Simply don't. Earn them and don't exchange them to fiat. Use them inside the system.

The problem is, I have 4 gpu mining rig which they constantly ask me close while im not using. So when I tell them i'm using it to mine alt-currency for Bitcoin they........

offer to pay the power bill

I wonder if they bought him 4 gpus, what possible problems they can have with electricity costs
1262  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: End of Big Miners on: October 11, 2013, 02:47:22 PM
Bitcoin will not have a huge price increase, it will not even get to $200 again.  Watch and see, keep your money out of BTC!

LiteCoin is poised to pop way up soon.

It's going down. At least with btc you have some "guaranteed value" while litecoin is kept on on "simple interest".

Although I would prefer litecoin blocksize and confirmation speeds to bitcoin anyday Smiley

1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governments now own BTC on: October 10, 2013, 05:07:20 PM
They will probably launder it somehow, otherwise it's quite useless, when everyone knows their btc address.

On another note - awesome caricature in the OP Smiley
1265  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-10-08 TheTimes.co.uk - Beware turning drug dealers into folk heroes on: October 08, 2013, 12:48:56 PM
The article was written by Hugo Rifkind, son of the formerly influential Conservative politician Malcolm Rifkind. Little Hugo is a fully paid up honorary member of the political elite so when he speaks what you're really hearing is the political establishment rationalising the reasons for own its own existence.

I know replying to his piece with an ad hominem attack is the lowest form of argument but he was looking for it with the loaded language that he used.

Yeah, he's probably a dick, but still, his point is quite valid.
1266  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 1.2BTC/month just by posting! on: October 08, 2013, 12:44:34 PM

ahahah , I was here to ask if I could get my 250 post payment earlier than my first month , guess thats not an option?

I have finished with the 250 posts , I would LOVE to get the 0.2 bitcoin payment right about anytime you want. I have mentioned my payment method before , if you could pay me and we both would be done with this , it would be great.

wow, you really did a lot of typing in the last days, lol Smiley
and it looks real constructive too, not some spamming.
1267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SilkRoad domain Seized? on: October 08, 2013, 12:41:13 PM
DPR is supposed to appear in court for his bail hearing tomorrow. The prosecution is going to label him a flight risk but I think his defense has a shot at getting him bail. It will probably be a steep bail (1 mil+ maybe?) but if he is able to post it all manner of things involving his bitcoin stash could happen starting tomorrow.

Large scale drug dealer, suspected of involvement in two murders for hire, and demonstrated ability to arrange for false IDs.
Bail seems...unlikely.

Unlikely yes. But the more I think about this the more I realize DPR has one thing going for him. He does not in any way look like a criminal mastermind. He is a young, good looking, educated, seemingly mild mannered man. Not your typical violent drug trafficker. I think a judge and jury are going to have a hard time seeing this guy running a major drug/violence ring. He may get lucky tomorrow and get bail. I personally don't agree with giving bail to anybody implicated in a murder but it happens more than you think.

I think anyone should be allowed to be a free man during the trial. Innocent until proven guilty. Any form of incarceration is a violation of the constitution of most countries and therefore in itself a serious crime.

On the other hand, man having possible access to more hidden btc can flee the country given chance, and they do not want that.
1268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Actual Bitcoin commerce vs. speculation on: October 08, 2013, 12:37:45 PM
Time to bump this thread.

We now know how much business Silk Road had. Is there any Bitcoin business we know of that is comparable?
Everytime I bump this thread, it's the same thing.

Noone can answer the question. Yet people deny Silk Road was Bitcoin's biggest business.

It's painfull to see it go, there were genuine people buying btc to get stuff. Although sellers later sold that btc back, but maybe someone kept it.

TF, what are you going to do about the forum downtime? Do you want to push everyone back 5 days?
Why would you suggest that...?  Angry  Cheesy

I'm actually also up for this, honest is honest.

There is a bigger problem related to reused addresses in this context. Tracking down the donators.

Well, they can't make revenge against hundreds of people that easily.

Forget about Snowden, time to start "Free Ulbricht" charity group, lol

1272  Economy / Gambling / Re: Chess for .01 BTC? on: October 01, 2013, 01:12:09 PM
I wonder how big those shot glass game pieces are. They can't be the normal size, right?  Smiley

If normal is 1oz to you then yes they are normal.

I was thinking 1.5 oz. of liquid. I don't think I could do 16 in the time it takes to play a game.

Well, if you win/lose with pieces on the board, do you do all the shots? And after like 10, you would probably be too drunk to figure out chess Cheesy

Ha. I think the loser would do all of the remaining shots. Death Chess.

Checkmate in 4 moves... Cheesy That would be terrible.

I always found these to be a bad idea, but now I think you just fill them with some lighter alcohol, like cider or wine. Also better figures would not hurt.
1273  Economy / Gambling / Re: bitcoinlivebets.com stealing all my winnings 30 BTC on: October 01, 2013, 01:09:18 PM
Well, I want to try that site, but after that Undecided

cost of their reputation in this case in much lesser than these 30 btc in question

so your not participating is not as big of a deal
on the other hand, if those who are currently using their site would suddenly start to abandon it, in fear of losing money...
1274  Other / Off-topic / Re: Name some good stratergy games on: October 01, 2013, 10:06:15 AM
I haven't played any beyond Zero hour, because in my honest opinion they look shite.

The not so great sequel, Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath wasn't bad at all.
The Expansion didn't add good contents that would change drastically the gameplay, or that the factions would change the gameplay at least.
But the history, the actor of Kane, OP Aliens(aka Scrin) and sci-fi tech make me very happy to play it.

I loved the way how NOD elite unit upgrades himself, salvaging parts from dead or "alive" units.

There hasn't been a lot of good strategy games lately, even turn-based. I'm hoping for new Age of Wonders game to be good. It releases in 31 october, just when I'm having my birthday Smiley
EDIT: its Q1 of 2014 actually, so no birthday present for me :\

Maybe dawn of war 3 will crawl out in the future, but no high hopes there. If only I had a team of slave graphics designers in my basement, I would venture to make my own rts or tbs, as this niche is quite empty nowadays.
1275  Other / Off-topic / Re: Name some good stratergy games on: September 30, 2013, 04:52:29 PM
IDK y you hate the Generals. Except for a bit buggy movement of the units, I think is pretty nice.

I found it bland compared to other games in the series. No memorable units for me, maybe angry mob and hacker. Other games pack huge storyline with cinematics, sci-fi stuff, detailed non-3d graphics. Although multiplayer felt much better than tiberium sun series. It's not a bad game, just not up to the C&C standart of that time in my eyes.

Still 100x better than tiberium twilight!

But my rig heats my apartment in this cold autumn days Smiley for free Smiley

lol where is the profit calculator that takes heating bills into consideration?? how many BTUs does a mining 7950 produce? Grin

Very little, as it's quite energy efficient, but if you stack lots of it together Smiley
Also that's where old cheap gpu's would come in handy, if they were available in my region.
1278  Other / Off-topic / Re: Name some good stratergy games on: September 29, 2013, 05:41:03 PM
The original Red Alert.

Any Command and Conquer is good.

Does anybody remember Dune 2 ? This was great RTS  Smiley

I remember how I used to listen on ending credit song on sega port, after beating final mission, as a kid.

As for C&C - I hated generals (btw new generals will come out in october or november).
And C&C Tiberium saga 4. It was so horridly done, and storyline, and gameplay, utter shit, all of it. It was so sad to see it end like this.
