621  Economy / Speculation / Re: 127% Up from Bottom in 2022 on: October 26, 2023, 09:34:54 AM
Yup, if we draw a line from the beginning of the year maybe we will see that the price of Bitcoin has increased, and an increase of 127% is a good performance for Bitcoin this year.
I think the movement of Bitcoin may vary in the future and the current bull market is only temporary before it reaches the halving. But even so, the increase in the price of Bitcoin does not stop and HODLing for a long period of time seems worth it.
HODLing will forever be worth it, I don't know when has HODLing not become a worth it. Of course it will always vary, there's no direct and absolute direction for the market even if everyone believes that bitcoin will not go down at "this" price but then the markets proves everyone that that "this" price has become a reality. I'm not trading a lot and I'm not a graph guy so I was surprised that the overall market performance of bitcoin is still pretty much on the positive side, I guess it's all the bearish news that I've been seeing while scrolling through my social media that got me to think that bitcoin isn't doing well but I guess I'm proven wrong and I will gladly take that I am wrong in that stuff.
622  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could Bitcoin Hit $1 Million by 2026? Arthur Hayes Makes Exciting Forecast on: October 26, 2023, 08:48:01 AM
Hayes believes bitcoin will be worth at least $750,000. Public people keep playing the game of who will have the higher prediction. Games like this have been around for quite some time. I remember back in 2017, they were predicting an imminent price of $500,000 and even $1 million. These claims are just a PR attempt, it's just another news buzz that shouldn't be taken seriously.
But the masses and his followers take it nonetheless, and what he's planning is definitely going to happen because he's still able to generate the hype. But to be fair to him though, he's the kind of person that helps people not lose hope when the prices of bitcoin isn't doing fine and some people just want something even a lie to hold onto.
623  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will $BTC soar beyond 35K or dip below? 🚀📉 on: October 26, 2023, 07:21:36 AM
At the op by replying over and over with your link included you shit on your own thread.
So people will end up not replying to it. You will lose our interest.
I let out a witch cackle when I read this post and I'm reading this thread at the office so it feels awkward but I don't care, this made me laugh.
I know right, the people seems attracted to bitcoin etf and yes it is very attracted but any screenshoot or simple news can make the bitcoin price up and down for a couple of hour. I think there is a person behind these all news lately and maybe trading before made any news.
Of course there is a person behind all of this but I don't think it's their intention solely to get the bitcoin prices to go up, it's just probably a byproduct of what they're doing and I believe that if there's an entity behind that really wants to control the price movement of the market, Whale reports would be coming which is probably the only way that someone can manipulate the market and so far, there's no talk about that despite the prices going up.
624  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $5k rise within an hour plus. on: October 26, 2023, 04:58:46 AM
The sudden rise in bitcoin is what I don't still understand how it happen, but I know that we are close the the halving and one should expect a pump in bitcoin price but not as high as this. I could remember how many times forum members have speculated that bitcoin price will not cross 33k by the end of this year, but right now still in the month of October we have seen the highest rise in bitcoin price since 2022. This shows that bitcoin is a good asset to invest in and anyone that has bought yet can still buy because nobody knows what bitcoin price will be by the end of this year. If ETF Bitcoin is approved by January, it means that bitcoin price will go above 120k as the new ATH.
It's probably of the oncoming decision on the status of bitcoin ETF that a lot of people are buying bitcoin right now because they know that if that decision is a positive is positive then there's a possibility that the price of bitcoin will go up and not to mention that historically, bitcoin price is positive during this months towards December so add that to the current happening and you're never going to be surprised that bitcoin is going up this fast.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The PATRIOT Act comes to cryptocurrency on: October 26, 2023, 03:36:45 AM
Is leaving the US a possible option?
A much easier option than that in the short term is just to close all your KYCed accounts and use bitcoin peer to peer as it was intended in the first place. Long term I would say leaving the US is a good plan for a whole host of reasons, given the mass surveillance machine the US government has turned in to.
People should have left a long time ago if you asked me, Snowden's leaks should have been the lynchpin to the decision that people should leave US, but it just fizzled out through the years and people just moved on but the mass surveillance was still going on which is scary but if we're talking about mass surveillance, I don't think that China and other totalitarian regimes around the world would probably shame US in their mass surveillance programs, if only Bush didn't masterminded the 9/11 attacks, this whole thing wouldn't happen.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The PATRIOT Act comes to cryptocurrency on: October 25, 2023, 02:59:01 PM
Is leaving the US a possible option? Because I've replied in an earlier post that being an expatriate working outside of the US but still making US pay grade and possibly living in other country might be an option against this act against cryptocurrency. The Carribean might be a good option, it's near the US and it's outside so you can still visit family or are they still able to tax you even if you live there?
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you leave the country or will you stay, stand up and fight for your right? on: October 25, 2023, 02:12:23 PM
Even if we will eventually saw that influence, it's going to take a long time because US can't directly meddle in other countries' sovereignty even if they want to, the best thing that you can do in this situation is either get out of mainland USA and go to one of its territories, maybe even go to the Caribbean and get a remote work that you can do anywhere around the world, a lot of expatriates are doing this already so do it now before they see that it's a loophole.
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can 1 Bitcoin buy in your country? on: October 25, 2023, 11:11:08 AM
With the current bitcoin price of 34k, I would probably just buy myself 2 of these Toyota Trueno AE86, and if I'm lucky I might buy 3 and the leftover money would be used for restorations and then I can sell these restored bad boys to other car enthusiasts that are a fan of the anime Initial D, this car was the main car of the protagonist and 90s kids who got the money will pay top dollar to have one.

