941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DASH] Dash - Building the IoM | Dash Nation Progress Thread on: April 18, 2016, 05:47:14 PM
Hurrah for Dash Nation, I can't wait to get a passport Smiley How does Dash fair when it comes to the internet of money though? I mean, obviously digital cash is the right place to start but the IoM is more than just a buzzword and pretty damn soon everything will be talking to every other thing with payments as just another communications channel and before we know it our shoes will be sensing when their tread depth is getting low and ordering up a new pair and probably booking us in to see an orthopediatrician in the process.

Cryptocurrency has got that ball rolling, legacy currency would have got around to it sometime in the unforeseeable future but crypto's making it happen today and it will be a huge change, probably even bigger than the changes brought about by the internet with an unimaginable number and variety of transactions. Digital cash is just one part of that and maybe even a small part when most of what we do with money today can just work automagically in the background. That world is probably as inconceivable to us now as todays world was when the postal system was the cutting edge of communications technology but todays ideas will build its foundations and Dash Nation is a place for those ideas to grow.
Very well said. Thank you for all your help in demonstrating what Dash is really about. Changing two years of popular opinion was never going to be easy...  Cheesy

Good evening everyone.

This thread is becoming quite entertaining! The detractors have sensed the tide turning, and have thrown everything but the kitchen sink at us here. Lots of long winded posts, full of "half-truth, half-spin" that they have been allowed to get away with for two years. Damn, we are popular! You can arrive at your own conclusions why they are here day in and day out, it doesn't take much to figure it out.

Indeed. My pop-psychology hypothesis is that the world of cryptotech attracts a certain breed of folks that achieve a certain amount ego-gratification by poking at prominent projects. Kinda like the loudmouth 13 year old insecure punk we all knew in grade school. Heck, some of us used to be that punk. And heck, some of these guys posting are probably 13! Some sure come across as such.

Anyway... Dash is doing good things. These gnats can continue to annoy in their attempt at inflated self-importance. While they continue to proclaim the "end is nigh" and hand out Jack Chick tracts, Dash will continue to improve and innovate.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad that our simple message is getting through to people.

Dash Nation is diverse, but united in a common goal. It's not about trashing other projects, we in fact encourage competition in this open-sourced space. Competition breeds innovation. But competing through baseless attacks on other coins is not the way to do it. Dash will lead by example in the crypto space through it's dedication to progress, optimism and decentralized technology. That's what matters to us.

Good luck to ETH, good luck to XMR, good luck to LTC and all cryptos.

Dash is focused on creating the digital cash that Satoshi envisioned, the Internet of Money. That's what we intend to create, and we would welcome anyone who shares our values and wants to build an exciting product for the world to use.

Cheers,

Tao

I was especially entertained at the detractor's notions that we have no proof of anything. We have almost 20 pages of proof to back up our statements, where the detractors have not provided a single shred of evidence to prove their outrageous claims of the last two years.

We did make some progress today, with two newbie accounts coming out on the side of progress, optimism and decentralized technology. I appreciate you both voicing your views, hopefully you will not be the last. We also made progress with Busterzz, a podcast host who I consider a close personal friend, appearing here to promote his podcasts.

Do you like Amanda B. Johnson from The Daily Decrypt? Here is a great talk with her and the Dash Nation boys, I hope you enjoy:

Once again, a huge thank you to the Dash Nation members appearing here and displaying the values that Dash represents.

To the patient readers of this thread, please don't be shy. We would love to hear from some more readers. Dash Nation is inclusive, professional and solely focused on creating the digital cash that Satoshi envisioned, the Internet of Money.

I invite you to join us.

We'll talk again tomorrow.

It's goal is to become the digital cash that Satoshi envisioned, the Internet of Money.

Which it can't do given the reasons I've explained over and over again, It seems the dashnation is either oblivious to the facts or is purposely ignoring them.

