901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can One's Religion Compel A Compulsive Gambler To Quit Gambling on: June 17, 2023, 10:08:48 AM

Can a compulsive gambler that is newly converted to one religion, compel him to stop gambling?

The influence of the religion can totally change your perspective about gambling and if you’re serious with that Religion, you’ll follow it and later on you’ll get used to it. Most of the Religion believes that Gambling is not ok though many are still not following it. The chance to quit gambling just because of Religion is 50/50, some Religion are not that strict. Compulsive gambler is still not an addict gambler, there’s still a big chance for him to quit gambling and with a help of Religion and his activities to that Religion, he can easily stop gambling.
Some religion has zero tolerance for gambling once you are a convert you are expected to adhere to the tenet of their teachings, they kicked against gambling because some believe that the money won by a gambler was lost by another gamblers somewhere which might had hurt that person, while some religion might preach against gambling but kick against addiction i.e moderation in thing they embark on, personally I think participation in gambling is an individual decision, however the most important issue is avoid gambling addiction that might have a devastating effect on the personality of the gambler if possible gamble for fun.
902  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: June 17, 2023, 09:46:32 AM
Have you heard of Superpicks on DSTV? where you can make predictions and win money without staking your money?

if you have not, check it out. Superpicks.com

My question is can it still be called gambling if it is not played with money?
I will also refer it to another form of gambling which is risk free, it also involved little effort and time though a lucky winner will emerge from thousand of people who made prediction, I recall when a bottling company maker of  Coke cola did a promo in my country where customers are expected to open the seal on the cover of the bottled Coke drinks whatever object displayed is what is won by the customer or consumer of course this is another form of gambling which is risk free because you only paid for the drink however if you are lucky you can win TV, these categories of gambling is less harmful and wouldn't result to any bankruptcy though with a very slim chances of winning.
903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Join Pi Network and be a part of the crypto revolution on: June 16, 2023, 08:09:51 PM
It has been year since the pi network was introduced but the coin still has no value. With the huge amount of people mining pi since it was introduced, the supply would mostly be around a hundred million to a billion so don't expect that a single unit of it would be the likes of bitcoin and ethereum.

The coin still doesn't have any value? I thought there are rumors of people selling their coin and they were even making mockery of people like us who have not been minting it.
Actually there are some news which was made by pi network promoters to hype the coin just make look real, infact they mentioned some stores that accept pi token in exchange of goods meanwhile all the gimmick is just to portray the pi network in a positive light, I knew some close friends who mined the coin with the hope of exchanging it with USDT after summiting  and performanced their KYC unfortunately the coin hasn't gotten any value yet and some of these colleagues had "locked up"  their coin just like Stalking cryptocurrency for a period of some years aiming of earning more coin whose value is currently worthless.
904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 16, 2023, 03:12:18 PM
Now it is confirmed. Mahmoud Dahoud leaves Germany from Borussia Dortmund and go to England and Brighton & Hove Albion. He has a contract there until 2027. In Germany, he lost the Championship with Dortmund in the last game of the season, which may have prompted him to play in a other club. As a center player he will play with Alexis Mac Allister, who is also new, he came from Liverpool. And Pascal Groß and he should be able to talk in German, he also plays in the midfield.
It's becoming obvious that Borussia Dortmund players signed by EPL clubs had begin to found their feet in premier league signing of Mahmoud Dahoud from the club by Brighton becomes the third player after Haaland and Akanji who had really established themselves in their respective club, he is going to strengthen Brighton particularly in their defensive midfield as a replacement for Alexis Mac Allister who had joined Liverpool and Caicedo might also join Arsenal, now that Brighton had secured Europa league ticket next season Mahmoud Dahoud will play a major role for the club in both the league and Europa club.
905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 16, 2023, 10:04:03 AM
Upon all these allegations against gambling. People are still Gambling. WHY? Is There Any Mystery Behind?
Some people gamble for fun without addiction which are in majority, however there are some who gambled irresponsibly such that that when they eventually became rekted and bankrupted this became visible to neighbors and close relatives those type of habits portrays gamblers in a bad light which is why parents warn and discourage their kids to desist from gambling activities, from own point of view the number of gamblers who gambled reasonable outnumbered the few addicted ones that is why the numbers of gamblers continue to increase in leap and bounds therefore I don't see the number of gamblers dropping in the nearest future.
906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 16, 2023, 09:34:09 AM
Man City, Arsenal, Newcastle, Man utd and Liverpool I think these 5 teams will compete very tightly in the next season. But maybe Man City will still be the favorite and the most favored compared to other teams. because their performance in the season that has ended has truly proven that there is a big difference in strength between Man City and other teams. And I still doubt there will be a team that can beat Man City in the next season.
I don't sure with Newcastle United will be compete teams for next season, not blame with Newcastle United achievement lead top fourth standing but they have many competition participants and qualifying to Champion League next season make them have busy schedule match.
Newcastle is already lining up top players to be signed in preparation for next season of course playing in UCL as well as premier league will involve having a strengthened club with depth according to this news report link club owners has given Howes go-ahead to sign new quality players and spend funds within the Financial Fair Play (FFP). Honestly they club will compete at the top level with other top teams.
 [/quote]
Exactly, Chelsea is the most compete teams for next season based on my opinion, not participants in Champion League or Europe League make them have many time for getting rest and focus with Primer League only.
Truly Chelsea has a better chances or opportunity to concentrate on the league matches only having been out of any European competitions, however there is tendency of losing some of their quality players due to non participation in UCL or Europa cup thus it up to Pochettino to reposition the club in competing at the top level.

