981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New to Bitcoin on: June 22, 2023, 08:19:06 PM
hi guys im 64 years old and i want to learn how to use bitcoin email me at stevenjohnstone@mail.com with any tips or whatever i need to learn so i can make money these days

Nobody needs to send you an inbox personally to teach you about bitcoins. You joined this forum to learn about bitcoins and you will and learn from everyone here even pointed in the direction to get good materials of only you just ask the question like you have asked this in the beginners and help section of this forum.

Apart from you putting yourself up as potential victims to scammers, it also sounds more suspicious than naive that you are putting up your emails in a public place for strangers to contact you.

983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hold Bitcoin VS Hold Gold on: June 21, 2023, 07:40:22 PM
In this topic I will tell you about two camps; people who like Bitcoin and people who like Gold. So, Hold Bitcoin or Hold Gold ?. We will see from several aspects; Historical, Creator, Supply, Environmental Issue, and Monetary Function.

Between Gold and Bitcoin BTC
Bitcoins and Gold are both good to hold, and if you can hold both of them, you should without completely choosing one over the other. It does not always have to be a choice, if you can afford to, having some gold and having some more bitcoins is a better choice.

You can safely, closely and easily keep your bitcoins. If it must be a choice between the two and where you must choose, bitcoins should be the choice.

984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A hilarious video that shows so many persons ignorance about bitcoin on: June 21, 2023, 06:25:07 PM
I read somewhere in this forum, I can't particularly place the section but the person said, there's no one in this century who hasn't heard about Bitcoin and who doesn't know the future it holds for us and I was of the opinion that that can't be true.
Just like the gospel in the Christian doctrine, it has not been preached in many places and many people do not yet know about it even though the gospel of Christ has been existing for a long time. The same goes for cryptocurrency and bitcoins, It will be naive for you to assume that everyone around the world has heard about bitcoins just because you have.

If we all contribute in our way to sharing word about bitcoins, it will go a long way in reducing the ignorance people have about cryptocurrency and bitcoins.
985  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Invest small money and get big money avoid them. on: June 21, 2023, 05:11:37 PM
People are greedy. That is what scammers are using to scam the novices.

100% investment profit in just a week is definitely a scam.
It is just very unfortunate that there will always be greedy people like this for scammers to work on. No matter how much the existence of this kind of scam is talked about, people will always fall victims whenever a new well packaged one is started because the people behind these scams know how to always make it enticing and not like the other one that just failed.

Funny enough, even well knowledgeable individuals can still fall victim depending on how organised and packaged the scammers make it to be.

I personally avoid any scheme that tell me to invest and get a ridiculous ROI in a very short timeframe, I also avoid any scheme that tells me to invest and bring two other people to invest under me.
986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do gambling addicts bother about the consequences of their actions? on: June 21, 2023, 04:50:57 PM
1. Do gambling addicts ever take a second thought on what the consequences of their actions can be not just to them but on those close to them?
Addicts to other habits that do not have an effect on others rarely care about consequences or have accepted to live with the consequences of their actions since it only concerns them, but addiction to gambling is different because it has potentials to affect other people very close to you.

An addicted gambler either caring or not caring for the consequences on others depends on the nature of the individual. For an individual who asides being an addict is considerate, considering the consequences on people close to them can be enough reason to stop gambling or try to ensure it never gets to that. For an addicted gambler who is inconsiderate by nature, they will not care or consider others, they will selfishly do things and expect other people close to them to understand and live with the consequences.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: June 21, 2023, 04:07:55 PM
It is practically impossible for a casino to go completely bankrupt due to a user winning a huge amount of money, this is because casinos nowadays are much wiser, they don't necessarily install algorithms that sees that users don't keep winning, but they do have a winning limit in place, which ensures a user does not win above that limit regardless of the amount the users bets, like for example, on stake.com, if a user bets a huge amount of money and from the odds, it's seen that the user could win money above the casinos win limit, the system will warn the user to reduce he's or her bet amount or go for game with smaller odds.

For players who win constantly, the casino does also limit such players from going full bets on the games the see the player wins constantly..

So overall, casinos have mechanisms in place, that ensures that a user never wins an amount that could drive the casino to bankruptcy.
New casinos under management from new people who are inexperienced in running the casino business can go bankrupt from a player's very large win or if many players with a large sum of money at the same time because they may not know this strategy that you have explained if they do not seek for it.

