921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government vs Bitcoin on: September 08, 2023, 12:32:48 PM
Is the government worried that high volatility will harm people? I don't think that's a good reason. I don't believe they would care about their people to such a level of devotion, it's just one of many reasons people stay away from government bitcoin. I completely agree with what Patrol69 said, if bitcoin is accepted, fiat and banks will surely lose their appeal and their power will be easily shaken. That's the first thing they care about when it comes to bitcoin.

Many people say that accepting bitcoin as a currency will improve the economy but I don't think so, due to the volatility of bitcoin it will destroy the economy even faster, this I am on the political side of government. As long as bitcoin remains highly volatile, it will be difficult to become a currency.

It is not about the high volatility of the market the government is most concerned about.  The government even allows gambling which is way worse than the high volatility of a market in terms of how people lose their money in the process.   It is about control and censorship since the government being authoritative wanted to have control of everything and yet they are unable to have a grasp of the Bitcoin network.  This is one of the major reasons why the government is hesitant to accept or adopt Bitcoin in their country.
I agree as the government implemented strict regulations in order to control Bitcoin but unfortunately, they failed, so they banned it.
Although we ask the government for their support but somewhat they are unfair. They are foolish not to see and think about how it helps the people around them because what they only think is how to make money from it while disregarding the benefits it gives to the investors, traders, and users. Until they don't get their wants, the government will make war against crypto.
922  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and get rich quick syndrome on: September 08, 2023, 11:39:31 AM

So do you think that I'm correct about bitcoin, that it is not an easy way to get rich quick as some people will make believe, and it is just like other ventures where there is no guarantee of getting rich?
Our personal experience will tell us the reality of Bitcoin investment. Many people become disappointed because of that thinking and market views - easy money/instant profit and becoming rich. It was a big lie for someone to say it, in fact, some fake promoters and scammers did it.
Many lives have changed and their financial capabilities as well due to investing in Bitcoin. It is profitable indeed but yes, it takes time to reach where they are today. There is a process called for it and people must understand how it works otherwise they end up disappointed.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: September 08, 2023, 07:29:28 AM

I guess not new technique, but some fighting style, as we have seen him falling in love with his one punch knockout that they change the fight on his favor. But Takuma is more of a boxer, not a brawler type so it will be a contrasting clash of styles between the two.

And with that, if Jerwin, will rely on his power, it might take him the full twelve rounds just to land that one solid punch. So at least adjust his style with the type of fight that Takuma will offer to him.

Inoue will be my opinion in this game, because the punch of the Inoue was power punch compared to the Jerwin. It was true some other people support on the Jerwin, but my opinion will be same. The style of game also unique to the Inoue as compared to hi opponent of this match. The Knockout style of the Inoue was unique compared to the Jerwin Ancajas. If the Inoue give some time to his opponent, the Jerwin should use the chance to get some points. The Jerwin only can try the match with the points, because the knockout is not the possible one in the Inoue match.Inoue had the strongest record in the KO.

You are probably referring to his brother Naoya Inoue who is a KO puncher, this fight is for Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue (check the thread title) and looking at the boxrec, Takuma is not a KO artist as he only has 4 KO wins in 18 fights, compared to Jerwin Ancajas who has 23 KO wins in 34 fights.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2023, 06:49:22 AM
The reason why this was talked about so much is that it could be one of the biggest signings of the whole free agent period. I do not remember anyone who is as big of a name as this one, obviously Wood is not a superstar, not even an all-star if I am not wrong, but still, do we even have anyone else that was this big? Plus its Lebrons team, Lebron is arguably one of the best players ever to play this game, some say he IS the biggest name, and when his team gets a good player that becomes something important. This is why I think its quite important to the narrative of the league and everyone wants to talk about it, if he signed with like Dallas again, or Blazers or Hornets whatever, it wouldn't be this big of a news.

