902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Procrastination, Buy Bitcoin And Prepare For The Next Halving. on: July 19, 2023, 06:13:27 AM
Don't follow this advice if you don't have a steady paycheck or a multiple income stream, trust me, if you aren't any of them, you are a going to need every cents you have to live by until your next paycheck, don't be enchanted of the fact that if you invest in bitcoin that you just have to wait it out until halving when the skyrocket in price is a guarantee, don't be fooled, be grounded in reality. Now if you aren't any of what I've mentioned above, you need to be smart about how you invest in, don't just put all of your savings in one go, you might think that you can endure the pain of seeing your investment go down but trust me, you will panic especially if it's a large amount. Invest wisely, even if it's bitcoin.
You come off as wee bit ill-informed blckhawk.

So each person is responsible for their own decisions regarding whether to invest into bitcoin and how much to invest into bitcoin in accordance with their own individual circumstances, and also it likely would be better to learn about bitcoin too, but surely there are a lot of people who invest into bitcoin but really don't even know anything about bitcoin except for the belief that it is number go up (NGU) technology.
Ill-informed? I was just saying that before people buy bitcoin, that they should check the reality around them, that they might not be able to afford to invest in it because they lack the excess money from their paychecks which I think is logical. Of course they are responsible for their own decisions, it doesn't hurt to pitch in ideas so they can further think about their next step. I don't know much about those people that you are talking about but in my opinion, those people are not so different from the clients of the Wallstreet stockbrokers, they may have some knowledge but I don't think I can classify them as someone that knows what they're talking about when it comes to stocks.

904  Other / Meta / Re: The problems newbies face on: July 18, 2023, 09:47:39 AM
So once I post something good like how many paragraph .
A good post is subjective, it can be a large wall of text or it can be a short statement. The point being is that you should know what you're talking about and you have the capacity to convey it in such manner that it's not boring to read if long but gets the point across if short.

I wouldn't say that this forum is hostile to newbies, a lot of the old users here are just tired of dealing with spammers and other entities that don't really want to contribute to the forum hence they may seem like unapproachable. If you really want to learn about bitcoin, you wouldn't mind their attitude and just try to learn something, real recognizes real as the saying goes.
905  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] The most generous users giving merits on: July 16, 2023, 09:02:07 AM
Merits seem to be acting as a yardstick for post quality, and even though it seems like those poor lower-ranked members are being ignored/neglected/whatever, I think what we're seeing is just a brutally honest system at work.  The merit system is akin to natural selection in nature where the weak posters get stuck at Jr. Member, good ones make it further, and really good ones get to Legendary.  Them's my thoughts, anyway.
If we're talking about post quality and the fact that some of us feel like lower-ranked members that post quality replies are getting ignored or neglected, I think that it's high time that we do the thing again where veteran forum users or just forum users with a good judgment recommend posts that are neglected or are in-between other replies that are of quality and share it to other users for them to check out so they can judge for themselves if it's merit worthy, I've seen a thread like that before here although I don't feel it's presence at all, maybe incentivizing those who recommend those posts might work but who knows, I'm probably talking bull here.
906  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in English in a Local Section on: July 16, 2023, 07:00:41 AM
Personally, I highly value any user who takes the time to visit the Portuguese tab, read an entire topic on the subject (using a translation tool), and then takes the time to, in a very respectful and humble way, leave their opinion. in Portuguese. I think this gives value to the content that is generated in my language.