Older casinos under management from more experienced managers who are not new to the casino business will never let it happen because the casino is a business that is aimed at bringing profit, and there are methods and strategies in place to ensure it.
988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: June 20, 2023, 02:44:00 PM
What is the possibility of the betting agent getting his money soon/considering the gambler's low-income earnings?
They will just have to come to a settlement, because they are both at fault.

The gambling agent is greedy, he wanted to make more money that is why he allowed this person to gamble on credit even when he knows that this person does not have the money to pay.

Your worker on site is also at fault because of his inability to control himself, and instead of trying to settle the debt after he has gotten into it, he was trying to avoid the responsibility.

The settlement should be the worker saying how much he will be able to pay daily from what he earns until he is able to settle the debt. The betting agent will have to abide by it as a lesson to him too not to lend someone money to gamble with in his own shop.

989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current Topic: AFCON Qualifiers 2023. on: June 20, 2023, 12:28:43 PM
Whether a win or draw, Nigeria still qualifies for the AFCON
Good news for Nigeria, but heading to the AFCON, there are strong concerns about if the current super eagles coach José Peseiro is the best option to lead the country to that competition. José Peseiro was appointed on 15 May 2022 and the contract is to end this june.

During his time, Nigeria lost two international friendly games to Mexico and Ecuador, won Sierra Leone and Sao Tome & Principe in the AFCON qualifiers, lost to Algeria and Portugal in another two International friendly games, Lost to Guinea Bissau in one AFCON qualifiers game and won the other, they also won against Sierra Leone in the second leg of the AFCON qualifiers. In total, he has lost five games and won just four.

Do you think he should continue?
990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: June 19, 2023, 09:42:59 PM
The england boys are just totally having fun with their fixture with north Macedonia, I mean 7-0 trashing is not something you see everyday especially not in a country game qualifiers like this. Harry kane and his boys are having the night of their lifes as they continue pouring the goals in without any relent. It would be nice to see them play like this in the actual tournament but we all know thats going to be a different story.
There will be tougher challenges for this England team to face together, tougher teams than Malta and North Macedonia. As a strong supporter of Arsenal, I was proud of our golden boy and how he played today, being able to score his first international career hat trick at such an early age. The goals were awesome goals too especially the second goal.

Good game for some England players too, From Harry Kane increasing his lead as England best striker so far, First International career goal for Kalvin Phillips for England too.

North Macedonia did not have any shots on or off target in the game, shows how much England covered them in the game
991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: June 19, 2023, 07:35:11 PM
Yes, the France vs Greece match is a very interesting match.
More serious than England against North Macedonia and it looks like a game that will head into halftime with both team unable to score. It will be more frustrating for the French team and more of a successful first half for Greece.

In England and North Macedonia, it is a different result with England already three goals up with the first goal from Harry kane, the second from Arsenal's golden boy Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford in the final minutes. All three of England's forward have now scored in this game. England will score more in the second half.
992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A no-Bitcoin friend turned a old Bitcoiner on: June 19, 2023, 05:47:52 PM
Today I get to know from a relative of his, who thought that we are into Bitcoin investment together, a coincidence that brings up some suspicious thought, now I am left with thoughts of why he was hiding this all along from me?

At first I though maybe he was scared bringing me along, but it doesn't make any sense because I thought I knew better than him and I needed to teach him.

What do you think is probably ongoing here?
You most likely feel betrayed, because your openness in the friendship was not reciprocated.

While other people may feel like you were not told because your friend was interested in his privacy, telling you considering the relationship you have with him that he knew about bitcoins even when you were trying to talk to him about it would have taken nothing from him.

You are deeper in friendship with this person than they are for you, that is a lesson that you must learn, and also learn from them how to shut your mouth. Not everyone needs to know what you know, don't say if you are not asked.
993  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Africa needs peace in Ukraine and Russia. on: June 19, 2023, 03:30:45 PM
Recently six African countries have scheduled to visit Russia and Ukraine in an attempt to seek peace. They are aware that this war is affecting the continent negatively and that the war should end. We know many more powerful nations have tried to end this war but failed, I am just praying that South Africa, Zambia, Senegal, the Republic of Congo, Uganda, and Egypt might find a way to end this war.
This one na over do, this one wey dem one do so, they themselves know say nothing go come out. Dem never focus to try end the war and crisis wey dey Africa, na another continent own dem wan gather go dey do good face. Unfortunately their weight nor reach anywhere. Where elephant dey fight, grass cutter nor suppose put head.

