961  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks Suck on: August 03, 2015, 10:15:26 AM
You guys are all assuming I have a bank account that's not frozen.  Undecided

However, thank you all for taking the time to post and defend the honor of these blood sucking parasites.

don't use a bank account anymore, use something like a debit card that work as a bank account itself, liek with deutesche bank, i mean those cards that have the IBAN on the rear

they have lower cost if not zero and they are far more manageable

How can you have a debit card without having an actual bank account? In my country I can't think of any bank that will let you have a card unless you open an account with them in beforehand.
962  Economy / Economics / Re: Deutsche Bank Says Good Things about Bitcoin on: August 03, 2015, 10:11:31 AM
Where is the actual quote? it doesn't seem clear to me that they are talking about Bitcoin, but once again "blockchain technology". It seems like another case of "forget about Bitcoin, lets talk about the blockchain" idiocy.
963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox CEO admits tweaking account on: August 03, 2015, 10:08:20 AM
He's probably going to get something along the lines of a 5 to 6 year incarceration and he'll be released afterwards with no charges. He'll probably have tons of hidden BTC somewhere and will remain a millionaire for the rest of his life. Would you be 5 years in jail to be released as a millionaire? maybe for some is a good deal.
964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: August 03, 2015, 10:06:05 AM
I think the biggest problem with Bitcoin is how difficult it is to keep it secure my bitcoin. even i use 2FA for secure my bitcoin but i'm still feel no safe

Make a paper wallet with encryption thought bip38, wrap it around a material that will avoid the paper from getting deteriorated due air, humidity, even fire.. save it somewhere safe, create this wallet offline and print it offline... there you have it, unhackeable bitcoin wallet.
965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long would we have to wait to see a bitcoin address collision? a LONG time. on: August 03, 2015, 10:04:31 AM
What would happen if this actually happened? Like what would the consequences be of an address being generated as new, actually being one with a previous history and record? what would happen if you did a transaction? would the funds of said address suddendly pop on your wallet? weird stuff to think about, its almost like a glitch in the matrix.
966  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many friends did you recommend bitcoin to? Did they accept it? on: August 03, 2015, 10:01:55 AM
Due to crisis that spreads far beyond Greece and the European Union, talk to my friends and colleagues about a new currency that has immense potential so that most scare due to its high price and cost.

You mean your friends are scared of Bitcoin because it costs 300 dollars? Whats the point? Im amazed some people still don't get even if 1 Bitcoin was 1 billion dollars it would still be the same, money coming in in fiat -> money coming out in Bitcoin. You don't need to buy entire Bitcoins..
967  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Over $300 on: August 02, 2015, 01:50:02 PM
We went 278'ish yesterday and today we are again 280+. It's clear that the support on 280 is strong enough. Im personally beting for 300+ in the coming days, I dont believe in a correction right now. Too many good news and big hands getting nervous which may lean in panic buying for those that aren't already In.
968  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling the bottom on: August 02, 2015, 01:46:49 PM
FUD.
So these days the term old is defined as 6 years. Very interesting.

Sure, for a house, 6 years is not old.  For a cellphone, a computer, or website design?  Yeah, plenty old.  Welcome to the fast-paced world of cryptocurrencies Smiley

...  I'm not completely clear on your stance towards it, but I do not like it.

Seems to be the de facto for Bitcoin diehards: "I don't get it, so I don't like it."  Nothing new.

Quote
One of the fundamental ideas of Bitcoin is the separation of money and state. Bitcoin was supposed to give back the power of the people and try to damage the established world order (that is harmful to the average man). Bitcoin has been successfully doing this ever since markets opened and adoption started.

If by "average man" you mean "a handful of early adopters"...

...we're on the same page.    Nothing remotely democratic about Bitcoin wealth distribution.  Same game, new players.