629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Instagram Banned Bitcoin on: October 25, 2023, 07:18:14 AM
In my opinion, Instagram is not very popular among crypto users. Instagram is still under one roof on Meta. Instagram's focus is on social media which is full of endorsements, a place for the world of advertising and flexing. Bitcoin doesn't need that. Do you know why cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini never appear in TV advertisements? Because they know TV viewers will not be able to buy such classy, quality, luxurious and expensive cars. You know the conclusion, right?
It's for influencers so they can talk picturesque photos without the worry that the quality will be diminished and your analogy is on point (have a cookie) plus the people that's promoting crypto on Instagram are probably scammers or influencers that are selling you courses you don't really need, if they say in their posts that they can make you rich the way that they made money by giving them a follow while leaning on that Lamborghini or sipping champagne on that private jet, they're going to sell you shit and that Lamborghini and private jet was rented and that champagne was probably the cheap kind you can buy from any liquor store. My point is there's nothing to worry about Instagram banning bitcoin in their platform, they're hurting the scammers and scummy crypto influencers anyway.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will it affect your life if bitcoin price comes to $1 million per bitcoin? on: October 25, 2023, 05:43:02 AM
With the amount of bitcoin I currently have, it's not going to affect me that much although I could probably buy myself a decent house in a decent neighborhood and keep my day job so all that I have to worry again is probably paying the bills. Which I think is a nice thing since that would mean that there's a big goal achieved already and I don't have to worry about working hard for it because I've got it so fast. This question is one of the reasons why I continue to accumulate bitcoin no matter the price point is because I know it's going to pay off big time in the end.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 7,000 bitcoins locked on USB stick. Owner not rushing to unlock them on: October 24, 2023, 03:17:43 PM
Maybe he had already lost the coins permanently, maybe it was all a lie, or maybe he's so wealthy that an extra $240 mills doesn't make much difference to him.
They're all a possibility but I don't believe that the first one is a likely thing. The second one though, I need to see a proof of his lavish lifestyle just his net worth, because even if you're a rich person I am pretty sure that you're still going to worry about that money not being on your hands and there's already an offer from someone that can open it for you. I feel like the reason that he didn't accept it is probably because the price that was quoted on him was something that he's not willing to pay.