For Arsenal seems they not compete for next season, the same with Newcastle have play in Champion League will make Arsenal busy and think how to make balance with Primer League and keep consistent performance.
Arsenal will also be busy in the transfer window to sign quality players Edu had promised to strengthen the team and Declan Rice was there top priority now at the start of next season the club will well formidable.
907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: June 15, 2023, 04:16:34 PM
This is just the basics, but anyone should be aware of it:

Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.
I also have a fixed amount budgeted for gambling on weekly basis this is just 5% of the total amount of my income once the said amount is exhausted I never bother to fund my account again throughout the week until the next week, however if I earned some profits I do withdraw my money consistently leaving the initial fund in my account.
Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.
I also adopted the method of taking a breathing space once I lost my total fund to gambling for a whole week which is the amount of money I can afford to lose while continue with my daily analysis and exploring ways or other methods of bettings that will guarantee consistent winning.
Avoid drugs / drink as much as possible, they will make you loose some control innevitably.
I have zero tolerance for alcohol or drug thus this has no any issue with my gambling activities having known the implication of taking drug or drinking alcohol while betting.
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 15, 2023, 03:57:22 PM
There are reports that West ham United rejected the first bid made for Declan Rice and that they were unimpressed by both the size & the structure of Arsenal’s first offer. As Arsenal have made him as their primary target this season I expect Arsenal to make another bid, even though Manchester City will also come in for Rice. IMO I think West ham are just playing to get Arsenal to pay up on time. Manchester City don’t need him and Manchester city isn’t like Todd Boehly that would sign player because rivals want to sign him.
West Ham wanted an offer above 100M for Declan Rice from Arsenal which I think that was why they rejected the initial offer tabled by the gunners any fee less than that amount will be rejected while expecting Man City to table there own offer which could surpass that of Arsenal offer, there was a rumour of Gundogan possibly leaving Man City and Guordiola wanted Declan Rice as his perfect replacement, while Arsenal is also cautious of signing players with huge sign on fee that will eventually ended up as a flop just like Pepe who was bought with 70M unfortunately couldn't deliver for the team and also Mudryk who was signed by Chelsea was initially wanted by Arsenal.
909  Economy / Economics / Re: Will chatgpt really destroy the job market? on: June 14, 2023, 08:33:21 PM
Concerns about job mobility and the possibility of AI replacing workers are understandable. As AI technology evolves, there may be a change in the types of tasks and jobs available, and certain roles may become automated. This highlights the importance of promoting education and skills development programs to equip individuals with the skills needed in a growing job market. Furthermore, it is important for policymakers, businesses, and society at large to prioritize ethical considerations and ensure that AI systems are designed to enhance human capabilities. people instead of completely replacing them. Ultimately, responsible and ethical use of AI is essential to ensure that the benefits of the technology are widespread and inclusive, rather than disproportionately affecting a few individuals or groups. certain.

That is why I don't see it as a threat to my job; I see it as an innovation. I am the kind of person who is lazy and wants to automate those tasks that are boring and repetitive. I've been using it right now, and I've developed my own script to automate specific tasks, which also buys me time for my job. Either I go on social media or play games a little while the script is running. What I really want to point out is that it makes your life easier and can become your buddy in your task, as it will do almost everything for you.
I also believe AI is a tool just to support learning and help in providing solutions to complex problems, however according to some reliable source like programmers AI produce or output alot of coding errors which produces bug, though experience coders do rectify those errors or bugs however AI fastened their coding time and I am of the opinion it can't destroy our daily jobs because there some complex task which I believe only human being can handle efficiently which AI wouldn't have any solution to it, however that does not mean we should discard the technology it's use well embrace and utilize it positively to enhance human learning.