Yes, Bitcoin's distribution doesn't differ much from fiat distribution. But that is because it's impossible to make a good distribution across people unless you are a communist and don't allow people to stack money even if they deserve it by being pioneers and taking higher risk. So get to work and get BTC while you can still be a pioneer, so in 10 years you don't have to complain about it.
969  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: August 02, 2015, 01:44:05 PM
Yes,but problem is how to make bitcoin, without a job?
a lot of ways to earn bitcoin, you choose the appropriate that you want or that you control, you can mine, trade bitcoin or altcoin, faucet, and maybe you can join camp sign, still many others you just choose

Those aren't jobs and will not pay the bills, unless you are like 15 you aren't getting any money doing any of that.
The reality is finding a real job for Bitcoin is still a pipedream. Few people are doing real, good paid jobs for Bitcoin because simply few businessmen will know what Bitcoin is and pay you with it.
970  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: August 02, 2015, 01:41:39 PM
I'm very confused..
I'm new in bitcoin and I think signature campaign for newbie is hard..
Any advice beside faucets? Should I be patience for 100 days(get full member) by only posting&doing faucets.. Or I should try new way beside signature campaign and faucets?

I think you should go for senior member accounts which pay higher rates as compared to newbie or full member account, and again you need to wait for the right signature campaign who pays a good amount of btc and also need to take care that its an genuine campaign.

well you can join already at some signatures ,soo you can maximize your earnings here ,if you got some money try to make something new ,maybe a new game ,maybe a new way to get bitcoins.

Yes Signature Campaigns are the good source to earn bitcoins, and the payout is guaranteed so there is no risk involved in it. I am 1 BTC per month from the signature campaigns and I believe it is a descent amount to earn.

For me, 1 BTC is like a extra income taking care of my basic stuffs like bills, grocery stuff and I am very much satisfied with it, in future I would use my luck in trading.

1 BTC is a huge amount!
At 0.0011 per post based on your rank and bit-x's payouts that would require over 900 posts a month or 30 a day... at that point you really are just spamming.

I like the sig campaigns since I can get a little extra BTC for doing what I already do, post about 20-30 posts per week and receiving 0.02-0.03 per week.

I have 4 accounts dude. I am not saying that I am earning it from a single account.  How can one earn from a single account a value of 1 BTC, it is simply impossible. Other 3 accounts are handled by my friends. And I am just helping them out to earn extra income for them as well.

Aren't you scared that the friends would eventually betray you and change the passwords of the accounts and the BTC addresses and use those accounts for their own benefit only? I've thought about giving my other account to someone I know but im not sure if I can trust them. I wish there was a way to do this safely, but unfortunately this forum ignores email verification so you cant lend accounts, if a person owns the pass they own the account.
971  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: August 02, 2015, 01:03:07 PM
buy now an hodl for the halving.

One would have to invest insane amount of money in order to get rich from the halving itself. Let's assume the price even goes to triple value of what it is now,
it would still force you to invest ~300k USD to be a millionaire.
But even tho it is not the best way to get rich, i believe it is the safest way to earn, and cash in on the halving.

cheers

Sure, the halving is a pretty much guaranteed pump, but how do you when to sell, and how do you know when to buy back? it's a big gamble, you may lose your position forever if you do the wrong move and be out of the train unable to get in back. I don't know what im going to do in the halving, to hold or to try to profit from it? we'll see.
972  Economy / Economics / Re: Why not just print dollars? on: August 02, 2015, 12:56:43 PM
Grin the good point of bitcoin ... is that you can print paper money if you want : https://www.bitaddress.org

and, it's real value !  Cheesy

You're right that bitcoin can't be printed when more is needed.

You're wrong that bitcoin has real value. The value is perceived because all of us place value upon it...just as we do fiat currency.

There is no tangible thing that supports the value of bitcoin, that can prove there is value to it.

There's no Gold, no Silver, no other tangible item that exists in the world...just the promise that only so much bitcoin can every be mined and that the validity of transactions and balances are verified by the community that uses it.

Nothing has intrinsic value. Gold has no intrinsic value, same for silver. No one cares about gold and silver beyond what can you buy with it. That's all that matters, if people accept it in exchange and good and services it's money. So Bitcoin is the best form of money we've ever seen.
973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HELP!! Do these actually work? on: August 02, 2015, 12:54:58 PM
All those "generate free bitcoins" or "gambling trick" videos are scams, specially if they ask you to download software to do it. If you filter searches by "Bitcoin" and you order them in "date of upload" you'll see Youtube is being massively flooded with videos like that. Someone has a ton of free time or it's an actual bot flooding Youtube with those videos waiting for naive people to click.
974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earn bitcoin by sharing your bandwidth on: August 02, 2015, 12:41:13 PM
So how much can you earn monthly for example for sharing your bandwidth with Bitmesh? Any estimates?

