8221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deflationary Tokens on: May 27, 2020, 04:17:28 PM
On every transactions tokens get burned but be hold my friend that's all there is to that coin, nothing more than this deflationary feature, how will this coin be useful to the public? Does it makes sense to invest on a token or coin because it's a deflationary token? The answer is NO

They are not worthy to be invested. There are so many scam deflationary token and this idea is not needed by the community.

Ofc buying a coin just because it has a deflationary economy makes no sense. However, a good project may burn tokens so the total supply goes down over time.

Ethereum Casper MAY have a deflationary economy in the future, according to Vitalik Buterin in official Ethereum Github:

Quote
Because of the lack of high electricity consumption, there is not as much need to issue as many new coins in order to motivate participants to keep participating in the network. It may theoretically even be possible to have negative net issuance, where a portion of transaction fees is "burned" and so the supply goes down over time.
https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Proof-of-Stake-FAQ#what-are-the-benefits-of-proof-of-stake-as-opposed-to-proof-of-work

So, go buy ethereum if you think ethereum will ever reach PoS in ethereum 2.0 Wink
8222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Timing to Hodl tokens is very important. on: May 27, 2020, 04:12:00 PM
A lot people argue about if it is better to hodl on the long term or the short term neglecting the most important thing.
The timing with which you have to hodl your tokens or investment is very important, to ensure you do not rekt.

For every token, there is a time to hodl, and time not too, figure out the timing before investment.

I don't agree. Unless you are buying a pump and dump project with zero value.

Buy coins which may be worth siomething in the future because they have a good team and a real use case. Most of the projects doesn't even propose something like that... a good project (such as bitcoin) can be worth a lot in long term
8223  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger clothing + Nano X! on: May 27, 2020, 04:06:25 PM
Who would browse and shop for clothes of Ledger unless he or she is a crypto user. Grin
Anyone who has come in contact with Bitcoin have heard of "not your keys, not your coins". I see this as an unnecessary way of putting a tag on yourself that says I own Bitcoin, follow me home.

Yes, I think the same.

Wearing a cloth like this is the same as "I have a hardware wallet full of money in my house" lol it is dangerous in a place like brazil
8224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are afraid on investing to bitcoin? on: May 27, 2020, 02:42:42 PM
If you buy a bitcoin in the price of 9000$, yes it may drop, but we have clearly seen that this is what it does. It goes up and down. If you have 1 million dollars and buy 100BTC  (900.000$) then the only thing you have to do is wait. Because someday it will pass that number and you will have profit. Am I wrong?

Ofc you are wrong lol
You may lose it all. There are no guarantees. Although I believe that bitcoin price and adoption have a upward movement in there future, that's not the only possible outcome.

"all you have to do is wait" makes no sense. Investing in bitcoin is a smart bet, but it is a bet. There are no guarantees.
8225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger(and Trezor) hardware wallet owners: heads up | EDIT: (debunked) on: May 27, 2020, 01:37:02 PM
Even if they had delivered to me, it isn't. Strangers knowing that you own a bed is absolutely not comparable in terms of risk to strangers knowing that you own a hardware wallet.
yeah, certainly you have a point here.

But when I buy a bed and they deliver it to my house, walmart/etc share this data and many companies will have your data (phone, address, name ,email). While ledger (theoretically) don't, as they are "concerned" about privacy (unless if there is a data leak lol)...

Sadly, our situation is very complicated to protect our privacy...
8226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger(and Trezor) hardware wallet owners: heads up | EDIT: (debunked) on: May 27, 2020, 12:35:41 PM
We give our personal data to banks, financial institutions,  department stores such as Walmart, Amazon etc, government institutions and so oneverytime.

Those websites  openly sell and share our data with their partners , and nobody cares.
Some of us care. Some of us care enough to not give our personal information to any of these sites.

When i wrote that I remembered we chatted about it a few weeks ago...

But how can you avoid giving information to "any of these sites"?

You are a physician, right? Do you only receive payments in bitcoin? If you have a bank account, you gave your perfonal information to those sites.

If you ever bought something online, you gave your information to those sites.

Do you have a TV in your house? A bed? a refrigerator? Did you carry those itens personally in your back, or did you gave your personal information to those sites so they could deliver it in your house? If they delivered it to you, your situation is worse than ledger customers...

Unless you are an alien or someone like Jameson Loop, all your data is available to those companies.

I read this a few months ago (couldn't find the original, but this one is enough)
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/12/technology/how-to-disappear-surveillance-state.html

Mr. Lopp estimates that his efforts to disappear have cost him about $30,000.

His measures included renting a fake apartment to receive stuff from walmart, purchasing a tiny second property just for this purpose,Make up a fake name for casual interactions, Get a new phone number (do you have one for more than a year?), Create a new corporate identity, hiring a personal investigator to test his set up  and so on.

Do you have children which do not follow all those crazy stuff? Well, so all your privacy concerns are basic useless...

I think we need to separate idealism from reality.

Edit: I use adblock, firefox, I do not give personal data to any exchange or airdrop, I try to avoid google products (but i have some of them...) I think I am worried about privacy more than 99% of people, but there is a limit to this.

I gave my docs to the 2 exchanges that I use fiat/btc and 3-4 traditional stocks exchanges, I buy stuff online to deliver in my house and so on. I care about privacy, but I don't have secrets. Walmart need my address to deliver stuff in my house, for example.

8229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger(and Trezor) hardware wallet owners: heads up | EDIT: (debunked) on: May 26, 2020, 05:08:36 PM
There is too much fuzz about so small thing imo.

