961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tencoin - A wealth re-distributive cryptocurrency. Is it possible? on: May 11, 2013, 02:52:26 AM
Would it be possible to limit the number of addresses created per client?
Maybe but pointless.  VM's, farms of computers (classrooms) or worse BOTNETS will LOVE this currency.  A botnet is now worth all of the coin it can collect by creating addresses one unique per computer.  A classroom tech can put it on every machine in the room/building.

So far every possible idea on how to define what a person is and give them a share, fails the botnet test.
962  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin T-Shirts and embroidered polo shirts paid via BTC on: May 10, 2013, 09:37:24 PM
Is there any chance you guys will be adding girls t-shirts?

We have girls t-shirts.

Maybe someday you will actually stock a product vs just have a cafepress site that does not even take BTC.

I make girls shirts on order which is pretty good because most of the other companies make EVERYTHING on order.  I have stock on 60 different shirt/size combos.

Seal the room up.  Turn off the central aircon to that room.

Get a board that covers half of the window, fit a 6" fan to that, with piping that goes below your rig.  Leave the other half of the window open.  Air being sucked in from outside will blow through the rig, be heated and exhaust out the open side of the window.  Simple.

This will work to some degree and is cheap.  Better yet would be to go to 12".

bought 4, lets see if they cancel it or ship it.
965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [wts] white litecoin shirt $18 shipped USA on: May 10, 2013, 02:55:39 AM
15$ and shipping to europe.

Here is the problem, shipping to Europe is minimum $13 depending on size my cost.  USPS nearly doubled the price of lighter weight packages in February.  If you have a small or medium size, $13 should cover it.

So yes, I am willing to do $15 plus cost of shipping to Europe.

I did it and it worked.  99 cents!  Here is my referral code, if you start with this you get some kind of photo credits (and so do I).

nice !

Thanks.  I have 50 different items available and I would sell any of them from LTC or BTC.
968  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: As a store owner who accepts bitcoins, anyone who wants can track my income on: May 09, 2013, 03:26:28 PM
I am sorry to say, but it not user friendly at all.
Keeping track of so many addresses can be a real pain especially if I am a successful shop with 10 - 100 transaction a day.
It seems that bitcoin is not suitable for large scale # of transactions.

Consider bitpay.com or other similar service.
969  Economy / Goods / Re: [Ann] Shirtoshi.com: finally, nice bitcoin shirts! on: May 09, 2013, 03:11:08 AM
The new orange one look okay, did you ever think of a polo shirt with that same logo on the breast perhaps? Just a thought, I wear a lot of polo shirts personally.

I have embroidered bitcoin polos in stock.  S-XXL

970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2000 Feathercoin Bounty] Promotional Animation/Video on: May 09, 2013, 02:02:18 AM
You are promoting a copy cat coin, so there needs to be something else happening for mass adoption- simple promotion is not going to cut it.

You need to open stores, gambling, and services... actual uses for Feathercoin other than just exchanging it to other currencies.

You can create a promotional video for a pile of crap, however at the end of the day it is still a pile of crap.
+1

Minor changes to a coin algo is not going to beat a coin that already has a multi-million dollar presence.  So many coins and so many of them add almost nothing, just a slight gimmick to make them different.  Different is not better.

Litecoin has some good features over BTC, not that I think that its better, but it does fill a void.  Feathercoin does no such thing.  It is basically a clone of Litecoin.
971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHy the fuck so many alt coins? on: May 09, 2013, 01:55:32 AM
I think the more altcoins the better. Bitcoin is only minable by the rich and insiders now a days.

If owning a single 5770 makes a person rich then rich it is.  You can mine with less, but a 5770 will do the trick.
972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SolidCoins on: May 09, 2013, 01:34:13 AM
You can trade them at mxcnow.com for what its worth
A few dollars at most.
973  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Difficulty Skyrocketing. on: May 09, 2013, 01:31:15 AM
jump on CHC train !

Apparently that is the place to go for scrypt miners.  Who knows how long that will last.
974  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help! BitPay ate my bitcoins! on: May 07, 2013, 10:23:20 PM
Bitpay is quite reliable and they have always fixed any (rare) problems that occur. The last problem I had was a customer overpayment and they fixed it fast.  Contact them and be patient.
975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need an energy efficient algo on: May 07, 2013, 10:12:30 PM
( ) ASIC friendly
( ) Botnet friendly

Choose one.

There could be a coin that had HUGE memory requirements on the order of 8gb or more that could cut out both but if course require the purchase of memory.

Memcoin.  You heard it here first.
976  Economy / Goods / Re: [SELL] iPhone 4S black 16gb on: May 07, 2013, 10:07:46 PM
The "may be" in combination with someone selling several phones worries me.

Worried? Hmmm. Would it be practical to lie about the esn being bad so I can get less money? Where do you see several iPhones up for sale?

Bad ESN phones are quite common and most are not stolen.   +1 for being honest and free bump
977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are not scams? on: May 07, 2013, 10:06:01 PM
Bitcoin
Litecoin
Namecoin
PPcoin
Feathercoin
Sorry.  The last two do not add much.  They MIGHT have slight advantage over litecoin but they are too late. First mover advantage trumps a minor tweak.
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what the hell is the deal with all the ddos attacks on every alt currency? on: May 07, 2013, 10:03:33 PM
I haven't heard DDOS thrown around in 2 days, I thought the community finally learned what It meant. I guess not.

Do you know what it means? Distributed Denial of Service attack. Define.

I know exactly what it means. I have not heard of a true DDOS attack on any of the alt-coins recently. Only too much load from too many users.
Most probably correct.  A bunch of pool ddos attacks are probably just the result of running a pool on a botnet friendly coin.  If the coin is profitable botnets will want to get in on it.
979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin and FPGA/ASIC resistance on: May 07, 2013, 04:29:35 AM
It is just a matter of time... there will allways be someone smarter
- just my humble opinion

As litecoin has already changed the algo once, they can change it again.  It is doubtful that much can be done beyond GPU's with scrypt due to the memory requirements.  You could create an ASIC but with the RAM requirements it would be large and one quick change to the formula would increase the ram requirements in an instant killing the usefulness of the ASIC.
980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Create A new viable AltCoin on: May 07, 2013, 04:24:32 AM
Someone could create a site called 'instacoin'.  It would take parameters and generate ALL of the files needed to make a new alt-coin.  Just upload the logo, set the rates, block sizes, mining formula and other features and the site would bundle everything into one downloadable zip.  With the number of new add almost nothing alt-coins out there I am surprised this site does not exist already.
