921  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance and multiple citizenship on: August 26, 2023, 02:01:20 PM
You must contact support for details. My guess is (based on logic) like the opinion above that you won't be allowed to use your nationality B or C identity while you're living in country A when the new restrictions are implemented, because you're personally subject to the laws of country A.
I don't know if binance ever asked for street selfie verfications like this. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5410006

I checked their FAQ section, and I wasn't able to find any relevant information either but it is technically possible if the support accepts another ID from allowed countries and is able to trade from the same country as long as the person is accessing their platform via a proxy network of different geolocation which is he used maybe B or C.

Well, it may lead to face the circumstances of like the account can be held for investigation due to unusual activity which normally happens when we use VPN so don't use the platform if you are still a resident of restricted country or else you are taking the risk of losing your funds.
922  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Disable JayJuanGee in the Wall Observer thread on: August 26, 2023, 06:50:38 AM
Okay, now I am thinking about creating a thread regarding disabling every merit source from the meritting posts in WO thread. Cheesy

So there will be no merit farming and the problem will be solved, simple!

JJG is known for his wall of texts even I wondered how it is possible for him to write such long, not one or two every post he made is such long, and reading can be a pain in the ass eyes, probably he is another AI or he spends all his time in the reading of bitcointalk posts not just from WO all around the forum you can see his merit distribution.
923  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Disable merits in the Wall Observer thread on: August 25, 2023, 03:07:21 PM
I voted 'No', and I don't like the idea of restricting ranks from receiving merits from WO cause it is like some kind of discrimination what if the member is actually a low-ranked member and trying to become a part of WO (speaking from my exp).

Merit sources can be careful when sending merits so it can eliminate the account farmers to grow but again having alts is allowed in bitcointalk so what is the point of restricting them from growing if they can able to check the merit requirement box!

If I am not wrong theymos removed someone from being a merit source because the person simply showered meritsin WO for no reason which means he is aware of this and okay with the current distribution cause it somewhat contributes to the forum. The merit system isn't perfect anyway because you can find merits shared for posts with little to no contribution and some posts were ignored even if it has something to the context of the discussion so if we are trying to push the system further then it may end up badly like merit sources will not be interested in sending the merits to posts.
924  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Telegram and it's misue for scammers. on: August 25, 2023, 01:45:04 PM
AFAIK, Telegram doesn't provide any feature to hide the bio as a username or something like that, If they would this would be really helpful to get rid of these imposters. I am afraid there is no other way than to pay close attention to the username and Bio field whenever we receive a message as a new chat.

Reporting those scammers has no use because they will simply come up with new accounts and repeat the same thing again and again so reporting imposters is just a waste of our time.
925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can Submarine Swaps in Lightning Wallet increase Bitcoin Privacy ? on: August 25, 2023, 08:36:01 AM
Submarine swaps don't provide any additional privacy than what's already available in the Lightning Network and Bitcoin blockchain. So you can increase the privacy of your Lightning network by routing through multiple channels such as onion routing.

From the above two options, the 1 seems to be more privacy due to less exposure.

926  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The economy can make mining unprofitable. on: August 24, 2023, 05:24:31 PM
Mining is not always profitable.
Mining is probably unprofitable if you're new to the space.
Mining is profitable only if the miners can hold the coins until the next bull run so that they have to bear the running costs such as electricity bills on their own which is too huge for a small-scale miner that is why mining should not be an ideal choice for someone who has $20K or something and looking to make a stable income.

To OP, mining profitability depends on various factors like location, and electricity cost per KWH in your location so yes it depends on your country's economy too.
927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: TX Broadcast timestamp on: August 24, 2023, 02:32:23 PM
AFAIK, there is no way to find the exact broadcast time of a transaction in the Bitcoin network.

The broadcast timestamp you see on your wallet interface is just an estimation because the time taken for your node to propagate to other nodes across the network depends on factors like network congestion, latency, and the number of hops it takes to reach different nodes.
928  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: They believe that Bitcoin is outdated due to a misunderstanding. on: August 24, 2023, 02:28:55 PM
Who is they?

No sync to the title and context you wrote in OP.

Even the post doesn't look complete, it must be copied parts by parts from somewhere which is why there is no continuation in the content.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible Sports Betting Shop Operations on: August 24, 2023, 01:10:06 PM
Do you really think this is what happened? For me, it's like the Twitter user is promoting the shop with a made-up story just like every social media influencer does to make money for their living. Tongue

I don't get how a casino employee can stop you from gambling there because he feels you are addicted.

If it actually happened the casino or the shop would be sued for denying an individual right and its legally possible really if a shop thinks they should not come there every day then they should have a rule stating that.
930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unknown Bitcoin Whale Gains $3B in 90 Days on: August 24, 2023, 07:27:39 AM
Kind of mysterious not because the total accumulated amount in a very short time is just due to the transaction history where you can see exact rounded figures repeated.

I checked the TX history the address received 1700,1750,1800,1900 multiple times which made me curious whether it is some kind of salary for their job or what. And after a while, it received only dust amounts.

not sold a single satoshi.
Actually no, because you can see the address spend 0.25000000 BTC.
931  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet resp. Address Consolidation on: August 23, 2023, 09:06:26 PM
Currently, your transaction will get confirmed with 6sat/vbyte.

