So Gridcoin as a team is no more blacklisted right ? We can get bbp and Gdc all together ?

Correct.

Masternode owners: 3 days left to vote for superblock proposals.

That's fair but from what I understand POG will be highly unpredictable on the rewards (according to Rob on the other forum), which also defeats the purpose of having a pool (for predictability).

Regarding the stake of PODC....wouldn't it be simpler to just remove that stake requirement then if that is an issue? (I personally like that stake requirement)

If we removed the stake requirement alone, it would remove 1 piece from the puzzle, but would leave all the rest of the complexity in place.

I will also add that this potential massive increase of coins being liquidated every month (from the foundation tithe) worries me as an investor.

Fair point, and I agree this is a concern,   though it could be spread around the month better I think than the current monthly cycle.

I appreciate the discussion and concerns,   better to work through them now than after a change is made.

I'm just getting troubled with the actual value proposition of the new algorithm to be honest.

Was it meant as a way to make mining easier?
I don't think it does that and would even say that it would be more troublesome to support and help people having questions about it. If I want to, I can easily mine just fine by just doing heat mining?

Was it to have more coins directed to the foundation? This seems to be an issue with the value of the coin itself. Putting a bigger bucket to fix a leak is only a temporary solution.

The only thing it seems to add is having "pool mining" built in the coin but for what purpose? I don't need to do pool mining with PODC to get something (that is more or less predictable) and setting up Purepool for heat mining seems simple enough?

Maybe you can help me understand what the value proposition for this new algorithm is?
Your thoughts are fair.

Yes it was intended to make mining easier, (launch wallet and enable).  The rewards should prove to be fairly predictable over time.

The hope on the foundation side to add more support for the orphans, in short and long term.  I don't disagree that our main issue is cost, this will still be a problem but long-term after things recover, it would potentially increase our support base.

PODC requires a stake, and requires a fair amount of setup up front.   There have been many complaints and questions/concerns/comments about PODC difficulty.

POG would have no stake, (just a donation), no external setup.

I spent time reading the posts on the other forum and frankly, the system seems way more complicated and difficult to explain to newcomers than what is currently in place, and more prone to mistakes...

As an example, I can see people "tithing" and wondering why they have not been paid for days, or why they are only getting X amount, etc. Why did I send X amount to the foundation when I only wanted to send Y amount. Can I get it back? The wallet stole my BBP by sending my money to this address...etc.

I think addressing and answering these questions in a satisfactory way will be difficult.

Difficult doesn't mean not worthwhile.  I would like to give it a chance. ..

Well I was just comparing it to PODC as this is what was the reason for replacing it.

Fair point,  I think we can get it to a point where it's clearer, but it is a good challenge to see if we can explain it prior to people seeing it.

tithe_weight   Huh Huh Huh

Tithed to the Orphan foundation from the wallets internal pool reward system. =  will be only 1 pool or more pools?

wtf is tithes? who using this shit words?

Let us assume we had 1000 participating miners, who tithed 100,000 BBP total this day.
tithed bbp?

that description is horrible again  Roll Eyes

im asked few ppl from our nuclear power plant= engineers, nuclear physicists, supervisors and all told=BBP is waste of time= support any gypsies is waste of time .... use your € for your family and friend

nobody understand new way=classic

this is easy coin?  Cry Cry

bye

Please, instead of just complaining lets work to make it more clear,  I think it could succeed if you do this instead.

for this purpose, tithe = donate.

There will be no web-based (centralized) pools.   In the client it will be part of a pool

Wow, once again your language shows the true color of your mindset and obviously also a lot of other SVK guys. I think it would spare the rest of this community (and also you guys) a lot of trouble and nerve-wrecking if you would just sell and wave this coin goodbye. Since you are mining without any electricity cost, every other CPU coin should be "profitable" for you as well ...

btt: Unfortunately I currently don't have time to read into the POG thing, but it sounds quite interesting. I'll definitely check it out later this week.

One more question regarding the Sancs: How often are payouts expected? My calculation was simply 394MN/205blocks/day = 2 days (between payments). Does that sound right?

I try to work with him, i'm not sure how many of them are there but frankly we need users Smiley

Sanc payout is about every 2 days, you are correct.

Proof Of Giving - Simplified

https://wiki.biblepay.org/Proof-of-Giving-for-Beginners

Could you guys review this and let us know if it is any easier to understand?

We're still talking about it over on the BBP forums

Shorty:
I replied to you on discord,  you should be in the next block payment it was a timing issue.

Looking to get the PODC Update script to show this as well, thanks for supporting BBP Smiley

What are the restrictions for WCG unbanked?

Same as Rosetta, must have only ARM traffic.

Visit this, and enter your CPID it will tell you if you have any issues.

tiers

Good synonym you used. I honestly think the word "tranche" should be replaced with "tier" if we want easier understanding for newcomers. "Tranche" is a scary word and "tier" is kind of attractive in the sense of a game or a competition.

