9161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Stop paying crazy tx fees(!) I paid only 1.9sat/B when pool asked me for 100+ on: April 14, 2019, 10:35:03 AM
You should be noticing that last few weeks, the mempool is packed with tx and people are paying very high tx fee. I also paid some crazy tx fees until yesterday I realised that if I pay low fees still it's not taking much longer time.

I had some issues yesterday to send some fund and in the process of solving it I discovered this low fees phenomenon which I thought worth sharing with everyone. I am just not sure which board to share. I have Bitcoin Discussion in mind. I also have Development & Technical Discussion, Mining, Bitcoin Technical Support, Beginners & Help, Currency exchange in mind then I though to post it in Bitcoin Discussion with the hope that more people will read this to get benefit. I can not just post the same topic in several boards.

Check this image: https://i.imgur.com/9ahocyt.png (I did not embed it intentionally because this will take the entire space)

1 to 6 sat/B is crazy then everything looks normal.
91 to 96 sat/B is again crazy then until 104 sat/B looks normal
105 to 106 sat/B is crazier until 160 sat/B
161+ sat/B is where the most of the miners are picking the transactions.

So automatically the current recommendation is 160+ sat/B.

If you are using Electrum then it's recommending any value from 1 to over 100 which I experienced yesterday for the tx to confirm within the next 10 blocks.

Yesterday when I did my first tx then I manually picked my fees since I did not have much worry about the tx confirmation time. I picked under 2 sat/B. I was assuming this will not confirm in weeks LOL but it did not happen(!) The tx was confirmed after 672 minutes!

Then in the 2nd tx instead of paying the crazy fees I again picked low fees (3 sat/B). It was confirmed after 98 minutes!

Now if you see the regular fees which Electrum recommended me then you will see the craziness.

Check the fees differences. I can bring you more 10+ tx I made in the last few day and all are the same with high paying tx because I used Electrum recommended fees.

So, my suggestion is that,
Stop paying high fees while you can spend very less fees for a transaction. Pick something even less than 2 sat/B.

I hope it helps.

Cheers :-)

Note: Please feel free to share this in other boards which were mentioned earlier. More people needs to see this. Thanks.

9162  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum asking for update again(?) on: April 14, 2019, 09:56:45 AM
Thanks TryNinja, HCP and nc50lc.

Some of the explanations from HCP make sense to me. Here was the situation for me,

I have this HD wallet but when I spend then I pick an address, take its private key and restore the single address wallet to spend from it. This specific address had more than enough balance which I was suppose to spend. And before spending the issue raised tx, I sent another tx few hours ago which had very low fee (believe me it was only 1.9 sat/B LOL) and for this reason it was unconfirmed at the time I was initiating the 2nd tx. So when I tried the 2nd tx, I always ended up with the errors I mentioned on my OP (@nc50lc, there were always the green icons on the left and one unconfirmed tx).

ie. the input doesn't exist, or has already been spent.
So, it's confusing why it had to add my previous tx with the new tx I was initiating?

So, it seems it is trying to spend a UTXO that wouldn't exist if your transaction was actually created. Huh
The tx was created and the UTXO was already exist if my third paragraph on this post make sense to you. There were only one unconfirmed tx and those confirmed txes were confirmed long ago in that specific address (wallet)

Quote
Definitely seems like the issue is caused by having unconfirmed transactions etc...
I am most certain about it which concludes that if you have an unconfirmed tx then you can not initiate another tx? (this is actually the same happened here. Later once the unconfirmed tx confirmed then I was able to create the 2nd tx. )

I had an issue with my segwit address before when I tried to enroll in this campaign. I hope that I use the correct address this time! Trying my luck!
Yes, this is a Segwit address.
Segwit addresses start with 3 or bc1.
Legacy address start with 1

I hope now you will be able to identify the addresses.

~snip~

Minor update on the campaign side of things, rather than just 2 open spots I am going with 2-6 open spots. Most likely somewhere in between. If you ever wanted to apply, this is almost certainly your best shot at getting in. Even more so if you are active in Local sections.
Good to see more slots. More people will have chance of champagne party :-P

Or are you saying that the output in red (0.01211596 BTC) is part of your first transaction, that you didn’t write that address in this tx and basically it showed up from nowhere?

