Decisive action. Cooperation between community and exchanges. Well thought plan that's ready to execute.  Great job!  I'll be watching your progress.
2722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / UNO Price on: June 05, 2014, 02:26:00 AM
Sorry to post so much today, but I did take a weekend off Smiley
A few people have PM'ed me to ask why I think the price of UNO is low.  First, thanks for giving a shit what I think. That puts you +1 over my wife and kids.

UNO is a great coin... All I can say when it's at 004, even after all of the recent good news is... do you have enough?  At it's worst just a few months, even after UNO had been quietly abandoned by its devs, .0039 was about the bottom.   So what's going on? Why is it hovering around .004 now?

This is why I am still picking up UNO at sale prices....

My belief is that Bitcoin's fast rise has sucked a lot of air out of the altcoin market; I'm convinced that's what's driving this. This is a cycle that will come back around. As I posted on another thread; if the Euro rises dramatically against the Dollar and you hold Euros.... it might be a good time to swap into dollars (doomsday scenarioists and dollar haters, you get my point, right Smiley ). Likewise, right now if you're holding BTC, you can buy more UNO per BTC.  Eventually the gap between uno and btc will tighten up.  This is underscored in the price of uno vs usd -- uno has held up against the dollar very well, even as the dollar has lost ground to btc.

I think with all of the recent good news that UNO has had, you know that its recent rise was not a simple pump and dump. Sure, there were some momentum chasers in the mix (as there always is) but primarily UNO rose on its merits, the value of an interested community, active devs, and interest from exchanges.  Yet, if someone had credibly told me that BTC was going to rise 70%, I probably would have held off a bit and bought more uno later, but that's how it goes here in cryptoland. No guarantees.

Maybe you have heard some of the speculation that UNO stolen from Coinex are being dumped on the market right now (estimates I heard are about 500 uno, or only about 3 btc). It may be true or not.  If the stolen coins are finding their way back to market, I'm glad actually: there are too few UNO to lose that many forever. Long term it would hurt us to lose so many coins. But if it's true, and stolen coins are really being dumped right now, then this is a phenomenally rare opportunity to buy UNO at unnaturally low prices. Again, I don't know if it is or not, but it's interesting to speculate. I just hope I'm not buying coins that were stolen from you.

So far, BTC has never been able to keep rising forever; if history is our guide, it will come back down again. When it does, expect UNO to rise against the price of BTC. If stolen coins are being dumped, then that will end eventually; would you rather buy cheap uno now, or sell your uno cheap?   When these events play out, I just hope you'll be comfortable in your UNO position.

For these reasons and others, I am very bullish and long on UNO.
2723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Linux on: June 05, 2014, 02:08:42 AM
I'm told a Linux wallet update is in the works. That will make it easier to add services for UNO.
Mac lovers, we have not forgotten about you. Good things are happening/will happen for UNO.
2724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Official Unobtanium Thread Open Again! : Current Release 0.9.4 on: June 05, 2014, 02:04:31 AM

"So i would define uno as a store of wealth..."

This coin needs a campaign, needs someone to promote it full time and make the crypto-aware public take notice. We want people to say "I need to those..." not, "There no place to spend it!" Stop thinking "coin" and "money". Think value and future wealth. Perhaps this is the way to greatness for UNO.

What say you all?

Bob

What's the next step, Bob?  Would you lead it?
2725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Official Unobtanium Thread Open Again! : Current Release 0.9.4 on: June 05, 2014, 02:00:54 AM

185,000+ current UNO supply with less than 12,000 (12 ton) more UNO to be mined before "inflation mode" starts at block 612,000.  In reality even less UNO is available due to buy/mine and hold strategy.  Now may be a good time to get some.

Wow, now is a GREAT time to buy UNO.  Bitcoin's meteoric rise has sucked all of the oxygen out of the room for the moment. But it will come around again.... it always does.  The price of uno vs btc has dropped, but the uno marketcap vs dollars has not changed that much.   I hope people realize this.

It's as though the British Pound gains big against the USD.... it becomes a great time to convert your Pounds to Dollars. Likewise, convert your BTC to UNO. This is the way currencies (including cryptocurrencies) cycle.  Sell high, buy low.
2726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: June 05, 2014, 01:56:23 AM
Hey guys, I just noticed that the paper wallet generator @ http://cryptap.us/uno/paperwallet.html doesn't allow the creator to download the script for offline use. Anybody know how we can change this?
Hi Mean-Bob.
Why don't you send a PM through Bitcointalk to Cryptapus.
Let us know what you hear.
2727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: June 04, 2014, 11:52:43 PM
Maybe the order moved to MintPal. There's 582 uno sell order at .0043.
Whatever the source, it's uno that needs a good wallet.

