921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Neven's Law: Only a Decade Before Quantum Computers Hack Bitcoin? on: January 28, 2022, 02:52:49 PM
If quantum computers come close,,, and assuming the country or organization that has it is willing to spend all that money just to hack Bitcoin, then they finally succeed. What happens?

Bitcoin reorganizes and then work together to ignore or invalidate all the IP associated with the quantum computer, right? This is my understanding or is it simply the risk that it breaks open people's wallets?

I guess the Afcon promo only pays out if your team actually wins in Regular or Extra Time,,, I have Egypt on my promo and despite that they progressed to the next round, I did not get any freebet to play with. This is such a shame, to pick such a great team and only they won once in 4 games!

Good luck to ralle and buway for their Senegal pick. Best scenario is for Egypt to meet Senegal and we all get as many chances to win as possible.
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What engine is CBDC running on? on: January 28, 2022, 11:37:34 AM
Actually,,, I would even say most tokens are not even cryptocurrencies. Just because you issue a token on a blockchain to me only makes it a blockchain asset and not crypto (especially now if you consider that many so called blockchains are not even blockchains).

CBDC is CBDC, blockchain is a technology. You can even make CBDC run on Paypal system if you want.

Juventus going back up to win it would not surprise me at all either,,, but this is too late a stage for them to make a comeback when they cannot put down teams like Roma easily.
Milan is just running out of luck. Inter happen to find luck with their style of game. The have a good team base but I'm not buying the theory of them having the strongest team in the league. Inter is only topping the league with 1 point against Napoli. For Juventus they have very little to offer this season the fifth position the occupy currently is been contended with them for by Roma hope the can dance well to the rythm of the drum

I always agree that luck plays a small part in football and in sports in general for sure,,, and you can definitely account for luck in a tournament where a bad team can even just play for draws and win penalty kicks but the league is a different type of luck. You cannot be lucky for almost 40 games in a season and hope other teams are unlucky Smiley

Inter is where they are because of deserved playing style.

I personally do not like staking because it leaves your money idle to earn a small interest in coins,,, while risking the entire amount to some kind of hack.

But if you like staking, I would believe it is even better in a bear market right? Earning interest while the coin is low means a lot more gains for when the coin recovers right?

If you stake with a third party service you're risking hack and more over...you are right. but you can avoid It since you can stake directly on chain. That means that you have your keys you have always your coins... You can stop staking and get your reward and so on.

Even if you stake on chain,,, you still run the risk of the protocol itself rug pulling or getting hacked. Of course I guess now if you stake on socalled verified pools like at BSC or even on Uniswap or Sushi the risk is still very low, but it is a risk nevertheless. Or what if the browser or platform got spied on and your private key is leaked?

And all that for a few percentage per year Smiley

Inter is a well structured team, they have good defense and attack while Milan have made disastrous mistakes in defense and thanks to that they are lowering their position in the table and if they lose against Inter then they will be further away from Inter and napoli if also for napoli to win, I talked about this in a past post that won't surprise me if juventus manages to overcome inter in the table

I would agree here if not for the fact that last season and this season team and style is quite different for Inter. The only reason I think they are still top right now is that they still have the strongest squad while the challengers are never strong enough to maintain bid in the league and in Europe (although looking at Inter in Europe they also showed the very same struggles).

Juventus going back up to win it would not surprise me at all either,,, but this is too late a stage for them to make a comeback when they cannot put down teams like Roma easily.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 27, 2022, 02:44:03 PM
I love watching premier league and la liga because if you ask me that is the two best leagues in the entire world and I do not think that we would ever get any better leagues for a while as well, they are just great. Watching Bayern is great too, I would love to see them lose championship just once to feel at ease to be fair Cheesy but watching them play is great, and watching PSG feels great too, but those are just one team, so I could be considered "fans" for them since other teams are not enjoyable.

Premier league is not like that, they have 10-12 teams that I love to watch, hell even Southampton, watford, leeds trio at the bottom is great to watch because 2 of them had crypto sponsorship and leeds had docuseries.

