9021  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Important Warning Blockchain Email Hacker "BIoϲkϲhain Reϲeived" on: November 23, 2019, 05:51:46 PM
That is the cost of joining any random airdrop and inserting your email and social network any at shady company that offer worthless tokens for free. Wink

Hackers will be emailing phishing attempts to those emails all the time .
9022  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Ajuda com BLOCKCHAIN.INFO meus btc estão sumindo! on: November 23, 2019, 02:33:29 PM
CAro,

aconteceu exatamente a mesma coisa comigo. Eu tinha TODAS as configurações de segurança habilitadas na blockchain.info. Dupla autenticação, digital no celular, senha etc.

9023  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: new bitcoin segwit wallet for android with sweep on: November 23, 2019, 02:16:49 PM
hey guys
this is new bitcoin wallet that generates segwit address for bitcoin on google play
with exchange tab that sweeps really fast btc to other cryptocurrencies

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=info.mysecurewallet.wallet

enjoy  Wink

Segwit support is just an obligation. Nowadays a wallet that doesn't support segwit should be just completely ignored.
It is not an amazing or rare feature anymore....

Which exchange is this wallet integrated with? Couldn't find this information in the play store..
9024  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Black Friday 2019 on: November 23, 2019, 02:11:07 PM
I am not not sure what you mean by BTC price is 30% down. The black friday deals are mostly in USD and you just convert the usd to bitcoins to pay the amount. The bitcoin price really does not matter until we have only bitcoins and no fiat conversions.

So, when you are selling your bitcoin, bitcoin's price doesn't matter? That's an interesting perspective lol
I really would like to know where do those ideas come from....

So if you are paying 0.007 or 0.010  for a service, it really "does not matter"?

Tradingview offers up to 60% discount and it starts in 44 hours, so keep an eye out for that. I'm looking forward to buy their premium plan, which without discount costs $720 a year. In my opinion the best charting/tool site in the space, but it's admittedly kinda pricey, but that's exactly why I'm looking forward to their black friday sale.

That's absolutely crazy price. I see no reason to buy unless you are a professional trader or a professional writer in a website where you are about technical analysis.

As I am not neither, I can't even understand why it is worth..
9025  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Black Friday 2019 on: November 22, 2019, 06:01:20 PM
The problem with paying with Bitcoin right now is that Bitcoin's price is about 30% off... So we are not getting really good deals right now :/
9026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No, Bitcoin’s Circulating Supply is Not 18 Million on: November 22, 2019, 03:52:37 PM

Someday we might even have coins that are moving on the blockchain, but which are effectively lost and essentially out of circulation!

Ok this is very crazy. I read your topics about coinwitness and coinconvenants twice and I didn't get it lol. I will give a better reading today  as it really looks interesting.
They were particularly interesting to me because they were old articles, from2013.

Can you eli5 me about this?
If I understand correctly, after doing a soft fork nodes wouldn't check anymore if the rules were followed in your transaction, but if you did checked.
How could this lead to spending supposedly lost coins, without Private keys?
The real owner would have lost his funds , if he had the private keys and decided to spend them?
9027  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Black Friday 2019 on: November 22, 2019, 03:35:20 PM
You can check protonmail Black Friday, Nice discounts
Not officially announced, but codes already working

9028  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S Hypothetical Situation, Curious on the answers on: November 22, 2019, 02:23:53 PM
, and i'm curious what would happen if I navigated to the top right (on the edit account tab) and were to delete the address that held my coins.

would it be recoverable?

The only thing that will happen is that your address will be deleted from the program visualization interface

So if someone sees you using your computer, they will not see that balance. Additionally you cannot spend it using that software until you add that "account" again.

Don't worry. You can delete everything, reset device etc and you won't lose anything AS LONG AS YOU BACKED UP YOUR SEED.
9029  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Verify wallets before installing and using. Don't do this, you'll lose your fund on: November 22, 2019, 02:17:59 PM
This guide is more complicated and long than space shuttfle schematis/instruction Cheesy
Do we like it or not, people are too often technically illiterate or even worse, they don't care that much.
Faster the better with minimum effort.

So i hope it will help someone, but i like to verify files other ways than "official" requiring 10 steps.

I agree the guide is too long and complicated.
Personally I have never verified a pgp signature from a file. (I am almost shame to admit lol)

However, I feel safe enough just by downloading files from the official website (just check social media and see if the links from there matches the address you have). I always double check everything as well..  addresses on device , on the website, etc.
It is like a basic common sense, however few people do .