The crisis affects Africa in some way, but as they are gathering to try to stop the war, they should also gather to try to stop other crisis and suffering in the African Continent.
994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Nations League final four ⚽ on: June 18, 2023, 09:11:09 PM
The statistics regarding shots on target is just horrible so far. I thought we would see at least a couple of goals in regular + extra time. Both teams don't want to take big risks currently as it is getting more difficult make up for it. As Croatia's extra time performance recently is really good Spain had better be aware against a surprise goal in these minutes.
Few minutes to go with both teams tired, and Spain is the team putting all the pressure, Croatia just waiting for a moment to take their chances. Shots of target has been plenty especially for Spain who have just had it difficult getting their shots on target. Ansu Fati has been a very effective for Spain since he came on, but this game is going to penalties from what I see and the Croatian coach is already getting set for it, that is why Luka Modric is still on.

Croatia have a good record of winning on penalties, they will be the more confident of the two sides if it gets to that.
995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current Topic: AFCON Qualifiers 2023. on: June 18, 2023, 09:02:27 PM
Nigeria made six substitute which wasn't necessary.
Substitution is necessary when necessary, and a professional manager decides it. If Nigeria made six substitutions and lost, then you can call the substitution unnecessary. If the National team manager did not make substitutions and the lost the game, he would have be blamed for not making any substitution. Nigeria won the game and that is the bottom line.

Congratulations to the super eagles, they have already qualified for the AFCON even though there is a game to play.
996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Nations League final four ⚽ on: June 18, 2023, 07:37:11 PM
Let me see what Modric and Co have for me tonight
Modric, Marcelo Brozovic and Mateo Kovacic have been too much for Spain to control because of how they have been rotating positions. Croatia started slow, but slowly were able to create even better decent chances than what Spain have to me. Spain is playing a really high line, but they need to be careful because one well time run from Croatia, and they will be through.

It has been a fair contest with good performance from both team final worthy. I know that there will be goals in the second half and for any team that scores first, it could just be that one goal.

Dani Carvajal should start the second half for Spain with players like Ansu Fati be given enough time to play.
997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We the Bitcoin Enthusiasts, How can we Safequard our Holdings in Turbulent Times on: June 17, 2023, 06:25:27 PM
How might the closure of a prominent cryptocurrency exchange like Binance affect investors confidence in the broader crypto market, and what steps do you think enthusiasts can take to safeguard their investments in such situations? Please share tips.

I'm thinking about closing my key positions for the time being.
Safety involves being aware of all the security threats and making sure not to be a victim of any. Your bitcoin holding is your personal responsibility to secure, and to safeguard your bitcoin as an enthusiast, you have to make it you duty to be aware of every security threat old and new that can affect your bitcoins.

A bitcoin Hodler who is unaware of the threats that his bitcoins faces is has already given opportunity for loss to meet his/her bitcoins.

Safeguarding of bitcoins is what every newbie to bitcoin investment should concern themselves about, the importance of knowing about the safety of your own investment cannot be overlooked.
998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think topics/discussion on gambling addictions is too much on: June 17, 2023, 05:37:17 PM
Or what do you think?
True about there being many topics already about gambling addiction. There is always concern about gambling addictions and every gambler has a way of expressing themselves. Topics about gambling addiction will always be raised unless there is a specific thread were people concerned know where to take their discussion to.  Addiction is a major challenge facing gambling and as long as gambling is a topic, addiction to it will always be addressed as well as ways to reduce the number of people who are already addicted.
999  Economy / Economics / Re: 85% of AI start-ups will fail within 3 years. on: June 17, 2023, 04:56:45 PM
What do you think, are we experiencing an AI startup boom like the dot-com bubble? And do you think that 85% of them will fail within 3 years?
85% of them may fail because there will be other AI technology to quickly become a preference if these present AI's fail to meet up to usage.

These AI's that are already in existence will become prototypes for these new AI's to build from and offer something better so many will fail and stop being used unless they become better.

AI technology is the future and from what already exists presently, this technology can only get better and technology progresses.
1000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Friendly Match is Hard to Predict on: June 17, 2023, 04:13:58 PM

how about you?
Betting on friendly games can be risky because even a high performing team can decide to play easy in a friendly game to avoid injury and end up loosing the game. Also coaches may use it as a time to try out new strategy, so it is not the best game to bet on. The results can go differently from whatever you expect.

Friendly games look always friendly to bet on, but the results are always far from friendly.
