1161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Pros and Cons of Bitcoin Gambling on: June 11, 2022, 11:53:29 PM
I don't know what other people think, but for me, I think Bitcoin is the best thing that has ever happened to the gambling industry, it doesn't matter how many the disadvantages are, what really matter is that the advantages are far more than the disadvantages.
Without bitcoin, somebody like me will never go into gambling because I hate the stress of trying to deposit fiat into my account with my debit or credit card, and also the stress one goes through during withdrawal most especially, if it is an international transaction, the fees banks charge are also nothing to write home about.
So morning, day or night, I still prefer gambling with my bitcoin than fiat.

Gambling industry is one of the earliest applications of bitcoin.
I came to know bitcoin and other alts, because of gambling sites like primedice and freebitco.
So I can say, I am grateful to these online casinos that open doors for me in knowing more about crypto.
There will always be pros and cons, and it is up to you how you will use it to your advantage.
Just like you, we don't need to use fiat in order to use a gambling site. If you have crypto, you have your convenience to do so.
You can also trade your btc to other alts, if you don't want to use btc. Really up to your preferences here.
But if you will be using your fiat, high likely that the site will ask your credentials especially if you will be using a credit card.

Yes, gambling is one of the industry that started to use bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies understanding the usage of it. Compared to the traditional gambling platforms, the cryptocurrency accepted platforms give the ease of gambling without much difficulties being faced in terms of placing bets and transaction limits.

If gambling platforms haven't used cryptocurrencies during the beginning days, then the cryptocurrency market might've never been this big as now. The usage let users understand and kept the circulation of the market. Even there is a bad impression over cryptocurrency due to its increased usage on gambling, but in reality gambling industry have contributed good to the growth of cryptocurrencies as a whole.
1162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price and actions to raise it on: June 11, 2022, 11:48:11 PM
I think that the problem is people who do not understand that Bitcoin never was and never will be in the hands of the government. Their regulations are a farce meant to scare the common person into following orders. The more people finally understand this, the bigger global Bitcoin adoption becomes.

It's a simple matter of time. Sooner or later the government will lose control of money, especially the manipulation of the value of money. That's decentralized freedom.
I agree that government is not really "controlling" bitcoin, they are just controlling what you can do with it and how you can use it which is still a problem. If a country bans ownership of crypto all together, they are not controlling crypto like that, but at the end we are talking about them not allowing you to have anything and you would be doing something illegal if you owned any.

Not really seeing any much improvement about it at all. I have to say that there is a good case to be made about that control being even worse than directly controlling it, because there is something out there which people use if they are from another nation, and you would be committing a crime if you did.

Right now, what the government can do when it comes to crypto transactions is to limit its use by implementing laws about its usage and how to implement tax when it comes to crypto holdings. But other things happening, they don't have the control as you can easily transact without letting your government know about it. This is why some politicians are against with it because they are blind in some parts of this market. But sooner or later, the governments will just accept the fact that people will be going to this market even without their knowledge. So why not take advantage of this market like getting tax from crypto-related businesses?
Limiting the transaction through different laws isn't gonna profit the government in any means. There are some politicians against it, whereas some are using its pseudonym feature as the way to receive the bribe easier and in a much better way. Every country have been making plans of taxation over cryptocurrency related businesses, but how this can be made effective functioning isn't known and they're struggling to find a solution.
1163  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason why I put all my money in Bitcoin as a newbie on: June 11, 2022, 11:04:57 PM
Market's fluctuations are unpredictable and thus in crypto, you can not trust any coin to fully get invested on. But yes, you can confidently invest on best coins like, BITCOIN, ETH, BNB and etc splitting a concerned percentage you wish but not to the whole on one coin. What if market is not fare to Bitcoin and is on ETH. So invest 50% on a coin which has high trading volume and where you trust on and invest another 25% on another top coin following Bitcoin. Keep the remaining 25% to average if some unexpected moves are observed.

I think it is safer to invest in Bitcoin alone than make a diversion with another cryptocurrency.  Why?  because it is more likely that altcoin will crash than bitcoin.  If you want to divert the investment then divert it to other ventures outside cryptocurrency.  I think Bitcoin is enough for a long-term investment when it comes to cryptocurrency.  Trading altcoins is another story though.

