901  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The story of Betnomi.com (Exit Scam) on: November 24, 2023, 12:02:52 AM
This refund phase looks awfully more and more like an attempt to get many people's credential instead of a real attempt to refund people.

Certainly, data collection via e-mail is quite non-transparent. I won't be surprised if some anonymous people start appearing, confirming how they got a refund from Betnomi. But the ultimate motive for everything that comes from there is still unclear. I assume that Betnomi will no longer work as a gambling site, and the only thing that seems likely to me is that Sorsis wants to have some positive feedback, because "CEO of Betnomi" is mentioned in his biography.
902  Economy / Services / Re: shasan's Escrow Service! on: November 23, 2023, 04:11:23 PM
I have not too much experience in providing escrow.
This is slightly concerning, although you can't really gain experience without doing it. Have you read Best practices for Bitcointalk escrow providers? I've seen bad mistakes made by "highly trusted" escrows in the past.
Add the case where a hacked account got a $1000 loan from you without signing a message, and I'm even more concerned about your attention to details acting as an escrow. Please be careful Smiley

There has to be a beginning sometime. Learning from his mistakes may be expensive, but it is one of the best ways to gain experience. Given that he already deals with financial services, I believe he has a good basis for an escrow offer.
Although I personally would never decide on such a business, there are too many parameters that are difficult to recognize in advance and can turn for the worse.
Anyway, good luck with this shasan, I hope you'll be successful.

Is it just me that this looks like an open book?

An open order book... bids to the left, asks to the right.

Left, green side, what has been read, and right, red side, unknown and still to go through it  Wink
904  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is 1miau fit for DT? on: November 23, 2023, 01:01:59 AM
Conversely, anyone who is Tilda-ing Ratimov (or whatever it is he calls himself these days) is guilty of trust abuse as he (Ratimov) currently has posted no trust feedback.

Bullshit. He earned his tildes with poor judgement, there is no reason to remove them, particularly since his tantrum is ongoing.

He earned the tilde for vindictive editing of his trust list. This was helped by the deletion of posts in his self-moderated threads. The next bad thing he did was delete his threads with link collections, which was once again vindictive towards all the forum members.
One wrong negative feedback that initiated the whole drama was not enough reason for me to distrust him. But all of the above, along with a very aggressive way of discussion, led to only one thing, ~

If we were to remove the tilde now because he deleted all the feedback, that would be a violation of the trust system. It would be pure blackmail, pressure with the sole purpose of removing the feedback that we believe is incorrect.
This is how I saw the whole matter.

TL, I'm really surprised that you, who only deal with things related to reputation here on the forum, don't recognize such clear things.

I apologize to mikeywith and to 1miau for this offtopic, you can continue where you left off.  Wink
905  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: November 23, 2023, 12:42:24 AM
Yes, but I cannot use both options since the minimum quantity of wallets that can be ordered is 100 units.

So have to choose one or the other (and the wallets definitely wouldn't bear the sponsor's name).

I'm not sure which wallet you were thinking of buying and why it has to be the whole lot of 100 pieces, but for example Trezor currently has a Black Friday sale, where the Trezor Model One is $48. If 30 pieces are enough for the contest, that is significantly below the $7,000 budget you mentioned. Even the latest model, Trezor Safe 3, is in that case affordable at €79 regular price. I don't see any conditions for buying a certain quantity.

Should we start a discussion about the categories of this contest, as far as I remember there were several illogicalities in the last selection. For example, miss Bitcointalk, where we cannot claim for anyone whether they are male or female. Some of the votes were ridiculous the last time. Or even, "antihero", where the nominees for the award are mostly due to negative contributions on the forum. It's a bit strange that someone who left a negative mark in the past year is rewarded financially.

Friends, if anyone has ideas for the 4th round of the quiz (related to the history of the forum), do not hesitate to write to me in a PM.

If the questions/answers for the quiz are interesting and have not been published before, then I will be happy to add them to the new quiz.

To avoid duplicate Q&A, perhaps you could leave links to previous quiz rounds. So that those interested could check the earlier questions. Honestly, I don't know which quizzes you mean here. I know that there were several, that some users started on their own initiative.

Let's turn our attention away from phishing scammers, I will make a small digression here by reminding all eligible users about this free raffle. 1 slot left for the Custom UniJoin Card. I am almost surprised that Unijoin's promoters are not interested in the possibility of receiving such a gift.

[FREE RAFFLE] - Custom UniJoin Card, (S/N 6). Only by invitation!

You raised the thread very timely. Yes, we have 1 slot left!

Oh man, I was convinced that you were already a merit source. You seem to understand the forum well, it would be logical to see you in this role.

909  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What are the chances of Binance shutting down now? on: November 22, 2023, 07:18:12 PM
Binance has been fined with about $4 billion. What is more concerning that their image is hampered now and trust of investors is gone who will stay away from the platform. Can this result in Binance getting shut down anytime soon?

I guess then they would first declare bankruptcy and close the business before paying such a fabulous fine. If there is a business closure, it will be caused by future wrong steps (if any).
btw. No matter how much I'm not a supporter of Binance, I still don't like these kinds of revelations about any company.
910  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex is Closing Down on: November 22, 2023, 01:14:04 PM
Basically in early 2017 they lost the competition to up and coming platforms like Binance. So they decided to start scamming to make some money. From there they lost all their revenue and users slowly but surely.
I'm honestly surprised they kept their scam business alive this long.

