2601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / 0.9.5 with 90% of network, according to Chainz Explorer on: July 19, 2014, 03:50:55 PM
Unobtanium's Chainz explorer is reporting that 0.9.5 has 90% of the network now.

2602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: July 19, 2014, 03:48:59 PM
There are some rumors around that UNO expects a pump soon lika Zeta in the past. What do you think about it?
What do you want to hear? UNO has been through one of the most notorious pumps of this year. It almost destroyed the coin. Without FalingKnife putting the pieces back together I don't know we'd even be here talking to each other.

So no, I'm not a big fan of the idea. I also haven't heard any rumors. But I get that UNO is an attractive coin for a pump. The rarity and its current low price could make it explode in value if enough volume comes to the market...
What kind of pump are your referring to?
There's two kinds of pumps:  A big long Wolong style pump, or the 90 second "pump & dump."   I think the way things look on MintPal, it's a 90-second pumper's dream setup right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see something like that.  We've seen at least two of the 90-second pumps the past couple of months.

Is there a source for the rumors you can share?
2603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / UNO is rolling. on: July 17, 2014, 05:37:15 PM
Yesterday UNO got engraved wallets from Bitkee.

Today it got media attention at Cryptocoinsnews.com

What could UNO get Tomorrow.... ATMs?

I like how UNO is listed FIRST in this tweet. Smiley

The UNO community is not content to just sit back and hope good things happen; we choose to make good things happen. We reach out and engage with the world every day to build value.

Here's the article.

2605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / CryptoCoinNews.com to feature a story on UNO on: July 17, 2014, 02:20:50 AM
I heard from a reporter yesterday from CryptoCoinNews.com.  He was writing an article about Unobtanium.

"I've finished the article and it's awaiting my editor's approval now before it goes live on cryptocoinsnews.com.  Feel free to link to that article anywhere you wish once it's up!"

The reporter earlier said,
"I've selected Unobtanium... due to it's strong community, professional grade website, and how much adoption it has already received."

It's up to his editor when the story runs, but it could be as soon as tomorrow (Thursday).  If it's a good article (and why wouldn't it be??!) lets help it get the coverage it deserves, and leave some good comments for the article.  It could be a great opportunity for UNO to get noticed by new investors.

I hope all this good news will soon be reflected in UNO's price. Smiley

UNO has some great momentum right now! Let's keep it rolling!
2606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: July 16, 2014, 08:24:36 PM

Do you see that!  Bam!  Two different kinds of physical UNO just like that Smiley

Personally I like the stylistic of version of bigtimespaghetti.  It's the first run and collect-ably unique.

Overtime and given the demand we can see all sorts of versions.  [still favor the square periodic style as something for mass production].

Did I say mass production?  With just 200k and smart design(s) of cold wallets, UNO is going to be sold out.

example
Just working the 'downtown' clients of any major metro center.  A few good 'street' hawkers could sell a run of 100kg bars.

And that's the hard way.

Bitkee.com is now selling them for UNO.  I just ordered one.  (I'll get one from Bigspag too, when he's ready!)

You'll need a BIP38 encrypted wallet address, which you can get from Cryptapus' wallet generator at http://cryptap.us/uno/paperwallet.html

Actually, we should test those encrypted addresses just to be 100% sure they work.

By the way I am sending 1 uno to the address shown in this image. Who will get it first?! Smiley

Hi guys,
Just wanted to provide you with some updated in for Unobtanium/UNO.

The official website for UNO has changed to http://unobtanium.uno   (unobtanium.io is now offline).

There is an old explorer out there on the wrong fork. Please check and be sure you are not getting your data from a an explorer on the wrong fork (KGW hit at block 450k). Current block is around 459k;  bad fork is around 470k. Cryptexplorer.com is correct. suggest using this explorer, or Chainz.

New explorers are online. Here are the links to machine readable info for Uno, in case you need them.

2608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / UNO Development Update, or "More reasons to own UNO." on: July 15, 2014, 09:45:09 PM
Quick update  from your active UNO development team. I'm not a dev, but it's my pleasure to sometimes hear about what they're doing and then be able to share that with you.

Because I'm a loudmouth around here, I sometimes get contacted by people with technical questions that I sure as hell can't answer. So I usually start by bothering Blazr2, who has has been just great in responding and helping those folks. He's also coded some fixes and enhancements for Linux, and has pushed the updates back to Bryce.

Bryce is working now on updating the repo with a post-KGW checkpoint which Unobtanium's exchanges can use and be 101% assured of a proper chain. A forthcoming client update may also lockout those old non-kgw wallets.

Some Mac updates have been pushed back to Bryce.  He said he's going to have new Apple Developer signed UNO wallets made for Mac so they will always be guaranteed current and virus free.

Some other great stuff in the works for UNO!

One of the perks of being a currency that is supported by Blocktech Group is that they have a size & scale that will benefit Unobtanium.  Bryce mentioned to me that UNO will eventually be getting SMS wallets and ATMs!  He is already working on those for Razor and will then bring the technology to UNO.  Blocktech also has manufacturing capability, so it's possible to make something like the hardware cold storage wallets on bitkee.com for Unobtanium.

