I'm having the same issue also.  Running one wallet.  I have 2.8M BBP coins and a sanctuary I just brought online this past Sunday.  Ever since the sanctuary came online (coincidence?) my wallet stopped sending out PODC updates.  My UTXOWeight remains at 0 (zero) and I've stopped receiving rewards the past 2 days.

I tried running this command:  exec podcupdate true

and it comes back with the following response:

17:00:53 exec podcupdate true
17:01:09
{
  "Command": "podcupdate",
"PODCUpdate": "Unable to locate enough unlocked funds not equal to 1,550,001 biblepay."
}

Even with the 1.55M BBP locked up I still have 1.3M BBP unlocked which is more than enough to still receive 100% rewards.

There are a lot of people on the superblock list that now have zero magnitude, yet have RAC and WCGRAC.  I think this problem involves many people.

What do we do???

Which version client are you running?
There was an issue in the past with that error message, if it is the 1.1.5.9 version, we can do some debugging.

I am running 1.1.5.9

thanks, researching.

Edit: sent you a PM, please respond when you have a moment.  I need some more info that's better not to share publicly Smiley

Since October 26th I haven't received any PODC payments either.
I'm running only one wallet and that's running 24/7.
My BOINC machine is running fine and reporting task completions just fine.

Anyone here who knows what could be the problem?

please provide your CPID, PM or here so we can research.

Hello,

I haven't receive any PODC payment since 29th October. I have Task weight 100 and Magnitude 3.71
Is there any problem?
I have windows version 1.1.5.9.

"Command": "getboincinfo",
  "CPID": "fa5062d1c29baf2e298b674f40ee59b7",

if you run this RPC command:

exec utxoreport fa5062d1c29baf2e298b674f40ee59b7

You will see some tiny updates (450-500bbp) posted alongside the normal ones.

You must have 2 or more wallets that are doing PODC updates, on the second edit biblepay.conf and add the line:

utxooverride=-1

Is there a problem with the main pool right now? It seems to me that it always shows the same information for hours now and it also hasn't found a single block today.

Does this have anything to do with the block chain being frozen for many hours yesterday?

Unlikely, but possible I suppose?

My QT Wallet just asked me for my PoDC auto unlock password.

I clicked cancel and my debug.log is filled with this:

ERROR: Found chain with blocks marked invalid
2018-11-01 01:05:59 ERROR: AcceptBlockHeader: block is marked invalid
2018-11-01 01:05:59 ERROR: invalid header received 0cee3ade9c214dc9e7a34749a4ce5e41beecc1e295e9d5ae67c85ceefb6da1d8
2018-11-01 01:06:01

Then the block resyncs from 16-17 weeks back?

I know this is Halloween and all, but what kind of witchcraft is this?
This is more likely what happened to the pool, but I'm only speculating.

Just got an e-mail from Rob, apparently the main pool was down for 24hrs, it is back up..  Sorry for the trouble!

P. S.: Thank you thesnat and tmike for stepping up and doing great work which cannot be appreciated enough! Reading through the last couple of days of this thread really brings up hope again for this coin. God bless your community work and the work of all the devs!

Thanks, we appreciate it, and is what we were going for.

Admittedly it's been rather quite as well ..  I hope we can get some more positive activity going on

Additional updates:
  • MIP now has full github access as our second dev
  • forum.biblepay.org ownership has transferred to Thesnat21, some structure changes have been implemented.

I don't want to understate the importance of these..

Having a second dev with access to github is a huge step towards decentralization.

and now "forum.biblepay.org" is no longer run by Rob.
We are looking to build a better community there, and will be having some more in-depth discussions on that forum than we can really do here, please join us!

Why so difficult answer??

Simple one is: NO, you dont need to install wallet in every computer, one running wallet is enough.

Headache messing with my verbal output ...  thanks for simplifying.

Thanks. I don't know which web stats would need to be updated or if WCG can provide the real-time info needed.

Thanks for that,  I was aware of these stats but was hoping for something smaller and directed (per user)

Guy, do i have to install wallet in every PC that is running BOINC for PODC rewards ?
I currently have my main PC with boinc/biblepaycore running fine and getting paiement. But in my other PC i just setup BOINC with my rosetta/wcg account.
Thanks

No, only on a single pc.

I am a core dev on Gridcoin, and I can categorically say that the lead Gridcoin dev's post is absolutely right. Rob departed on amicable terms and remains on friendly terms. His vision for Gridcoin was simply different than the community's. Rob wanted to take Gridcoin in the direction of DASH masternodes, whereas the rest of the community wanted to keep Gridcoin based on Bitcoin's core code, bringing it up to date with the current bitcoin core, and implementing new features in accordance with the Gridcoin 4.0 roadmap. We are executing on this roadmap.

Thanks for the info. So Rob/biblepay is the same Rob referenced in Wikipedia's Gridcoin article?

"Gridcoin was officially launched October 16, 2013 by its pseudonym developer Rob Halförd."

Rob has not confirmed,  and unfortunately despite many assumptions I don't know we can say 100%.

