don't know how or what you are mining but alls is good here. Mining with 1080. 4 6-card rigs made 40+ coins in one hour. Not matured yet though!

That'll be the difference then, you are mining with over $12,000 worth of cards, i, like most small miners am mining with $400 worth of cards.
That's why there's virtually no chance small miners even bothering anymore.
902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Adnetcoin - Launched - Equihash - GPU Mining on: February 10, 2018, 06:54:53 PM
Completely pointless.
Tried mining 1 hour, 3 gpus and got 1.1 coins in pool, but not paid.
Pools doesn't say what min payment balance is...
Diff way too high already

1 coin per hour out of 20 million total, not worth mining.
I'll do 1 more hour to see if i get paid, but then i'm out
Dev's stop wasting our time and money please.

5 coins two hours mining x10 GTX 1070 haha Dev you're a big joker!

lol @ albanes - 10 x 1070GTX's , no wonder i can't mine with 2 x 1030 and 1 x 1060...Smiley

Hey there,

I was in on this project at the start but put in my fire & forget draw. Was pretty messy for the first few months. Would be nice if this project could be used for something more than 1 or 2 peoples personnel supply, the original dev was a bit of a dubious character i think but had some decent ideas and ability. I wish you luck Smiley

If you do find a use for the coin and want a hand with marketing, PR or pushing on exchanges feel free to let me know, i am also interested in improving my coding but still maybe a bit new to this to offer too much help.

Dekim

ps. I think any future community would benefit from a quick guide to setting up wallet, miner and pool (if there is one now) as the current info is spread over many pages as updated and a number of questions were never answered.

hmm, you were in on this project from the start (nearly 2 years ago) but you are still a "newbie"...sounds a little suss.
More than 1-2 peoples personal supply....it was until the last couple of weeks, when someone increased the hash from 10K to 40K, to 700K+ using 10-20 16 core servers....
To me it feels like a disgused way of advertising your PR skills....all the info you need is on Page 1, download wallet, let it sync, and open console type setgenerate true -1, not really too much to grasp there.

If you really want to help this coin, you could help by persueding the high hashers to lower their hash then we all stand an equal chance, otherwise this will be yet another great old coin killed.

Initial investment is $600. Joined the ship last month with three 8tb seagates. Let's see how long will it take to get my ROI. Grin If the mining difficulty keeps rising and the prices stay the same it'll probably take forever and soon my 24tb  rig will be worthless. Plotting took too long with my laptop and collected only a few rounds of payments in the first month.

Hi, i have a similar setup, and i have worked out ROI to be nearly 2 years at current rates....we're joining about 1 year to late. I believe this coin peaked about 8 months ago.

Hey guys ss. I'm trying to sell my sloth coin... Would anyone like to buy it?Huh I bought it on cryptopia and now people screws up the market and no one call sell on it. Soo how do I get rid of these

How many u got?

ive got 6 million to sell

any ideas how to get rid of them?

Was hoping you'd have an idea, i've been screwed holding a lot more than that...more like 100 mil
Always happens, they gotta try get rich quick and guess what....

So papa, you have done exactly what I thought you might do, even if accidental...

A perfectly working coin is now no longer mineable.

The diff has been raised to a level where no solo miners can mine (which they have been doing for the last year with zero issues). and the only pool listed https://crypto.n-engine.com has exactly 1 miner in it...me !
Yet the nethash is over 10gh/s, so clearly someone now has a private pool and is using MMR or Nicehash...
When will people learn not to fix something that isn't broken....

I see my coins wont even go to cryptopia anymore, any ideas why?
What exactly am I supposed to do with my millions of sloth now please?

J

Sheesh, 6 now in pool, still virtually no hash, but net hash now 30GH/s, do you realise we were all happy mining sloth with simple 750ti's and hitting around 50-100mh/s total, and winning many blocks a day...

oh and now even with 100mh/s, I'm getting 50% rejects,...low difficulty from the pool....fantastic, sloth after years of a great life, has been shot out of his tree, and is fatally injured.!