Hey Jude, don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.

That is a fragment of the popular song by The Beatles that represents all the feelings of Real Madrid fans at the moment and finally we can see the official announcement from Real Madrid that they managed to bring in Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund. It looks to be the single most successful transfer of the year and we will see Bellingham make his debut in the Real Madrid shirt from next season.

It is undeniable that Real Madrid's squad next season is full of young talent and they will once again try to rule Europe with the star players they just signed this year. Bellingham will be at the Santiago Bernabeu for the next 6 years and Real Madrid's future looks very bright with his arrival.
A very good thing for Real Madrid and I didn't expect less since they have got the penchant for signing young and expensive players. The Santiago Bernabeu is one club that likes giving young players the platform to showcase their skill and prowess and a lot of eyes will be on him.
Jude's move to Real will do a lot to bolster his career especially as the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos' significance are slowly going down, with dedication, he can be on his way to becoming one of the best players in the world.

Real Madrid in recent seasons has prepared a squad for a long time with many young players at the club. It's a good thing for them to do, considering that modern football will rely on potential young players, like Jude Bellingham. But what I'm worried about is that Real Madrid have made a lot of young players successful with them, but they have also made their young players fail to compete in the team and resulted in these players not getting many opportunities and in the end it eroded their abilities. What becomes the next job is that the players must be able to compete considering that the competition within their squad is tight, lest they lose out to compete with other players and result in their careers fading away.
Thid is a big opportunity for the young Real Madrid players like Jude Bellingham, Valverde, Camavinga and Tchouaméni to compete for club midfield roles now that Modric and Kross are already aging while Casimero was already sold to Man Utd thus the arrival of Bellingham to the club means Real Madrid will be parading one of the best and finest midfielders in the world in few seasons to come that will compete at the highest with any club in Europe and with the purported bid to sign Mbappe eventually happened joining Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo in their attack invariably Real Madrid will a force to reckon with in Europe.

How times flies, who would have thought that tender Haaland will hits a goal milestone in a top competitive league like the premier league. There are too many stars to watch this season, but former Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland consistently impresses me during Cityzens games. Erling Haaland will almost certainly be nominated for the Ballon d'Or. The 22-year-old Norwegian international won the Premier League triple in his debut season at Manchester City. Pep Guardiola will develop the goal machine so that he can grip the ball confidently and with solid footing on the ball, which will aid in his scoring ability.
It's obvious Guordiola had successfully fill the area where Man City lack competency which is the striker role since the departure of Kun Aguero now Haaland perfectly fit into the role, Gabriel Jesus former striker wasn't a good goal scorer infact Guordiola do deployed false nine tactical approach in many of their matches which was counterproductive, the club is blessed with quality midfielders like Kevin DeBryne who can create countless assist for Haaland who spearhead their attack will end up scoring many goals thus I am not surprise with his goal scoring spree this season which will continue next season except if he is injured.
912  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 13, 2023, 08:12:18 PM
I was doing a comparison between gambling and trading I find out that their is merging between trading and gambling, I want to explain the categories of trading and gambling from my research gambling don't have to do with skills, but people prefer gambling than trading, .
..
It should be different.
but practically, many people are doing trading like gambling. Just like betting or slots. Sometimes they just bet on what they are trading, without any underlying reason or even post-analysis skills. Trading requires analysis as well as various other keys to success. But if you only apply it like betting, especially if you only rely on luck, this will be very bad.
That is why 95% of traders lost their fund because majority of them trade like a gambler, imagine an inexperience trader triggered a trade blindly without  considering the trend of the price probably placed a countertrend trade because of lack of knowledge of multi timeframe analysis as a result such a trader is bound to experience streak of losses just trading like a gambler, however gambling is a 50:50 chance nothing is guaranteed because an upset can be created in bet that was suppose to be a sure bet,  I am involved in both trading and gambling and I Am convinced that the former  can generate consistent profit than the latter.
913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 13, 2023, 04:35:22 PM
Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?
Yes of course if I luckily win a jackpot that is a huge amount of money in gambling invariably that will put to end of my gambling activities afterall I gambled to earn extra income, fortunately I got more than enough alternative source of income thus I will completely disassociate myself with gambling.

