982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why can't altcoins merge? on: June 21, 2014, 06:25:12 PM
Piggycoin did something similar to the above suggestion(s) recently. They shifted from a Scrypt blockchain to X11, and it involved setting up a link where you sent your old coins to be burned. A premine on the X11 chain provided the necessary coin supplies to reimburse everyone who sent their old Scrypt piggies in to be burned. In principle you could do this with multiple coins at once, handing out a single new coin for the old ones being sent in. (Kind of like counterparty as well, come to think of it.)

It's not decentralized system if someone handles the transactions being sent out.

There are two tricky parts to the system, as you mentioned XCP-like distribution system

and Market value/supply and etc of this brand new coin.

The most tedious part would be compiling over 500-1000+ Alt-coin wallets so the coin is truly universal
983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why can't altcoins merge? on: June 21, 2014, 06:14:40 PM
Quote
The holders of the coin with the least value with receive an equivalent of the coin of the higher value at the time of the merger.

how would you achieve that in a "trusted", fair way ?

Make a system which burns ANY alt-coin, and gives an appropriate amount of X coin to the user, according to burned coins current market value.

That's how you dominate markets and unite all currencies into one currency.

This idea is free to use, just let me know if you do it so i can watch the progress ^^

Oh my mistake, i actually went through and was fixing several errors (one of them was editing posts on our forums). One of those errors is something a user suggested.

So we ended up re-building our forums and adding a lot of modifications.

I'll re-create the topic, sorry for your inconvience.

And yes, we have multiple segments in our forums: www.coinssource.com/fourms

Ah... I was the one who suggested on your site the editing fix. Just wanted to add the giveaways/freebie suggestion, and didn't know where to post it.

Awesome, we went ahead and found the solution to that problem that was occurring Smiley

And yes, we implemented an alt-coin giveaway section, we will fully reveal it on the site and market it further in the coming week.
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: History of NEM: An Interactive Timeline - CoinsSource.com on: June 18, 2014, 09:36:31 PM

We are well aware, none the less we wanted to cover NEM's history.
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / History of NEM: An Interactive Timeline - CoinsSource.com on: June 18, 2014, 09:30:26 PM
Here is our exclusive piece of News and an interative time-line piece we did on NEM. Due to the coin being known for over 5 months now and the alpha testing approaching quickly, we decided to really dig-in-depth and reveal the history of NEM.

Forum issues on the site? I don't see that improvements link anymore.

One suggestion I thought of: offer a giveaways section. I don't mean to turn it into cryptosandwich and actively promote coins, as that could be looked upon as a conflict of interest for any site reviewing coins. But no real harm doing it like polo, just have a little giveaway tab, occasionally give away a random coin. It'd both promote new coins (in a minor way) and also bring traffic to the site.

You could also use that same section to mention/review giveaways here in this forum. There are less coins doing the free distribution model lately, but for a while there we were so overloaded with them that it was easy to lose track -- com/itc/smurfs/energy/sunflower, etc. A little section mentioning what cryptos currently have full or partial free distribution probably would be of use to people.

June 23rd is the OFFICIAL and FINAL launch for premium section.
