361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Deep Onion on: October 11, 2017, 07:11:41 PM
Innovative Feature DeepVault Released
Introducing the DeepVault Enabled Wallet v1.3!

1. What is DeepVault?
DeepVault is a service allowing you to register a file's hash on the DeepOnion blockchain. This enables you or others to verify if a copy of the file is authentic and unaltered by comparing it to the original hash stored in the blockchain.

2. What is a typical use case for DeepVault?
A simple example: you download a new version of the DeepOnion wallet and wish to check if your download is identical to the Dev's release version. You can check this by using the DeepVault feature to see if
your copy's hash matches that of the Dev's release. This completely eliminates the possibility of using a compromised wallet distributed by malicious groups, protecting your onions from theft.

3. What is the owner address? Why do we need it?
The Owner address is a DeepOnion address belonging to the original person that uploaded the document. It
allows the original person to decide whether or not they will allow other people to verify the authenticity of the document. If it is a private document, then you may want to restrict verification to the Owner's wallet only.

4. Why can't I verify my file, I know it was uploaded to the DeepOnion blockchain?
It is possible that the owner of this file does not allow everyone to verify the document (see 3).

5. How much do you charge for using DeepVault? Where do these fees go?
When you register a file with DeepOnion blockchain, the system charges 1 ONION. All future verification is free.

The 1 ONION fee primarily goes to a fund address for future enhancement and support of this feature. A small portion is used as fee for related transactions. The fund address is DUyj8TeHTXwnsdy3AbsfBSye5jZRZ9DkH5.

6. Do you publish the source code for DeepVault?
Due to heavy piracy and the uncontrolled cloning without permission or crediting, in the altcoin domain, the Dev team has decided that the DeepVault code will remain temporarily closed-source. The code will eventually be released but there is no timeline determined at this point.

7. Any tutorials for DeepVault?

8. Is DeepVault available on Mac or Linux wallet?
No. For now the DeepVault feature is only available in Windows wallet. We will provide Mac or linux wallet with DeepOnion feature later

The updates for DeepOnion is not enough to keep the price of that coin at a level that will cause the coin to be worth anything.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what happen to all altcoin? on: October 11, 2017, 07:08:34 PM
pump and dumps and getting ready for the fork would be my guess.
You're right, that fork that might happen is going to cause a bunch of the altcoins to have different dramatic price changes.
363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICOs you suggest to November on: October 11, 2017, 01:50:19 PM
Check http://crassula.io - working business, with strong team and advisors.
Why the weird name for that coin? It seems like there's not enough coins that are being built that have names that allow people to remember easily.
364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what happen to all altcoin? on: October 11, 2017, 06:46:37 AM
why all red ?

look like all crpytocurrency is dying except for btc
I try to invest in a certain project if it has the right amount of features that has the people wanting to get more usage of the coin. For instance, Ethereum is one of the coins that feature a smart contract.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: PlusCoin ICO on: October 06, 2017, 11:17:29 PM
Looking to purchase pluscoin ICO. Can I participate if I'm a US citizen?
Don't do it. The people that are holding the ICO might have a verification process that will force people to get a KYC or something similar to that.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why invest in Litecoin on: October 06, 2017, 10:14:16 PM
Because it is a good, very good coin among another.