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.
Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.
I will attribute those that went back to gambling after winning huge sum of money due to greediness and addiction probably overconfident that they will more money whereas ended up losing all their fortune, they should have invested their money in other businesses that will yield some reasonable profits, if you have the opportunity to advice them kindly do so.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?
I never won huge amount of money because I gambled with some fund just aiming to win with 2.0 to 3.0 odds, If I aim to win big that means I will have to stake with some huge amount of money and I do avoid accumulator bet because of it high risk.
914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 13, 2023, 11:04:00 AM
I'm not sure if this news has been confirmed but what I know is that PSG also defended Mbappe to stay at PSG. because it will be very bad if Mbappe leaves PSG like there will be no strength anymore after several top players leave PSG.
I can't imagine PSG will be able to do well in the summer if Mbappe does leave PSG but I hope not. because PSG really needs the best players like Mbappe.
I doubt the news, Maybe he likes to leave, but as usual, he will not. Mbappe has been one of the major players in that PSG team. In important games where he does not play, we always see how PSG struggle because that his ability to make quick runs and score with just a touch will be missing in the game. With Messi now out of PSG and Neymar set to leave too, Mbappe knows there will be more responsibility for him. PSG will get new players in the transfer market, that can majorly play with him to win the champions league in PSG, he is not leaving.
If PSG decided to stop Mbappe this season then that is very big risk because if he decides to leave next season that will be on a free transfer which would cost the club a big fortune thus losing millions of Euros, the only way forward is Mbappe to give assurance to the club that he is staying with the club for a long term basis and ready to sign a new contract, however with some recent speculations of his purported move to Real Madrid is unsettling his club,  of course Real Madrid needed a striker to replace Benzema who had left the club while the club is already on the move to bid for  and sign Harry Kane, however I think Real Madrid will  give up on signing him for Mbappe.
915  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria SEC tag binance operations illegal on: June 12, 2023, 06:28:25 AM
Nigeria security and Exchange commission has just tagged the operation of Binance Nigeria exchange as illegal in the country. The countries subsidiary of the global Binance commission was deemed illegal because it has been operating and promoting its services in the country without registration and not under regulations. The SEC warns Nigeria investors of investing or trading on cryptocurrencies on unregulated platforms like Binance. This action by the SEC follows suit after the exchange subsidiary in US was also sued for lack of regulation last week.

Firstly wetin Nigeria SEC dey do no bad, they're protecting the citizens of the country and no matta weda we like am or not they're right with what they just came out to say. Understand say them no dey attack Binance generally but Binance Nigeria just as United States they attack Binance US so. Na follow follow make us do our own now and you no go blame them because na the perfect timing be this for their choppings to come out. Nigeria SEC just want Binance Nigeria to register under them as na so e dey be for this kind business them. Also wetin SEC dun come out talk so, na just warning to Nigerians make e no be like say dem no warn us Incase anything bad was to happen (and I dey suspect say dem believe say US fit run Binance down and e go affect us Nigerian).

All dem dey talk na say anything wey you dey do with Binance Nigeria na at ur own risk, just as them warn us for those ponzi schemes wey we been dey chase around dey through millions so inside. Nigeria SEC wan get their own cut (we know as e dey be) because immediately dem register officially nothing concern Binance Nigeria with SEC again unless dem break rules of the commission then dem go carry EFCC and DSS come pick up who dey head the exchange for Nigeria. All this one fit just be talk talk matter too and nothing go still happen.

This is official response from Binance telegram link
I don't think there is any cause for alarm because of SEC warning against cryptos and tagging Binance as illegal from my own point of view SEC is just trying to copycat US SEC as you rightly said even Binance chart had recently included BTC/NGN on there trading platform that means we can easily buy Bitcoin with naira and from all indication SEC dey try to lure Binance for a possible collaboration wey go give room for imposing tax on crypto related transactions, it's been a long time wey people dey trade cryptos so many of them knew say crypto no bi ponzi scheme and now one yeye SEC think say them fit discourage people from it
916  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin moving with fundamental news on: June 11, 2023, 08:34:17 PM
Bitcoin moving with fundamental news events and the breakout turns to be a fakeout now. Price fully reversed back to the resistance area and rejected again. #BTC back in range, so lets see where the breakout would be.

Presently the price had bounce back and got rejected from the strong support between 25341 and 25651 which is the  fourth time price got rejected now heading to the last resistance, It obvious that the price is still in ranging mode until the price break through the strong resistance at 27347 and 27447 and retouch i.e resistance turn support thereafter we might assume that the price has resume it's bullish sentiment else the price will continue to range between the resistance and the support hopefully a strong positive fundamental news should trigger a massive pump that will break the resistance.