I only watched Premier League but I started recently seeing a few Italian games and I have to tell you my thoughts about them were wrong. I used to not watch them because I thought they played defensive and boring football but I think they are now even better than Spanish football, much more aggressive and very free with the top half formations.

Premier League is truly great I agree because you can watch bottom table teams play and it is still exciting (which is not really to me the case for other leagues).

But maybe,,, it is simply because of language? I guess if I was from maybe Argentina I would love watching La Liga more because I can understand?
930  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BlockFi on: January 27, 2022, 02:04:51 PM
Interesting,,, seen a lot of ETF applications but this is the first from a pure cefi turning into defi company that most of us should have heard of. Any news how much of collateral is going to be held? Is it just 1-to-1 because even that would really make this something special. Expect many rejections first however Smiley

There is no news on this issue yet, because the SEC has been considering applications for a long time, there is another news: a subsidiary of BlockFi has received a license from the Bermuda Monetary Authority for financial activities in the field of digital assets, the company itself also plans to open its office there.
https://blockfi.com/blockfi-selects-bermuda-to-expand-global-operations-footprint-with-new-digital-asset-business-license

I do not feel like any of these jurisdictions make for a big news anymore, and especially since more and more attention is being poured on the island licenses like what happened with Binance and Seychelles (which itself is now being opened up more and more with Panama Papers and all the new things come to light).

I myself do not really understand but supposedly, none of these things are illegal, but "regular" countries frown on them.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 27, 2022, 12:23:37 PM
I just knew Man City wasn't invincible, they've shown a number of times this season they're quite fragile, but they've just managed to pull it out of the bag. Well, they didn't this time, and they likely won't for the rest of the season. Obviously, Liverpool, and Chelsea at the minute aren't all that great at securing wins consistently, but when you look at the remaining fixtures, the time between big matches, I'm still quietly confident about Liverpool's chances this season.

Anyway, Norwich really surprised me, but Watford didn't. I thought it was going to be a bore draw, but Watford have looked pretty poor this season, and I did think they were suspectible to conceding against Norwich, like I said I somewhat expected Pukki could make the breakthrough happen, however to play, and concede as many as they did, against a out of form Norwich side pretty much puts the writing on the wall for me. Watford to get relegated.

I am definitely rooting for you, cryptofrka, LFC_Bitcoin and buwaytress,,, actually I am surprised I know you are all Liverpool fans but I am sure there are more just from the posts I can notice you guys are Red as Red can be Wink I totally think that City should not have been so lucky to get so many wins. They do not play badly,,, they just play too cautiously for me to enjoy their wins. Unlike when even Arsenal win it is so exciting. I should not mention my own team,,, exciting because we always look like we are going to lose.

Spurs is also doing well quietly I would say,,, of course nowhere near Chelsea or Liverpool and I really hate how we lost to Chelsea but Conte will turn us around after this season. He already made us much better I can see.

Watford is going down I think, when you fire a league winner and replace him with a dude I thought retired??  Grin

My highest achievement Globally is 867 which I achieved in Round 17.

You can check your own statistics: https://www.superbru.com/premierleague_predictor/global.php

Wow,,, top 1000 is a big achievement with almost 70000 players I would say. My highest achievement is in Round 5, #22,410  Roll Eyes

You heard. I like the internet. People hear a lot because of it.

Think for a few moments about what you asked,,, if what you heard was true, would any of us still be on this forum today using crypto?

It is like those get rich scams. If true people could double your money in a snap,,, why would they be asking for your money? The simple doubling would make them megarich in a few turns.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 26, 2022, 01:01:37 PM
To be honest I don't ever think that a 0-0 scoreline is always dull and not fun to watch. When two teams are trying desperately to score a goal and break the deadlock, it's actually really amazing to watch.

But only if there is such aggression from both the teams. Both teams really went for it in that match but didn't have anything to show for it in the scoreline. But in my opinion, I would have preferred a little more aggression from Juventus.

Trust me, watch AFCON and see the 0-0 draws and your mind can be changed forever. Also I have for sure seen very boring 0-0 games and in fact I guess Italy would be guilty of this in the past which is why I did not used to see their games. Until now I see all the attacking styles is why I have really started to watch the Serie A matches and am so impressed.