We give our personal data to banks, financial institutions,  department stores such as Walmart, Amazon etc, government institutions and so oneverytime.

Those websites  openly sell and share our data with their partners , and nobody cares.

This is why we receive marketing calls, advertisements in SMS an spam in our emails.

When a cryptocurrency related company have a rumored small leak, the world falls apart...

All registered users of the event are in the pre-registration list. And you can check it 👉  https://bit.ly/3c1aTL6
We did not find User643407/User784018. If you think it's a mistake - write to our support team (https://t.me/Betfury). Complete the rules of the event and catch a chance to win again! 🙃

It is so obvious that it is a mistake as you can clearly see. You asked me to post here and get a reward and the post is there.

I won't be repeting those steps countelss times in the hope you pay as promised at least once.

As I said, only 3 real users applied here, and you refused to pay them (paid only one after he complained).

BetFury admin did not find User643407/User784018 on the list! It means that you don't complete the rules of the event. Please be attentive! Wish you good luck in our events

You probably made a mistake as well.

8232  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 🏆BetFury EVENT 5.555 BTC 🏆| FREE 0.4mBTC 🤑 0.5 BTC in Video Rebus 🤑 (Update) on: May 26, 2020, 11:25:52 AM
I RECEIVED NOTHING EVEN I'VE BEE DONE ALL THE REQUIREMENTS !

I've also havent received anything.

Now I have a question - how to find out who are these 50 random users that receive BetFury awards? Where is the list? Or this was made just to attract attention?
And the text "+ get a Sign up bonus 0.02 mBTC for registration" is misleading. I haven't received Sign un bonus, and telegram bot says "Reward will be available after the launch to the platform." When this "after the launch" is planned to happen?

Hello! Proof of payment 👉 https://bit.ly/2XuT55x
We'll carefully check all users, who take part in all events. You might not be on the list because it formed yesterday. You have a chance to win again! 📝Write a comment on competition page and get your reward!

This is very strange. I didn't receive anything also.

There were 3 real user who posted here. Me, bakasabo and Danydee. All the others are newbies who just created their accounts.

You are not paying anyone. This is no proof of payment.

Those "payments" you made may be all to yourself.

I will be watching this carefully. You don't deserve a red trust yet, but you are very close to it.
8233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the trusted stablecoins to save money long-term? on: May 26, 2020, 02:55:54 AM
holding stable coins.?

Stable coin is just a loan with 0 interest rate. Why don't you buy government bonds or credit deposit from banks? You will have near 100% chance to receive your money back plus interest, at least 2-3% per year.
8234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any New coins that haven't pumped in their lifetime yet? on: May 26, 2020, 02:45:43 AM
Don't you think it would be more effective to look for some fundamentals about this project? You are basically looking for a random pump, which is very unlikely to be guessed....

There are still some opportunities in this ecosystem, but this is strategy is basically to gamble.
8235  Local / Brasil / Re: Situação dos GIFT CARDS no Brasil on: May 25, 2020, 06:51:34 PM

8236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miners are happy, while we suffer? on: May 24, 2020, 11:17:49 AM
Fees are high because volatility is too high. A lot of traders are sending bitcoin to and out exchanges... this always happens.

But you can still make transactions with low fees. I made a transaction recently with 10 sat/byte that was confirmed in a few hours. You just need to be patient.

Miners are not making a lot of money due to halving. Fees are just a small part of the reward:

look this block for example
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/block/0000000000000000000e64f2f8a06ffeb03cb4a597fdcb11f43ee9bf16decbc3

Block Reward
6.25000000 BTC
Fee Reward
0.13771274 BTC
8237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My balance does not appear help on: May 24, 2020, 11:07:53 AM
If the address shown in your wallet is different from the address containing 0.13 BCH, it's likely that you are opening a wrong wallet.

Also, note that BCH can addresses can be shown in two different formats. A BCH address can be in CASHADDR format and starts with q instead of 1,
So, 17rzJ7TSDcHryiWRqiuYPE6zLmKWHLadtr and qp95fakuewt0pz45sck5daj9lwzykw57j5a4nfws30 are same addresses.

If you are sure that you are opening a correct wallet but your balance is not shown, you can export your seed phrase and import it into Electron Cash.
This is the best solution for OP situation

If you have the 12 word, just do that.

The balance is there, as we can see in the address you showed us. Blockchain.info wallet balance  is not important (as it may be experiencing a bug or sync problems), what is important is what is registered in the blockchain.

To recover your funds, enter your 12 word in Electrum Cash wallet.

If  after using your words in Electrum Cash the balance is still zero, you don't have the private keys for that address and it doesnt belong to you.
8238  Local / Brasil / Re: Stackbit carteira de metal fabricada no Brasil on: May 23, 2020, 08:43:29 PM

8239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BTC] If long term most transactions happen on Lightning Network - HUGE RISK? on: May 23, 2020, 08:13:10 PM
The important thing to understand about Lightning is that when all transactions happen off-chain, miners don't generate fee revenue.

This is where you wrong. Not all transactions will happen off-chain. LN isn't forcing anyone to use it, and it doesn't directly affect the base layer, so people will still be using it.

Exactly. Transactions of high amounts will probably go directly on chain as they go now.

Additionally, the once the channel is closed, the total amount transacted in LN will be registered on chain as well.

Could you tell me - why am I wrong?

You are wrong because you decided to write a critique about something  before reading nearly anything about it....
