401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: June 11, 2020, 04:37:09 PM
While ICC is deciding whether to postpone T20 Worldcup next year, BCCI has decided to host IPL this year. Looks like Ganguly doesn't care about ICC's decision anymore Tongue

If IPL face cancellation then BBCI is going to lose approx $500 Millions in one go... so clearly they are in deep mess in current situation and desperately want to organize event, let's see if other boards release their players for IPL.
I think the other boards will probably agree. Right now most of the boards has cut short the pay of the players, IPL is a cash cow for the players so eventually they will presurize the Boards for IPL. If IPL is hosted even Bravo will take part in it on behalf of CSK  Tongue

The BCCI is working on all possible options to ensure that we are able to stage the IPL this year, even if it means playing the tournament in empty stadiums.

403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Reasons Why I Prefer a Bitcoin Mobile Wallet on: June 11, 2020, 05:25:08 AM
Mobile wallet centralized companies?

If they close down you won't recover anything. Unless you pay for a lawyer to sue them and give back your funds.
With hardware wallet, even if its not updated it will still be there.
It is safe as long as you have the seed or the private keys.
That's the difference.

Even hardware wallets are manufactured and sold by a company. Of course, Hardware Wallets are more secure than Mobile wallets but there are many non-custodial, opensource mobile wallets out there. So if you are using a non-custodial mobile wallet you can still get your seeds/private keys.

@Hhampuz, Just a suggestion. Instead of using PMs, why not use Google forms to take the entries? It will be less hassle for you.

406  Other / Meta / Re: Bumped by who on: June 09, 2020, 03:30:15 PM
You seem to be agreeing to not make the bump list public a few months back, so what changed now? Did you find some thread being bumped unfairly? If so, why don't you share the threads here so that everyone could have a say.

Non-publicity of data

For now, I am intentionally not making it public who bumped each topic, since that way you can't prove that you bumped anything, and this may prevent people from selling their bumps as easily. I don't particularly object to making the approximate bump scores or bump powers public, but I didn't do this yet.
I agree with theymos's thought. Also, I think anyone can bump a thread. So, there's no way you can read other people's mind if they are intentionally bumping a thread or it's a coincidence. People like their supported coin's ANN to be at the top.

No. You only get notified once per post regardless of how many times he quotes or mentions you.

You got mentioned twice because he posted the same thing twice (and deleted the first post):

Oh sorry, I didn't see the 3-minute gap between the two notification received before now and I didn't expect that someone would delete and repost almost the same thing Undecided
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is KCS or kucoin share is better investment on: June 07, 2020, 12:53:57 PM
Kucoin is a pretty decent exchange and the KCS is an exchange based token. IMO, Kucoin has nothing much to offer and they lack innovative ideas like Binance, so I don't think they'll much traction. Moreover, the price of KCS seems to have stabilised in the 1$ price range since the ATH of 20$. Of course, there is a chance for some pumps, so if you are looking at a long term investment perspective, I don't think its good. But you can always trade them and sell at a high price when it gets a pump. But it's just my thoughts, ultimately it's your decision whether to invest or not.

I wouldn't suggest you signup for MEW or Trust Wallet to just getting notified of a transaction. There are many telegram bots which can do the job for you.

I use @MagnumNotifierBot for keeping track of my Bitcoin transactions. I don't use it to track Ethereum tokens but they do support a large number of Cryptos so I think it can help you.
If you are specifically looking for Ethereum tokens alone, you can use @ETHtokenExplorer_bot

@TryNinja Today, I got two notifications for the same post(link). As you can see in the post, Juggy quoted one of my posts and also mentioned my @username. So I just want to know if someone quotes you multiple times, will I be notified multiple times? Or it's just a glitch?
Btw, Thanks for the bot. I have been using the bot since last month, it's very helpful.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: June 07, 2020, 10:20:51 AM
@akhjob in my personal opinion they have every right to pull out of this tour, as the situation in England has yet not improved, also it’ll be really interesting to see how the player’s plan to keep the ball shining without using their saliva.