The speculation of Youri Tielemans future has been ended that after he was linked to several big clubs such as Arsenal, AC milan and Liverpool surprisingly he has decide moved to Aston Villa and Aston Villa has get him with free transfer and the detail contract hasn't published yet because Youri Tielemans still has a contract until end of June with Leicester so he will be announce to the public as Aston Villa player on July but in the near future Tielemans will do medical check
Apparently Aston Villa hasn't stopped to bought player because the former of Liverpool player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has into their radar and next season Aston Villa will playing at Europa Conference League so they will buy some players to strengthen their squad
Tielemans is a good player so many clubs had made a bid to sign him in previous seasons ago particularly Arsenal yet pledged his alliance with Leceister City unfortunately Leceister City got relegated thus I wouldn't expect Tielemans a fine and talented midfielder to be playing Championship league, I am not surprise that Unai Emery signed him and definitely he is going to deliver for Aston Villa and get the best out of him in both premier league and Europa Conference League next season, he is just 26 thus having age on his side is another added advantage to Aston Villa, though lately his performance had dwindled last season, I hope he pick form in his new club
918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 11, 2023, 03:37:56 PM
The question is if you're a gambler or have someone who is, what's the best way to help out. And what's your story on escaping that addiction (gambling)...

How do you fight this battle?
Gambling is fun but you should always have your limit and be responsible with your bets.
Escaping addiction is not easy, you have to seek professional advices and ask someone to guide you while you are on the process of recovery. Don’t be ashamed asking for a help because you can’t do it alone and you might fall on the same situation if you didn’t pay attention to this. I fight addiction by being a responsible gambler, its not easy but you have to.
Once I reach my bet limit and lost all the amount of funds deposited in my account in betting I quit for the day note I only deposited and bet with the amount of money I can afford to lose, at times I give myself some breathing space for a week this I often do to avoid being addicted to gambling, even though I have funds to be deposited after losing my funded account yet I always take a break because I believe there are countless betting opportunities ahead or in another day so in a bid to regain my lost bets or chase my losses that day I may continue to lose more funds this is an experience that I passed through and very common among addicted gamblers.
919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 10, 2023, 09:59:10 PM
As has been discussed in many predictions, Manchester City is a team that is actually a reasonable favorite to win the Champions League title. Their performances are good but sometimes they are too bad on defense. Akanji made several mistakes during the match which Manchester City almost conceded, but luckily Ederson was very quick to save the net.

In the end congratulations to Manchester City and all its supporters. Your first Champions League title is secured, and at the same time it will be a perfect season because you won the treble winners. Wow, that's so amazing.

While watching the match, it was safe to say that all the pre-match betting was all unimportant because there was a real battle on the pitch, especially the ending. The last 10 minutes were incredible, Ederson saving his team from at least extra time and essentially bringing them victory
I was indeed really a keenly contested and very competitive match, some pre-match predicted an easy win for Man City with a wide goal margin, however all those analysis failed though Man City won the match but it's a narrow win and with luck on their side because Ederson Man City goalkeeper made two crucial saves to denied Inter Milan an equilizer while one of the goal bound header hit Man City woodwork and statistically Inter Milan had more shots on target than Man City that shows how difficult it is to predict a final match, I commend Inter Milan for putting up a good fight and congratulations to Man City for completing a treble kudos to Guordiola for achieving his target.
920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 10, 2023, 11:44:49 AM
Looks like Lukaku was played at mid-time with the aim of providing sharper counterattacks in order to break through the enemy's defense.
But the enemy they will face is Manchester City so any kind of counter-attack will be difficult to break into Manchester City's goal.
The match that they will play is to fight for the title so that Manchester City will really give full strength to the defense position and the forward position for attack.

Then, what you need to make your team able to break city's defensive line? lukaku was the answer for that. I meant lukaku has everything compared with dzeko. Lukaku does have speed, physical strength, good execution when it must be 1 vs 1 against goal keeper. He is also a good dribbler too. It sounds non sense to put dzeko as favorite striker to be used by intermilan against manchester city. Dzeko was good but when it comes to the speed, dribbling or even strength and i will prefer to take lukaku rather than dzeko at this moment.
It's caused by lukaku can also help its team to give free space for lautaro martinez. It's caused by city will have need more than 1 players to stop lukaku due to the his good physical strength.
He has even better physical strength compared with haaland.
No doubt Lukaku has all the qualities of a complete striker, however I think Inter Milan is considering his defensive ability in tracking back to help the midfielders probably help the team to launch counterattack, it's quite difficult for any opponent to dispossessed Lukaku when he is with the ball because of his physical strength which is another another advantage that he can utilize to create space and chances for Lautaro Martinez whose major strength is his pace and strength as well, meanwhile it's obvious Man City will dominate the match in term of possessions it's up to Inter Milan manager to deploy whatever tactic to absorb the pressure and mark very well.