And "tithe" definition is: one tenth of annual produce or earnings, formerly taken as a tax for the support of the Church and clergy. Old English - tēotha (adjective in the ordinal sense ‘tenth’).

But the givings are certainly not a "tenth" of anything, so maybe a better word would be "contribution" or something like that?

I know the original words are religious-y, which is more in line with BiblePay, but I think they're also off-putting.

In our sense tithe could = donation ...

Historically a tithe has been at least 25% of income, but they often gave more than that out of generosity, not obligation.

Thanks.

In case we have POG what will be the sitution with Orphan budget? Budget for Orphans will be created only from POG? Or POG plus proposals? If the orphan budget will be created from POG and we can use monthly superblock budget for IT and PR in that case Im 100% for POG.

I did ask this question, and assuming we can satisfy the orphan budget through just POG, that would open up the monthly budget for other uses potentially.

I hope BBP team can develop some utility for BBP than the new way of mining and the new will challenge both old and new miner. Sorry, my personal see the unique mining idea not help us any and we change too much that is not effectively return for BBP. Everybody tired of the changing please focus to the utility for Christian Comuinity, Charity Org, Investor and Miner also.

Thanks Thesnat, me and everyone appreciate your exist for BBP and we all want hearing your thought also.

I've had some back and forth with Rob on this and generally speaking I like the POG Concept.

I do agree there is still a complexity and an unknown,  and trying to explain it to folks even here has proved to be more difficult than I had originally thought..

I'm not sure what the right answer is...   Though I'm starting to lean more towards simplifying PODC...

I don't want to alienate existing users, and am aware we need to provide a cleaner way for new users to get involved..   Let's keep the discussion going and see where we end up.

All these questions/concerns/thoughts are helpful overall, and I value all your input as well!

thesnat21 give us example: cos this is worse than control a nuclear power plant ... damn it

where is all cmds for debug window?

when was monthly superblock? i see ROB made next new 7 masternodes from monthly superblock rewards...... this coin is centralized 1 person= ROB ..... who controling rewards for PROPOSALs?

its insane

im still saying..... few months we must to forgot on orphans....... all superblock BBP must go to profi ppl= advisors .... its sick when somebody who ran this coin dont have futureline-system for coin and still changing rules= its sick  Huh

You can vote on keeping PODC in place if you're more comfortable with it...

As for the orphans,  a lot of the superblock vote is going to bloom it seems this time around,  I think we are still above 10% of the monthly block.

I know the August superblock seemed to go to Masternodes, but Rob sold his own funds to cover the orphan budget, then got reimbursed...   Going forward I believe he agreed to keep them separate I have not monitored this.

The proposal rewards are given to the proposals voted in,  if you have a masternode you should vote! Smiley

New Poll:

Help set the direction of BiblePay!  Which (if any) mining option should we work towards?

https://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=323.0

Thanks. Its hard to vote when we dont now much about POG. Yesterday here was request to explain this with simplier English how it will work.

Proof of Giving requires users to "give" to the orphan foundation,  and based on how much will put you in different mining "tiers"

Each tier will have a higher block reward (Money from PODC is moved into Block Rewards).   The "tier" mining reward is split  20% to miner that found the block,  80% to all in the tier.

Essentially you are joining a 20/80 pool,  each "Tier" has a mining advantage on certain blocks (details being hashed out,  if all others sleep during those or not).

There is some question/answers in this thread as well:
https://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=319.0

Hopefully this helps,  if not let me know and i'll try again Smiley

158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Biblepay BBP Community Discussion Thread on: November 21, 2018, 08:55:46 PM
I'll still lurk. In retrospect, the error was mine. I took the term community-driven to mean the community decides, not the community does the legwork for the monarch.

There are some really interesting projects out there, with everyone pushing in the same direction, that are actually increasing in market value and trading volume despite the bear market. So I know it can be done, if there's clarity.

Here's hoping BBP will become one of those, with a better use case and more internal cohesion. Best of the best of luck.

To be fair,  there is a limit to available time..  So those with more people working towards a goal will have better luck finding it.

159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Biblepay BBP Community Discussion Thread on: November 21, 2018, 04:18:54 PM
Cool stuff. You can't know ahead of time if it will get used, but just making the effort is good. I'm going to be taking a step back from this project for a bit and let some of the dust settle. It's a little too dramatic for my taste, and there are other projects to work on without so much contention.

Understandable, don't forget us though Smiley

Hi Everyone,

I have bought a considerable amount of BBP at c-cex, but since I requested a withdrawal the server went down for about 5 minutes I think, then it showed maintenance, and now it shows maintenance for BBP. It this normal? What's going on. :S

Withdrawal is not shown in history either, still says I have the coins in my BBP wallet.

Best Regards,

Mart1250

Unfortunately you would need to contact the C-CEX support,  there have been no major changes/issues as of late so i'm not sure why they would be having issues.
