Oh wow, the second digit is no longer 4, it's already 5.

We should celebrate!

Sure! I'll go have a beer. Eventually... One of these days... Promise!

- Facebook and Google ending crypto ad ban
- Bakkt around the corner
- Nyse and Nasdaq interested in launching a crypto exchange
- football teams getting into crypto

But yes, Crypto is dead because a random guy who bought ATH in December said so.

Personally I really enjoyed the ad ban. It was mostly scams and shitty ICOs anyway...

Moral of the story: Let's stick with what we know how to do. Like predicting the price of Bitcoin... LOL

385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: September 27, 2018, 05:53:32 AM
hmmmm.....

as usual nothing of note on LTC development...used to be when the price tanked at least the LTC devs squeaked about something to get the price up!

(er, oops, last time they did anything of note that way it was the now 'defunct' and never to return supposed LTC debit card)

er maybe I should just let sleeping dogs lie with that as an example

brad

Do you read my replies? There are at least two LTC debit cards out there. Have been for some months. I've posted them here several times.

This is business as usual in crypto. The companies that get all the hype usually never come through. The quiet ones in the back make everything happen.

Despite being criticized by many that the Silver coin LTC is depended completely by BTC‘s price movement, it is one of the few with high gains in the last 24-hours. Smiley

it has also dumped more than btc in the last year in value % wise

i have a theory that people blow the alts first in bad times and they are the last to come back..and probably ltc is better than most as a rebound

but usually, before LTC rebounds, LTC foundation shows it is doing something in the down times..now they seem content to ride btc coat tails

that  is dangerous, because i think a lot of ltc's loss in value and such is due to BCH taking part of its place as silver to btc's gold...god i hate saying that

but it seems obvious scam that bch is

thus, back to my question, where is the development action one usually sees when LTC drops more than 50% ..zip..nada...at least last time we had the

'illusion' of an ltc debit card....hell, i just read LTC foundation does not support or update the LTC qt wallet anymore

not impressed...and I go 410 LTC I've been sitting on for 2 years

brad

The LTC Foundation hasn't been around for long enough for you to say "before LTC rebounds, LTC foundation shows it is doing something". It happened just once.

Litecoin is performing exactly like it has for the past five years.

The Foundation is there to promote LTC, not to be the only ones who develop. There is no such thing as official in crypto. They never released a line of code. Charlie has only recently become involved in development of LTC. During 2013-2017 it was Warren Togami who was the lead dev...

Today Circle and the CENTRE open source consortium introduced a service to tokenize US dollars and use those dollars over public blockchains on the internet: USD//Coin, also known as USDC. Individuals and institutions can enroll in this service to deposit US dollars from bank accounts, convert those dollars into tokens usable everywhere the internet reaches (subject to the token’s compliance controls), and redeem USDC tokens and cash out to bank accounts.

https://blog.circle.com/2018/09/26/introducing-usd-coin/

$USDC (USD//Coin) added to Poloniex!

Code:
bool shitHitTheFan = false;
List<StableCoin> stableCoins = new List<StableCoin>();
while (!shitHitTheFan)
{
    stableCoins.Add(new StableCoin());

    //TODO: check if shit has indeed hit the fan, set the shitHitTheFan flag accordingly
}

Is there any Litecoin Core wallet support? Where can I ask questions about its functions and bugs?
(Except litecointalk.io, because there is no possibility to register there.)

There is no 'official' support. But there's a bunch of places where you can ask specific questions you have:

- here
- https://web.telegram.org/#/im?p=@Litecoin
- https://discord.gg/AFkPpC2
- https://www.reddit.com/r/litecoin/

389  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: MyHashing - Georgia's Newest Hash Power Provider on: September 26, 2018, 08:31:00 AM
Public service announcement:

Anyone with basic math skills can figure out there is no way to make money using your service. Your 1TH contract at $100 will make $0.06 per day (the maintenance fee is subtracted). It will make you $2.5 until the end of the year. I assumed a modest 5% diff increase. After that the maintenance fee will be greater than the mining earnings. So you basically get $2.5 for a $100 investment. Wow, just wow...