So you can even consider consolidating the fees now which is 8 inputs and one output the fees will not be outrageous and we never know when the mempool will get clogged so waiting until the next halving to save a buck or two isn't worth the wait.

Using Bitcoin Fee Calculator to estimate the fee of your transaction which is 0.00006752 BTC = $1.8 if UTXOs are from Segwit (P2SH)

932  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does Nvidia's Result bring a positive impact on Bitcoin? on: August 23, 2023, 06:55:09 PM
A 1.5% price hike can happen any day in the bitcoin's market so this Nvdia stock rise may or may not have contributed to this.

I just watched the price chart of Nvidia and their growth in this week seems over 6% so whoever Powell claims this 1.5% rise happened due to their stock result then what will be his response for Bitcoin's 30K to 26K in that time period?
933  Economy / Economics / Re: The refusal of the country from its own Central Bank on: August 23, 2023, 04:23:09 PM
And what's the problem? Are some countries willing to lose their financial independence and use someone else's currency?
Of course, all central banks follow the recommendations of the IMF and BIS, but this is a very radical idea.
Argentine Peso (ARS) has gone through crazy economic crisis and a high inflation rate which is why shops there accept USD as payments more than the fiat issued by their central bank which clearly shows that people don't trust their banking system and this candidate is clearly trying to take this as an advantage to win.

Dollarization may solve the financial instability in their nation for the short term but what they are willing to compromise is losing control over monetary policy which is really a bad thing for the future of their nation as I said the political leaders don't care about the long term benefits they just want to win and settle the things for the short term so this idea is like putting a band-aid for a severe injury.
934  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful with your identity documents and KYC on: August 23, 2023, 08:34:40 AM
Plenty of software out there, even free software, which can change your face in real time: https://www.latimes.com/business/technology/story/2023-05-11/realtime-ai-deepfakes-how-to-protect-yourself
Most of the videos can be detected if we pay attention to the details but who knows how this AI will improve in the future and may create videos more than just realistic.

There is an article regarding this posted a few months back : AI deepfakes are getting better at spoofing KYC verification: Binance exec

This can be controlled if the verification process is manual and done by an actual human or else this thing will get worse for sure.
935  Economy / Economics / Re: Which problem will you choose to solve? on: August 22, 2023, 02:56:30 PM
Solving the problem of one rich person can save thousands of jobs so it depends on who is that rich person and what is their problem.

If you see more replies that say to solve the problems of more poor people then its not a wonder because that is the right thing from an ethical Point of View.

936  Economy / Reputation / Re: I need help the adivce regards my loan service here on: August 22, 2023, 11:50:40 AM

937  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Increasing speed of transaction with the Data Sharding Architecture? on: August 22, 2023, 09:44:49 AM
Individual full blockchain nodes are very important to keep bitcoin decentralized and tamperproof so what you are suggesting is completely against the concept of bitcoin.

FYI, You cannot increase the speed of Bitcoin transactions by reducing the overload on nodes cause nodes have nothing to do with confirmation time since it totally depends on the miners so technically you can increase the transaction speed by increasing the hash rates or increasing the block size.
938  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Multiple Devices, Part keys, Single Wallet Creation - Idea on: August 22, 2023, 06:17:48 AM
You can read the replies above to understand why this idea is worse cause we already have the multi-signature wallet. In case you still want to let me break it down for you.

You are proposing creating one private key using 3 or more devices.

Private key = A + B + C

In a multi-sig wallet, you create three private keys via 3 different keys

Private keys= A and B and C

In your idea, you need to compile all the diversified keys into one device to execute a transaction which means if the attacker can access that one device the funds will be stolen at a single point of failure.

Whereas In multi-sig you need at least 2 of 3 keys to execute a transaction so even if your one device is promised still the hacker can' access your funds without compromising one more device so now it makes sense right why multi-sig is better.
939  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Unconfirmed transaction on: August 20, 2023, 05:07:07 PM
Anyways, as what I've observed, OP's transaction was once missing from some mempools (e.g.: missing in blockchain.com blockexplorer) and just became available automatically hours later.

Well, the transaction is showing in Blockchair.

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/d5f80b303486f616dc02df5413520b43543b725246161c520816e51aa1f4ebf3

And I checked the sender's BTC address and the balance still shows 0 also the purging dropped down to 4sat/vbyte so most likely the transaction will stay unconfirmed until 14 days period unless the mempool congested with Txs with higher fees.
940  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What's the best instant exchange for BTC to XMR on: August 20, 2023, 02:48:27 PM
Does P2P mean you'll get better privacy & rates to online instant swappers every time? I'll check LocalMonero for rate comparison later but it's only allowing trades if you'll register so that isn't ideal for privacy. Unstoppable P2P's a good option but they haven't offered the best rates.
The best price and No KYC ain't possible, so you need to compromise one for another.

Here is a site https://orangefren.com/ which you can use to compare the deals offered on different swap exchanges.

LocalMonero isn't a KYC exchange so you can sign up with just an email and you are ready to trade since you are doing crypto-to-crypto trade means no exchange of private details with another party like Bank details and others.