Sigh. I can't make it any more simple--it's like they don't grasps that the nodes are bought with dash and earn the dash that can let the operator buy more nodes thus increasing centralization. Or that this is a problem because it requires trust to believe that this very scenario isn't happening.....you can lead a horse to water, but you can't explain the basics of cryptosystems without someway to expand its neural capabilities. Maybe nanabots or direct neural connections to expand brain capacity would help?

I'll let you get back to your attempt to get more noobs entangled within the controlled environment of the dash network. Or are those links to actual arguments that don't correspond to dash's script?
So persistent. Thank you so much for the thread bumps. You are a real gentleman.

Good morning everyone. I hope you're enjoying your day/night wherever you happen to be.

I would hope by now that you, the patient readers are starting to see a pattern in this thread, which has quickly reached seventeen pages.

The detractors, who have controlled the Dash narrative through spin and innuendo for the last two years, are desperately trying to keep this control through repetitive posts of exactly the same buzzwords.

Meanwhile, my fellow respected Dash Nation members continue to bring forward useful real information backed up by links where anyone can validate the authenticity.

As you can imagine, this is an exhausting battle, but make no mistake, as I've clearly indicated on page 12, this behavior will not be allowed to dominate the narrative about Dash.

Please, do your own research, and discover what I and all of the members of the Dash Project already know, which is that, despite its beginnings, the facts of which no one is denying, Dash is an innovative, driven and ambitious project. It's goal is to become the digital cash that Satoshi envisioned, the Internet of Money.

Join Dash Nation and help us create a passion around progress, optimism, and decentralized technology.

Thanks again for your time and open minds. We truly appreciate it.

Good evening everyone.

We're making good progress today!

I'd like to thank the boys for being good sports about us taking back the narrative that they've dominated for the past two years. I've especially noted a change of tone from Smooth, and that's appreciated. As a show of good faith, I will also change my tone. I will no longer refer to them as "school-boy bullies", I will simply refer to them as "detractors". That's progress.

Still no evidence has been brought forward to justify the hyperbolic statements they would've had you believe for the past two years, however.

To my fellow Dash Nation members, I could not be more proud of you. You are all shining examples of Dash's dedication to progress, optimism, and decentralized technology. You make my recruiting job easy when you so eloquently back up my statements. The wealth of information you brought forward today will help like-minded people reading this thread to make investment decisions, maybe even join Dash Nation if they believe in the same ideology as you. Thumbs up!

Finally, to the patient readers of this thread, thanks for bearing with us as we take Dash's identity back. If you can see yourselves working with this great group of guys and girls, passionately creating an exciting product for the world to use, we'd love for you to join us.

Dash is building the digital cash that Satoshi envisioned, the Internet of Money. There's lots of room for everyone in Dash Nation. It's borderless, worldwide.  Grin

oligarchy, you're going to be hearing the word for a long, long time.
You're quite welcome to stay here as long as you like. You're practically an honorary member of Dash Nation already just by post count in this thread...

As I've said before, I kind of like you. You possess the qualities of creativity and persistence which I admire, you're just a bit misguided due to lack of objective research.

If you were to realize this, and join us, you would be an asset to the team. I genuinely hope that this will happen one day.

You seem like a pro, unlike Evan who plays at cryptographer and Tok who plays at economist, both doing a piss-poor job in their respective roles as Trusted Experts, and I admire you for doing the best you can with the least amount of talent surrounding you, but as the saying goes, "It's better to have smart enemies than dumb friends." You really are too good for this bunch, but maybe they're paying you ( have no idea and am not insinuating that you are getting paid, only that you should be getting paid for the lack of a supporting cast), and it must be tough to stay positive in such a pile of scam and continually have to churn noobs/greater-fools onto more controlled settings within the dash media network--I'll admit the one thing that dash has going for it is hype, just sad that that is the only thing (waits for obligatory list of hypechievements that lack any significance to the greater cryptocurrency community, just more hype to lure greater fools into the oligarchy that Evan's instamine built--my obligatory pre-reply).
Don't worry, I'll turn you. The facts and my unlimited patience will sway you in time. This thread isn't going anywhere. I enjoy a challenge. I just ask you to please avail yourself of the facts. I would love to see you on our side, helping build the digital cash that Satoshi envisioned, the Internet of Money.