Correct!

The output in red is basically the entire transaction of the previous unconfirmed payment I made. I did not include this payment with the current tx I was initiating.

The greed output was my actual payment. Including the fees it was suppose to be 0.00522031BTC but if you see the image, on the amount sent section it added up amount from previous tx too (total: 0.01711596 btc).

Basically I wanted to send the fund to a gambling site to bet. If I was successful to send the fund then I would lose the bet LOL (Lucky me)

Anyway, sorry about the off - topic. I am still not sure why it's happening,

1. Why the earlier tx included with the current one?
2. Is this the reason of the error(s) I experienced?

Sorry about the late response. I already forgot about this since I was watching the match that I was intended to bet.

Additional question:
What happen if I sign a tx but do not broadcast?

I won't remove anyone applying, and just for clarification (some people messaged me about my members posting here asking me to remove them), my warning was to those that will derail this thread and/or attack chipmixer/Darkstar_ in any way. I'm no dictator that will remove people who are actually helpful here or wants to apply, I don't own you guys Smiley.

What would my chances be if I were to apply Darkstar_?  Grin
I guess the chance is that there will be only one more spot left to apply :-P

Nah, I'd give him a spot under the trusted exception if he wanted to join
Ah, that doubles my enthusiasm  Wink
Okay, I stop my spamming now LOL. Good luck to every one who apply

This match is going to be a tight one. Kohli just got out and its basically 50-50 at this point. I hope AB sticks till the end and the remaining RCB batsmen need to support him out in the middle. If RCB lose this one, I think they might set a new record of 7 losses in a row in the IPL.
If KXIP can take AB de Villiers then the match will be in KXIP's control. Few minutes ago I was telling my brother in law that RCB always play good at the start and then at the end they lose control. This team is very much dependent in Kohli and AB de Villiers.

Anyway, last two balls two fours. Seems like they have a chance but I am not still sure about RCB. Any moment they can lose AB de Villiers and then game is off for them.

Let's see what we have today. It's getting exciting.

If you wish to apply privately for whatever reason (fear of Hhampuz removing you from your current campaign, etc)
Nice sarcasm LOL

I will try my luck :-)

Chris Gayle missed his century by just 1 run. Scored 99* from 64 balls. Can you believe that this guy went unsold during the first round auctions? Right now he is ranked #3 on the top run scorers for thus season, with 322 runs from 7 matches.
And he has the back injury, bowlers know that he has weakness in body length deliveries. Also consider the age.

Gayle is a legend and it's always pleasure to see he hits those sixes. RCB is responding well like they did in all the matches. Just hope that they do not lose track at the end or they will have another loss. I think it will be the 7th consecutive loss if they fail today.

Here you guys will find the match details: https://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/43914118

Vishnu.Reang is right. Every team will play against each of the nation in the group stage. If I am not wrong then top four will play the semi and then final in the Lord's.

It's a one and half month long event. This year surely is a cricket year :-)

Even the current West Indian team has got a number of good players. If they put 100% in to their game, then they will be able to beat anyone. But first they need to put aside the personal differences and bond together as a team.
It's not football that in a camp few weeks of practice makes good understanding between players. Cricket is different. For sure West Indies have good player but I doubt they are fit for ODI matches. They are doing well in T20 but T20 and ODI are two different format.

Besides finding a good combination in betting and bowling is crucial. It requires lots of matches to play and experiments in both net and real matches.

Lol. This is weird. Also, it looks like I won my bet by betting on Rajasthan and they pulled through after an amazing over by Bumrah towards the end. I hope I win my bet on RCB in the upcoming match too.
If the 2nd innings wins then sure you are going to win this RCB one too :-)

My bad luck that I can not bet since I am having trouble sending BTC to my gambling account LOL. I am still considering to bet for KXIP. The rate is good for them which is tempting me LOL

I didn't ask about installing new update. I asked, Is this necessary Uninstall the previous version & deleting all appdata files?
Oh sorry, I don't think it's necessary.