I think its time to start buying again. This stalemate and low volume is getting boring.
2728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: June 04, 2014, 07:40:25 PM
hows the chances of an ant miner  on solo mine with this coin?
Chances are not very good. Network hash is way too high to solo UNO with an ant. I'd suggest mining a more profitable coin and then exchanging for UNO.
2729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: June 04, 2014, 02:14:26 AM
+1 for merged mining
-1 for pos
Yeah, agreed. Which currencies might be candidates for merged mining though?

Sent some BTC. Come on guys and gals, we can gather .2 BTC for this purpose, can't we?

Thanks for the support for the new block explorer & rich list project.
Already we've raised .07 btc, and 12.6 uno, or about .12 of the .2 btc needed. Just .08 btc (or 20 uno) more needed.

The project is going to happen, guaranteed. I've was talking to the Dev today. He's running into the same Linux wallet problems that we've known about. As soon as Bryce has a fix for that, we'll have this service up. Hopefully won't take too much longer, as Bittrex is also waiting for that fix.

PS - donations are totally refundable until spent on this project. If it doesn't happen I'll send it back.

Any News ?

CryptoAltEx is closing down. I'll keep mining RON for awhile so you can get your coins.

If you don't want your RON, please send it to:

+1 for merged mining

Ditto.  Love merged mining idea; that may become more important as the block reward continues to dwindle.

Btw, thanks for the donations for the new rich list/explorer, guys. Received!
2732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Rich list revival on: June 03, 2014, 02:13:32 PM
I appreciate that some of you want to contribute to bringing back the Rich list.
The dev asked for .2 btc, an annual expense for hosting, which is currently about 50 UNO.

Send UNO to: uWA5eSfCrPaEY7tnd4vqxHrJEV59sorSdz
Send BTC to:  14wVbzRh7v1qCvH7xmtx66jnfjzK6hmkbm

I'll let him know that we'll move forward with it.
2733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / New UNO Pool on: June 03, 2014, 02:02:59 AM
Welcome Koinpool to the UNO community.

They launched today. Hash needed.
2734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: June 03, 2014, 12:52:47 AM
hey @FK, are you aware that the rich list is down?

Yeah, it's irritating. The rich list was a popular service. I paid .1 BTC a month ago to bring it up. Agran wants another .1 btc to rebuild it.

Agran: I think that everything will be all right. I crashed the server, it rarely happens.

Learnminer suggested I talk with Fairglu who runs Chainz. Here's that exchange:

>Hello
>The rich list for #Unobtanium went down 2 weeks ago. What kind of incentive would you need to be able to host a UNO block explorer and rich list?

Fairglu:
Hi, I charge essentially for the hosting costs so I don't run it at a loss, or 0.2 BTC per year per blockchain.

---

The Chainz explorer and rich list is nice. See what they've done for AUR:  http://chainz.cryptoid.info/aur/#!rich
UNO doesn't really need another explorer, but this is a nice service. In addition to an explorer & rich list, they also provide a hashrate distribution/extraction chart.
They seem like they would be a reliable. The cost is .2 btc per year.

Check out Chainz and let me know what you think.

I'm already .1 btc into the old rich list with nothing to show after 1 month. Who would go in on Chainz with me?
2735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: June 02, 2014, 01:17:32 PM

Let's bring some exciting UNO-style trade action to our friends at Bittrex!  As soon as it's up, I'll be moving half a ton of UNO over there to help kick things off.
Bittrex said that a coin needs to do at least .1 BTC daily in trades for them to break even. I think we can blow that out of the water!
Bittrex delaying UNO launch by a week due to wallet issue.  No worries, UNO will still be on Bittrex before LTC on Gox.

https://bittrex.com

Bryce is working with them direct. We've long known the Linux/Mac wallets need some love.
2736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: June 02, 2014, 12:22:17 PM
I'm another one who's been with Unobtanium from the beginning.  I just think it's timely to express a characteristic of UNO, which is independence from the cycles of other cryptos and financial instruments.  Right now, the aware observer may be realizing that UNO's been hit by poor phase timing by forces beyond participants' control.  This isn't the first time.

The long-term strategist, holders, UNO veterans, all know this is not something significant in the larger picture.

When UNO surprises everyone,...and it will,...this, too, will not be when the casual observer will expect it.

Just some things to think about, then silently go back to what you were doing.  Wink

Agreed. If UNO was traded vs USD, the chart would look better. Although the price today is lower vs. BTC, UNO's marketcap in USD is higher now than mid-April, way before the new Dev Team and other good news was announced.  If you're already holding BTC it looks to me like a great time to acquire UNO.

Study this until it sinks in.  Do I like this low price?  Well, it hurts my UNO pride for the moment, but I realize the score in this game isn't nearly as bad as it seems.  Meanwhile...

I'm slowly picking up bargains on 3 exchanges.   If people want to sell it for .0031, who am I to say no to that.

The momentum buyers who chased UNO to 007 and then fled are now trying to chase Bitcoin to $700. Then they'll be off to chase the next pump. As the USD reflects, this buy opp for UNO is unrelated to the underlying inherent value of Unobtanium. I don't think this buy opp will last long.

