361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saudi Arabia 1M BTC BUY !! on: January 23, 2024, 02:25:30 PM
It's still just a rumor, don't be too hasty thinking that it's something that will be influential in a positive way because it's probably not even true at all. What's even the reason why they're planning to drop that much money into crypto though? 500 billion is a lot of money so it's probably just a rumor or maybe the truth is that it's a much smaller amount.
362  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Step you have to take before venturing into the market on: January 21, 2024, 09:50:06 AM
Knowledge is the most important key in order to make the most profit from the market. Without knowledge it’s impossible to make even 1 cent from the market. So it’s very obvious that you need to educate yourself more and more before actually placing a trade. Secondly the most important thing is managing the funds/bankroll. Trade the amount that you can afford to lose. I have seen many newbies dive into trading because with trading they can become rich overnight. But that doesn’t happen at all.
Together with knowledge, you also should consider being wise. It's a much more royal version of knowledge because you can almost apply it anywhere and with wisdom, you will also be able to stop yourself from making bad decisions that's disguised as good or presents itself as a good decision.
363  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What would you to like to see in a crypto investing bot? on: January 21, 2024, 08:59:56 AM
It's simple, it can trade for me and the margin of error for it's trades are close to 1%, that's the only thing that will make me want to use a bot. It should also include the fact that it's dumb proof like you just need to do some small set ups and then you can start doing the trades, it might seem like an impossible dream for others but I do believe in the power of AI and that if it becomes perfected, it will probably help with all the automation and stuff. I do hope though that the current problems with AI is a temporary and not a big obstacle that will stop the development because I think that there's a future to this, I just hope it's not the Skynet AI future though.
364  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No one has gone broke taking profits, always take profits. on: January 21, 2024, 08:11:04 AM
There's also the reinvestment thing too, you can put your profit back into trading so you can generate more profit for yourself. I can't really attest to that adage that no one has gone broke but wouldn't you not be growing in terms of investing because you keep using the profits for other stuff that don't involve investing? I totally agree that we should take profits but take it in a smart way, don't be taking when you know that the potential for more profit is going to be even higher, take the time to assess before taking that profit, sometimes we're so overjoyed about it that we forgot that we could've made more if we just waited a little bit.
365  Economy / Reputation / Re: Sedinvore shady AI seed finder and paid puppets on: January 21, 2024, 07:07:36 AM
Sedinvore didn't even bother to create a sock puppet account that will be asking different questions like what the other shady members do in the forum, I guess it's not worth it to spend some level of meticulousness with their scams and lies but I'm just here to laugh at these people, they want the quick buck and now someone's busted them so they've got to start all over again.
366  Economy / Reputation / Re: User snuffman8 spread false/fake information on technical board on: January 21, 2024, 05:56:36 AM
He wants to appear to have mastered the technical part, most likely, but if what he says can mislead other people who read it, of course people who don't really understand the wallet field will think what he says is true.
He wants to appear to have mastered but the problem is that he wasn't able because he didn't have an any amount of knowledge to at the very least check what the hell is the AI generated text talking about, if he knows something, then there wouldn't a be a thread like this that will talk about his issues. I guess this is also a call out to those people that want to talk about things, make sure that you know what you're talking about or you risk getting laughed at.
367  Economy / Reputation / Re: Obvious Merit Scammer / Merit Buyer created a “Raffle” thread lol on: January 21, 2024, 05:08:03 AM
Jesus, are people still buying/selling merits anywhere, not just on bitcointalk but on other platforms?  Seems like it's been a long time since I've heard about crap like this.  I'm actually curious as to what a single merit is going for on the black market, assuming such a market still exists.

