1041  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Mining with <$500 for Fun? on: November 27, 2013, 03:03:05 PM
GPU is the best....

In the light of recent grow, I feel very good about wasting my time on scrypt mining.
1042  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Adventures in failure on: November 27, 2013, 02:59:12 PM
You should've left a quarter of your btc untouched, would not seem like a big deal then, and would sooth your frustration now, I guess. You can't have it all. Who knows, If you'd had your internet access then, maybe you'd sell them halfway there, for 3000$ and not 7000$, etc.
1043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving, does it have to be like this? on: November 27, 2013, 02:50:46 PM
Every 4 years the Bitcoin reward halves, this creates a significant event in the mining community where people's operation suddenly becoming unprofitable, this may cause some unpredictability and instability in the bitcoin ecosystem.

Why isn't this reward smoothed so it is a function of the block number, no major jumps, just a slow decrease in the bitcoins mined each block?

Every difficulty jump is your "smoothing" basically. But you make an interesting point.
1044  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: will the bitcoin reach $1000 one day...? on: November 27, 2013, 02:00:32 PM
What do you guys think of the BTC market price on blackfriday, Nov. 29th? Since Coinbase announced no transaction fees, do you think the price will jump significant?
Just curious of what other people thinks..

srsly, do those 0.0X fees matter that much to average person?
1045  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Opinion on the US on: November 27, 2013, 01:55:10 PM
Recent news: Young black kid was walking home, snatched by cops and some guy, which accused that kid of theft. Black kid went to prison at age 16, and was recently released at age 20. No compensation, "you're free to go".

In Russia you'd be at least charged and trialed with some fake evidence. In US judicial system is so awkward, that stuff like this happens all the time. Jailing for facebook comments, some black dude fined for using 'nigger' word, etc.
1046  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you have multiple dreams that "continue" randomly? on: November 27, 2013, 01:47:39 PM
This happens to me, though not lately; I'll experience extremely strong deja vu whilst in the dream and continue it as if nothing had interrupted it.  When I wake up, I try to remember if I was inducing the deja vu or if the dream had occurred in the past and I was experiencing it yet again.

I still think, at times, I'm only imagining that the dream occurred on a separate occasion.  I need to keep a dream journal.

I was thinking about making a youtube channel describing my dreams, as I have a shitton of them regularly. But then again, I'm not a random cute chick, so there would not be enough viewers to compensate for time wasted.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin dead ? on: November 27, 2013, 01:30:30 PM
ooops to LTC haters

Yes, but for example, where's namecoin now? Essentially dead, right? There you go, this chart means nothing.
1048  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you have multiple dreams that "continue" randomly? on: November 24, 2013, 11:09:19 PM
I have like.. multiple dreams that come back, sometimes the next night, or even a year later.

For example, I have an on-going dream that I'm in High School and I can't ever seem to get out no matter how hard I try.

This dream "continues" where it last left off, sometimes for days in a row it will continue, but other times it may be a year or so before coming back.

I've noticed this in the past 5 years of my life.

Am I going crazy?

I have this happen to me a lot.

Today I've dreamed about a bomb going off in a building, same bomb I've dreamed some months ago. Same places, people, stories, just continuing later.
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Encrypted wallet.dat, lost password, any solutions? on: November 22, 2013, 01:36:23 PM
Hello Revalin,
I contact you in order to get your script running as i can't figure my password out anymore. I have a rough idea of what it was so i can narrow down to a handfull of characters and some numbers and 1 special sign Cheesy
However i can't understand what to do with the code you've provided. I browsed the thread (not very deep i have to admit as i got lost quickly enough due to my lack of technical knowlede.
Knowing that i run W7 and have my wallet on Multibit, could you write down a quick guide of the soft i need to install and the procedure to get going at cracking this?

I'd be glad to hear from you ASAP Cheesy
5% of funds going your way if i get it back.

Seems a little to low. Depends on how much these 5% are worth though. You should specify that in this thread to raise additional interest/motivation.
1050  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FEAR the BITCOIN on: November 22, 2013, 01:31:02 PM
So you could have millions (secretly) but not able to spend in a practical way.  I guess it would be fine if you were a whiskey drinkin, gun slinging, drug smoking, yada yada, type of person.  Black Market.

Those blacklisted millions would have much less value than whitelisted ones. So it would not be fine in any case. Can you pay with fake(counterfeit) money on real black markets?
1051  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Opinion on the US on: November 22, 2013, 01:08:10 PM
The US Gov't. Is always trying to be the "WORLD POLICE" or what have you, but these so called "Guardians of Justice" have gone Megalomaniac as of late.
My friends in the EU say that it's pissing the big boys over there off. Ever since Nam in the 60's and korea before that we've being sticking our noses into everyones business.
Now the NSA is even ALL THE WAY in everyones business. Citizens, Foreigners, even God's if he didnt have the ALMIGHTY firewall. (Made in China) LOL they own US.