It is true that there is this rule ("unofficial"), to avoid abuse and translations of entire topics made by machines. But for everyday situations, I don't see any harm.
I think we should make this a norm, people that don't speak the language try to engage in that said language by giving their opinion with the help of translation tools. I don't get the abuse part though? Is it the possibility to abuse local boards in the case that you've run out of boards to post in to try and meet the quota of your campaign? If it's the case then the campaign manager can just not count the posts in the local boards, a lot of campaigns already do that right? Another thing that irks me is the demonizing of machine assist, that's stupid in my opinion especially in this case, you want to talk to someone, what better way to do that than speaking their language but oh no, because you are using a translation tool, you can't which is sad because imagine all of the missed opportunity to interact with more people. This forum always talks about community, but this kind of interaction with the help of a machine to create a bridge against language barrier is frowned upon.
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 14, 2023, 04:04:46 PM
Snip
We are actually brainwashed by most people around saying that banks are a good institution when saving money. But never been told that they are just using our money for their sake of multiplying it and earning much than us.
Brainwashing is a big word but I can see where you're getting at, but that's pretty easy to be removed, teach people not just to read but also question what they're reading, that's what's scare the system the most, a curious public that thinks for themselves. Also, we really need to destroy the current banking system, fractional reserve banking keeps bailing out the motherfuckers in Wall Street together with their criminal cronies.
908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 11, 2023, 12:23:09 PM
I started as a student too, I didn't paid it much attention early on but eventually the curiosity got the best of me and I explored and having watched documentaries about banks and how they are a broken system and the movie The Big Short, I think that it's time that we probably shouldn't rely too much on banks. It's a good thing that a lot of people have started young when they've learned about bitcoin, it's a sign that our generation will be one of the factors that will cause the demise of our current banking system.
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investment in bitcoin on: April 26, 2023, 09:12:06 PM
Nah, it's just that most of us got introduced to bitcoin first that we associate bitcoin as a gateway to investing when in reality it could be anything that involves finances. All in all, it's still a good thing though, when you are investing on something then you're one step closer to financial stability than most people.
910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which one is important? Knowledge or Experience? Or both in Bitcoin Learning! on: April 23, 2023, 03:47:21 PM
I think knowledge will have to come first, experience is something that you get along the way.  Here's an analogy, knowledge is a map and experience is journey, the map has all the information you need but you need to trek the terrain personally or you will never grasp the full scope of the information. Knowledge and experience go hand in hand.
911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think China is playing a double game? on: April 23, 2023, 02:52:33 PM
You didn't point out their biggest play right now which is strengthening BRICS and having the countries of that organization be convinced that they should abandon the USD as a reserve currency, their current play isn't in crypto right now, and to be honest, I think that they're close to winning in that part.
912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today is the story of my investment in Bitcoin on: April 21, 2023, 01:34:51 PM
For sure OP got into hard times in the past months because it was very rough for him with the price and right now he sees green.  Though it was risky move on my end and for sure for couple of weeks i cant sleep well thinking about my loans and borrowed money , though most of all of us will say it is not good idea to take out a loan but you have it already so what i do suggest is try to find like another source of income while holding your bitcoin just to be safe that you can pay off your debts.
That's what I would do too, I think it's a pretty awesome that you haabe a source of income without the worry of your bitcoin being spent for emergency and rest easy throughout the whole ride towards the bull run. Debts and loans are a haard stuff to deal with especially if you have a family to provide to, debt and loan is inevitable if you're salary isn't enough.
913  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advise to a friend on: April 20, 2023, 04:37:00 PM
40% is a lot of money to invest in something that's volatile, you better keep that advice to your self because the amount that you are recommending isn't really a good percentage, I think the best course of action would probably be to make your friend aware of bitcoin, don't force them into getting in because when they're in and the prices starts plummeting and your friend will likely panic, you will be the first one to take the blame. Ease your friend into investing, give them other options because you sound like you want to control the choices of your friend.
914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No late comer in bitcoin Investment. on: April 18, 2023, 08:06:37 AM
I understand the concern about the price of Bitcoin being high, but I think it's important to remember that Bitcoin is a long-term investment. Just like any other investment, there will be ups and downs, but over time, the value has consistently grown. So, if you're willing to hold onto your investment for a while, there's a good chance you'll see a return on your investment.
Exactly, that's why it's important that we have to change the way we see things, instead of short-term goals, we should consider long-term unless there's something that's hindering you from going to that point then other things can be set aside. One advice that stuck with me is that for things to move in your life, you must first take the step and jump right in, not a profound advice but it's definitely a practical one.
915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and dollar on: April 17, 2023, 10:47:14 AM
More or less, it's indirect. When USD weakens, bitcoin becomes more valuable but when the opposite happens bitcoin is affected negatively, it is an influence but it's not a direct impact so the relationship of bitcoin and USD isn't something we shouldn't worry too much.
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's NOT a good time to invest in BTC. on: April 17, 2023, 09:13:51 AM
I think that it's a bad time to buy bitcoin if you are planning to spend all of your money in it and then hodling until the prices surge, I disagree that it's not a good time because I believe that you can easily buy your goal amount piece by piece. I think this is a high time to accumulate your bitcoin hoard because the halving is getting ever near and we all know what happens to the market during and after halving.
917  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin tops $40,000 after Musk says Tesla could use it again on: April 14, 2023, 04:17:03 PM

The article was published back in June 2021.

I thought I was late to something and haven't heard about the jump of the price of bitcoin which was 30k around 3PM EST, thought I missed out. To OP, I think you should check out the date of the article because it's misleading in a way. Good thing that I didn't know that Tesla hasn't been using bitcoin as payment for their products and services so in a way, I was still informed.

Quote
The dogs are barking Quixote.

A sign we move forward Sancho, a sign we move forward.

― Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Don Quixote: Man of La Mancha

Pretty awesome quote, now I'm looking forward to reading that, been holding back on Don Quixote for a really long time, 'tis a sign I guess.

Do people really pay in Binance though? I'm curious because I see this all the time whenever I eat on my favorite and I don't see a lot of electronic transactions done through this so it got me thinking whether they are being used or not. Options are a good thing so I don't mind having that, maybe when I one, I might try paying that way.
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you assess the value of Bitcoin? on: August 08, 2022, 02:30:10 PM
Hi all,

How do you (personally) decide when Bitcoins are a buy? - gut feeling, just DCA to a certain amount, only buying below 25,000 or ...?

Thanks!
I think DCA is much better to use especially in this period or if you were just new in the market. Besides the marketcap that bitcoin does have, it will certainly increase its value over time, so using DCA as your strategy is not a bad idea compared to relying on your gut which is kinda vague and has no certainty. To be honest, if I only knew that Bitcoin would have this much growth then I might not have spent some of my Bitcoins before.