If the user have got the patience to hold, then it is good choice investing on bitcoin. It looks like the price will crash even lower. When we plan for an investment, it is a must to enter at the lowest possible price. Maybe now we need to wait for the moment, because buying at the bottom will lower the time period required to book the profit. Diversification is good, but at this moment altcoins too are in red following the movement of bitcoin.
1164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: taking out a loan for a sports bet on: June 11, 2022, 10:41:44 PM
recently I've come across some information for an upcoming soccer match and I'd like to place a big bet of 50-100k, how easy would it be for me to take out a loan and how long would it take? has anyone else done something like this?

I will tell you that you are not the only one in this ship. It is possible that people who are willing to take out a loan to bet on a game view it more of like an investment rather than "gambling". It is a good thing you have asked this question, it shows you are smart and willing to do thorough a research before making the move. If you decide to go through with your decision, kindly avoid loan sharks. They'll loan you the money without any collateral but will go to any length to get it back if you default.

A very high risk, I won't risk any of my properties on this. When you ask for a loan, of course, there is high collateral and the value of that collateral considering a low value to the lender. I don't know how sure I am with my prediction in sports betting, probably a chance to take that risk will probably be a small percentage when I am sure that who is the winner of the betting match but if not, I won't take that high risk.
It will become a double edge sword once you lose in gambling.
Yess, depending on the value of loan will be the requirement of collateral to be submitted. What OP have requested and has planned is a big number and this requires a much valuable collateral. This bet can be made out of loan if the user have got the backing to clear the loan even if the bet didn't win.
1165  Economy / Economics / Re: Trouble in paradise for India? on: June 11, 2022, 10:36:30 PM
Well India is going to have more problems soon, if they keep on undermining western sanctions, by buying Russian Oil and then refining it and selling it back to European nations.  Roll Eyes  The US President has already warned them that there will be consequences for their actions, but they are simply ignoring it.

India’s external debt was US$ 570 billion at the end of March 2021. It recorded an increase of US$ 11.6 billion over its level at end of March 2020. The external debt to GDP ratio increased to 21.1% at end of March 2021 from 20.6% an year ago. Source : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/External_debt_of_India   (What happens when that faucet is closed)  Roll Eyes
USA will try to be hard over India, but it won't be making any big impact. We need to keep USA at the position of India and think, surely USA will try to make the best profit out of this process. Even after buying oil at a much lower price there is a no big change in the fuel price of India. USA will try to give some pressure, beyond certain point India will strike back. Now beyond this India is facing a serious problem that have arisen out of the speech from ruling party spokesperson. This is gonna make India down.
1166  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin drops to $8k on: June 10, 2022, 11:56:41 PM
This is impossible. Bitcoin can NEVER hit the $8000 mark
Do you have an idea how many investors who will buy bitcoin at that price? Investors who are willing to invest money that they can afford to loose are plenty. The rate of buy will be so much that it will push the value of Bitcoin up again to a considerably high amount. This will lead to inflation.
Bitcoin awareness is just too huge to ignored.
With cryptocurrency we can't get into any conclusion about the market. Just think of the previous bull market that took the price down to the region of $3000. By the time none were about the price dropping down to $5k, but it all happened in a slow manner from the ath value close to $20k. Just because there is good awareness we can't say the market won't drop, the market is independent and it can move in any direction.
1167  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Watford Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: June 10, 2022, 11:26:04 PM

If I'm not mistaken Stake.com spends £10 million a year to sponsor Everton. This is the biggest fund that is quite commensurate if Everton can perform well next season. To that end, this partnership will determine whether adoption will come from fans to bet on their favorite team. Ideal output for Stake.com.

That's almost 2x higher than stake contract with Watford indeed it is still worth it when compared to the estimated salary of Everton players with Warford
If we look at the value of this contract , we can guess the total stake income is each year it should be 10x more than the contract value Grin
By the way OP forgot to edit the title of this thread
More the effort taken have given visibility to Stake. It looks like Stake have got plans of making contract/making brand ambassadors at specific time interval. Unlike other platforms it keeps adding more popular faces and the same has brought big market and profit to Stake. In two months time Stake celebrate its 5th Birthday. Stake can share a small part of its profit with the gamblers  Wink Wink Wink
1168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: June 10, 2022, 10:55:32 PM

This is no disappointment for me. West Indies is a team that perform in unexpectedly. When we think of making a big chase or making a big score as target the team under perform. In the first match none could've thought of 300+ score. In this ODI everyone had the same expectancy on play, but they weren't able to do it in a consistent manner.

