1441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: March 26, 2022, 09:42:01 PM
Portugal must be completely aware of the threat in front of them now. This threat is North Macedonia and I'm still surprised to say this now. North Macedonia did the unexpected and moved Italy out of the World Cup completely. And Portugal really need to be careful against them. Even if they underestimate their opponent a little, they might be punished by North Macedonia just as it happened against Italy. Portugal must get very well-prepared for this game as a result not to come across this.
What you've mentioned is said by the Portugal coach Fernando Santos. We should respect North Macedonia same as that we did with Italy. Before the match it was discussed that we're going to play the final. In this match we should have the same feeling and Portugal have reached closer to the World Cup after much of struggle. North Macedonia on the other side will give the best.
1442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Meet Bitcoin Embassy Bar, a Bitcoin themed bar in Mexico on: March 26, 2022, 09:24:43 PM
No doubt that this is pretty much unique, the idea of having a bar with people to talk about cryptocurrency and such. Given that it is a bar and a BTC-themed one, I do think that people would treat this as a spot in Mexico that Bitcoin enthusiasts should try out, and even meet new people!
Unique idea and this lets people have better idea sharing their views about cryptocurrency. Another thing is the events. When one hear the talks of experts, it helps one understand better if he/she is new to cryptocurrency. Such themed services need to get established around the world. Mexico seems to be a crypto friendly country, because even for such a theme governments might levy tax as well as give warnings.
1443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is going to be bad for the Indian Bitcoin community on: March 26, 2022, 06:32:27 PM
This is an expected one, because the ruling government have never participated in any of the interview to give their clear view on cryptocurrency usage. Once bill is passed in the parliament, they won't think of common public. The opposition party requested clarity on the law. For this, finance minister have an explanation stating we're into discussion and the plan is whether to continue if or not.
1444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 25, 2022, 11:59:51 PM
^^^ To be honest, I don't think test cricket is going to get back its popularity anymore. yes obviously experiments can be done but I really doubt that people are going to be interested in test cricket again after watching T20 action.
Once after the existence of T20 format cricket people doesn't watch test format cricket much, but everyone used to keep track of the scores. This is a way through which the time being spend is reduced, but not the interest on test cricket.

Test cricket is just too old-fashioned. and the new kid in town(T20) is stealing the show. I really think the draw system in Test cricket should be withdrawn but I don't know how it can be done.
The new kid is not old fashioned. Everyone doesn't have time to watch as if people of 90's watch cricket. In the fast moving World the time is a major constraint. For that purpose T20 format evolved and it has changed the cricketing industry. Another thing will you say to withdraw the draw system in a football match. It has got its own rules.
1445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Around The World on: March 25, 2022, 11:49:23 PM
It is evident that the moving force in cryptocurrency as a whole is unstoppable, the rate at which it users increases across the nooks and crannies of the globe really worth it, while my joy is seeing the massive adoption starting right from regions it was first rejected and place on ban, now the enlightenment about bitcoin broadened the scope of limiting factors to it acceptability. Bitcoin the best ever first decentralized digital currency.
Yes, this is common to experience around the world. Most of the countries that were opposing the usage of cryptocurrencies and made a ban is now getting used to cryptocurrencies. Same is with the popular people around the world. Recently Peter Thiel, Co-founder of PayPal said getting too late and too little into bitcoin is the biggest mistake he did in this decade. So, it takes time for people to realise and when we realise it looks like an opportunity missed forever.
1446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chess online? on: March 25, 2022, 11:39:13 PM
Human beings did create AI but we know that there are things which cant be beaten up by human brain which it could really be superior on which people do really able to have a hard time on handling it out.
It do really keeps better and better as years passing by and continue to develop(well its a broad topic in regarding with AI).
As for Chess online then there are sites but hindrance on minding about whose your opponent would be always there whether its a bot or an actual person.
So far we arent seeing any platforms do adopts this one.