Nothing can save you if you don't manage how to do it safely.
No wallets, no Trezor, no Ledger Nano S, no exchanges.  Cheesy

Yes. You are much safer using a hardware wallet. However if you are careless, you will lose money.

For example, always check the address displayed in device LED visor before sending funds. Store your seed offline in a paper, etc..
9032  Other / Off-topic / Re: "cryptor" or "cryptoer" or something else? on: November 22, 2019, 12:15:09 PM

9035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Im done with this shit on: November 21, 2019, 04:51:01 PM
Dump dump dump. Its driving me crazy, and now that I think about it, why would bitcoin actually rise? I mean its not that it will ever get close to beating paypal, beating USD its just shit.
Only reason im still using bitcoin is for betting but that shit is making me lose because its going down so goddamn hard...

Bitcoin price increased about 200% this year, since January 1st.

Stop to gamble when buying bitcoin. Invest in it, long term. Don't put money you can't afford to lose.

You just bought it and you are crying the price is going down.. wake up man.
9036  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: November 21, 2019, 02:35:10 PM
You are missing the point. Google/Bing takes what they scrape and incorporates it into a publicly facing service. Ditto with pushshift.io. You didn't mention this, but ditto with LoyceV. Suchmoon on the other hand is not running a publicly facing service.

Maybe a better way of explaining the situation is like this: sites such as walletexplorer, and entities such as  Chainalysis, and others who analyze blockchain data to group transactions to be belonging to a single person/entity are using public information that anyone can look at, however they nonetheless attempting to harm the privacy of those who use Bitcoin. Their goal is to reduce the privacy of those who use Bitcoin. The business model of ChipMixer, the entity that is paying everyone in this thread to advertise for them, is to get people to pay/donate in exchange to be able to maintain their privacy while using Bitcoin. Obviously ChipMixer would not sponsor an entity such as Chainalysis to attempt to break the privacy of Bitcoin users.

I think this subject really deserves its own topic . Not about suchmoon x quickseller, but about analysis on public/private data.

Google Bing are not using only public data, they use private data as well (as your search history, email content, history of downloaded apps etc) , and they work with those data. This is completely different.

Services like wallet explorers are not harming users privacy imo. If you decided to publicize your personal data, anyone is free to work with this data. You should be worried about your privacy before  , not after you post it. If you care about it, use a mixer and wallet explorer can't harm you anymore. I believe that wallet explorer may be even good for Privacy services like chipmixer, as it shows your privacy leeks and points of failure.  It is better to know where your privacy is weak than to just ignore it.

The analysis wallet explorer does can be easily done by anyone who wants to investigate you. If you can investigate yourself for free, you know where and how they can find you. And you can work with that

Making data analysis on forum posts doesn't harm anyone's privacy imo as well.
9037  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Discussion on the origin of the Ivory Tower on: November 21, 2019, 12:35:38 PM
I didn't know about this Malaria history and ivory tower.

I know ivory tower was originally created to host philosophical discussions and religious discussions long ago.

Nowadays this term used for (useless) academic discussions.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivory_tower

I believe this board isn't fulfilling  its original proposal: more serious discussions.
It is now used for off topic discussions, mostly related to political or some other random discussion. It is interesting and I like this board, but I feel it lacks more discussions and more orientation.

There are more serious discussions boards here in this forum. Imo, technical discussion boards and even beginners and help have higher quality discussions.

I see some interesting discussions in offtopic and political boards as well that could fit here.
9038  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Profile Trust +0 / =0 / -0 on: November 21, 2019, 05:01:29 AM
Can someone please point to documentation concerning the trust field (i.e. the field that says "+0 / =0 / -0" for new profiles")

Basically, the first number is positive feedback (how many you have. The second for neutral and the third one for negative.

Only DT feedbacks (from default trust) count. You can create your own trust list if you don't like the default one, but it only affects your view.
9039  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ProtonMail black friday is on! on: November 20, 2019, 11:29:13 PM
Does anyone really know who is behind proton, its not a honey pot?
They seem pretty open about who they are and what they're doing: https://protonmail.com/about

Most of that information should be easily verifiable.

What is a "honey pot" company?
Like a scammer or something like that?

Certainly they aren't trying to scam anyone. THey may be behind schedule for some things like a calendar a proper bridge, but they are honest people working on a successful project.

1. Lock the thread. [Only open once you announce there is a space for new participants]

A campaign thread serve other purposes than blindly applying.
Already accepted members may decide to leave and say here, questions form participants may show up, important messages from the manager, suggestions from participants and so on.

Ofc Yahoo can lock the thread, but that's not what he and other managers usually do.