Already earlier this year there were signs that the end for Bittrex was coming soon. Some very bad decisions, they were among the first to introduce mandatory KYC, even at a time when there was not so much pressure for it. I'm not surprised by what's happening, more like you, I wonder how the hell they managed to last so long. If I remember correctly, they left the US because they were doing business illegally

911  Other / Meta / Re: Losing entire post if you hit back arrow accidently on: November 22, 2023, 12:47:48 PM
Most forums and many websites (like gmail) are able to save your post in a cookie as you type.  If you navigate away by mistake, the post will be waiting for you if you go right back.

Does the billion dollar forum have that feature?  I got so used to it I forgot this forum is so old... :/

It happened to me a couple of times while writing a post, my computer restarted due to a power outage. After rebooting, the text I entered was still there. No special cache settings. (Chrome browser)
Also, the preview button saves the currently written post into a draft and is available there for 7 days. It seems to me that this is quite enough from the "outdated" version of the software.
912  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should Ratimov be in DT1? on: November 22, 2023, 12:37:35 PM
Ratimov could argue he changed his username for privacy reasons. Lol.

I think someone more familiar said here that Ratimov is his last name in real life. From that point of view, this change is completely understandable. He probably should have done it earlier, this way it looks like the drop in ratings initiated the change.

I'm jealous lol! It's been 6 months since I asked to change my username to the admins!  Grin
Sometimes it takes a very tong time, but just hang in there and don't give up. Help me count. How many months were those, minus the time he waited after sending PMs?  Cheesy

If I remember correctly, The Cryptovator changed his username twice in a short period. Still, theymos has proven that he follows events on the forum, although it does not participate in most of the discussions.
913  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should Ratimov be in DT1? on: November 21, 2023, 10:38:36 PM
Ratimov gave multiple reasons over the years.

Ratimov?? Who is Ratimov?  Cheesy You mean Symmetrick?
This drama will never end. Ratimov changed his username, now he is Symmetrick  Roll Eyes

915  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM REPORT] Bitmart.com SCAM, stolen over $100k on: November 21, 2023, 03:31:38 PM
I have the same case with Bitmart today. I tried to withdraw funds but was canceled. I received an email saying that
I have been suspected of money laundering and I have to deposit 100% of my asset ($74K) in order to verify my account otherwise, my account will be permanently frozen.

Please make your own thread with below format and provide as many proofs as you can. For the time being, please also refrain from doubling your deposit like they requested. If they suspecting you of money laundering activity, they'll ask for documentation like SoW-level KYC, not to re-deposit.

This is an obvious phishing scam. There are no legal exchanges that will ask you to make a deposit first to allow you to withdraw. He already presented his scam accusations here Account Frozen Due to Suspicion of Money Laundering And it is obvious that he did not use the official bitmart.com Bitmart site, but phishing site at the address bitmartcn.net

Nice project and a good idea!
I can only sound like a bot until I hold one SatoChip card in my hands. But I like the way it looks. btw. Will it be possible to make a custom card or is only satoshi's account available? (I don't mean only this raffle)
917  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: New line of offshore dedicated servers in Switzerland, BTC accepted on: November 21, 2023, 02:50:29 PM
We would like to offer our new line of offshore dedicated servers.

Can you explain to me exactly what offshore means and what is the essential difference between offshore and dedicated servers? Or is it just a marketing trick, to make the service packages sound more powerful?

Also, To pay with Bitcoin, do you use an intermediary service, a payment gateway, or is the service directly through you?
918  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The story of Betnomi.com (Exit Scam) on: November 21, 2023, 02:29:00 PM
So where have they been all along?
Maybe Betnomi team was trying to create the best story to regain the trust with their words. The good thing is that Bitcointalk community hasn't fallen on their words yet.

I don't like to judge based on assumptions. My red feedback to them is for a reason they just disappeared without any explanation. I believe that they wrote a statement that it will be offline for 6 or 8 months and that it will not be active during that time, that would be a little more acceptable.

If Sorsis managed the betnomi account here from the beginning, it did so in a very bad way. If that's how he managed the casino, then it's no surprise where they are now. A few months after leaving the forum, Sorsis appeared and added everyone who left negative feedback to his distrust list. https://loyce.club/trust/2023-09-09_Sat_05.07h/2532772.html
I'm not sure what he wanted to achieve with this (I'd like to hear his explanation).
Now with the new story, it seems to me that he just wants to remove the "scam" tag next to his name, i.e. the name of his essential reference. This tag may represent a significant obstacle in developing a new business.

919  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: November 21, 2023, 02:04:07 PM
I was checking some email validators, and the response is positive from the servers. Apparently they use the protonmail.ch service.
Now, they may receive emails and not respond for some reason.

If you did not receive an error report or an undelivered message, it is only a confirmation that the support email is active. User @Andrew77Elton5 claimed the opposite thus implying something completely different.

And has anyone tried talking via Telegram?

They were last active on November 17th, quite possibly because of the same user. The appeal was about a similar problem.

I was looking for partners on a new account in anonymity to avoid undue attention.

What did you drink? Your statement is ridiculous since you already reveal "your" identity. Anyway, i'd like to mention phrase "Don't trust, verify".

I think a more appropriate question is what he didn't drink. Sounds like someone who missed therapy.
I wonder how he even managed to solve the captcha during registration. Regardless, this is just another proof of freedom of speech on this forum. Everyone is allowed to trumpet whatever comes to his mind.