People have not yet created anything even close to AI. Those AIs that now dominate chess, image recognition, sound recognition, etc. are neural networks i.e. actually large matrices of numbers. There is no consciousness or intelligence here, but only the result of processing large amounts of information.
Agreed, the real play will be against the AI. Large amount of information processing makes the Chess game more of game that doesn't have preset moves. Only after processing the information the move happens. This can be checked, for the same move we do it'll move different coins in different matches. Things could change with time, but incorporating AI is something big it seems.
1447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Russia May Accept Bitcoin for Gas Exports, Lawmaker Says" on: March 25, 2022, 03:28:44 PM
Russia sells gas for foreign currency. The Ministry of Finance will oblige Russian exporters to sell 80% of foreign exchange earnings
Read more on RBC:
https://www.rbc.ru/politics/28/02/2022/621c7d2b9a79474bff316771

Now Russia will sell gas for rubles. Firstly, this law is not for all companies. Secondly, if this happens, then foreign companies will buy the ruble on the Russian stock exchange and pay them for gas. The Russian currency exchange will earn more commissions.

The dollar will still remain the world's largest reserve currency, there is more politics here than economics.
Putin gave order to Russia’s central bank and gas suppliers like Gazprom one week to implement the change. Earlier 58% of Gazprom gas sales were in euro and about 39% were in US dollars. Right now it is all about the plan of Putin to recover the fallen ruble and come out of sanctions. As said there is big politics than economis which comes from a long back history.

Right now 40% of the European countries oil and gas import is from Russia. To pay in Rubles, countries need to buy rubles from somewhere. Even it can be from the Russia's Central Bank. To make the transaction it is also required to take away the sanctions. Now the sufferers will be both Russia and non friendly countries.
1448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Hoard Bitcoin? on: March 25, 2022, 01:09:03 PM
Also, not everyone is sold on the BTC as a currency concept; some people just look at it as a decentralized asset like a digital version of gold.

I have a strong feeling many governments will do their best to keep bitcoin from being the primary medium of exchange. Their efforts will be in the name of their future CBDC. They can't have a successful digital currency when bitcoin and its LN is processing the majority of the transactions.
Almost every country have got their teams creating CBDC. When it comes to CBDC, governments can control each and every activity happening within the network. The same isn't possible with bitcoin. Some countries prioritise bitcoin as reserve, but never intend to consider it a transaction asset. There were few CBDC projects in which few countries have got involved to make a common platform for cross border transaction between those countries. Another important reason for CBDC is to make taxation easier.

I think that bitcoin remains a strong store of value for the foreseeable future. However, I am not sure how long it will take for the 'medium of exchange' use case to truly take hold.
Bitcoin have got multiple usage access and the same makes it more of an investment and store of value than a medium of exchange. Even the common people aren't much into using it as a medium of exchange. The priority is for long term profiting.
1449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto.com as Sponsor's for FIFA World Cup on: March 24, 2022, 07:55:13 PM
If I'm not wrong Crypto.com seems to be in cryptocurrency related service for a long time. Crypto.com is previously Monaco listed on coinmarketcap. Based on the data from Wikipedia crypto.com is into cryptocurrency related business since 2016 and based in Singapore with an active 3000 employees.

Even before the official sponsorship for FIFA, Crypto.com have notable sponsorship deals with Formula One, the Serie A, the UFC, Paris Saint-Germain F.C., the Philadelphia 76ers, the Montreal Canadiens.
1450  Other / Archival / Re: What is holding back the price of bitcoin now? on: March 24, 2022, 03:56:34 AM
Since 2021 there is good volume of bitcoin being accumulated. Around the range of $20k institutional investors like MicroStrategy, block, made big accumulation even earlier. Those volumes were still under the accumulation status. Those outflown bitcoin being under the status of hold until now there is parabolic curve formation. Similar parabolic curve formation took place when the price of bitcoin was around $8000. By then there happened bitcoin reaching its ATH. For now this can be a beginning point for a new ATH in comparison to the previous similar incident.

For now it is the institutional investors, small scale investors and the ongoing acceptance and increasing usage is the one that holding back the price.
1451  Economy / Economics / Re: India's 30% tax on income from digital asset on: March 24, 2022, 02:24:31 AM
Just an update on this bill:

The Finance Bill 2022, which includes proposals for the taxation on income from digital assets, is scheduled to be passed today (6PM onwards - India time). From articles I've read, no major changes to the bill is expected and this could be approved by the end of the day.