I too am not judging their decisions to quit from the tour and they have every right to be with their family during this Pandemic condition. Heck, I too have stopped going to Office and applied for leave starting this month once the Indian Govt lifted the lockdown because of family concerns. So I definitely don't mind if the WI players decided to stay with their families.
Regarding shining the ball, they better start to learn to swing the ball without the use of sweat or saliva Wink I even read an article about Srilankan bowlers claiming that sweat is not as effective as Saliva. Guess, if they knew that they aren't allowed to use sweat either, they would have a heartbreak.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: June 06, 2020, 04:14:01 PM
@JSRAW So looks like the reasons for Darren Bravo, Shimron Hetmyer and Keemo Paul backing off from the ENG is related to family concerns in this Pandemic situation. Keemo Paul seems to be the sole breadwinner for a big family and he is not comfortable leaving them in this situation. Hetmeyer seems to be not comfortable with the family's safety when he leaves the country. Bravo seems to have concerns about his health and its further consequences. So ultimately it's the Corona Pandemic which made them quit the tour.

414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The best device for online gambling. on: June 06, 2020, 03:57:12 PM
Well,  many of us have already appreciated the benefits of online gambling whether it be casino or even poker. But what device is better suit for it, mobile or  big screen monitor connected to PC?

I don't have much interested in Slots and the like. I'm more interested in Sports betting and some card games like Blackjack, Rummy, Poker etc. So, I prefer using a mobile device or iPad most of the time mainly because of the convenience to bet anytime you want. I rarely use my laptop to play some Poker and occasionally slots.

Agree on this matter - the mobile devices are not bad for betting. But should say that activity is a bit different from gambling. Betting, as I see it,  is based on the knowledge, it requires the access to multiple sources of information to make good judgement whereas gambling is  more of game of chance.

You can say that sports betting is more of about your skill and knowledge and less luck. But you can't say that in case of card games, they do need a certain level of skill but you need luck in your favour too or else you'll be dealt with trash cards. When it comes to card games both luck and skill are necessary. Playing purely luck-based games like dice, slots etc don't make much sense to me. I do go for luck-based sometimes, but I have only lost money in those Tongue On the contrary, I have made some bucks with cards games and sports bets. Guess I'm not a lucky person  Tongue So I stick with skill-based games
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] The Best Casino Promotions on: June 05, 2020, 05:26:37 PM
If I have to choose one among the three, I'll pick free spins. I prefer both free spins and bonus money, I generally don't have much interest in giveaways mostly because of privacy concerns. The why I pick free spins over bonus money is that with free spins I can get lucky to win big. While deposit bonus is big for bigger deposits and small for smaller deposits. But if it's a no deposit bonus, then it's a good choice.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you do think you can start betting in sportsbook again? on: June 05, 2020, 05:05:37 PM
Unlike most of you guys, I'm bet mostly on Cricket and I'm happy that I'll be able to watch some cricketing action between England and West Indies starting July 8 if everything goes as per the new schedule. So it's just 33 days to go for me  Tongue

418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what is your blackjack strategy when you have 12,14,16 Numbers in your hand? on: June 05, 2020, 05:27:52 AM
BTW can anybody tell me about insurance? when I should take the insurance? I don't understand this.

Not every site offers insurance but some do offer insurance. Insurance is a side bet which is offered only when the dealer's open card is an 'Ace'. Generally, insurance will be half of your original bet amount. So, if the dealer’s second card has a value of 10, the dealer makes blackjack and you will win the Insurance bet, but lose your original bet. If the dealer doesn't make blackjack, you'll lose your insurance bet and the original bet is decided as usual.

Unless you are counting cards in a real casino, don't take insurance because it's actually you placing an additional bet on the outcome of the dealer's card .ie. whether the dealer gets a blackjack or not.

It's good to see some cricketing action. But already some of the WI players like Bravo, Hetmeyer and Keemo Paul have refused to tour ENG  Sad We also don't know how many of the other ENG/WI players are not willing to play.
I don't see any specific reason in article. Is it because of pandemic or what? Well whatever the reasons, its big blow to Windies team as both Bravo and Hetmeyer are good cricketers. Still 1 month to go so they have enough time to rethink, let's hope they change their decision.
The exact reason for refusing to tour ENG is not known at the moment and yeah it will be a definite blow for WI as they don't have many good players now. We can only hope they would rethink their decisions. But if the pandemic is the reason behind their decision, I don't think they'll change their minds in the 1-month gap. The WI Board claim that the player's decision doesn't affect their future selection, so I just hope that they get a chance to take part in the T20 World Cup and not ignored because of their current decision.