Are you trying to impress me with how much BS you can cram into one sentence? I'd be more impressed if you acknowledge the design flaws in dash and moved on with your life and actually supported something in Satoshi's model of a cryptosystem that is antifragile and fungible enough to act as a cash and fulfill the cryptoanarchist's promise of an economics free of tyranny and systems that benefit a few fat cats, who use their power to gain more power instead of creating useful projects that work as intended and as promised--but I'm sure you're well aware of how far you are from that dream at the moment.
Buddy, I've told you before, bring us evidence to support your claims. You will be doing Dash a favour. If not, thanks for the thread bumps. You're better than this.

... For example the two monetary researchers that wanted to use Dash as a basis for their Flow Money proposal flat out said it was the most advanced (monetarily) of all on offer. Max Keiser cited it as one of the 3 candidates for "the one" to 20 million viewers.

Who are this researchers? Do you have links? (Max Keiser too)
Thanks in advanced

I had to dig for it through the "General" sub-forum on dashtalk.org, but found it here:  https://dashtalk.org/threads/budget-proposal-proof-of-labour.8108/  Unfortunately, it didn't pass, so it's not viewable at Dashwhale, but luckily you can find the link to the Dashwhale proposal page through the above link Smiley

It's very unfortunate that this didn't pass.

Great cue there, wannabe Deckard!

Dash is the first cryptocurrency in the world to offer incentivized full nodes. That's why Dash has the strongest, fastest and largest non-Bitcoin full-node network in existence.

To run a full node you have to put up a never-spent collateral of 1000 DASH that never leaves your possession. Once set up you earn 45% of the block reward for supporting and strenghtening our network and offering an increasing amount of unique features invented by Dash (InstantX, PrivacyProtect, Blockchain Governance, soon to be more when Evolution comes out).

Some have criticized the Masternode collateral as too high, but let's not forget that anyone was able to attain one back when Dash was relatively cheap. If you're angry for missing out, don't despair: With Evolution services like decentralized and trustless Masternode sharing will become possible and implemented allowing anyone with minor amounts (probably around 50 Dash) to participate in a shared full node earning proportionate rewards and equally proportionate voting rights in the Decentralized Governance by Blockchain (invented and pioneered by Dash).
Fantastic, informative post. Thank you, Macrochip!

Good morning all.

We are definitely making progress in this thread, keeping true to the thread title. The false narrative of the last two years is giving way to the real truth, which is that Dash represents progress, optimism and decentralized technology. The team behind Dash is talented, driven and cohesively focused on one goal: Bringing to the world the true digital cash that Satoshi envisioned: the Internet Of Money.

Evan Duffield, who's name has been needlessly dragged through the mud for two years on these forums, is a professional, extremely hard-working, and honest man. I have seen times where people have sent him their wallet.dat with real funds in it so he could recover them, which he did and promptly sent the wallet back. I'm deeply proud to be associated with him, and to be part of the team creating this wonderful product.

Thanks for bearing with us as the truth slowly starts to set in. Two years is a long time.

I invite you to join us in Dash Nation.

Tao (Dash Nation Campaign Founder)

www.dashndrink.com

Hmmmmm, so your narrative is that Evan didn't steal these people's funds because he can be trusted? Instead of the narrative that he didn't steal their funds because it's chump change in the grand scheme of the things?

Let's further analyze--a potential lifetime of taxation for every node he owns versus a one time heist that could cause further investigation into his actions and destroy his reputation once and for all?

What I think Tao has done better than anyone else in the dash community is correctly identify that the dash oligarchy (since it can't be verified or unverified trustlessly) must be fed with a continual line of peasants/greater-fools who implicitly trust in Evan's development and economic motivations rather than that the system itself was designed to prevent an oligarchy. Well played--except for the obvious misunderstanding that programmable money is supposed to work trustlessly .

I'm one of those greater fools you speak of... I only joined Dash Nation in June '14. Thanks for looking out for my interests, but I'll be OK.
