I did update to 1.1.3.8c but the wallet never starts. It's been sitting for more than two and a half hours at "Loading block index".
Id did the wallet cleanup process after I installed the latest.
Last line in debug.log is: 2018-07-04 10:58:09 LoadBlockIndexGuts 1530701889.000000 2018-07-04 12:37:26
Should I just revert to 1.1.3.7 for now?
The wallet seems to consume up to about 1,7GB of memory before going back down to about 1GB, and just going in circles with that.
If you had it running during the superblock bug, then the index can be corrupted. if you delete the chainstate and blocks folders in your data dir, let it re-build them. this will take care of it. If it's your main wallet, make sure to re-start the client after it has synced so podcupdates work again. |

Working on a fix to the main screen transaction list. Single question: Do you want to see PODC Updates on the "recent transactions" list? I'm thinking yes, it would help ensure it shows by default.. but I wouldn't want to spam anyone either  |

LOL, I just discovered this too and I think this is the simple solution to my "cosmetic" problem described above. All the transactions I was missing were PODC related. I just sent some BBP from one wallet to another and it immediately shows up under "recent transactions".
But indeed it would be nice if the PODC payments would be re-added to the overview.

But indeed it would be nice if the PODC payments would be re-added to the overview. The idea of the percentage table in "exec totalrac" is very nice, but unfortunately it shows the "wannabe" percentages and not the "actually-being-implemented" percentages resulting in misleading messages when you are in the range of factor >18. This is unlucky and should be adjusted to the levels that are currently in place. Alternatively it would be of course possible to adjust the levels on the blockchain with the next mandatory.  I get that... perhaps we can tweak it a bit to show actual alongside the "safety" margin |

Woah we got to PODC block 55555 solved it
and then jumped through 55556 to 55612 super fast! like 5-6 minutes!
I think because of the 2days taken for the superblock, the algo adjusts the incoming blocks to try and "catch up" this means the difficulty for the backed-up blocks was extremely low. We should more or less be on track now |

Is this from Proof of Work (PoW (Heat)) Mining? Isnt heat mining a bit more dangerous because you have to copy your same wallet.dat to all your machines? (and then you have to set utxooverride=-1 on all the additional PoW miners so they do not send PODC Updates) (because in order to PoW mine you still have to do a little Proof of Distributed Computing (PODC (Research)) mining) == Rosetta@Home is dominated by BBP and Onii-chan https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/team_members.php?teamid=15044&sort_by=expavg_credit&offset=0Yes POBH/Heat Mining.. In theory it is, but someone who has a large mining farm and idle cpu's isn't in much danger.. the fact that they empty the wallets routinely helps (utxo doesn't seem to go above 5-6k). but really, if you own the heat-mining, you can affect the network negatively. I won't assume ill intentions, but when the superblock hits and all POBH mining is in backup mode, this could lead to trouble. I wonder if this is why there were so many orphan blocks/mini splits last time? |
