1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Pool | Euro 2024 ⚽ Discussion Thread on: May 31, 2024, 11:53:20 PM
but can anyone help me out and be so kind to give me a realistic estimate as to how time consuming it is on a weekly basis? I know that it differs for everyone and how much they want to put into it,
Time consuming? A similarity between all of us in this pool is that we all love football and we can gamble on it, so I do not think it is time-consuming for any of us because playing in the pool means keeping up with new information about players, their availability, their game fitness and injury updates, watching games, etc., which is not new to most of us because we did them on our own out of love for the sport even before joining this fantasy pool. So if you already love the sport, that is a plus for you, because whatever you do here will just be you having some fun.

If you have interest in joining us for the next season, you are much welcomed.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are any of you guys are winning with probably fair games? on: May 31, 2024, 11:43:35 PM
~
...So what is the skill in what you know how to do but you are losing money or coins to casinos. That literarily means the person is not skillful at it.
That you lose money to a casino in a skill-based game does not always mean that you are not skilled at it; what it can mean too is that you are not skilled enough to beat the casino. But because even the most skilled cannot boast of a consistent advantage over a casino whenever they play a skill-based game, the argument skill has some room for continuance.

Skills in gambling will be more evident when it is a game played between players, where it is possible for the most skilled to win continuously, and the casino gets commissions for each game played by players. Casinos need to win too, which is why, regardless of your skill level, as long as it is a game against the house, you must lose at some point for them to win.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Are People Not Interested To Listen To Success Stories Of Bitcoin Investors? on: May 31, 2024, 04:04:58 PM
3) Why does it take my family members who abused me when I encountered a loss in my investment to listen to my success story even when they have seen enough evidence?
If you do not have enough evidence to yet prove your success then you do not need to waste your words rather focus more effort so that your evidence will show and then you would not need to talk much to convince those family members who abused you when you first made a loss in your investment.

4) Why do people find it difficult to announce here when they recover from their losses but they come out to cry when they have a little loss?.
Most individuals are sorry collectors; they just like to be in a position where people pity them, which is why they do not keep the story of their losses to themselves.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being a Bitcoiner Boosts Financial Literacy and Personal Growth on: May 31, 2024, 03:16:52 PM
What do you guys think. Are the findings of the study relatable in your experience, or that of someone you know on this forum or elsewhere?
The findings are relatable in my experience because I have witnessed my own development as well, which has only happened because I have become a regular member of the forum who doesn't just come online to make posts and go off, but I actually read people's contributions across the different boards, commenting when necessary and just reading when there is nothing to say, or what I have to say has been said.

I have met many P2P agents who are not members of this forum, and the difference in knowledge is very obvious because there are many things they know nothing about, but to others who know nothing about cryptocurrency, they look the most knowledgeable based on the business they operate.

This forum remains very educational.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reflections on Responsible Gambling. Insights from the Community on: May 31, 2024, 02:36:03 PM
  • Have you become a more financially literate and socially conscious gambler?
Due to the many stories about irresponsible gambling and gambling addiction, I have developed a strong sense of consciousness towards it, and I do not want to end up as a problem gambler for myself and my family.

  • What small actions have you taken to combat underage gambling in your locality or online?
My actions are not so big but can be effective because I have spoken to other gamblers my age who I know have children growing up under their care. There is a need to keep a proper eye on your children, making sure not to gamble in front of them, and also monitor their activities online so that these children do not start gambling online without your knowledge.

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Failed crypto project will promote bitcoin more on: May 30, 2024, 03:15:19 PM
What OP said would have been totally true assuming when projects fail, new ones don't emanate. If it happens so, it will mean that for each failed project, the participants will return to bitcoin until the very last project. But this is different from the reality. In reality, as many projects are failing, more are being launched and this enable people to jump from the one that has failed today to the one that will fail tomorrow and the cycle continues.
Someone who recently invested in a failed project will be so devastated that they may not want to invest again in cryptocurrency generally. Those who want to continue and really find out why they lost that investment will ask the right questions about the best cryptocurrency to invest in; bitcoins will always be mentioned, and if the person they ask has another opinion, bitcoins will still be mentioned in comparison, so they will somehow get to know about bitcoins. I believe this is what the OP is trying to express.

It is rare to see someone who just lost a lot of money to a failed crypto project in a hurry to invest again without better knowledge.