Can’t you just clone it and just keep trying over and over again with the 2 tries and eventually you would get in. Or is the IronKey USB more secure than that?
If the creators of IronKey are smart enough, they would've thought of this bypass already so I don't see how there's a possibility that this can work, probably it will work as I'm not a programmer or an IT buff so who knows but I think that it's a common sense that you're taking measures in every possibility for your product to be cracked.
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Man Who Stole Over 51,680 Bitcoin on: October 24, 2023, 09:35:23 AM
The question is are they still holding that volume of bitcoin he stole then till now or they have sold it? Because if they are holding till date I believe that will worth something very large, but if they sold out when it was nothing then I can see this story not to be attractive because people will be glad to hear how they managed to secure it till date. I would have clicked on the video to watch but I don't like clicking on everything I come across here with my mobile rather pc will be more better, just that I am only being mindful with the kind of links I clicked here.
I think they hold auctions that has these items, iirc the FBI have done this before with other bitcoin seized from other cybercriminals. Maybe they still have the bitcoin or the wallet that contains the bitcoins but it's unlikely of them to keep it long, if they did have an auction for this, the winner of that auction would be one lucky man/woman. Or if we want to go all conspiracy theorist, the people that knows have long ago split the bitcoins to themselves.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can change lives on: October 24, 2023, 05:39:40 AM
The majority of those who have joined the Bitcointalk forum have studied the world of Crypto and are very aware that Bitcoin can improve economic conditions and change their lives. Bitcoin has also changed the habits of many individuals, who are usually used to saving to having assets in the form of Bitcoin. But behind the excitement that Bitcoin can bring, Newbies must also learn the negative impacts that Bitcoin can have on their lives.
Definitely lives and behaviors have changed but this don't translate to real world for now especially with the poor people and when I mean poor people, I mean those that are living below the poverty line, long as there's people like that that can never access bitcoin, I can't really call it a true life changer because if bitocin can't reach those below the poverty line then what even is the point? Are we just dreaming to want the position of our oppressors? I definitely agree with you about helping newbies learn that there's negatives too on bitcoin but that's something that needs light touching so as not to scare them from engaging with bitcoin.
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advice to friend for financial improvement. on: October 24, 2023, 04:26:12 AM
Your friend should ask himself first whether having that new phone really help him or does it elevate how he normally does his daily stuff? If there's no changes that will happen when your friend buys a new phone then that means that he didn't need that upgrade besides vanity and keeping up with the trends. Tell your friend to start reassessing his priorities because if he keeps up a lifestyle like that, I am sure that we're going to see him not improving financially.
The author suggests that the choice between investing money in a gadget like an iPhone depends on the individual's priorities and use case. They argue that it's not necessary to spend all your money on Bitcoin and sacrifice basic needs for a fulfilling life. Instead, allocating resources to various types of spending and investments can help strike a balance between living a good life now and planning for the future.
If the argument is living a good life, there are other ways you can spend your money while not hurting or burning a hole in your pocket, going on a hiking or going on a trip doesn't require you a lot of money but I can guarantee you that the same fulfilment you get from buying a phone will be given to you, or if you want extreme fun, invite your friends to play a little airsoft match or go to a gun range.

636  Economy / Speculation / Re: Game theory with ChatGPT for price of Bitcoin EOY 2025 on: October 23, 2023, 09:27:15 AM
What does this conversation accomplish besides being a potential prediction for the bitcoin price for the year 2025? What can we take away from this conversation? Are you using the free version of ChatGPT? If yes, then ChatGPT's data aren't updated if I recall, the free version only has the data from 2022.
637  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin current range: $25K to $32K on: October 23, 2023, 08:19:53 AM
32-34k by oct 1.

35-39k by dec 31

45-48k some time before the april ½ ing.
I want to know when is your prediction that it's going to go down again, so I can save some of my money in case and buy myself a hefty amount after getting out at a possible 48k.
I'll just try to be brief. The BTC price movement is impressive and if you look at this market, a positive news event is really needed for BTC to be able to exit at $31K and if not a reversal occurs again because if it just stays there and stays at the $30K level the weaker the resistance will be.
If you want a positive news, November and Christmas is a historically pretty good for bitcoin price so I don't know how good you want the news to be but I think that's a good enough news to be bullish about bitcoin breaking the resistance at 30k, who knows, we might see bitcoin go at a really high price before the halving but don't be too hyped up that you will put everything you've got on bitcoin, invest wisely.

639  Other / Meta / Re: Should Merit-Sources use feelings when giving out Merit? on: October 22, 2023, 08:52:05 AM
I can say most of merit sources are objective, while most of non merit sources are subjective.
I wouldn't say that with an utmost certainty if I were you, the way I see your post, you treat merit sources as if they're robots that they can only follow a prime directive and that they can't stray too far. If most of them were really objective, they would probably merit less amounts of people so I think that emotion or feeling on the candidate post can be a factor whether it's merit worthy or not, I mean there are funny or sarcastic retorts posted out there and I believe that they're outside of the category of being an objective post so if they find it funny but still relevant to the topic aren't they allowed to merit that too? Plus, it's really difficult to measure if someone is subjective or objective, our perspective on what is the perfect post to merit is different and following a strict rule just to be subjective kind of sucks the fun out of being interactive in the forum you know.
640  Other / Meta / Solution to account seller? I think on: October 22, 2023, 07:47:24 AM
Someone should create a trap account that advertises itself as someone who sells forum accounts so we can once and for all mark the account buyers, I don't know if it's a weird solution but if we can also cull the account buyers itself then we can ultimately discourage the selling itself because if the buyers are afraid that they might be dealing with a narc then that would mean that they're going to have second-thoughts about buying an account which in turn lessens the demand which discourages sellers. It's also foolproof too if the one who does the entrapment is smart enough to lead on the buyer to their main account which is the likely thing that's going to happen.

PS. I don't know if this is the appropriate board for this so bear with me, I know how to move the topic so just tell me where.