Considering the past performance of the West Indies team, this is nothing strange. West Indies is not in a good form for the last many years and this performance is no different.
Sometimes they perform well in T20 limited over cricket but they are a complete disaster in ODI and Test cricket.
One fine example is the T20 world cup win during the year 2016. Everyone were expecting different teams, because West Indies lost to Afghanistan which is a new team by then, but finally it managed to win the T20 World Cup. They never have a consistent performance, but makes the opponent confused. However this time Pakistan have taken it more serious and were playing the tournament with more confidence which has brought the win in the first match. Final match will be more interesting, because West Indies will take chance to mark its win.
1169  Economy / Economics / Re: Global bitcoin adoption to hit 10% by 2030: Blockware report on: June 10, 2022, 10:18:12 PM
Bitcoin lost it's main use as cryptocurrency ,when it became a financial instrument for horders ...beside gambling, hording, and speculation ...i don't see main stream shops adopting it ...

Well yeah but in this case we are discussing about bitcoin adoption so it could be in any other form aside from being used as currency. It might sounds weird and lame for now because bitcoin is mainly used as a payment option in gambling site but hey I'll take that for now as long as most average joe out there would use it. I mean it gotta start somewhere so its always an option
Everything needs a start, and until it gets carried forward the circulation shouldn't be let down. The gambling platforms does this and helps with the progress of adoption. If bitcoin wasn't used in gambling and dark market the real time adoption could've taken a fast phase or else it could've gone unused. For now we can see a good awareness among common people about cryptocurrencies, because in the past it is believed as a source used for gambling and dark market.
1170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: June 10, 2022, 09:51:21 PM
Pakistan was able to give a target of 276 runs. Imam Ul Haque and Babar Azam performed well in this match as well as in the first. However, as no middle-order batsman could play a big inning, Pakistan scored only 275 runs in 50 overs. However, 276 runs are not enough to win on such a pitch. Yet Pakistani bowlers are very experienced. Despite the low target, Pakistan has the potential to win this match.
West Indies has lost their 7th wicket just now, and they have scored only 125 runs in 27 overs. Pakistan set a medium target, but West Indies team won't be able to win this game by any means. Mohammad Nawaz has taken 4 wickets already. West Indies players batted very well in the first ten overs. Betting odds were in favour of West Indies at the moment. But everything changed after the fall of second and third wickets. The Windies team has no chance now.

Really a poor and bad performance by the team West Indies. They are bowled out at 155 runs only in 33 overs which shows their poor performance and no plan. Shamarh Brooks scored 42 runs but none other could not play a responsible inning. West Indies have lost this series and congratulations to Team Pakistan on another series win on their home ground.
1171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which crypto will going to explore after this bearish market ends? on: June 08, 2022, 11:59:48 PM
Bitcoin is going to make its growth after the bear movement. Following this will be the growth of altcoins, and some altcoins make bigger growth percentage against bitcoin. Everything happens out of bitcoin, if there is no positive move from bitcoin then altcoins will also serve in a similar way. This time it is predicted that the bear market will last for a much longer time period. Potential new projects will make their entry during this time, because when market turns bullish it'll help with the growth for sure.
1172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB price on: June 07, 2022, 11:53:02 PM
This is cryptocurrencies we are talking about mate
We all know how unstable they can be.
So reaching BNB reaching $1000 may look impossible but, if we were to refer back to BTC which was about $0.0008 for one and today it's more than $30k then I can say that the capabilities of the BNB coin are yet to be discovered.
I don't know how far this is fair to make a comparison against bitcoin. BNB is a potential asset that will surely go high in the long run. BNB reaching $1000 is assured and it is possible. Already BNB have marked its ATH at $690. Right now there were some FUD and nothing to be worried. Binance have got more potential players in its team which too is a big support for its growth. This has evolved as a successful business and making change in the cryptospace.
1173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you spread BTC to people within you on: June 07, 2022, 11:36:35 PM
Considering the starting days of bitcoin, now it have got more ways of promotion and awareness. People started to share the good and bad. This word of mouth spread have helped in market widening. Now with the growth it has attained through its multiple functionality, the spreading and awareness have taken more ways. Recently Binance organised some tour around Africa to create awareness and has partnered with a Malaysian exchange to make people learn about cryptocurrencies. From the low level of individuals to the higher end exchanges does the role of spreading the good about bitcoin.
1174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 07, 2022, 10:44:58 PM

I have been following Nadal since a long time now, and while he’s one of my favourites yet I don’t expect him to win all the grand glams this year because sooner or later he’ll be taking a break due to his existing injuries. Furthermore I feel that he’ll try and prolong his career rather than risk getting badly injured by playing in all the tournaments, and logically speaking I feel that’s the best decision because he should take regular breaks and avoid getting injured.

