Does that datacenter care about things like electricity costs? Or it's 50$ to anyone with any rig?

dooglus: implement Inputs withdraws, pretty please?

People keep asking me about them Tongue
What exactly is the advanyage of inputs over any other web wallet?
You don't need to wait for confirmations (and no TX fees) if you're paying offchain. It's also the most secure web wallet, with 2FA, GPG auth, location based authorization, session listing & management, and automatic tor/proxy block if you have enabled that.
you really think it is more secure than blockchain.info?

It is when you cast aside any possible trust issues, like a thought of a situation, where site owners run away with your btc.
1363  Other / Politics & Society / Re: WTF is wrong with America? on: August 13, 2013, 04:58:30 PM
If you want to learn something, don't get an "education". Get a skill. Learn something you can actually improve the world with. You don't need a balding leftist troll in an ancient building telling you bullshit and charging you an arm and a leg to do that.

I agree that education system worldwide is rotten to the core: bribery, favorism, elitism, people paying for their degrees, horrendous pricing, crazy rules, bias all around, using students in any possible way imaginable. I have avoided going to any university because of that, and I am somewhat self-taught in the result of it.

BUT - you will never become a good (let's say)doctor without a balding leftist troll's help for example. Not all skills can be acquired that easy. There are good teachers and professors, whose job is to increase your learning process to the max.

I only wish there was a process like this: you learn (let's say) japanese on your own, at home. You go to the nearest university - pass a very complicated series of tests, pay ~200$, and if score is good enough - you get a diploma.

4.) Your government sucks too. You're seriously delusional if you think you're government has all of your best interests at heart and isn't intrinsically a morally bankrupt institution like every other government (including the US government.)

The only difference being, that any action US government takes kinda affects every other government in the world.

Hi American here I just wanted to clear some stuff up,
5.) Education is totally overrated. For the most part it's not necessary. Get rid of all publicly funded education and let the free market market decide what kind of education is needed. Could be more, could be less. I don't particularly care if we're #1, or #543.
Other American here, most of us do believe in education. I do care if we're #1 or #543, because there are only 196 countries.

There are 3 kinds of people: ones that can count and ones that cannot.
1365  Other / Off-topic / Are Intel ULV processors for laptops any good? Help me pick one. on: August 13, 2013, 02:32:26 PM
A friend of a friend has asked me to pick a laptop for her. I have plenty experience with desktops, but close to none when it comes to laptops/tablets.
Lets say we have:

Core i3-3110M    2.4 GHz  HD Graphics 4000   TDP 35 W
Core i3-3217U    1.8 GHz  HD Graphics 4000   TDP 17 W
Core i5-3210M    2.5 GHz HD Graphics 4000   TDP 35 W
Core i5-3317U    1.7 GHz  HD Graphics 4000   TDP 17 W

If choosing between i3 M and i5 M i would probably choose i3, cause difference is not that big, except for turbo boost. But if choosing between i3 U and i5 U, turbo boost probably might come in very handy.

Thing is - 1.8 Ghz sounds really small. I do not expect her to play crysis, moreover, I saw a video of MW3 on i3 3217u  at youtube, but still. How many Ghz do you need?
If I take i3 U laptop with 15' display and stick 8gb ram and SSD into it, will it feel blazing fast or not? Or do we need a turbo boost? Or both will suck, and we need M version.

Usage scenario = "heavy browsing" (30 open tabs, youtube HD playback), MKV 1080p playback, photoshop sitting in the background.

Thanks in advance.

People who can do CEO type work are very rare and highly sought after, while people who can do low-level jobs are everywhere, especially now that we can hire labor all over the world. It's just supply/demand. Blame low wages on people willing to work for cheaper than you.

Exactly. If a company/board of directors are willing to pay that much to a certain individual, then maybe he is worth it? Although a thing I don't understand is - how did it get that way?

Your average joe works for 10$/hour, then some poor chap comes along and is willing to work for 2$/hour. Joe is fired. I get that. But why on the other end of that spectrum, salaries are so big. Why doesn't some poor chap come along to work as CEO for less?

Also how much could you possibly want? If they offer you a job for 2 mil $ a year, could you keep a straight face and say: "my services require better than that, make it 3.5 mil" ? And if they disagree - screw them, and those 2 mil, right?
1367  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Irrational 1% Jealousy on: August 13, 2013, 12:25:59 AM
Here in California, $75/month ($2.5/day * 30 days) rent might get you a cardboard box under a bridge if you had three roommates with whom to split the rent.

It all depends on your priorities. You can always move to Idaho, Michigan or Nebraska. And about a cardboard box - saw a little clip month ago, about people wiling to rent a closet (!) in someone's apartment, in prestigious parts of New York. For 600$ IIRC. Also state of infrastructure in some urban regions of USA is shocking to say at least. Leaking roofs, dangerously bad wiring, bridges collapsing, streets full of cars/fumes. And people still choose that.

His profile says Latvia, which could be about right? Though I thought Latvia was a little more expensive than that.

I live in the capital, and while our prices are largely unfriendly(and if you are a naive tourist, make them 200%), it all boils down to priorities. Different parts of town - different prices. Although it's also about greed - homeowners sit with their empty properties unwilling to lower price by 20-30%, for months and years. It's much easier to own a luxury shop with huge price margins - you sell 1 item, count your profits and call it a day, rather then sell 100 things for a "honest price".

Ah don't get me started, I could rant all day about this shithole, but there are much worse places on earth.

*To bystanders:  This is all happening in US of A, folks!  These people are living on $16 and change A DAY!  I used to spend more than that on smokes Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I live on a 7-8$ a day, and I must say my life is quite enjoyable as of today. And European prices are much higher than in US in many aspects. Talk about jealousy.

Well if you count only food that I can easily live on $8, but then rent + bills.

rent and bills included

food is 2.5$
rent is 2.5$
electricity/communications/etc = ~1.5$
some everyday stuff like toothpaste, toiletpaper, detergent = ?
and there's always extra stuff like beer, condoms, chocolate.

Even if you get really invested into it, it will never become your full time job.

(my take on it)

1374  Other / Off-topic / Re: btc = greed? on: August 09, 2013, 07:54:49 AM
if they don't want you selling them on ebay they should just delete the listing not ban you.

they delete your listing, and make a warning

next (or next next next) time your account can be suspended

also there's paypal, which has it's own rules and guidelines

I remember back in a day they froze one guy charity account, and he had to give his own money back to all donators, just because paypal had something against certain charities in their guidelines.
1375  Other / Off-topic / Re: btc = greed? on: August 08, 2013, 10:08:51 AM
I sure would if I had the desire to go that route. I prefer something a little more stable, NOT paypal.
I agree.
I get the feeling they got surprise coming in. Like their paypal accounts frozen, when they are at their peak Smiley

Paypal/eBay will not block you outright, they will wait a little bit, untill you sell more, gather more info on you, and then BAM!

I now will give a great advice for everyone whining about threads such as these:

DO NOT POST IN THEM, AND IGNORE OP.

It's now too late, obviously, but next time, YOU DO NOT FUCKING POST YOUR REPLY.
Simple as that.
1379  Local / Трейдеры / Re: Hubcoin.Me - биржа без комиссии on: August 06, 2013, 02:48:30 PM

I'm too busy being delicious right now, to help you, but I wanted to mention that if you live in US - microcenter cpu+mobo bundles = best price for those 2 components.