Because as basketball fans, we still remember Wood not even in his prime with the Rockets and if I'm not mistaken, averaging 20++ ppg during that season and he become their man offensive weapon.

That's why it was a surprised that Houston traded him or let him go after that big season of his. And then in the Dallas, everyone expects that he will also be a factor and be the second man behind Luka. But he wasn't exposed that much, playing average and just another performance. Maybe with the style of coach Ham, he might thrive at the Center position.

He definitely had a decent season with the Rockets, but the team is probably in a rebuilding mode, which is why he was released. I also believe he wasn't that healthy during his last season with the Rockets. Compared to his salary with the Lakers, that's very small, considering he received over $13 million to $14 million in salary during his tenure with the Rockets and Mavericks, respectively.

I think he really has to play harder and put up great stats with the Lakers, as his value has been declining. Considering he is still 27 years old, he still has a lot of time in the NBA.
925  Economy / Speculation / Re: How passionate are you buying Bitcoin now? on: September 07, 2023, 09:58:49 PM
I'd keep in mind buying when the price is cheap is a great idea and I don't think I have to ignore the opportunity now. However, we also have to know that not all the time we have to keep on buying unless we have huge capital for investment. I bought some and will buy more if the price falls again but should still have to keep in mind that must stay on the limit. We can't just expect that this would be the last time we're in a huge price correction so I need to spare some money in case it happens again so I still have the chance to buy. Investing is not just all about money but also about how we strategies our accumulation.
926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two years ago today, El Salvador adopted Bitcoin as legal tender on: September 07, 2023, 09:43:46 PM
He is just calm and never sells any because people are expecting too much from his decision about adoption. If ever he showed worries and sold them, he faced several issues and criticism which is why he preferred to hold and it was good. In fact, it was just 2 years since accumulation and he still needs to wait for another 2 years in order to see profit from it.
I'm not going to wonder why people only see the negative about having Bitcoin rather than seeing the positive one. If Bitcoin becomes bullish, will the people of El Salvador become happy? Hmm, will see their actions 2 years from now when the price of Bitcoin is already $60k above.
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Control Your Emotions and Win More Bets on: September 07, 2023, 01:46:11 PM
Controlling your emotions is a must in gambling, but that does not automatically guarantee a win. Most of the time, we control ourselves because we don't want to lose more than we can afford to lose, and that's what you call discipline in gambling. Winning more bets, especially in the long run, is kind of a skill, and probably only 10% or less of all gamblers consistently win, but usually only in specific games, particularly those that require skill.
I think it depends on the game you are playing. There are types of games in gambling that requires skill which includes how to control your emotion in all aspects. It does not guarantee your winning, however, this will be a huge factor to achieve winning in each game.
Regardless of the game you are playing, it still requires you to control your emotions. Greediness is one of the main reasons why we lose control, and it could happen whether we are playing a luck-based or skill-based type of game. Different games require different strategies, but we cannot neglect how important it is to be disciplined when we are in a gambling session.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 07, 2023, 01:14:05 PM
Germany vs. USA will be battling in the semi-final round. Although Germany is surely an underdog, I believe this team could match the USA due to their great chemistry. Let us not forget that they are undefeated in the FIBA World Cup, while the USA has lost once. Hopefully, Dennis SCHRODER will have a good game and bounce back after a not-so-good performance in their last game. This is their ticket to the Finals, and beating the USA would give them very good momentum to face the winner of Serbia vs. Canada.
929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify shitcoins? on: September 07, 2023, 11:37:35 AM
You can easily spot a shitcoin project if it just added because of the trend or hype especially for memecoins. If team is hidden amd of course the value and significance of the project in the first place. If all these are present, then it will be dead project  for sure
It was easy to spot shitcoins than scam projects. But talking about meme coins, some are totally shitcoins except Doge and Shiba Inu, I'm not yet sure about Pepe coins. Although they are coming from a hyped project but looking at its market value, we can still say that it was not totally useless compared to others. Well, it depends on our discretion or criteria of what it shitcoins or not because for me, as long as it was been used by some traders and is still active, they are not. But can be possibly dead in the future.
930  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Seeking Passive income offer with low risk on: September 07, 2023, 10:45:37 AM
With your attitude and market approach, I see trading wasn't the right place for you OP. Indeed, trading needs patience as to those who haven't such an attitude, I was certainly about to fail. Your decision about leaving trading is a good option as we don't need to push ourselves into something that we know we can't do nor we are capable of doing it.