As a coin that is made to last and be a store of wealth, a laser engraved hardware wallet the size of a credit card would be really cool, no?  There's already been a lot of interest and talk here recently about metal cold storage of UNO, so I know this idea will resonate with you all.  Although anyone with the skills and credibility can do this and bring their project to the community, it's also nice to know that Blocktech has this capability and plans to make it available to UNO.

Bryce said that Blocktech is using Razor to test everything as their market cap is large enough for some research and development costs (Actually, I took that comment as a challenge: beat Razor's market cap!! Smiley ).  Those finished and developed features can then be brought to UNO and the other coins that Blocktech stewards.  UNO is going to need this functionality to compete and stay relevant in the new market.

It's wonderful to have Blazr and Bryce both hard at work at protecting your investment in Uno. They're both excited about UNO, and I can tell they enjoy  this community.

Remember that much of the value of Un is in it's ultra-fair start. Blazr didn't pre-mine Un. Feel free to send Blazr a tip at uhLECQ8KWx6Ttj5pZsRGuthkzYXQuEswPJ

I don't think BW has a tip address, but you can keep up with this latest thoughts about... everything... on Twitter, @bryceweiner

And don't forget Learminer who built and maintains the Unobtanium website. He's put a lot of work into it. Last week's updates include the display of Uno/Doge prices, fixing the network hashrate monitor and adding price/volume for Coinbroker.io, a very active UNO market. Tip Learminer at uewrE9QWc54EXjCZehWDPkjqgsyRDpQmK8

And on a personal note... Acquired a little 100ghs miner and it's all on Uno until the last .0001 Uno is mined around the year 2300 (or until it burns out, whichever comes first). This is what a good day looks like to me:

I'll shutup now and let you all talk.

Happy accumulating!

(ps - Just so you know... a price of .045 would put UNO on par with Razor's mktcap today. Very doable)

2609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: July 15, 2014, 02:01:41 PM

Being rare alone doesn't make UNO special.

i would disagree here. Because Un has a special background of not being flashmined, instamined or premined. In addition to that it has very, very low inflation. If you take all factors into consideration including its scarcity, oh boy. The scarcity is one of Unos killer-features making it one of the very few coins out there that really deserve to be looked at as wealth-storage. Uno is right now amongs the most undervalued coins in crypto. (strong buy for smart investors).
Un is not only low coin-count but also low inflation - being scarce in every possible way and healthy at the same time makes it special. I don't know any comparable coin tbh. Other coins are currencies. This is commodity.

I gobble up all your cheap uno but don't cry later. I have to ask myself who the fuck is selling so cheap?
All great points. I left too much unsaid.
2610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: July 15, 2014, 02:52:25 AM
Just a reminder about the opportunity that we have in front of us right this minute....

With UNO's return to 3 minute blocks, this is the production schedule. We're about half way through the .065 reward for blocks 400.000 - 500.000 (458,445 as I write this). The current .065 block reward will end in just 3 months. Then the reward drops to .03125 for the next 100k blocks (about 7 months).

I did the date-math on the UNO production schedule. During the 5 1/2 year period October 2014, through March 2020, there will only be 6,238 more UNO produced!

That's much, much less UNO over the next 5.5 years than we saw this year. And if you consider that CoinEx sold us back 7000 of our own UNO this year on top of what was mined, then you know that. 2014 was a huge year for the community to absorb new UNO coming onto the market.

We are now in the end game for UNO creation. The last 50k or so UNO will take nearly 3 centuries to be mined. You will never see 250k Uno coins in your lifetime. Or your children's lifetime.

If you have any UNO, even 1 like our friend said he had, hold it tight.

Being rare alone doesn't make UNO special. But this will be among the first credible, known, enduring, community supported fair start coins to essentially mine out. Maybe it will crash and burn, or maybe... just maybe something else will happen. As the wallet says, it is experimental software, and anything can happen. My bet is that crypto will survive and become accepted as a mainstream means of wealth transfer and debt settlement; as a credible and interesting, and early part of the crypto landscape, I believe UNO will be sought after if, for nothing else, a rare collectible.  Rome hasn't produced gold coins for dozens of centuries; you can't spend one at the mall, but discerning people still want to own Roman gold coins even more for their place history as for their their gold.   BW called Un the $100 bill of altcoins, and I agree with that characterisation.

This is not the moment to become discouraged about Unobtanium's price. This is a huge gift we've been given.

imo

It seems a lot of Uno has flowed out of Cryptsy & MP past couple of days because of the Vericoin scare.  Buy/sell orders are very, very thin.  I'm expecting big volatility as a result.

Except for the price of Un, things are going very well, actually.

cryptsy higher than mintpal. Haven't seen that in a while.
I think 200 confirms has taken the mojo out of MintPal.

Cryptsy will run away with the Uno market if MP doesn't address this. No one, including me, wants to wait 10 hours for a deposit to clear - it just takes the fun out of it. I contacted them again today, asking for reconsideration.