The next time that you see an ad for one of those gaming computers that comes with a 10 series GPU, add it to cart and see if there is a drop-down to add 2-3 cards at retail price.

lol, looks like you've been watching the same YT vids as me, thats what they are now doing to get round the price increases...
911  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will under 5000 within this month do you think so on: February 06, 2018, 01:12:12 AM
bitcoin price now is under 7000 it will go under 5000 it is real or FUD..who is manipulate this market...
I think that with the current strong selling price, bitcoin prices will fall sharply further to reach $ 5400 today. As the psychology of profit taking before the holidays of Asian investors and the bad news from the Chinese market has made bitcoin decline over the past few days and no signs of increase again.

By the time all the legislation has come into effect bitcoin will be worth $50 at the most.

Can someone experienced with burst mining explain to me what is happening here?

https://imgur.com/a/02nim

I cant seem to get the DL for every block? Or what is going on? For every block im supposed to DL 2 seperate things right? Sometimes i just download one, and sometimes it doesnt even do one! i use Qbundle and mine on 0-100-pool.burst.cryptoguru.org.

Hoping some of you got an explaination for what is happening here  Grin

I believe that quite often you simply don't find a deadline (not enought hdd space), and that othertimes the DL is not confirmed if it falls outside the allowed range for the pool. I see the pool you are on allows very long DL, the ones i mine allow no more then 30days, some allow only 24hr deadlines, so i think that is what you are seeing.
913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ROBO: CPU Minable PoW Coin | Mac/PC/Linux Wallets on: February 05, 2018, 04:06:37 PM
Can you look into the license terms of the original source code (MIT I guess), maybe you could include a closed source code in there.
Or somehow use multiple algos which switch depending on certain criteria.

Thats one i was thinking of too. I know that the source has to be open for most exchanges to accept coin, but can it not be closed initially?
Also up for hash capping if possible...workout whata decent AMD/INTEL desktop pc hashes at, and allow no more than double...for example.
914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Recently started to try HDD Mining on: February 05, 2018, 10:35:14 AM
Hello

Nobody talks about bandwidth used by hdd mining.

I think it is the essential point.

Filling 10 To width ADSL is pretty not possible.

Or I missed something ?

Never been an issue, burst uses virtually no bandwidth that I am aware of.
I have mined it on a mobile connection with no real issues, just a bit of lag that's all.
Also works fine on as low 5mb/s connection out in the countryside.

Calatravo> Oh, that's bad, I was achieving over 1000 with a shitty Celeron 3900, one core and 1 GB of allocated RAM.
Also, I've had to decrease slightly the plotting priority so that the GPU mining wouldn't be affected.

ps_jb> What a huge operation! To scale it to that level, do you use a NAS or some dedicated hardware?
An idea of your cost-per-TB?
Plotting solution?

A cheap old AMD x4 845 (quad core with AVX2) will plot at about 8000 nonces / min
If you are going multi drive, use gpupoltter and plot to say 3-4 drives at once...it will take hours to get the correct settings but when you do, you could plot say 8000 nonces / min on each of 4 drives at the same time...
I don't have my old settings (I plotted last lot with cpu) but with R9 270 I think I was plotting 1TB on 3 drives at about 11,000 nonces/min each, so about 3TB every 6 hours...although NVidia has ocl support, if gpu plotting use an AMD card, must better. (remember to use buffered and then optimise - direct is crappy)

916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Recently started to try HDD Mining on: February 05, 2018, 09:52:51 AM
Hi Guys,

Just my findings.

Plotting....with Ryzen 1700 no o/c about 17,000 nonces / min, so 1Tb takes around 4-5 hours I seem to remember

Mining with 28.92TB getting around 10-30 coins a day...have tried various pools, some people seem to be getting about double what I get but even so 20-60 burst a day is simply not worth it (30 burst roughly £0.70 per day - 4 x 8tb drives cost £760, so about 1000 days ROI) oh and full ring takes 115Watts which in the Uk is about £0.39 a day so profit is about 31p a day...