When you see teams just play long balls,,, or pass around a lot and the other team not pressing. Then you feel like you wasted hours of your life for nothing.

Certik: not worth anything as 90% of all rug pulls were Certik audited, and they even continue to audit pure memecoins. People actually need to understand what Certik audit means and that anyone can copy pasta a rugpull to ensure they are going to pass audit from Certik Smiley
What does line-by-line auditing of the smart contract has got to do with rugpulls and copy-cat memecoins? Rugpulls are executed by either abandoning the project or just blatantly pulling out the entire liquidity on a DEX which is done by the creator or the team itself. In some instances, even when the entire audit is completed, the team can still insert any line of code they want into the smart contract and deploy it. Yes, it is given that it's rampant these days but having a firm that audits the smart contract is better than nothing. If an audit is published, these guys point out the flaws in the contract that they reviewed, it is now up to the users to check it, read it, and assess if he/she should even try and get on with the shitcoin. It's a guide at best.

But this is my point. Line by line auditing of smart contract has NOTHING to do with rugpulls and copy cat memecoins my friend! You just helped me to prove my point! Smiley

I am not saying OP is shit or that Certik is shit,,, please understand that I am underlining how irrelevant a Certik Audit is to determine if the project is a scam or not.

The audit is better than nothing of course and I believe you must have an audit, but people should not be misled to think Mixers or any projects are to be trusted just because they are listed on Coingecko and have certik Audit, which is what I was saying.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 26, 2022, 11:20:07 AM
That is the biggest advantage of being non-UK person who watches premier league games. I do not have a team to support, I do not even know the cities too well, I barely learned where some teams are from later in my life, so I care about none of that.

To me, the most important thing is to watch good players and good teams and seeing how awesome Chelsea is playing under Tuchel is a great feeling, I love watching them playing great and dominating games sometimes, they have a great motivation I suppose or discipline. Watching players like Ziyech really makes it fun to be a football fan, watching all kinds of players that play great performances out of nowhere. Like Watford sucks but Ben Foster is a great goalkeeper if you ask me, even at his age, so when you are non-UK then you end up finding good players in every single team to enjoy when watching the game.

I am a non UK person who watches Premier League games. And since a few months now I even watch Italian League games. But it is the same for me supporting a local team and a foreign team,,, I support only the team and the players and coach and style. I am not a crazy fan hating others, I do not even know the birthday of my favorite players like Son!

I just like watching good football. But as a supporter, you also feel the "enjoyment" of your rivals not doing well. I do not think this is about where you are from. I believe in this thead 10% maximum of supporters are even from the same city as the club. I for sure never seen London,,, I do not even know where my club stadium is if you throw me in UK Smiley

AFCON is really picking up I would say yes,,, from the early group stages games nobody was playing too risky,,, low cards, low goals, a lot of 1-0s, but now we can see from the post-group stage everybody is playing very risky football, violent also if we believe the referees.

But today I think we see two giant teams who should hopefully play good technical football, and give us a good spectacle.

The Ivory Coast favorites will probably also be tournament favorites if they beat Egypt, but I support the Pharoahs here Smiley

So far, the only website I found offering such services is this one https://onionmixer.com/
The problem is, their social media channels seem dead, the last post on Twitter was on Nov. 2021, the telegram group looks dead as well and last published story on their Medium channels was on Nov. 2021,
so if anything goes wrong while you're using their dApp, there's no else that could help you sort it out.
Their code is audited by Certik tho, you can read it here: https://certik-public-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/REP-Onion+Mixer-2021-06-04.pdf
Listed on Coingecko too (if that's worth something  Cheesy ) https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/onion-mixer

My opinion is

Coingecko: not worth anything but maybe less worthless than CMC
Certik: not worth anything as 90% of all rug pulls were Certik audited, and they even continue to audit pure memecoins. People actually need to understand what Certik audit means and that anyone can copy pasta a rugpull to ensure they are going to pass audit from Certik Smiley