Good news !
Look at the Swisscex : https://www.swisscex.com/market/KSC_BTC
KSC was sold @ 0.39998450 BTC and the price it is climbing !

It's on the uptrend... maybe people finally realize that it's a very very rare coin and start to collect them at cheap prices

Too bad if dev was still active, this coin should be worth at least 10 times the current price

Hope dev will be back someday
Allcrypt also lists this coin.
2616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Price of Uno on: July 12, 2014, 05:03:31 PM
Oh, gee, what a surprise.  All the exchanges are in the 0.002's.  (Isn't that what I said we should be trading at weeks ago?  (Because that's all the community can afford to support it.))  Now, instead of a healthy building valuation profile from 0.002 to 0.0029, UNO is looking piss-poor, and the most vested and interested parties have a loss for every purchase over that time period.

[tapping foot in anoyance]

It's not like I didn't try to communicate this to everyone.  I haven't even participated in this market for weeks!

Buyers are in no hurry and are taking advantage of weak hands.  I see a clear shakedown occurring. I would rather see Uno higher because, well, my pride -- I prefer a strong Uno. It makes it easier to get things done for Uno and to get attention of people if I can brag of a 500k market cap, good trade volume and a "top 50" ranking on coinmarketcap.

But I'm not too worried right now.  On MP, UNO can be bought up to .004 with only 1.7 btc.  And .005 is only 2.9 btc away.  Wouldn't be surprised to see some big sell wells to try and push it lower.  Someone wants cheap Uno.

I think what's happening is a continued transfer of Uno from weaker hands to whales who have a longer term interest in Uno.
The markets are very thin right now on both sell and buy side.  Buyers keep moving down thin offers, and as long as people keep dumping into the lower price, they have further incentive to keep moving the buy orders lower, especially when it's so easy to bring Uno back up later.

I'm at a loss right now, but I could buy a helluva lot more Uno at .001 and lower my average buy price.  My concern is for the community, that new traders will lose interest, and a low marketcap makes Uno look unimportant. And if volume drops too low on exchanges for too long, that could eventually be bad for Uno.

When the dumping stops, it will head back up. There's much less new Uno coming on the market.  At least 1k Uno less has been generated since the switch to Kgw/3 min. blocks last month. And the coinex dumping is over, I feel quite sure about that. That's probably what's contributing to these thin markets.

That's my take, what's yours? Love to hear what you guys think.

This might be interesting to some of you hardcore traders.... it's Wolong's "book" and he mentions Uno. Take it for what it's worth. The guy has an ego so large he loves to brag about how he operates (or is this just more deception... hmm?) Decide for yourself.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=686525.0  I thought it was fun to read.

very good idea.

It be easy to set up an OTC uno market.  Just requires another thread.  And some simple rules.
We could require whole kg trades.  Via a simple bids "Offer to Trade" post.  Sigs can be used to authenticate.  And "quote" to carbon copy trade agreements.  Then we can cross post swaps on said coins BCT thread.

examples

"Offer to PAY" [9 CRYPT] for delivery of 1kg UN
"Offer to PAY" [80 MAX] for delivery of 1kg UN
"Offer to PAY" [99 POT] for delivery of 1kg UN
"Offer to PAY" [30 DRK] for delivery of 100kg UN

IN ANOTHER WORLD
they sell

imitation = complement? Cheesy

Unat sounds cool. Good luck to them. We can trade it on the Uno exchange, along with other rare coins.  Grin

2619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Mintpal chasm on: July 10, 2014, 10:39:50 PM
Does it really take 200 confirmations to deposit Un onto Mintpal?  Shocked

reddcoin takes 1000confirms at cryptsy and bittrex and a staggering 2000 confirms at poloniex - that is 2 days for a deposit in reddcoin. Can only shake my head.

Thats ridiculous. is it because of the recent fork? I was trying to get coins out of cryptsy to mintpal and it took all night. I will not be sending anymore to mintpal for now because of this.  I wish I would have known before I sent them I hate how exchanges don't tell us anything. Cryptsy didn't even tweet about UNO going down when they had that issue last week. Didn't even give us an update or anything. For days. They just leave us hanging. It is really starting to piss me off.

Yes, they told me it is because of the fork. It looked like a double spend attack to their admins, who take no chances. I'll try to educate them (again) on what's going on. I'm glad they move to protect UNO when they sense anything out of the ordinary. Hopefully it will be cleared up soon.

Ok... i see now, learnerminer had mentioned a double-spend precautionary...
I had never sent UNO to Mintpal before, only BTC... so I wasn't sure if this was normal or not haha
Protecting our Un is most important, I guess I expect more from these exchanges as far as informing people of...things. When I go t bed I don't like to have coins not confirmed.
 Cool
Anyways, I do really like trading UNO on Mintpal and as soon as they get their act together I will resume trading their.

I like trading on MP, too.  A big chasm has opened up there.  Buyers & sellers have to cross over a long way to get what they want. Buyers sit back and wait for sellers to dump, and sellers sit back and wait for buyers.   It's a standoff at Mintyland right now.