7  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Repeated Verification Code Issues with Kucoin Withdrawals on: May 30, 2024, 10:13:41 AM
- delay in receiving verification code on you mobile number

Solution to it

- Just use the google authentication app.
I am a day late to this thread, but I feel my input will still be helpful to someone, as I use Kucoin often.

If there is a delay in receiving a verification code to your mobile number, it may also be a result of a problem with your service provider. Sometimes service providers like MTN delay in sending verification code. I use MTN and encountered the same challenges before I started my emails instead for receiving verification codes, and I have not had any problems since.

The Google Authenticator app provides an extra layer of security for me.

So on my Kucoin, before a transaction will be sent, I have to input my trading password, the OTP sent to my mail, and the OTP from my authenticator app.

8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Pool | Euro 2024 ⚽ Discussion Thread on: May 30, 2024, 07:20:50 AM
Nuh-uh, I'm sitting this one out. No free money for you from me Smiley
My chances of winning are not much better when there are so many more experienced people in the pool than myself, but it has not scared me away.

One of my life's mottos is, How do I expect to become the best if I don't practice with the best??

@NotATether, even with Trofo in it, the pool may be yours to win, but if you do not try, you will never know.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Rise of Autonomous Car Racing on: May 28, 2024, 10:35:18 PM
also, I feel like you are not actually placing wagers where the competitors are machines, you are still placing wagers on the human who programmed the AI.
From the article that stompix posted, the fun in actual F1 racing for some people who are fans of it are the individuals who are behind the steering wheel; it provides some idea on who to bet on, but with this autonomous car racing, outcomes from bets will be more random and harder than usual to predict, and that will scare some gamblers away. It will be more fun to know the identity of the developers, and it will give an angle to wager on their programming skills.

10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy on: May 28, 2024, 11:47:04 AM
This thread will serve as a temporary home for Fantasy Euro 2024
I love it!

What do you think if the entry fee is 2 mbtc?
Many of us here already will not mind the entry fee, but if we want to attract more people to join in the pool, then we need to consider this
the ongoing signature campaign bloodbath.
and put them in perspective. 1.5 mBTC sounds appropriate.

Aside from Palmer who do you guys have on your Euros Watchlist?
Many players from England have had a good season and will be entering this competition in very good form. The only challenge for them will be playing time because there will be lots of team rotation. Phil Foden was Manchester City's best player from the just-concluded season; Palmer was the best for Chelsea; Saka also had a good season; and Harry Kane as well. But among them all, the player with the most certainty of playing in more games will be Harry Kane, because he remains England's most valuable player.
11  Economy / Gambling / Re: Q01 - What's your favourite casino and what makes this casino best one? :) on: May 28, 2024, 10:47:48 AM
If you need a good UI, fast withdrawal and good customer support, you can go for https://livecasino.io.
I have used Livecasino, and I can confirm the good reviews; likewise, Metawin web3 casino.
I had a chance to use and review them while promoting them here in this forum, and I can recommend them to anyone too.

I use Livecasino.io for casinos games while I use Stake.com for sport bets.
CoinRoyale.com has both casino games and sportsbet options for gamblers to choose from, they are also a very good casino.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer getting a loan for a startup or getting an investor? on: May 27, 2024, 11:27:42 AM
If you have a well thought out business idea but don't have the needed capital to keep it functional, is getting a loan the best option or looking for interested investors?
To get a loan, you need to have some kind of collateral that has some value for you to get a proper loan, and not every individual intending to start a business has that. But If it an investor, they can invest in you if they see your business plan as viable even without you having anything to give them yet.

An investor who you promise business returns periodically is a better choice than a bank loan.

On the other side of things if you intend to have a business where you are the sole owner who makes all the decisions without interference, a bank loan will be a better option because someone invests in your business means they have bought a share of your stock and to an extent they have an opinion in a decision making of your business. You will be lucky if you can get an investor who is not interested in poke nosing into the business, someone who is only interested in the profit you have promised them.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Influencer Fight Club 2 on: May 27, 2024, 10:28:57 AM
Wow this is real? Theres even betting site for them already. This is quite a fun event,
There is no fun in this for me, because these two fighters are not professionals, and if I decide to start betting on every event, especially this sort of event where the two unprofessional fighters work to beat themselves up for the fun of others seems like a high level of addiction to me because I'm quite empathetic.

