United lol! Well, I think that is indeed the problem with Premier League teams. They underestimate all the opponents from other leagues who are not champions. If they play Real Madrid or Barca or maybe Atletico, then sure, they would respect them. But meet Villareal, meet Real Sociedad, and then they think 3 points is already in the bag and easy.

United losing to Real Sociedad is one of the best game I got to watch this week. United fans were over confident in the game as they were hoping to thrash their visitors but reverse was the case. Erik Ten Hag didn't use the necessary players needed to start games but it's clear obvious, they lost their first game in the Europa League. They're not different from Chelsea, mocking Blues who lost their first champions league game away to Dinamo Zegreb, saying it's small team which blues needed to win. For United, they fail to right that impression and it affected them in the game. It was unexpected that United would lose. Because their performance was quite good in the last few matches. In this match, Ten Hag gave Ronaldo and Harry Maguire a chance to prove their mettle. But both players failed. Ronaldo and Maguire are unlikely to be retained by the Ten Hag in his squad. The EPL always gives surprises in every match. So it's hard to predict, but I'm full sure Liverpool will win. Moreover, they can play Nunez after getting a red card. The game between bayern and gladbach was a really entertaining one despite being dominated by bayern the score in the end was a draw bayern team started the game really good unlucky for them their goal was canceled after a var review and the next thing they were behind on the score sheet, they applied a really huge pressure especially on the second half with 15 shot on goal that half was really crazy if they had lost it would've been an unfair result.
At least Bayern Munich tried to hit the Mönchengladbach goal but goalkeeper Yann Sommer managed to save and anticipate all the shots that were in total until the match ended Bayern Munich gave at least thirty three shots to Mönchengladbach and a total of twenty shots on goal and possession was dominated with Bayern Munich so at least they tried to score a lot but only managed to score one because the goalkeeper was too strong. Polite's brilliant performance in goalkeeping from Monchengladbach in this match deserves thumbs up. I've seen it for the first time in a single game in the league this season with this many saves and obviously it's a good thing and he's the MVP in this game. It was a low scoring game and i was surprised to see that the pitch in UAE was green favoring the pace bowlers and both India and Pakistan bowlers bowled their heart out and even with the cramps and struggling with it Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took Pakistan closer to the match and the fielding was overall great even though there was a dropped chance of Virat Kohli which was a difficult one. India took the game to the last over and it was a great nail biter.
There is a proverb in cricket that "catch miss, match miss" and Pakistan suffered for that. In my opinion it was bowling pitch and bowlers of both teams take the advantages. Naseem Shah's performance was outstanding as a first match. I hope he will able to perform in such way around the tournament. It was predicted to be one of the most exciting matches of the Asia Cup and that's turned out in the same way. There is a lot of tension between the two teams. Hardik Pandya took the team out of the difficult situation and won at the end. It must be said that Pakistan made several mistakes that gave the opposition easy solutions although that was not easy but they get advantage. I didn't think the match would be so exciting even with a target of just 148 runs. India should have won this match very easily. But they couldn't do it. The two openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul did not play well. I would say Hardik Pandya's responsible and aggressive batting made India win. Pandya also bowled great. He got 3 wickets. |

Heard that the top bid was closed to $3 billion and it's just for 4 years.
ICC must be feeling lovey dovey after the final numbers and I'm sure the ICC office will get some early fat checks too as a bonus.
Their reserve price was $1.44 billion for 4-year cycle (2024-27) and $4 billion for the 8-year cycle (2024-31). ICC went with the 4-year deal, since it was more lucrative for them. Exact amount being paid by Disney-Star is not known, but the ICC guys were saying that it is close to $3 billion. So much more than what they were initially expecting. And more importantly, this is just for the Indian market. Media rights auction for US-UK markets will happen next, followed by rest of Asia. Just hope that some of that amount will trickle down to the associate boards. I feel bad for associate boards in advance. Now picture is more clear and it looks like ICC has achieved its target by organizing a close bid. Just look at the difference between winning bid and 2nd best bid. The difference is close to $2 Billion. Disney is rich but they won't be much happy after seeing the massive difference and fell into FOMO trap, time will tell if they overpaid or not. That's why one needs a transparent process at auction.  I still don't think that Disney overpaid. I think that money is put into the right hands. But obviously, if there was good enough transparency in the auction I don't think Disney actually would have bid that much money. But obviously, Disney is a very big company and they wouldn't probably even bother too much about paying this much money. And I would say that ICC went for the right deal to go for 4 years. |

It's hard for me to name the favorite in the AC Ajaccio - Lille match.