Fuck that member.  Even if he had an alt account with merits to give away, my guess is that it was a scam attempt or some other shenanigans.
They're buying/selling merits because you and other merit sources have been chill about giving merits to people on this with your post reviews with merit rewards Grin, kidding aside though, it should be no surprise that it's still a lucrative thing to do because there's people that see the forum as a potential place for you to earn bitcoins just by being active on the forum and discussions and for that reason, there's people that want to take a shortcut and not spend anytime improving the quality of their posts and that demand is actually being fulfilled by some shady people in the forum that has the ability to provide that demand, it's a never ending battle that will only be ended if people starts getting principles. It doesn't even matter if this is a scam or not, it's a lose-lose situation to whoever buys from this dude because people will find out.
368  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: January 20, 2024, 09:28:21 AM
If I remember correctly, at least there was a discussion about the fact that anyone who votes for the post in which he is nominated, that vote is disqualified. Now I see that franky1 rewarded some posts that nominated him with merit.
Is this franky1's try to avoid the AntiHero award? I must admit an interesting strategy, now it deserves this label even more.  Cheesy

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=65837
More like he's trying to be the anti-hero, breaking the rules and challenging the system, isn't that how @franky1 should act with the award nomination for the Anti-Hero category, isn't that the most anti-hero thing to do? Definitely a strategy but I think that he's probably just doing it for the heck of doing it.
369  Economy / Reputation / Re: Farewell on: January 20, 2024, 08:43:04 AM
Hey man, I don't personally know you but take care and may the time that you're spending with your family and loved ones, will be the happiest that you are and the most memorable for them. I sometimes forgot that there's real people behind this accounts and that the age of the people here is varying. Thank you for your contribution to this community, this forum won't be the same without you.

370  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Something on: January 20, 2024, 08:21:32 AM
When the leaving wave from Grayscale ends, the market will calm down. Don't let this short term movement affects your own long term investment plan.
Hopefully what they're doing is going to allow me to invest into bitcoin at a lower price and get some profit, I wouldn't say that I agree or disagree totally with the advice to not let this influence how you invest for the long-term when this can be a useful knowledge in terms of buying bitcoin or shorting bitcoin to gain a profit, it will affect my plan but in a positive way.
371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why people mostly fail in trading on: January 20, 2024, 07:45:55 AM
most mistakes of traders are;
* Having no proper training in the craft to attain knowledge about it.

* Having no experience traders that is good in the craft to guide them.
Not everyone has an access to this so in a way it's not really a mistake on the newbie trader side, some people just started trading and they just gained their own experience through continuous losses and gains and even if they try and find a school that does this exact thing, they're going to get nothing out of that because the market is volatile and they might not even use a lot of the stuff that they've learned in that school when the actual trading happens, mentors are expensive especially if you don't have a connection.
372  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make a life by Day Trading on: January 20, 2024, 06:43:15 AM
Which one's more advantageous though? Low leverage or high leverage because I do think that with their risks being different, there's got to be one that's better than the other for day trading. I'm really curious how people make a living out of this specially those didn't have any kind of other ways to make money besides this, and if they're really getting a net positive in terms of quality of life and work balance because if I recall correctly, day trading takes a large chunk of your time in a day.
373  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: January 20, 2024, 06:02:33 AM
Not really, it's just a much riskier way of trading and just because the odds are about 50% win or lose doesn't mean that it's the same as gambling, it's not as mindless as gambling because you're going to need a lot of brainpower for the analysis of the charts and the pattern that the current market movement is showing. Also, the uncertainty to win your gamble in gambling is so low compare that to future trading where the chance of a win is the same with losing. To be honest though, it's tiring to argue whether trading or gambling is the same and in my opinion it's fruitless blabber to decide if it's the same or not, people have different ways that they see things and it's not like this debate would be world ending if it's not settled.
374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Higher and lower risks in gambling is the gamblers choice. on: January 19, 2024, 09:26:20 AM
It's logical that the most likely to lose or the unfavorable result would get the higher odds, that's how you make money in sportsbetting, you attract them with high odds thinking that it can be promise for you to get a really high return when you bet on it when in reality, you're likely falling to a trap set by the organizing party. Gambling has always been high risk, we just got used to it that we didn't think too much about it and we get surprised when this happens and we're having the epiphany about the risks that gambling entails, no matter how much we want to bend the cards, toss the dice or gently pull the lever, the outcomes will always be at the mercy of probability.
375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: January 19, 2024, 08:36:01 AM
Now I do agree with that, winning the lottery is unlikely to happen to someone in their lifetime and you're likely to die going to the lottery outlet than win it, so here's my question, how the hell on Earth is my country got a lot of lottery winners for about 2 years now? It's consistent and it's also happening multiple times on the same places, the rifeness of corruption in my country is just too appalling, the stolen money goes even up to $10m and someone just suddenly won something that a lot of people thought was impossible, I hope that the investigations to this blatant corruption scandal is going to be investigated because I'm sick of the fact that they're exploiting the system meanwhile a lot of people in the country is below the poverty line, I know that this is off topic but I just want to share. Maybe a system that announces the identity of the lottery winner should be a thing in the cases that there's doubts the game is rigged.
376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cashout or wait till the end? on: January 19, 2024, 07:59:31 AM
~
Not being greedy is the key to everything when we can get that much money from our bets. If they see a lot of money like that, we better cash it in before everything changes because when it changes, we will miss the moment to cash it in and regret it. With that much money, we can use it for our needs and also prepare our future so that it can be better. We can also open a new business that can help us make even more money. We have to be wise in situations like that and must be able to suppress greed because we don't know what will happen at the end of the game. And because we can see the huge amount of money, we should cash it in. But if people still want to wait until the game ends, we can't force them because that's up to them.
I agree, you're right that not being greedy is the key but think about this, can you really do it if this really happened to you or to anyone here in the thread? The answer wouldn't be genuine no matter how much we want to believe it because there's no way to really prove that we will be doing what we're saying, you know the thing about all bark no bite thing, can we really follow up on what we're saying? The optimal thing to do as you've said is to just get the offer but the problem is that you'll be asking a lot of what ifs in your brain, what if I stay and let this pan out? What if I just go for it? The burden of regret is too much sometimes so even if we do believe that we're going for the cashout option, some part of us is itching to risk it all.