These are the files only and them has nothing to do with the new installations. Consider them as a file you copy and paste from any other computer or drive.

I’m not sure. Since you received the “missing inputs” error, you must be trying to spend the inputs coming from the unconfirmed transaction. Would you mind sharing the tx id of the unconfirmed tx and try making your tx again, but this time pressing “Preview”, “Copy” and pasting what you get here?

Good to see your comment. I was waiting for you :-)

I wish I could share the unconfirmed tx which I spent earlier today. It's low fees so I am thinking this will take a long time to confirm.

Anyway here is the senior:

I am trying to spend 0.005BTC
The fees will be 0.00022031BTC  at 50.3 sat/B (as you can see)

If you check the 4 outputs then you will see the red one is the output that I spent earlier and the tx is still unconfirmed. I am not sure why it's coming in this transaction?

By the way the other two outputs marked as black are the same address which I am sending from. I am using single address.

~snip~

Is this instruction necessary for installing every new update?
As far as I understand that it's good to have latest update installed. This keeps you safe from any unexpected risks. By the way, I am still having the same problem. I think it's not about the version I have, it's something to do with the unconfirmed tx I have. I am just not sure. I am still waiting for TryNinja.

Cheers :-)
9175  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum asking for update again(?) on: April 13, 2019, 03:31:23 PM
Do you have any Local transaction in your wallet? If so, remove it and try making the tx again.
I do not have a local transaction but I have an unconfirmed transaction. Is this related to this transaction? If yes then how?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not seeing that error but if you're not using version 3.3.4 I suggest you update ASAP.
I just tried.

Updated to the latest but still I see the same massage. I am going to uninstall again and then delete everything from my appdata folder. Then restart the system before installing a fresh copy.

We are aware of the Electrum update phishing scam that happened few months ago and we have seen a lot of people to lose their funds. Today I was trying to send some funds and every time I am trying, I am seeing some different messages including a suggestion  to update the Electrum.

I am thinking to update my Electrum with a fresh download.

Is anyone facing the same error?

Duckworth Lewis method was invented after carefully analyzing the outcomes of thousands of matches. So I wouldn't say that the method was wrong. And I don't understand why you think that the UAE was ahead. Two set batsmen were playing when bad light stopped play (PJ Moor at 45, and Chakabva at 78), and at that point they needed 25 runs to win from 3 overs (with 6 wickets in hand).
Man! I also don't understand how does this D/L method works. I feel like they do a lot of unrealistic calculation. I can not give you specific examples but in lot of occasions I have seen the unfairness. It just do not add up with the real situation.

My thinking is that why do we need a method to find a winner. Just leave it and declare abundant or an unfinished match. If you do not know what will be the outcome of the next ball (out or dot, single, double, two, three, four or six or possibly anything) then how do you calculate based on mathematics.

You are still winning most of them based on what I have seen. Ronnie(Cloudbet) has done a great job among us predicting accurately majority of the time.

I bet on RCB once again(Hope they don't mess up again) and Rajasthan in the MI vs RR match.

It's amazing to see how Ronnie comes up with some great pick. I am sure he does some extensive research. My pick was for this match was MI and seems like they are going to lose it LOL I am glad I did not bet in this match.

Next match I think RCB is going to lose but here again I would not surprise if they win because from last few days I am always finding myself in the losing side.

By the way, I noticed something unusual. Whoever bet last they wins LOL
9180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Now FREE to JOIN] IPL 2019 Prediction Pool and discussion on: April 13, 2019, 07:33:15 AM
Royse bhai don't forget rcb signed Dale stun recently.
When a team in their bottom psychologically then it's hard to pull up. RCB is psychologically down at the bottom. I do not think Dale Steyn can do much. When I was picking my pick then I thought the same.

RCB is a strong team comparing with some other teams in this IPL but it's the management/captaincy is not right. I doubt they know which is their best combination for opening partnership.