What else is there left to do? US military has grown so big, than they need to constantly put it to use. They cannot simply disband everyone. Where will those people/equipment go. Work at mcdonalds? There's enough unemployment already.
I always considered servicemen in most countries to be a waste of oxygen.
I live in Latvia, it's a small country. If invaded by any of our neighbors - our military won't do shit. But it's still there, eating away our tiny budget. What for? Why the hell they buy new tech?
If I came to power, one of the first things I would do - make those soldiers into part-time street-sweepers. To get at least some use from them.
1052  Other / Meta / Re: Freedom of Speech on: November 21, 2013, 11:34:28 PM
Ignore him; he just wants a pat on the back for his "high-IQ".  Also avoid self-moderated threads unless you trust the thread starter.

Yeah, It's like self-moderated thread about radical feminism in off-topic. It was a great mistake for me to write there. Only ignoring OP resolved my butthurt. Gotta admit, her trolling was most successfuldue to post deletion. Never participate in a self-modded thread and promote this thought to others around you.
1053  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What's the Problem With BitStamp on: November 20, 2013, 04:48:28 PM
There were some hiccups last two days, but now it seems to work just fine.

Probably due high interest, not exchange turf war.
Although if I was one of the major exchanges and could afford to ddos one of my competition I would surely go for it.
1054  Local / Трейдеры / Re: хочу вложить деньги в криптовалюту on: November 19, 2013, 05:23:25 PM
Подожди, пока этот пик цены спадёт, ну не надо локти кусать  Roll Eyes

1055  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Sell your Bitcointalk accounts here! on: November 19, 2013, 03:09:34 PM

-Moderator please leave thread in newbie subforum.

I usually say "fuck you" to people like you, send them to ignore, and also there's a scammer list on this forum, for likes of you.

But with these prices not only "fuck you" but even "go fuck yourself".

And no, I'm not trolling.

Ktnxbye

EDIT: For people reading this - you can earn much more with your account yourself, than this guy offers.
1056  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FEAR the BITCOIN on: November 19, 2013, 03:05:57 PM
How do you think they caught and shutdown silkroad.

Not by looking at wallets and IP's , do your homework.

All we need to make bitcoin completely track-proof is some big money laundering service which can say "fuck you" to the government.

Let's take PrimeDice for exmple. Add internal wallets/balance to that - and there - you have it. Ideal money laundering service.

Kinda like TF's inputs.io , if he hadn't screwed it. Offchain laundering basically. To be effective it needs to be widely accepted and government-proof, maybe even p2p or something.

And CIA can suck on some cock.
1057  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone: Remain Clam & Get Some Sleep on: November 19, 2013, 02:51:32 PM
Yesterday I had so much shit to do in real life, that I had to skip on some good arbitraging. DAT ARBITRAGE! (~200$ difference). Did some trading in the evening. Wanted to sleep so badly, awake for 40+ hours due to other stuff, went to bed and JUST COULD NOT SLEEP, watching these crazy price jumps. Kinda glad to see price drop, and especially price difference drop. Will eat a meal and go to sleep now.
1058  Economy / Exchanges / Re: www.BITSTAMP.net Bitcoin exchange site for USD/BTC on: November 19, 2013, 02:44:30 PM
Now it seems that API does not work. I keep receiving 403 Forbidden. The very same code worked yesterday ...

Same here. Although I'm not in a mood for trading today, nothing beats yesterday. But it seemed scary for a moment. Imagine if one of these exchanges goes boom with allthe BTC and fiat in it. Scary.
1059  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which operating system(s) do you use? on: November 18, 2013, 11:19:09 PM
linux servers ok, but what the fuck will i do with linux

Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux

Have fun reading that, it might stop you from asking such ignorant questions.

dont like linux and over, i am not gonna read that article

Could you atleast explain why you don't like Linux? Have you had it installed on your pc, or atleast tried it once?

I tryed it once, and i couldnot find drivers for my laptop. Thats why i hate linux

So you say that a great OS sucks, because you can't even find drivers for a laptop  Roll Eyes.

That's great criticism if you ask me.....

I'd say there's a very high probability of his laptop not supported vs him not being able to simply find drivers.
Sometimes laptops are lacking support from different windows OSes, u can imagine that linux is even worse in this department.
It's all about market share and manpower willing to make drivers based on that market share.
