Long time no update, I hope this one brings a lot to the table then Smiley
3842  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BIOS Mod R9 380? Why so difficult on: September 29, 2017, 06:45:55 AM
My Sapphire R9 380 mines dual expanse/sia at 22MH/s for EXP and 220MH/s SIA, at 980/1550 clocks

I would stay away from the RX560's for XMR. You can find old 280X for $100 or less and with your cheap power you can get ROI for a rig with 6 cards.
They hash stock at about 550.

If/when Claymore optimize kernels for baffin too, RX560s will probably beat 500H/s, with very low power (in 30-40W per card range)
3844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 4GB Ethereum on: September 28, 2017, 10:29:38 PM
It can't...and don't believe everything you read on the net Smiley
3845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 4GB Ethereum on: September 28, 2017, 05:11:27 PM
With all this talk about the Vega 56 accepting an Vega 64 bios, I was wondering the same thing with the RX 560. Anyone ever try flashing a 570 or 580 bios in there?

No

If you have to compare it, the most similar situation would be unlocking RX460 into RX560

You can also flash rx470 to rx570 and rx480 to rx580, and thats it
3846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 hashrates on: September 28, 2017, 02:13:20 PM

why i never know in advance ? do you mean unlocking shader mod is not applicable at all cards or don't you know how to do it properly ?

Not all rx460 can be unlocked...or at least thats what I read on forums, so far all that I tried succeeded, although that wasn't too many of them

maybe people just didn't know how to do it
3847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 hashrates on: September 28, 2017, 02:03:27 PM
Hey Brako .. first of all thanks for your contribution to the community you doing awesome job here.

I have a request,im thinking about buying XFX RX 460 Double Dissipation OC 4GB Cards ..

can you unlock shaders to 1024 and apply your mining mod to them ? i can pay you 0.1 ETH for that.

thanks in advance.

mod yes...unlocking...you never know in advance

Yesterday did it for another forum user, exactly xfx 460 with micron memory, he got
15.x with dual mining...which sounds very good for card even weaker than rx560
3848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 4GB Ethereum on: September 28, 2017, 09:27:48 AM

damn, both times NO. where is the patcher?

btw.
I did modify the bios on some RX 580 and that worked without patching drivers and saved bios from GPU-Z, so I thought that must be something different not working on my side

Patcher:
https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher

Up to the certain AMD driver there was no need to patch drivers (about 1y or so ago, I think)

GPU-Z is not 100% bad, its just random if it'll mess up saving BIOS...its usually when
you save bios and its size is 512KB instead normal 256KB size
3849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 hashrates on: September 28, 2017, 09:24:03 AM
Hey, nobody knows about the consumption?

I don't have any clear numbers right now outside of the fact that is well below 100...I'll be looking at it in the coming days and post some info when I have it

About 95W at that extreme 1300/2250 overclock, about 65W with 1100/2250 and 900mV core, but
keep in mind I have inefficient bronze rated PSU...some gold or platinum one would probably draw less

That is single coin, dual mining adds around 20W

Overall, not that good compared to Nvidia 1060, but I didn't play with voltages much, maybe that will
be next stage for me Smiley
3850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Powersave BIOS for Sapphire RX470 Nitro (non+) 4gb? on: September 28, 2017, 09:03:10 AM
Thank you for your answer Smiley
But ive got 9 gpus. It isnt possible to use 9 gpus in windows. Is there a version for linux? Is it possible now in claymore for linux (like ubuntu) to use -cvddc, -mvccd, -clock and -mclock ?
Is the last Blockchain AMD Driver out for Linux?

I don't think the Blockchain driver is out for Linux, but tbh I've seen many miners migrating to Windows just because of this issue.

wget -qO - http://repo.radeon.com/rocm/apt/debian/rocm.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo sh -c 'echo deb [arch=amd64] http://repo.radeon.com/rocm/apt/debian/ xenial main > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/rocm.list'
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install rocm

#edit grub
sudo nano  /etc/default/grub
#2MB fragments for Ellesmere are enabled with a grub option:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="amdgpu.vm_fragment_size=9"

sudo update-grub
sudo reboot

choose new Kernel and its done!

Thx to gstoner from ROCm Github.

