Hi everyone,

for a couple of days I'm trying to build a Ubuntu 18.04 Package via Launchpad, but it fails every time.
My local builds work, but Launchpad can't create a package.

I looked into the build log, but can't identify the reason why it fails:
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/370942292/buildlog_ubuntu-bionic-amd64.biblepay_20180519122901-bionic1_BUILDING.txt.gz

Indeed, I see the warnings and the failed message at the bottom, but why does it happen? Smiley

This is related to using newer than openssl 1.0.2
Code:
wallet/crypter.cpp: In function ‘bool BibleEncrypt(std::vector<unsigned char>, std::vector<unsigned char>&)’:
wallet/crypter.cpp:196:17: error: aggregate ‘EVP_CIPHER_CTX ctx’ has incomplete type and cannot be defined
  EVP_CIPHER_CTX ctx;
                 ^~~
wallet/crypter.cpp: In function ‘bool BibleDecrypt(const std::vector<unsigned char>&, std::vector<unsigned char>&)’:
wallet/crypter.cpp:214:20: error: aggregate ‘EVP_CIPHER_CTX ctx’ has incomplete type and cannot be defined
     EVP_CIPHER_CTX ctx;

Newer ubuntu versions jump to 1.1 I believe, the types are declared for 1.0.2 only.   I adjusted the code on my instance to compile but Rob warned its foolish ...  I have not done any long-term testing on it however.

If it hasn't been deleted, I posted the edits required for it to compile on the newer ubuntu a while back.

Hey Lich! Smiley

Thank you for the heads up on the explorer, seems like BiblePay crashes randomly every few weeks,
(Anyone know how I can automate it to restart Biblepay if BiblePay crashes and to delete the explorer/tmp/index.pid file as well?)
Explorer is updated now

I've been thinking on this for a project I have going on..

I'm going to write a shell script (when I can get to it) that checks the status of the daemon and will restart it if/when it fails.  I'll post it here when i'm done.

Amazing news!

"INCREDIBLE NEWS!
All 30 Compassion assisted children missing after Kenya's dam collapse have been found alive. Praise God! We are so grateful for your prayers and support. Please continue to pray for provision, strength and comfort.
__
Of our 338 children in the area, 42 have been seriously impacted. These children have lost either parents or siblings, their home, their parent's livelihood and income, or are badly injured. They need urgent support. Your gift today can help our local church partners to respond to situations like this one: http://cmpsn.co/kenyacrisis"

Thank you so much for your prayers.

Awesome! God is good!   These kids and this village will still need a lot of prayer as they continue to deal with the after-effects of this ordeal.

Cryptobridge, my 2 cents:

I was sceptical at first simply because the volume is just OK (although more than we have now). But then I checked their roadmap!

In the next few months they are planning to add support for:

Etherium
ERC 20 tokens (Huge market)
Omni tokens (Including USDT!)
Cryptonote (Like Monero)

And others.

I am amazed that they are doing ~2 million USD worth of daily volume without all of these coins (especially Etherium + ERC20 support). In my opinion, they will at least double their volume in the next few months. Probably closer to 5x I am guessing.

And who knows from there.

I think getting listed on there now is a great idea. I am not sure how easy the exchange will be to use for non-technically minded people. So we should still keep trying to get on other exchanges that are more easy to use (NextExchange, I am still hoping for).

My issue with cryptobridge is the crazy fees for most coins.  I think this is managed by the individual coin nodes/owners.  I think I have some funds stuck in there because I cannot afford to withdraw, hopefully this gets better.

I've got an enhancement request - but I won't enter a bug on Github, because it clearly isn't one.

I love the prayer text in the wallet, which is a great reminder. However, when I'm actually having prayer time, it's a little hard to get a list of all the things, and I could conceivably forget one. Is there a way already to dump out the prayer requests, say from the last 7-10 days? Or maybe to click the prayer request text and get the next one in the list? I feel like I could be more effective with a way to get a series of them at once or quickly peruse them.

