Now I do agree with that, winning the lottery is unlikely to happen to someone in their lifetime and you're likely to die going to the lottery outlet than win it, so here's my question, how the hell on Earth is my country got a lot of lottery winners for about 2 years now? It's consistent and it's also happening multiple times on the same places, the rifeness of corruption in my country is just too appalling, the stolen money goes even up to $10m and someone just suddenly won something that a lot of people thought was impossible, I hope that the investigations to this blatant corruption scandal is going to be investigated because I'm sick of the fact that they're exploiting the system meanwhile a lot of people in the country is below the poverty line, I know that this is off topic but I just want to share. I agree, you're right that not being greedy is the key but think about this, can you really do it if this really happened to you or to anyone here in the thread? The answer wouldn't be genuine no matter how much we want to believe it because there's no way to really prove that we will be doing what we're saying, you know the thing about all bark no bite thing, can we really follow up on what we're saying? The optimal thing to do as you've said is to just get the offer but the problem is that you'll be asking a lot of what ifs in your brain, what if I stay and let this pan out? What if I just go for it? The burden of regret is too much sometimes so even if we do believe that we're going for the cashout option, some part of us is itching to risk it all.

That's what I've been saying, instead of toleration, OP should've considered telling his nephew an alternative instead of just telling the dangers and the negatives of gambling, there's a lot of stuff that you could probably tell that person that doesn't involve gambling or tolerate it. That's a severe case already OP, if you can still do it, try going to a rehabilitation center or a mental healthcare professional to assess and help you with your issue, I know that depression is a difficult thing to get out of but remember that your sadness and loneliness that you're feeling is justified and it's no reason to end your life because there's more to it, you may not see it yet because of the veil that's put on you by that extreme feelings of sadness but it's there and you don't have to be so quick about your recovery, take the time to do it even if it's snail's pace, take that step. Are you really sure that your nephew is doing what he's telling you and that he's not going to be a problem with that gambling habit of his? The reason for that question is that children and teenagers like your nephew is likely to lie about stuff and tell what you want to hear from them so either they got to do something about this habit because it looks innocent and harmless at first but it's going to be a problem right before your eyes and it's going to catch everyone off-guard, that's how it works. Gold is a good one in the case of an economic meltdown because precious metals has always been valuable, land is a bad thing because as we all should've known about land, revolution and means of production is that land can easily be taken away from someone, by paper or by force so land is a bad idea. But for your purpose of convincing them, just show them how bitcoin was about 14 years ago, that would be enough to tell them that for the long-term investment, it's going to give your family the profit so in the hopes that a global economic depression never happens, bitcoin is the way to go.

I didn't have the experience but there are stories shared in a local group in my country about this, they bought it at a vendor that's not the seller for Trezor and when they transferred all of their altcoins in there, they're surprised and saddened by the discovery that all the altcoins and NFTs stored in there is gone because they've somehow faked the anti tampering of the wallet to make it look like it's safe at first glance. I don't exactly know how these scumbags do it but they have a way of tampering it, iirc Trezor has a seed phrase right? They might've done something about that part. You don't need to worry too much, just buy it on the official store and you'll know that you're safe.

The unavailability of this options and having only a fiat middlemen/alternative is why we're still yearning for a bitcoin adoption. AWS is a really useful service and it's still baffles that Amazon hasn't touched upon this payment option yet because this is a thing that should happen already, it's 2024 and I believe it's high time that a lot of companies are still not doing any of this, I'm sure they're going to profit from it.

What OP is pointing out is that you can maximize your purchasing value if you buy bitcoin 2 months before the halving because that's the time that bitcoin is at its lowest and then start a really huge price pump that would lead to some getting more profit out of the bitcoin that you've brought. Yes, what you're saying is correct but you should also know when to get the most when opportunity presented itself like what OP is saying.

This is the likely scenario because it's close to zero when it comes to people that are not going back to gambling anymore after winning a large amount of money. You never knew anyone because as I've said, there's not a lot of them to begin with. Successfulness can be considered an addiction and not an addiction, it can depend on the context, say if you're a gambler that's not playing a lot of times but you're winning a lot in those times then you're not an addict but you're successful and on the other hand, you can be considered an addict if you're constantly playing but at the same time you're winning a lot in those consistent plays.