If you are looking for low-risk but can be a passive income, consider investing and holding Bitcoin. But I'm not sure if it will work in you knowing that you are impatient.
931  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bots... do they work? on: September 06, 2023, 09:39:50 PM
Honestly, trading bots work but when it asks if it is profitable, that will depend on the trader who uses it. Why? Trading bots is only reliant on the user and you can't expect to work alone without command, and if you don't have knowledge in trading, therefore, never expect that it will work effectively but fail.
I'd rather suggest you not to use bots if you are still learning trading as it won't bring you to success instead, work on yourself and carry the risk alone. As long as you have ample time to trade, you can be a great trader like others but if you rely on bots, I don't think so.
932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mempool reaches 600K transactions on: September 06, 2023, 09:11:14 PM
There might be a spike in tx fees again, just like it happened a few months ago. In fact, I was paying 60sats to complete my transactions and it was just far from the current tx fees, so I have nothing to worry about as it was still acceptable.
With the increasing BTC transactions, there is one thing that it shows us, it means that the market is very active and there an in/out transactions happening around. And I hope this won't just affect the fees to increase but also the price to rise.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 06, 2023, 01:55:50 PM
The Lakers have signed forward Christian Wood to a 2 year deal. Christian had a decent year last year averaging 16 & 7. I’m not sure how he’ll fit into the lineup but maybe he’s a little extra insurance in case something happens to Anthony Davis. Wood did dominate the Lakers in the Christmas game last year…

Good, I thought that he will be in the Warriors, but I guess Lakers is not that bad for Wood to be a destination team. Yeah, most likely it he will be some insurance for Davis, if ever AD got injured or something, at least there will be someone to cover the Center/PF department for the Lakers unlike last year.

Decent stat but he was not a impact to the Mavericks last year and I think he struggled with the rotation and chemistry with the players and it's good though that he has been released and then pick up by Lakers for a 2 year deal.

Maybe he is a slight downgrade from Davis (just a bit though). I mean, both can dominate the paint and can shoot from outside, so it looks like he can fit into the chemistry needed for the Lakers team to work smoothly. Davis' minutes need to be managed, as they cannot afford to miss him in the playoffs. So, having Christian Wood, who is known for his offensive skills, I think he'll shine with the Lakers. The advantage the Lakers have is their big lineup, so the defensive and rebounding liabilities for Wood may not be as challenging.

Canada vs. Slovenia is up next. According to the bookies, Canada is the heavy favorite to win. But who among us here believes we're going to see an upset?

On the sportsbook I'm using, here are the odds:

Canada: 1.31 or -7.5
Slovenia: 3.65 or +7.5

Can Luka carry his team?

The game has started. Well, considering this is a do-or-die game and Slovenia is still a decent team, I think I would choose the handicap. Canada is probably the next best team after Team USA, but this is a big challenge for them. Let's see how they'll compete against Slovenia. If they win this game dominantly, it would prove they are ready for the next stage.

I'm rooting for LUKA! I hope he gets this big win.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 06, 2023, 11:54:39 AM
Yes, for me coach Tim will be enough in case super coach Chot will be true to his words that he will let go the post, I mean coach Tab is coach Tab and his contributions to the development of young generations really bring great outcome to the players, though his greatness is just wasted by the fact that super coach Chot can easily manipulate as he's the golden son of the SBP, hahaha just kidding but hopefully just still hoping for the best for our nationals and for the future development of this program.