You can find the schedule here (change date to March 24).
Nothing going to change, maybe they'll add some statements of blockchain and it's increasing usage. This time the government will try to connect each and every form of tax increase with the oil price. The price that hasn't increased for a long have begun to increase after five state election results. Everything within the country is planned in a way to support the government, so 30% taxation on capital gains will continue or else it'll change to 28%
1452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Afghans turn to cryptocurrencies amid US sanctions on: March 24, 2022, 01:43:19 AM
Whether it is an Afghan, or an American everyone is a human being. This means everyone have the right to make use of bitcoin. This is how it has been developed. Maybe the cause for which the same is being used may differ with people. Already the people are suffering out of different economic and state issues. By the time getting a solution could give some relaxation. Just with the term bitcoin is being used to fund Taliban, the common People's usage shouldn't be restricted.
1453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Largest Slots Win in Washington State History on: March 22, 2022, 11:59:16 PM
^ $5 per bet will hurt your pocket once you did not hit the multiplier for how many wagers, it needs a huge capital before you probably hit the jackpot if you are very lucky. I believed that there is a very lucky person and I witnessed in my two eyes when my friend gambled on the offline casino, the same story by the OP, that is a very lucky story when you will hit the jackpot because it has surely a big prize.
Sounds interesting how I wish I also win on this kind of game but unfortunately I am not.
Only the luckiest will be able to win such jackpot. Maybe your friend is one among the luckiest list. For Whale gamblers $5 spin won't be a big thing, but for common gamblers who look for mere earning this will be big and in no time could get emptied. From OP it looks like the winner is a self employed painter, which means he makes an average earning and nothing big. On contrary to that already he had won $20k from the same casino which shows he's a regular player. Anyhow for his long/short term risk he had profited through his girlfriend's words.
1454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Around The World on: March 22, 2022, 11:38:25 PM
The cryptocurrency users around the world can't be calculated precisely. It is an approximation, because it is possible to create any number of wallets. This means based on the wallets created we can't calculate the number.

Source : Statista
It is 2021-2022 that have got the increase in the user number. This could've happened as a result of the pandemic that made people within the home and look for opportunities on the internet. Majority have landed into cryptocurrency by the time.
1455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Assumptions of People who don't know about bitcoin... Ki on: March 22, 2022, 11:26:23 PM
People have difference of understanding about cryptocurrency. Recently met with a brother who is working in Canada and on discussion about investment I said about cryptocurrency. Immediately he said why should you go for it when you've got more other choice. It shocked me, because I've thinking that people from USA and Canada are much adopted to cryptocurrency. This was against that and further he added about a life incident. His friend lost $100k investing in cryptocurrency and I wasn't able to understand how it happened. Even if he have invested in any worst project it'll not be such a loss. From that incident he doesn't look into cryptocurrency. From this I understood, someone's mistake will also create a bad opinion on cryptocurrency.

''Maria Sakkari beat defending champion Paula Badosa to reach the biggest final of her career at Indian Wells.''
''Greece's Sakkari, who had previously won just two of her past 14 semi-finals, broke down in tears after overcoming the Spaniard 6-2 4-6 6-1.''
''"I'm turning 27 this year, which is not old, but not young as well, and I'm just more mature and things change in that age," Sakkari said.''

It seems that some players need a lot more time to mature and start achieving great results.
I'm glad for her, she deserved this success.
It seemed to me that Simona Halep had a good chance to reach the finals, but Swiatek still won in an uncertain match.
Swiatek is the obvious favorite in the final but surprises are always possible.
What do you think?

Maria Sakkari deserve the win, and tomorrow's final is going to be a big day for her. Being an young player Świątek will be tough one to play. As said surprises could happen, and I expect this to be a hard fight. Even the odds are on the side of Świątek @1.50 and Sakkari @2.70 and this can vary when surprise happens on the match. Lets see what's going to happen tomorrow.
1457  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teachers deserve more on: March 18, 2022, 10:16:42 AM
Teachers are the one to help students achieve every milestone of the student and drives to success. From the very beginning of school days they are the one who spends majority of time with us constructing and moulding us in spiritual, scientific and moral values.

They are the one who know more about the growing child than parents because they spent more time with kids.Teaching is the only profession in which they have the capability making an efficient person to the society, because they understand his/her inborn skills and make them good on the same than compelling to concentrate on some other trade.

We've got more 8 years for 2030. The market can grow in any direction and it should grow in same percentage as bitcoin have grown since 2008. There is more possible chances, but anything beyond certain limits could make it under valued. With Bitcoin more good news in terms of adoption, regulation and real time acceptance is happening from countries and firms that once stood against bitcoin and kept it on the ban list.
