Says the guy who has his bitcoin forcibly parked on the exchange. While I get your point, the fact remains they could've gone about this 200 other ways, and yet they haven't. Ask yourself, why would someone pick up a site which has one of the worst reputations right now, and put money into it, actually believing they can turn the reputation around? They wouldn't, not anyone with sense. Speculation: They could use it to skim off the top though, and all they have to do is keep it online and act like they're replenishing the lost money. |

Did they replace every single lost coin? Or just put a new wallet up? Because the latter doesn't pay back the hundreds of thousands of dollars gone dry.

Yeah, that is one problem with this system.
Anyone can stock up for awhile, jack the price up, and clean the store out.
There is not enough liquidity to prevent this. Right now Toxics are going for 6 million and there are only 4 left.
You can prevent this by putting in a safeguard where the price cannot change more than so much every day. This way if the price is pumped up it will take a few days before the price climbs to meet this level.
The pricing algorithm I suggested to the team included a simple method do protect against this exact situation. As usual, whomever is in charge seemed to ignore the suggestion. The developers are far more dedicated to this than the owner, at least based on the fruits of everything so far. To ignore lots of good input from many people is just beyond suicide. |

Only a few days left till 4/20... I can't wait to see what's in store, the next big leap for this project. One thing is for sure.. I wouldn't want to be without a lot of potcoin now, because it's going to be even more expensive after that day!
Buy and/or mine, and then hold it. This is a longhaul coin with an excellent real-world purpose. If it's 1400satoshi, buy it. If it's 2500satoshi, buy it.. this is a great coin!

I'd hope it's a cold wallet thing and not a situation where they're doing fractional banking.. Cryptsy is one of the few exchanges which, so far, has been 'decent' to work with.

Difficulty comes as a result of it, but the actual hashrate has been fluctuating madly.

Advertising.. getting the business flow going. That should be the only priority until the value of the coin starts going up. More exchanges will just open up more doors to people to dump the coin.
I'm not sure if you do this already, but it may even be beneficial to show a public account of how many cards were sold, when, how much (in USD, maybe even show overall savings) and what they were. This way people hit the site and right away see "wow, BobLover9000 saved 19% by using GPUC to buy his MaxCard5000".
Immediate value up front.

I think that is a good sign. The cost of 1k satoshi at the start it is good.

To get some answers thats all, if dude is out, and not going to bother, let us know so we can go about our business and put the coin into the graveyard. You realize you'd make more money mining another coin for profit, than it would cost in gas to do that? If you're that concerned, I suggest moving to a profitable coin. Update:
This last week has had my attention drawn quite away from this coin, as some important real world issues have come into light. It's been suggested many times that you hire someone or several folks to handle the bulk, and let you simply oversee. Your lack of web attention--regardless of the altruistic reasons--has severely damaged the coin's critical launch evaluation, which is typically the first 30 days. Mintpal:
My mining rig (a measly 5Mh) is currently dumping all it's profit into the Mintpal vote and I used the last of the BTC left over No worthwhile coin should have to buy votes to get on an exchange. Have you talked to Vern at Cryptsy? Exchange aside, the frontend needs sales and flow. |

I don`t really understand. The net hashrate is 1Gh\s+. But all the pools that listed here are max ~100Mh\s. Who is mining it? The dev?
That, and/or private pools and solo miners. Edit: Honestly looking at it, it's bouncing around. Around 0100 this morning it was 90mh. It was 1.3GH a few moments ago. Now it's down to 60mh. I'd say someone is turning on/off their farm and playing with the coin. |

Potcoin is also a good example of what marketing and active development can do to a coin's value. Not to mention if you keep track of market trends, Potcoin is the only one which is really shining right now.

People have vocally expressed problems that need to be addressed with the business. These are things that are seriously crippling the business. The owner does not listen. Either he is arrogant or just does not care.
For example, despite the community practically unanimously agreeing that the GPUCoin store needed a link to an information page describing how people obtain the coins there remains no page.
Despite the strong vocal expression by the community that they want more updates, there remains very few updates. It took days after the sale, while people actively expressed concern, for an update to be posted with regards to the restocking of the store.
There remains very little attempt to market the store or the coin.
Lots of truth here. I believe in all honesty, we are seeing GPUC's true "floor" right now. It was suggested early on that the first few rounds of sales be priced at a slight loss to the company, which would've helped bolster and stabilize the price. |

Hope isn't a plan though. What tangible reason would there be for increased value? I'm basing my viewpoint on several other coins, which did the same thing you guys are proposing, and they're now in the toilets.
The supply of GPUs is there. The supply of GPUC is there. There's no demand to buy GPUC from fiat to get the GPUs (aka, non-gpuc-miners). There is a demand for the gpuc-miners to get the GPUs but they can't because it'll take more to mine than to simply buy with BTC.
Lowering block value hurts the people you're trying to help. It doesn't affect folks who would just buy from fiat.

So, devil's advocate here, you lower the reward and cause synthetic inflation of value. What happens a week later when people trade it back down to where it's at now?
Now you're making even fewer coins for the same value, resulting in higher overhead for miners, and longer time to buy a card.