If the two influencers have problems with themselves and hate themselves online, there are better ways for them to settle it than through a boxing fight where they both get hurt.

This should not be celebrated, it is medieval.
14  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Make people no dey conclude for waiting them no know about on: May 26, 2024, 08:54:58 PM
With the way scammer they now must people no dey like carry there ear take hear Bitcoin because them dey fill say na scam, I come dey wonder say waiting you know never do before because person tell you say na scam and you now come carry am for heard say na scam, and you no even know how the thing dey ooh, e no good like that,
Sometimes people believe all this people blindly because they see them as mentors and people that know more than them so whenever they say something, people fail to double check. We are the point in history where every information you get can be verified easily from the internet, you'll be doing yourself a lot of harm if you take people's opinion simply like that without verifying yourself.

No matter someone's status, never take their opinions without confirming it yourself with the facts.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Benefits from the forum. on: May 26, 2024, 08:43:30 PM

There are a lot of benefits that are here in this forum and they are as follow.
Coupled with the general benefits that this forum has to offer there are some individual benefits that we get from being members of this forum.

My biggest benefit being in his forum is the community engagement. There are times that I would have gotten discouraged from investing in bitcoins, but because I am in this forum, it helps me to stay encouraged. This must be the same with another person.

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exposure to bitcoin at young age on: May 26, 2024, 05:03:53 PM
Kids aged 8 and above should be taught about bitcoin. In their curriculum, it should include things like the history, crypto exchanges, wallets, security, regulation.
Which curriculum are you making reference to? Is it the school's curriculum?
As a parent and guardian you do not need to wait for the school to include these subjects and topics in their curriculum before you start educating your child on it. Personally some teachers will not even have proper information about Bitcoin and investment in it, but by being a member of the forum and having long knowledge about bitcoins, you are in a better position to educate your children slowly and not forcefully.

Do not stop your child from being a kid and playing when you're supposed to just because you want to teach them about Bitcoin and investment. Teach them about Bitcoin and investment in a very comfortable manner and take your time so they have a good understanding.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder Vs Zhilei Zhang JUNE 1 Heavyweight on: May 26, 2024, 04:01:17 PM
This should be a great fight for both, I'm sure we will see another exciting fight as Wilder tries to come back, but unfortunately he doesn't have the ability to last in the fight, so he needs to be more aggressive, hit a good shot and  knockout Zhilei Zhang in the early rounds.
Wilder has a higher chance to KO Zhang if he starts the fight very aggressively and not be too afraid to take on Zhang, his strategy to digress from his normal aggressive fighting style in the made him loose his last fight to Parker, it will be a mistake to do that again. Zhang has a good KO record too, his strategy in this fight will be to strategically plan to place the right punches whenever Wilder gives him the opportunity Wilder has to make sure his punches do enough damage to Zhang. Maybe one fighter will KO the other, but It will not be in the first three rounds.

I want Wilder to win, I want his career to continue a bit more because if loses this fight, it could be the end for him.
19  Economy / Gambling / Re: Wazamba & 22Bet.com refusing to pay on: May 26, 2024, 03:26:24 PM
If you are a forum member, I suggest you play at a casino that is reputable on the forum.
The forum has provided the opportunity for forum members to not just get easily scammed by playing in dubious casinos because there are many options of reputable casinos to choose from in the forum. The only people who should be having this kind of issue are people who are outside the forum not we that are forum members.

@OP, Sorry about the situation you have found yourself in and I like to say to you that if you are not a member of this forum yet, maybe this should be a good reason for you to join so that you do not fall prey to any predator casino again in the future .

20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you do TA on alt coins? I do it on BTC and trade market sentiment on alts. on: May 26, 2024, 03:11:14 PM
Doing TA with altcoins is not good especially if they are very new altcoins or with low trading volume.
New altcoins will not have any historic data to look back on, so TA may not work accurately, but that does not mean that you should ignore it completely and use your TA from studying BTC movement to predict the movement of the altcoin.

If you suggest focusing on only BTC price movement to make predictions for the altcoin, it is almost the same as saying someone should focus on only technical analysis and not pay any attention to fundamental analysis, but in doing so, accuracy of analysis is reduced.