We will never know what his nephew did after getting orders from him. Yes, most children and teenagers like his nephew would probably ignore what he was told and not carry it out, but hopefully, he was a good teenager who would listen to his advice. While he is still a teenager, there is no harm in teaching him about investing because that is one way to gain profits in the future. Bitcoin is the best investment his nephew can use to prepare for his future. Hopefully, his nephew will listen to his advice to invest or do other more useful things.
That's what I've been saying, instead of toleration, OP should've considered telling his nephew an alternative instead of just telling the dangers and the negatives of gambling, there's a lot of stuff that you could probably tell that person that doesn't involve gambling or tolerate it. I don't trust people by standard so I came with that conclusion that the kid's probably lying but that's all there is to it. At the end of the day, it's that kid's life, if he chooses to go down that path of having a gambling problem then let him go down that path I guess.
378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The PCSO Lotto is shrouded in doubt due to the picture of the winner shown on: January 18, 2024, 09:00:09 AM
I still don't get why the people aren't mad about this stuff because this is as blatant they can be with how they stole the public funds, they do it this way and this has been going on for a long time in that government agency but no one bats an eye because the people that are in power are all making money out of this too so it's not in their interest that this is going to be investigated and the people behind this scheme being litigated, I just hope that more and more people are getting aware of this because when things are this bad, imagine what's happening to the stuff that's happening behind the scenes. This is a trend right now in the Philippines, this is how the corrupt officials and politicians get their stolen money now because you can opt out to not reveal your identity, the tracks are much more concealed for these corrupt people.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 18, 2024, 07:55:45 AM
That's a severe case already OP, if you can still do it, try going to a rehabilitation center or a mental healthcare professional to assess and help you with your issue, I know that depression is a difficult thing to get out of but remember that your sadness and loneliness that you're feeling is justified and it's no reason to end your life because there's more to it, you may not see it yet because of the veil that's put on you by that extreme feelings of sadness but it's there and you don't have to be so quick about your recovery, take the time to do it even if it's snail's pace, take that step. I can't really sympathize or get exactly what your feeling because we've got different experiences but I do believe that we're all the same when it comes to the fact that there's good things coming in the future.
380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: January 18, 2024, 07:22:12 AM
Are you really sure that your nephew is doing what he's telling you and that he's not going to be a problem with that gambling habit of his? The reason for that question is that children and teenagers like your nephew is likely to lie about stuff and tell what you want to hear from them so either they got to do something about this habit because it looks innocent and harmless at first but it's going to be a problem right before your eyes and it's going to catch everyone off-guard, that's how it works. Tell your nephew too that there are other better ways that he can spend his money that's not even his money in the first place, teach him to invest or get a healthier hobby.