Not trying to put a downer on things, I really enjoyed mining burst last January, and made around 30,000 which I sold for around 12 sats (up from 6 sats), but now I think you need to have upwards of 100TB to make it worth while, and I honestly don't know how you buy 100Tb of space cheap enough...
I'll keep running through to the summer, but only because I have already bought the drives, but right now if I didn't own them, I certainly wouldn't buy them specially for burst (or storj), simply too low a return.
Talk to as many peeps as poss, some may have much better luck than me, also half the values from any calculators you see online, they really are a very enthusiastic guide.
Also in terms of expected difficulty there are several miners building 1PB (1000TB) rigs which will be live in the next few weeks, so diff will jump massively...so go careful and enjoy.

You just said that the market is going to tank, and that we should invest in a shitcoin, in the same post...
Yup, better than to lose a few dollars invested rather than 1000's in dead gpus, give it 3 months and no one wil be able to sell a 1080ti for $400 even...there will be literally 10,000's of gpus hitting the 2nd hand market come summer when everyone gets bored with all this....all those trolleys of gpus are gonna come back to haunt us...
918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Impossible to Buy GPUS on: February 05, 2018, 09:27:58 AM
If you can obtain one/some 1080 ti's in the $600- $800 USD range, then definitely go for the card(s).  If over $1000 USD, maybe better to buy Bitcoin during the ongoing dip and HODL until supply & demand and Volta corrections occur to the Nvidia GPU markets.
This is the state of the UK gpu market...No1 supplier in the UK

https://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/gpu-nvidia/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-graphics-cards

Cheapest card in stock £950 or $1350, and you can only purchase 1.

Crazy!
I don't get it, BTC has fallen through the floor, the legislation will stabalise it, but it's going to drop much lower, probably back to around $1000 a coin, and that will lower all crypto by same amount, peeps are never going to make the cost of the cards back.

Rather than buy equipment, just buy coin, far better option at the moment. Go but 1,000,000 of some 1 sat coin and when you sell it at 2 sats you'll have made more money than you ever will mining.
Don't encourage the gpu war 1 more day...think smart, not hard.
J

oh, if you must go buy gpus, buy 1030gts and rx550, you'll have a better roi on them than any other model at the moment...well until they all sell out and double in price Smiley
919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ROBO: CPU Minable PoW Coin | Mac/PC/Linux Wallets on: February 05, 2018, 09:09:38 AM
cpu minable in sha256 roflmao!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy...  Cry

It was a good try anyway.  I just hope some of you guys out there with normal computers got some rewards.

i have a simple computer, and "old" amd 8300 eight core, and have founded 6 blocks , but since the difficuty increase so high, i think it will not be mineable for me.

It would be interesting that more dev, will add algorithm to the mine such as yescriptr16, yescript, "scrypt: 1048576"

if it's mineable, but if an asic goes into the game, it will destroy without much effort the miners cpu´s of the chain

Good luck to you all  Smiley

The only issue with these algos, is they are all better mined with gpu...and pools
Much better if dev can somehow lock this to wallet only and cpu only...
J
920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ROBO: CPU Minable PoW Coin | Mac/PC/Linux Wallets on: February 05, 2018, 09:06:41 AM
Unfortunately this project will have to open up in the traditional way for ASICs and others.  That's ok, I'd rather see it live on than die.

Note to all, I'm going to adjust the PoW scheduling to react better with ASIC level hashing.  It'll be more or less the same as it is now with less extreme difficulty adjustments.  And... as with the 0.15.2, this next release will be a mandatory update.  I'll keep the board well informed of the status.

No No NO! To ASICS...
Please don't do that.
That makes this coin no different from every other broken ASIC coin....please stick with the plan.
If people don't want to stay, fine, let them go, but enough people will stay to mine coin.
It only needs 2 people to actually keep coin alive, and from there it can grow steadily over time.
Please try and limit back to cpu only via wallet only...if you do, your coin will stand alone against a tide of sh*t coins...
Give it a chance...as they say Rome wasn't built in a day