(this is from post I found on net, don't have linux rig to try personally)
3851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 4GB Ethereum on: September 28, 2017, 08:55:41 AM
hi,

maybe someone has an idea what's wrong.

I have the "Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 560 4GD5, 4GB GDDR5, DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, lite retail (11267-00-20G)"
it came with Micron memory. I saved bios and tried with any BIOS editor I found to copy the 1625 or 1750 strap to the later ones.

the problem is:
after flashing the card is no longer detected by miner (claymore, sgminer), also after re-install of drivers. in atiflash the card is shown as polaris 11 and not RX 560, like it was before and after re-flashing of the original/unmodiefied bios. in gpu-z it also shows different then before.

also the miners crash with beta blockchain aug23, 17.6.2 is working ok. OS is win7 x64

If needed I upload the bios.
actually it's doing dual eth/dcr (dcri 45) on dag8 with 11,3/500, only had to +20% PT in TRIXX 6.5

any thoughts how to tune memory?

Hopefully you saved it with ati flasher and not gpu-z?
You patched drivers after flashing card?

Hi guys, it is me! https://twitter.com/zachherbert/status/913034849216339969

Hi guys! Zach here, I'm VP of Ops for Sia. We don't spend too much time on bitcointalk, since most of the discussion takes place in our Discord or subreddit. But I'll try to monitor bitcointalk closely for the next day or so, and answer any question that you may have.

Any news about last bounty, is it going well?

The bounty for Duplicati is going really well. It's complete, and has been tested. We will be announcing shortly and paying out the reward. Duplicati has already merged it into their upstream code.

Bounty for Minio (https://blog.sia.tech/introducing-s3-style-file-sharing-for-sia-through-the-new-minio-integration-bb880af2366a) is functioning, but the submitter is working through some final requirements in order to merge into their upstream code.

Great news...I better go buy some SIA while its still cheap Smiley

I have question about Obelisk...where from will buyers in EU get their ASICs from?
Because if its sent outside of EU, we have to pay lots of customs and taxes

I have a power color 560 with hynix memory and is only getting 12.4 MHS with 1750 strap and memory at 2050.
Does anyone else have any experience with those cards? What is the best I can get. It does not have another power connector just the riser.

Probably about 14MH/s...I'd really like to see if any manufacturer put real 7GHz memory instead 6GHz on Hynix versions of RX560s,
but seems no brave enough people to remove coolers and take pictures...I'd really like to make BIOS for real 7GHz part

Tell me what you need, I can do it this weekend.
Also, what bios are u using to get 14. Just 1500 strap or something custom.

Also according to the specs it is 7000.

https://ibb.co/iqD6eQ

My Gigabyte is 7GHz too...but that just means its already factory overclocked

If you look at this picture

you can see R0C marking...thats 6GHz part, R2C is 7GHz, and R4C is 8GHz...I guess theres shortage of memory chips

You can check for yourself here:

whats the best you can do to a xfx 560 micron single fan?

About 14.8 if card doesn't have additional power connector, 15.5 if it has it.
Everything above 15.5 is just question of cooling memory...gigabyte has advantage that
metal part of cooler covers memory chips too...I don't know about any other card like that, but
if it exists, it should be able to reach 16MH/s too

3857  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 4GB Ethereum on: September 26, 2017, 06:14:07 PM

Ah ok, yeah Dual mining tends to perform better on most 560's for some reason, haha... but you already are. Not sure why you aren't hitting atleast 14.5MH honestly.

And reason is that people don't use -dcri when single mining, and they should

I read somewhere you released a bios for 16+mh? link? or how much?

Its very specific BIOS...just for Gigabyte RX560 with micron memory and dual fans

What do you mean? Isn't it your website?
Well... that's fun. I was really ready to start calling names here, good thing I didn't:)

Its not...I just posted a link because I got bored seeing same question asked over and over again
3860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: End goal - amass ETH. Better mine Monero & exchange for ETH? GPU mining on: September 25, 2017, 06:45:22 AM
Hi.  I'd like to earn more ETH.  As it is, ETH mining, at 300 MH/s takes me about a month to earn 1.  Is there another currency, e.g. Monero, that I can mine, and with the same time 1 month period, mine enough Monero to echange more than 1 ETH?

I will mostly be using RX 580s, and GTX 1070s.

Hope to hear your thoughts.

If not Monero, maybe another coin.