Even if we assume no difficulty increase (highly unlikely), you will just barely break even by the end of the 5 year contract. So only if the difficulty stays at the current levels (hint: it won't) you get $100 for a $100.

Much much better to spend $100 and just buy BTC and HODL.

Browsing around on this forum, I have to wonder why one would bother with a mining ponzi these days. Seems like the hot new get rich quick scam is promoting nonsense ICOs by paying off shills to post fake reviews on reddit/telegram/facebook/twitter. Its so blatant and even institutionalized on this forum, that this is condoned just boggles my mind. It does remind me why I turned my back on this forum and it explains what Im seeing on the other places.

Yes, I had about a year away from here too, it gets to you after a while.
It was good timing, in hindsight, as I walked away from most everything else as well, then came back to "civilization" and my trusty paper wallet to find BTC was in five figures and the tabloid newspapers, so it was quite a logical thing to do to sell it. Didn't buy a yacht tho...

But yeah, I also came back to the tsunami of ICO's and airdrops and bounties and thought WTF?

Wow! 5 figures, aren't you planning on selling out? It cant really be avoided for sometime on getting jealous for those people who do sit in earlier. Most of them are filthy rich just like you.
When it comes to tsunami of ICO and airdrops/bounty then time do change everything but most of them are trash as of now compared on last years.
If you consider cloud mining a scam, or potentially harmful financial-wise, please continue reading!

Yes, you are absolutely right, there are "only" 20 million BTCs available for mining. But what about other altcoins whose potential skyrocketing growth is yet to occur?

Presently, mining requires strenuous time and effort, but also adept technical knowledge of mining hardware deployment and maintenance. That’s where MyHashing steps in with strong motivation to provide a simple yet secure cloud mining environment.

So far we have three mining facilities which are located across Georgia. Highly experienced teams of professionals ensure safety of the installation, testing, and maintenance of the equipment, and the delivery of the best results. We use hardware and other mining equipment from Bitfury and Bitmain.
We are constantly searching for low-cost electricity and machine friendly weather conditions to build new facilities.

When our platform launches we will be offering Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash mining contracts. Further down the line we may look into additional crypto currencies. All of our contracts will be signed for a 5 year period.
The packages on offer will be:

Gold – 100 USD – 1 TH/s

Platinum – 475 USD – 5 TH/s

Diamond – 1350 USD – 15 TH/s

Custom – Choose your desired hash rate between 1 TH/s and 1,000 TH/s

Naturally the more hash power you purchase from us, the cheaper the price per TH/s will be.
Our maintenance fee is 0.17 USD a day which will be deducted from your mined coins on a daily basis.

Security, stability and safety will be our main focus and something that we want our users to enjoy without having any concerns.

If you still that there are no legitimate cloud service providers out there, YOU ARE WRONG!

Our website is currently under construction, and will be available shortly.

1. This thread is dedicated to warn people about scams. Well it was, util it died... Smiley This is not the place to advertise your service. Just saying

is there ANY graph thats predicted at least 6 months ago, that gives a correct graph to the market?

i mean: i see so many "specialists" grabbing a pencil and flutter some lines on a graph, but afterwards its always easy. Now do it forwards and let the future proof you have your insights...
Maybe in the future we actually can act on a graph...

until now: even a monkey can predict flow, charts, and prices with similar results...

So why bother?

A: cheese

Make your choice...

i'll take cow, and second 94

Now that's a bullish choice if I ever saw one!  Cool

Hm?  So this makes the core developers less godly and more human, I suppose?  And, in your view, elevates the prestige of bcash developers?

No and no. The Core devs are just as human as they ever were. But perhaps the hubris of their acolytes may have been knocked down an appropriate peg or two.

(well, a person could hope...)

Keep those happy thoughts comming Wink

Nice bull run for today, i am sure legend traders will bag some good percentage in profits today. What is the actual reason for this bull surge? any idea?

Why does a rock roll down a hill? Because spacetime is bent!