Update:

looks like we had a bad difficulty run,  the block was solved and chain resumed so no actual issues were encountered.

really? podc payment has only 14 confirmations over 8hrs..
and my friends have same problem

A few issues:
1. a single block took 5hrs to solve
2. a few blocks later it took 1.5hrs

Because of these two delays it will take a bit for the chain to re-set.  The average span for the last 205(1 day) is about 9 minutes.

This will level off, and the chain will work to get back to the 7min average, we may see faster blocks for a bit,   Currently they are ranging from 2min to 10minute.

Someone DMed in Telegram asking why her transaction is stuck. Looks like blockchain has not solved the next block for over 6 hours.

It's being looked at,  will have an update as soon as possible.

I agree with SVK Noko. It's obvious that the "wait time" needs to be improved. And yes of course the goal should be to have instant/immediate sync and payment if possible. Users/investors LOVE technology that is responsive and easy to use. Users/investors HATE technology that is difficult to use and requires a lot of patience to accomplish the goal.

Most of us aren't devs/programmers, so we can't provide specific instructions on how to fix it. However our job as users/investors is to give honest feedback so developers can develop the solutions.

What we need to work out is options.

Currently we're tied to a few things syncing  (CPID if using multiple projects,  Nightly Superblock, and stake balance/PODC update).

I believe WCG updates the web stats once a day?  This is another limiting factor...  unless someone can find a way to pull real-time stats.

It appears that our monthly budget is around 13.5MM BBP

With supporting 100 orphans @ $39/orphan/month, and a CURRENT value of $0.000391 - that means that about $10MM of the $13.5MM (or nearly 75%) of the monthly budget is already spoken for.

Now I don't want to drop the supported count any more than we have, but is it reasonable to think that we can keep making advancements on a development/PR budget of only 3.5MM BBP (or about $1400/month)? That seems like barely enough to make a dent in the development, much less the advertising. I'm...very concerned. Let's brainstorm, what can we do?

I agree we will cross that bridge when we get to it,  the last superblock (79950) funded just under 6.8mil BBP

This actually seems to be updating on biblepay-central.
https://biblepay-central.org/en/proposals/79950/

I'm not sure what the difference between your calculations and the current cost is,  I will try to find out.
I suspect it is due to the pre-payment from the cancelled sponsorships being applied to the remaining?

Also, a suggestion. Something that we used to do periodically was make a big deal about how much money had been donated to charity since inception - I think that's great PR. Can we put a running total on the homepage? One of those things that slowly increases (up until our planned for the month, and resets to actual cumulative amount after each superblock)?

We might also be able to consider a "virtual run / hike" or other virtual event and ask for sponsorships from people in the community, with the proceeds going to our orphans - I'm not sure if we need to be a straight up 501(c)3 for that to work though.

I agree,  we may have to wait a bit till Jaap gets back from vacation but I can see the benefit.

Thinking out loud ....

I don't think the timing is as big an issue as the confirmation things are working ok..

I'm thinking a web page/service,  compares data in semi-real time and gives you a status report.

Thoughts?   Would you use this,  and/or would it help adoption?

Hello Thesnat21, thanks for your active thesedays. i wonder dose Biblepay on vacation now ? Rob as leader of project, atleast he need appear to explain and inform new important update to miner and investor right ?

Rob is still around and active,  he is just taking a step back from the daily forum interactions.   Are you saying he should come in and confirm?

We're just offering some "front-line" support for the project.

Is getdifficulty pow or podc?

That is the PODC Difficulty

edit: adding a github issue so we can throw the POBH(POW) Difficulty in there as well.

Missed unbanked payment again last night.

I'm going to venture a guess that unbanked payment "fix" did not fix...

Daily superblock is more 25+ hours for 1 week now. Does PoW difficulty play a role in this?

The superblock happens ever 205 blocks.  If the 7 minute block time is completely accurate, then that is once ever 1435 minutes and there are 1440 minute in a day.

Looking at the explorer though it doesn't look like the difficulty has changed at all in the last 250 blocks.  Is this normal?!

The POW difficulty does change regularly, the standard "difficulty" field that the block explorer sees I believe is the superblock difficulty,  I will confirm.
our blockchain has a difficulty_POW field as well that exposes the POBH/POW (mining) difficulty.  This is reflected in the wallet (at the time i'm writing this it's just under 10k).

Can someone tell me if we still need to be on the BBP team to earn rewards?  And do we still have to do some rosetta work or can it be 100% WDC at this point?

Also, one suggestion for the website:  List the current wallet version and also put the version number in the name of the file!  Smiley

I agree the display was there prior to the revamp,  i'm not sure why it left.

Ive installed 1.6.6 no problems. Running now on linux
Hps same as before but not on block 21550 yet
Poolinfo1,info2,info3 appear empty and only if i change setgenerate true 8 / 16 does it knudge it
Is that necessary to unstuck it?

Is this meant for Biblepay? the most recent version is 1.1.5.9 and we are past block 79,000