In debug window do : exec testprayers

This is the best way I can find for now...  I have a few other ideas but i'm not ready to implement them yet.

It would be nice to have the list in the wallet,  possible future request.

What config change do I need if I want to switch over to the testnet?

Difficulty per block changes based on how quickly the block is solved, network hash rate, etc. This is all to keep interval between blocks as consistent as possible. Subsidy is base block reward plus transaction fees. Of course, your total block payout will change. Maybe you can point to specifics but I'm NOT seeing a threat from botnets or any issues between weekday vs weekend, day vs evening, etc.

I get that,  i'm looking into mining some of the block data to see.  Perhap's i'm imagining things?  wouldn't be the first time.  I've been watching purepool and the daily block wins vs 1 day mined.   It seems to have dropped from 40k-ish earned to 20k.

It doesn't mean much I suppose, other than solo-miners taking over?

I'll sit back and watch some more Smiley

Important, prayers needed.

"URGENT PRAYER REQUEST
On Friday a dam burst in Solai, western Kenya, sending a wall of water 1.5 metres high and 500 metres wide towards the homes below. 30 Compassion assisted children remain missing. Please join us in praying that each one will be found safe, for provision to support the urgent needs of affected families, and for peace and comfort for those who have lost loved ones. As always, if your sponsored child has been directly affected, we will contact you as soon as we have information. Thank you so much. Your prayers make a difference!"

Praying, for the children and the rest involved.

Seems like someone is doing this only during weekdays oddly.. Difficulty shot back up to 25k+ on POBH mining, it seems to settle/drop over the weekend though

How do you get this information? I look at the charts and while difficulty fluctuates, the Dark Gravity Well (DGW) re-adjusts every block depending on hash rate and how quickly the blocks are found. I'm not really any noticeable spikes that says the difficulty has changed much. It looks very smooth to me.

Still, I'm curious how to get difficulty per block (podc & pow), so I can create my own ranges instead just pool.biblepay.org

I watch the wallet as the day goes on .. lol
Most often it seems to be <10k .. but occasionally I see spikes to 15k  today I saw 45k at one point.

Also, watching block rewards diminish,  I earned a block at 350 subsidy, while most average closer to 500.

Does anyone have any idea how to protect the wallet with 2FA or multi-factor authentication, not necessarily like Google Authenticator, but like a multisig wallet in Bitcoin? I would do 2-of-2, so that for sending BBP I need a second key with which I can sign a tx on an offline computer and then return it to the online computer to broadcast it.

I imagine it would take some work...  Currently the PODC unlock unlocks it for sending funds as well ..

I didnt see any apology yet over here when Slovakia made up a tall tale that I stole the orphan funds the second month we existed- and then I proved that I am not the thief here; however, on the electric comment: it was a public comment on discord that Slovakia mines with stolen electricity.

Here's something for you to read - does this look like it comes from Satan? :
https://wiki.biblepay.org/Become_Zealous_for_Christ

Btw, your comments are mean spirited.

When grudges are held, only the ones holding the grudges will suffer.  I learned this a few years back.

Any attack on someones character shouldn't be done.  or at least shouldn't be done in a public forum, you reminded me of that..

This thread is peppered with an abomination of thought and discord.   It needs to stop from all sides.

As I tried to say last month ...

Let's let the rule of this thread, and this project be :  Only post things that the orphan's should be able to read and learn from.

I have a .dat wallet with some coins in it that I used with very old wallet version. I tried it with new wallets and it results in a crash. Can someone please advice how to resolve this issue? Try to export priv keys using the old version wallet? I ask because maybe there are ppl who solved such issues succesfully and that can share a solution.

Do you know what version?

I would say incremental upgrades until you get to the current one.

I had a few instances of this on your pool as well. (doing further testing)

this header was 208kb

Interesting.. this block hex is larger than the Debug window allows. ..   testing on the cli client to see if it has the same problem.

Can I change my PODC payment address?

How does the PODCUpdate pick the address to use, and can this be changed?