The news for UNO is better, not worse.  Block reward halving is resulting in less UNO, not more. We have more/better exchanges, not fewer. We have a more active community than just a few months ago. We have a talented Dev team.  The only thing making people sad is the price of UNO vs BTC, even though it's holding against USD.

Sale prices at department stores usually make people happy not sad, but in cryptoland the opposite is true; most people are only happy if they can buy at really expensive prices.  Buy high/sell low is a strategy that has yet to earn me a satoshi.

In UNO for the long haul.
2737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: May 30, 2014, 09:45:59 PM
OK, someone really is in the mood of dumping UNO today. Back at .004 so soon? Didn't expect that.

Will need to free up more BTC to spend on cheap UNO I guess...

wow no kidding! It looks like both of FallingKnife's buy walls(cryptsy and mintpal) were taken down!! That's good though, lets get those weak hands off the market!
I'll send a hundred UNO and some bitcoin to Bittrex to help kickoff UNO's new market.

I agree, I too will have to free up some more bitcoin. I definitely didn't think we would get dumped on like we did. Anyone willing t sell UNO at .005 doesn't deserve to own them anyway...

Some people got excited and took some profits (or got scared and took their losses). Buy/sell volume is so thin right now, we'll probably seem some wide oscillation for a few days.

I'm taking the weekend off, my coins are offline. Not even going to think about it for a few days. I'm going fishing. Hope you have a great weekend.
2738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Bittrex! on: May 30, 2014, 12:35:36 PM

Yeah! There it is! Should have been last week, but I'm really glad to have Bittrex as a new market for UNO! Bittex is growing fast, has a strong security-oriented team with  Fortune 500 admin experience, and is US based.

2739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Unobtanium Info & Discussion on: May 29, 2014, 10:21:40 PM

A ton of support for UNO @ 0.005

I'll add a little support at MintPal at .005 and move up as necessary.  I think UNO below is .006 is a bargain.

Shake 'em out so we can move up!

Wink

Added a little more at .005 and .005+... trying to lure them in.....
More will be added once my bitcoins arrive from Coinbase(hey I spent all of em when the price was .0045)

Just wanted to say nice job to all you guys working so hard for the UNO community!
I have owned UNO since last November and I'm so excited to see the activity lately...
I am working on my goal of 1% of the total supply of the UNO market, I just don't know if I'll get there before the price goes up!!

Like FallingKnife said, Lets shake 'em out!

Several hours and no takers at .005.  Moving my MintPal buy up to 0051.  Come dump on me, please.
2740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Bring Down Coinex.pw on: May 29, 2014, 07:11:47 PM
It's time to bring Coinex down.

1) I have contacted Cloudflare support. I suggest you do the same. They are protecting this scam site.  I think Cloudflare could be held accountable in a lawsuit for knowingly protecting a scam site.  Let's send them 100 support emails requesting that Coinex.pw come down. Post your message to Cloudflare here so that anyone litigating in the future can argue that Cloudflare was duly notified that their client is acting illegally.   https://support.cloudflare.com/

2) Tweet to @cloudflare and tell them to bring down Coinex.pw  https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
You can also send emails to abuse@cloudflare.com

3) Document the problem on Webutation.com  http://www.webutations.info/go/review/coinex.pw

4) File a complaint with IC3  http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx

5) File a complaint with us FTC https://econsumer.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

Here's my message to CloudFlare support today.

"Hello,
It has been well known now for 2 months that your customer Coinex.pw has abandoned their bitcoin exchange, and has resorted to stealing money from unsuspecting customers who deposit funds there. It's mind blowing that this has gone on for so long.

I believe Cloudflare has a responsibility to bring down the DNS on this site and stop this theft. Cloudflare should not protect criminals.

Please don't believe me. Just checkout Coinex's twitter feed, twitter.com/coinexpw

Here's a thread on BitcoinTalk.org  where people have been complaining for months.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=265277.2680

http://www.webutations.info/go/review/coinex.pw

Check around and you will find much evidence supporting what I am telling you.

Please do the internet a favor and bring down DNS for coinex.pw so that others will not be victims of this honeypot you are protecting. I would hate to see Cloudflare held accountable for aiding a criminal enterprise.

Thanks,

----

While Cloudflare could disrupt DNS and stop the site, if there's anyone left at Coinex.pw (which I doubt), they could bring the site backup without CloudFlare DNS protection.

I'm glad that some of you sometimes are able to withdraw some coins. It's probably coming at the expense of new victims who are still depositing coins. I'm sorry for your loss, but this needs to stop.

This may make no difference whatsoever, and maybe coinex.pw will still be up a year from now, but it's time to try something. It's time for Coinex.pw to come down. There's enough victims. We don't need any new ones.

Working through Coudflare is probably our best option. Unless you have a better one.