Widely accepted, fit for tiny/daily payment. And many more.
If you choose between ETH and LTC, then what is more promising?
I think the price is a little too high right now. At this point I would just purchase Bitcoin instead of Litecoin so I can make money on this stuff.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: alternative bitcoin on: October 06, 2017, 08:41:12 PM
which Best alternative bitcoin for long or shot holding ?
You can just store your Bitcoin somewhere that nobody can get into it and then you can have that money to use years from now. You could exchange it to Ethereum instead.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you find interesting ICO ? on: October 06, 2017, 08:31:37 PM
I usually find interesting ICOs on twitter, I follow a lot of traders and crypto investors. When you see many experienced people talking about or mentioning the same ICO, I suppose it will be interesting.
Twitter is how I find ICO's that have the price flexibility to move more than 20 times the starting price. Social media is how to get the information on 2017 coins.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you invest in an ICO on: October 06, 2017, 05:24:04 PM
For me, ICO is a good long term investment knowing that eth and other altcoin start from being ICO. The tokens starts from about $0.1 and can grew upto $100/coin for about a year or two and now thats promising for me. To know if the tokens will have a value in the future a read their white paper, I also know their market and what this token can do that will make it in demand just like in the case of bitcoin. Ofcourse this type of investment is risky but I see it, it is really rewarding after you gain from it.
Dude, you can make so much money on Ethereum right now. Whales and devs are collecting Ethereum so they can get Rich.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Viberate] VIB token starts trading on LiveCoin.net tomorrow, October 6 on: October 06, 2017, 04:58:25 PM
I have not done my research about this ICO, but rasing $12m in just 5 minutes is great achievement, I can see many paid advertisements on twitter, the hype is high.
That's quite a bit of money to be running around with!
I am going to invest in this coin once I have more BTC.

I am choosing Ethereum for my second choice.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW TO SPOT A WINNING ICO on: October 05, 2017, 09:37:51 PM
For me the winning combination would be - A great idea which has real life use case added with a great team with proven track record with VC backing and reputed names associated as advisors. Most importantly, a realistic hardcap.
Money in high volumes does not always lead to a successful project. There's many projects on here that listed then withered away over time.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: eBTC doing well!! on: October 05, 2017, 08:14:49 PM
I just bought an airdrop bag from a weak hand after the distribution and I am going to hold. I think it has some potential to grow up in the next couple on months. The community growed up very fast and they are really dedicated! The strong community will help to make eBTC popular! Have a look at their telegram, theyre very active and already 800 Member: https://t.me/joinEBTC. Channel was created at 30th September!
I waited a little too long because the price is nowhere near the price that I wanted to invest at. Oh well, I guess I will have to purchase it sometime this weak if I really want it.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ICO to invest in? on: October 05, 2017, 07:57:14 PM
What are some characteristics of a good ICO?
If you visit their announcement thread and notice that it does not have any negative ratings then they are likely to last a while.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin now you think had a good future on: September 27, 2017, 10:50:26 PM
ETH for me, because it is a top cryptos behind bitcoin and bcc coin, it is worth on investment and have a future just like bitcoin value before that suddenly pump to the highest rate and it will also happen to eth.
The coin did have a nice price growth, I am going to invest in it later because I think that the price will get larger when the price of BTC increases. If Litecoin went down to $1 then I would purchase it right now, easily.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Portofolio question? on: September 27, 2017, 10:48:58 PM
So I'm using Blockfolio right now, but I'd like to have my portofolio split up into a pie chart that shows the actual percentages I'm holding of each coin. Is this possible, and if so how do i do it?

If not, can you recommend and app which does this? Also maybe one here i can input a API at it tracks my trades?7

Much obliged
If you can't find your answer to the issue that you're having then you might want to try using Microsoft Excel. It will be a lot of searching and video watching though you could get it done with that.
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are trading bots slow death for altcoins? on: September 27, 2017, 10:35:17 PM
Lately I've been trading a lot and I've had a chance to watch how the bots work.  It's really annoying.  But aside from that, I'm starting to feel like they, long term, leech value out of the coins and essentially hand it to the exchanges and bot operators.

They all work with the same basic premise: Track the exponential moving average, the volume of trades, and when it goes beyond the middle range (right on the line), either buy or sell under certain conditions.

Which sounds reasonable enough so far, if it's just the same thing a person could do, why not let a bot do it, right?

Here's why I feel they're a toxic component to the trading process:

1) They don't care at all about what the coin is about, it's fundamentals, management, nothing other than it's EMA score.  They would literally trade dog turds around if the market was volatile enough.