Nadal himself have mentioned about his participation into the French Open amidst his injuries. He mentioned, if it weren't French Open I wouldn't have played it with this injury. So, he is much into mastering French Open and he does it for the 14th time. It is always good to take necessary rest to prolong the career. This win have brought him big appreciation beyond tennis. His words on his retirement is really interesting.

Quote
“People who like sports don't like it when someone they admire retires. You don't want Messi or Tiger Woods to retire. I like to see them on TV and I would like to continue watching them.”
1175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: online course for trading on: June 07, 2022, 10:16:12 PM
Never fall as a victim for any of the online trading course. Be smart to analyse and find the right one, if possible try to learn of your own. You've got different sources available. Once I tried to find what is the service provided by these people through social media platforms promoting their trading courses. Initially I was requested to sign-up Binance and further the person insisted to deposit $100 and give the login credentials, so that he'll open trade in my own account and show how things work. I understood whom he is, and I didn't made any deposit. Few days he message me and requested for deposit and I ignored.
1176  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Central Bank Digital Currencies Kill Cryptocurrencies ? on: June 07, 2022, 09:42:07 PM
India doesn't have any strong stand on its legality of bitcoin usage, but it heavily tax the Cryptocurrency. The government wants the profit out of the Investment, but doesn't give any official statement whether the usage is legal or not. People consider it to be legal based on the taxation.

Next thing, people continue to use cryptocurrency amidst several warnings and other problems put forth by the government. Government is well aware of it and it thinks CBDC can limit the usage of cryptocurrencies which is a wrong understanding. Only benefit a government can get out of CBDC is the stagnation, because it is the country that has got more than trillions kept on Swiss Banks.
1177  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I buy BTC or DCA other coins? on: June 06, 2022, 11:59:43 PM
If you think it is enough to have BTC, you may diversify again your money into some altcoins with higher risks if you want. ETH and DOT are also my choices. But never follows what other people do. Just make your own research from now.
Those are good choices so if you're done stacking bitcoin and you think that you've got enough then proceed to your next choice of those altcoins. ETH is one of my top choices after bitcoin. So if you're trying to get as much as you can and balancing the portfolio you've got.
You should choose the best that you think that will fit your portfolio and you truly like because it is your money that you're investing and not the others to intervene with your decisions.
Well said, prioritise bitcoin. When you're fulfilled with the Staking of bitcoin go for altcoins. One contrary altcoins were the one to provide higher ROI than bitcoin, but it has got the risk higher than bitcoin investment. Whenever you make an investment it needs to be diversified, so it is possible to minimize the loss even when the market is on its worse.
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can i earn a passive income with Altcoins? on: June 06, 2022, 11:44:28 PM
Ways to earn passive income out of Altcoins

  • Staking
  • Lending
  • Mining
  • Investing
  • Trading

All that mentioned brings passive income upon the effort of the user. Staking doesn't require much of efforts other than picking the right asset. Lending needs a proper research to find the right platform. Mining requires a big capital funding. Investing is simple, but it has got higher risk. Trading doesn't bring passive income, one need to work on it to make passive income understanding the market fluctuation.
1179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Profitable are Gambling Bots? on: June 06, 2022, 10:56:23 PM
I used autobet before. I won in some days but still lost long term. I never used third party bots. I may not be knowledgeable how its algorithmn works and to how it could increase the probablity of winning but I'm well aware that the house always wins in the end. I don't see the logic of spending money on a bot and then lose my bets in  casino.
It is a proven fact that house always wins at the end. We need to do responsible gambling to limit our losses. Third party bots too does the same as the autobets. Only thing some bots have the similarity of the algorithm which might increase the winning chances. This too isn't assured. Whether it is usage of bots or self playing, everything needs luck to mark your winning.
1180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The first gas station to accept Bitcoin in my region on: June 06, 2022, 10:36:31 PM
I hope the government don't wake up anytime to go against it , those people act funny sometimes because they have always seen bitcoin as a threat to them. Some countries are adopting bitcoin , maybe your country may also adopt bitcoin one day since bitcoin is not totally ban there
For now the cryptomarket in Nigeria isn't regulated. For now the government have considered it among the list of digital assets that can be used as a form of investment. The government haven't authorised to use it as currency as a asset to exchange value. So, it is important to cope with the government policies. Maybe this could cause them with some issues. The step taken forward is really big and the same coming from a country like Nigeria shows how how people are getting into cryptocurrency.