For coach Tab, wherever he is, I believe that he respects the management and he will continue to be an inspiration to those who manage to work and play with him.

Coach Chot Reyes and assistant coach Tim Cone will still be the official coach and assistant coach this coming Asian Games as their names were submitted by the POC before July 25, the deadline for the roster's submission, and whomever they put on the roster will be the official players and coaches so coach Chot Reyes is not yet officially retired from Gilas coaching job.

What's up with his statement that he stepped aside after the game against China? Does it mean he will still be part of the coaching staff but not as the head coach? If that's the scenario, I don't find it helpful, as the old system might still be in use, and it's possible he could still influence the head coach's decisions in practice. I don't understand it; please enlighten me if you know.
936  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions dealing on: September 05, 2023, 09:40:25 PM
Honestly, you can't rid of your emotions but you can minimize it. This is why we need to asses ourselves if trading really suits us like if we can control our emotions because even doing all those things that you have said but if you are still emotional when doing an actual trade, you're certainly be ended up making wrong decisions. In fact, as we can see a lot of people attempt to trade, study the market, and push themselves into it but unfortunately, many still fail because it is hard to deal with our emotions when we are not confident enough.

Italy ML @11.0 vs US

Taking my chances here though i like the US to win but their lack of experience might cost this game for them tonight.

I like your call. I believe the USA is overrated, and Italy has been winning games since they visited Pacman. Maybe they got inspired by Pacman, LOL. Anyway, I still love the pick; it's like 'go big or go home.' Good luck; I'm joining you!

Good luck, guys! The game has started, and it seems like it's a close one, so there's a chance, hehe. The USA likes to play small ball; maybe Italy has a good strategy to counter their style. The fact that the USA has lost once already indicates they have a weakness that any team could exploit. Italy has also lost once, but we've seen how good they are when they move the ball well, so it could be a 50-50 game.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: September 05, 2023, 11:58:35 AM
It appears that there's a chance we won't get to see Coach Tab taking on the role of coaching Gilas, as there's unofficial news suggesting that he has been hired as the new coach of the Indonesia National Team.

Quote
(UNOFFICIAL) According to Snow, his kuliglig told him that Tab will leave the country soon to coach the Indonesian Team. Such a loss for the Philippines to waste this gem and on the otherhand it is a BIG development for the Indonesian Basketball to have this type of Coach. While the Philippines might just rot on the old system, and old gameplay that will make PH basketball to its lowest level of play.

939  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you risking investment in other things? on: September 04, 2023, 10:05:52 PM
Investing in Bitcoin solely is not a really good idea but investing in something that you also have no knowledge of is useless. What I mean is that we better stick to Bitcoin if we really think that we can do it right rather than putting it into money where we doubt if we can work it out. I have Bitcoin and I also have altcoins, All of my investments are crypto but I don't regret about even though some people say real estate is good. I will tell you that real estate is a huge investment and needs more capital which I'm not capable of, unlike in crypto where you can apply DCA and it is okay, you can earn a profit already if you play it well.
940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hope is all I have left on: September 04, 2023, 09:38:39 PM
For people like us who still struggles to invest money on Bitcoin I want to know if one day, 1 sat can ever cost as much as 1 cent? Is this possible? Sorry I can't afford to dollar cost into Bitcoin like everyone else, it's very hard for me, all I need is hope.

I can only afford to invest into Bitcoin once in two month and that's not every with big money, you should understand my situation, I am too shamed to call a number.

Despite the lack of capital but are still determined to invest a small amount into Bitcoin and it was not bad. In fact, many people have a lot of money, a big salary but what they do is spend it all, unlike you who are still thinking about investment.

However, in the situation today and in the future, we can't think that Bitcoin will become cheap like before. The demand is growing and also the price which is impossible to see Bitcoin at that cheap price.