2) They cut humans out of the process unless the humans don't mind getting the short end of the stick.  The only way to get your trades in on a bot-infested coin is to either take current market value or keep your offer so close to it that you might as well have.  If you try to buy too far below a coin value, they make an offer 1 sat higher than yours.  If you try to sell too far above coin value, they make an offer 1 sat lower than yours.  By the time you get your trade in, the price has already changed enough that it's probably not a good trade anymore.

3) They work against natural market dynamics.  In a botless world, the actions of a coin's team and the fundamental laws of supply and demand dictate a coins value.  But in the bot's world, the only thing that matters is 'is it high' or 'is it low' (and, a bit, what is the current volume).  So if a great coin gets good news (like GEO did recently), and as soon as the coin starts to climb a bunch of people start selling... that's why.  The price rose enough to make it profitable to sell, so they will.  Which then drives the value down until it's back in EMA range.  Bots are fundamentally incapable of HODLing.  That's not what they're there for.  And if this reaction drives value down enough to spook human investors into selling, eventually the value goes down below EMA and the bots will buy the coins right back to repeat the cycle again in a moment.

This cycle ultimately removes volatility from a coin, while constantly edging it downwards.  I think the steady downwards trend is because of trading fees, but maybe it's because humans eventually get fed up and leave.  I'm not sure.

So... that's my rant about why bot's are screwing up crypto exchanges.  Thoughts on this?  Possible solutions or strategies for mitigating these effects?

I've been giving some thought to programming a "brainless" bot that just takes commands from me as to what trades I want to make, and then it does the 1 sat snipe BS the actual bots do, to make sure my trade has a better chance of happening.  But otherwise, it wouldn't make any decisions and it wouldn't have an autopilot.   Maybe that's what's needed?  It feels like a cheap trick that edges out other humans from the process so I'm reluctant to take those steps... but I want my trades to be successful so that has to take priority.

Here's an example of a trading bot ("gunbot") along with detailed descriptions of how it works:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1715214.0
I am only a trader so I don't like to have bots making automatic trades, they might go away soon.
If I was a project owner then I would use a Bot for testing purposes.

Many coins showed videos and posted videos of people making Vlogs about their project though their projects ended in the dumps. Why won't the Developer make an interview video with his face showing and displaying his work instead of screen capturing his Desktop Monitor?
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if all coins disappear?? on: September 26, 2017, 07:23:58 PM
impossible but for the sake of the thread all we can do is to move on with our lives, look for something else that we can earn with.
but that is so sad for those traders, investors and coin user, it's like you woke up and your girl is missing Sad
Same, I wouldn't really care. If it all ends then I would say "It's been fun".
The people that spend hours on here might go somewhere else.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the next mainstream Domain Name System? on: September 26, 2017, 06:48:29 PM
There curently several projects working on decentralised DNS.

Which of them have a chance to gain mass adoption and popularity?
How is cybersquatting / domaining 2.0 going now?
Any secondary market already exist? Auctions like sedo.com for DDNS names?
Wouldn't the ICANN have to get involved with that and submit nodes to the network? Sounds like a whole bunch of work. Unles your are only participate in auctions.
380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IfYouCoin.Com Check how much money you would have if you invested in CryptoCoins on: September 25, 2017, 04:39:17 PM
Hi, I would like to show the community my first Blockchain-related website:

https://ifyoucoin.com

It is a tool to check how much money you would have had if you invested in Crypto-Coins at a specific date.

It is a simple idea that came to me when I realized that I always wondered why in the world didn't I get into Bitcoin, even though I knew about it quite early(2011).

And I had a lot of conversations with my friends and showed them on a laptop how much money I could have had, but I don't.
Browsing different websites, and looking at charts and prices and then opened a calculator and amaze/frustrate myself.

So maybe you want to amaze or frustrate yourself or your friends Smiley

Please let me know here what you think about the site in general and also what I could change or add or if you have questions.

I will try to answer all of you.

Thank you
The website runs fast, nice job.
One thing that I would change is the background image, it's a little too plain.