Probably not much at all. This sounds as if you were mining in as shared mining pool so I would expect similar results. Overall not worth it unless it works in a different way.
975  Other / Off-topic / Re: DO YOU HAVE 1 BITCOIN? on: August 02, 2015, 12:34:01 PM
It seems a lot of people have lost their Bitcoin over gambling. If you haven't learned the lesson yet I don't know what to tell you, but i'll say it again: Never gamble what you can't lose, same goes for trading which can be considered pretty much a gamble.
976  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bit-X is the worst bitcoin prepaid card ever on: August 02, 2015, 12:31:56 PM
All prepaid cars are a joke compared to simply moving your funds from your main wallet to a Mycellium wallet in your smartphone. I'm not paying a single satoshi in fees to those guys.
977  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin: ‘Europe should be more independent, defend own interests’ on: August 01, 2015, 05:22:10 PM
Europe is a dying continent, which is dependent upon the Americans for most of the basic needs (especially defense). A few decades ago, one-third of the world population lived within the British Empire. The United Kingdom possessed one of the most powerful armed forces in the world. Look at the situation now. The UK has become another vassal state of the US. And the strength of the British Army is now in the tens of thousands.

I think you are a bit delusional with such claim. Sure, Europe is undergoing an huge crisis, but then again what country isn't? American's multitrillion dollar debt's situation isn't any better. Europe will always have amazing touristic points of interest and is still the leading manufacturer of cars. No one makes cars better than the Germans and I doubt anyone can surpass them. This alone moves millions all over the world.
978  Economy / Economics / Re: In what situations is a barter economy better than a monetary economy? on: August 01, 2015, 03:48:07 PM
When everyone has a robot and can produce everything he basically needs, so he don't need money to survive

It will take a lot of time reach that point. Also, you may have the robots, but no the natural resources in your country. Therefore, you will need to negotiate and do business with foreign countries to get resources that your country lacks. For example, you may live in a very cold country where you don't get any quality fruits, and countries that live in warmer places have abundant high quality tropical foods. You would need to negotiate with them and I don't think barter will be better than cryptocurrency.
979  Economy / Economics / Re: Pegasus Island: Thought experiements on the nature of money and economies. on: August 01, 2015, 03:33:42 PM
So the island would be a libertarian 0% taxes paradise I guess? Because no one would bother with it when the blockchain is 100% obfuscated. And dont get me wrong I love privacy, but I think people that are serving public jobs should have their money movements 100% transparent. Does Monero allow for switching between complete anon to transparent? Because BTC will eventually allow for that.

Yes, Monero addresses have a viewkey that can be given out to allow someone to view the contents of an address without the ability to spend them.  This is pretty much the final masterstroke in the system, because it allows for anonymous digital currency and tax/regulatory compliance as well.

Taxes would work fine on the island if the people voted them in.  They would simply say that everyone had to reveal how many gems they had every year and then part with 5% of those to the village Wisemen.

But, with the gems system (Monero) if someone doesn't want to reveal all the gems he/she holds, you're going to have to conduct an investigation to prove they are withholding; you don't automatically know thanks to privacy.

This is how it should be.

If you demand that public officials and government workers get paid only in public money, that's what we have bitcoin for.

This sounds great and im holding XMR since ages ago, but I still think there's no way Monero will ever surpass BTC. BTC's network effect it's too strong at this point, and the powers that be will love a public, non-anonymous-by-default blockchain. Unfortunately, i think Monero may become the #1 coin used in darkweb or something, but not mainstream.
980  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: August 01, 2015, 03:29:38 PM
the transactions are instant , only confirmations get some time ,anyway,be able to buy with bitcoins is on of the big purposes of it lower the fees paying less and getting a good product as we would pay with fiat.Atleast is should be like that since the fees to pay and receive in bitcoins are very low,soo i hope commerce and people understand that they can have the same profit asking a lower ammount with bitcoins.

I don't understand why people complain (or some people complain) about Bitcoins confirmation times and want faster confirmation times, when credit cards may take up to 180 days to fully confirm a transaction and have it safe from chargebacks. I mean 10min vs 180 days, isn't this revolutionary enough?
