03, 2018, 06:33:33 AM
With all of these challenges that you have itemized, there is no point trying to fight it because even if you get a lawyer who you will pay they would still bore you with all of these challenges and find a way to charge you more. I would suggest a way out though and its simple. Rather than trying to register as a foreign citizen in the country of your choice, I don't think there is anything wrong in finding a friend that country which he register and you become a shareholder without any trouble. You can even go as far as becoming a director in the firm and if you are willing to relocate, you only need to get work permit and that is what a smart lawyer will suggest you do. Over here, an individual can set up a company and within days, you get it out with names eligible to open accounts in any bank whether foreign or local but the condition for a foreigner is almost difficult to overcome except you are coming in full scale into the country but with the micro $50,000, you might be frustrated.
896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop comparing ETH with BTC!!!!!!!! on: October 03, 2018, 05:53:37 AM
Since I joined the cryptocurrency world and even this forum I have seen something that people always do that I think its not the right way. People always compaire ETH with BTC telling us that ETH is the best cryptocurrency. I really doubt that because looking at these two coins, although they are all blockchain based currencies but to me BTC is doing far better than ETH. BTC was created before ETH but look at the performances and judge it yourself. I really do not want to talk much about this issue. Guys what do think about what I am arguing about?

Those who tend to compare the two any opportunity they have got, is just a way whip up sentiment that does not exist. I have seen it so abound in the altcoin section of the forum and especially during the times that bitcoin price is witnessing some challenges. Its even so ridiculous when ICO that is in pre-sale period that they are not sure its going to survive beyond that period are easily quick to claim that they are coming with the next bitcoin and I wonder if the standard set by bitcoin is that easy to surpass.

For ETH and BTC I strongly believe they can co-exist in peace because they both offer solutions to the community that is still unravelled in the crypt world.
897  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your opinion about the decline in BTC prices in 2018 on: October 02, 2018, 07:40:13 PM
hi bro, how are you all hopefully we are all under God's protection, here i want to hear your opinion all about the decline in crypto prices in 2018, of course i also have an opinion about the decline in BTC prices especially, why in 2018 is the price of BTC decreasing I think that because of the increase in the number of BTC holding communities, and of course many new holders bought BTC in early 2018, because it is still new, of course they are panic about the decline in their assets, because of their panic selling low BTC prices, and in here I want to hear your opinion about this. thank you for all in this forum, hopefully healthy always

A lot of people will express different opinion about how things have turned out to be for bitcoin price in 2018 and in all it has been a rough journey ever since the beginning of the year. In my opinion, I believe the best is yet to come and that best could mean another round of downward trend or upward trend. If we are going to witness the positive, it going to be a gradual one and everyone should as a matter of urgency do away with the premonition of another all time high because that period has actually made it possible for a very high expectation that could not survive during harsh conditions that was witnessed in 2018.

2018 has been a difficult year so far and we might not see any significant increase from the current position up till the end of the year. Current happenings might effect of positives such as the review of policies by social and advertisements platforms but with the censorship that is embedded in such arrangement, I would not expect much. The onus is on everybody to get ready for another challenging year of 2018.
898  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I Would Like to Start an Exchange Website on: October 02, 2018, 06:53:35 PM
Is anyone familiar with what all the operating expenses would be?

I own and manage several websites that are unrelated to cryptocurrency, but I don't own any service-based websites, so this would be a bit of new territory for me.

If anyone can shed some light on this, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Its deeper than what is going on on the surface and its one of the areas of business in crypto that one cannot just venture into because you have the entrepreneurial spirit. For you to really understand how it would run, you need to find some who is already running a legitimate one then understudy because for it to be successful, it goes beyond just building a website or running a ready made script that you install then hosts. Several challenges would include:

1. The legality: Recently, it has been a matter of action to get this right from the beginning that even the already established exchange sites are being forced to implement the KYC rule. How this is done and who to approach means you need to understudy.

2. Security: This is another serious matter because an exchange is always a target everyday which means just being an entrepreneur does not keep investors fund safe. Its a thing you need to get right. Other issues that you need to get right would include the marketing, the liquidity, the procedures for listing of coins, the moderators of chat box, would it be decentralised or centralised among other issues that would crop up during implementation.
899  Economy / Reputation / Re: We have many people who don't mind their business here on: October 02, 2018, 02:50:26 PM
If everybody just go about minding their own business, I am sure you yourself will not be welcome because who have been made to answer for their actions through the various controls on put in place by the forum would have been able to get away with their actions without anyone holding them responsible because we will all be minding our business. When issues happen, the onus is on you to present your case in the best clear way supported by evidence and why you have maintained the position that is causing the conflict and you will be surprised that those who you are asking to mind their business are really open minded and could be your saving grace. So, rather than doing name calling, start doing the right thing because when you attack, it breeds guilt.
900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need help to recover my hacked coins on: October 02, 2018, 06:34:43 AM
As long as you do not have the private keys, no one can help you "unless the hacker decides to return the money to you."
The best thing you'll get is to know who stole your money and frozen/lock his account "if S/he uses a centralized platform."
Create a topic in the investigation section or open a Scam Accusations.

sorry for your loss.

@bolded, the chance of that happening is zero to none as an hacker does not go through the process of gaining control of an account, send the funds out and have a change of heart midway for him/her to then refund it from where it was taken from.

My advise is to be more careful if someone boast that he can recover it for you because the vulnerability of your own account would surely be guided against by the hacker so that you don't lose more than you already lost. Again, as you might not be able to recover your lost funds, you can help others by creating awareness on the process and the point your was comprised coupled with the services that you patronized that led to such compromise.
