You can see that this domain is clearly not blockchain.com It is very important to double check addresses of online wallets, exchanges, and even this forum (there are known phising sites taht are perfect clones of bitcointalk.org). Most important now is to block that sender and make a throw away e-mail for all those websites that you need to sign in. Don't share your personal email with any website, as your e-mail is a great vector of phising. |

I am not from US, but I know Coinbase is the most popular exchange there. I was able to transfer money from US to Bitstamp several times in the past, about 3 years ago. I never had problems with that exchange at the time. I don't know their situation now, but they are one of the oldest exchanges around and I never had any problems with them. |

I would question why you are importing keys from Electrum to blockchain.com though? Blockchain.com is a web wallet, and one of the worst in terms of security. There's also very few good reasons to still be using legacy addresses, and you will pay higher fees if you do.
The only advantage of legacy addresses is being able to sign messages that can be verified in every software. Certainly not OP situation... The question is, is it higher risk in importing one private key to online wallet or in mobile wallet?
When it comes to security, there is no big difference from other online wallets. I have account there for years with enabled 2FA (email), and I never had any problems. It's not always just a matter of what you use, but how you use it.
Mobiles are safer The problem with online wallets such as blockchain.com is that the keys are in their servers. Those can be hacked. Also, your email can be hacked, or their website may have a security flaw... there are more ways to be hacked. In a mobile wallet the private key is only in your device. Hacking your email or server or whatever won't leak your keys. Only because you were never hacked, doesn't mean you use it well. I also have a blockchain.com wallet for years and never had problems... but that might just be luck. |

This is just a file with a bunch of public addresses and the xpub key (a seed that can generate all of the public keys of a wallet). There is no need to worry about it. All those addresses are native segwit. },

Currencies are not only traded on forex markets. You trade your currency every time you buy a coffee or whatever, or even if you buy Bitcoin or stocks.
Additionally, in currencies order books can be viewed as extremely thick. If you buy your coffee, you don't set a limit order 2% below of the real price, but instead buy instantly at a value very close to the price, because you assume the price of these goods are fair and won't change during the day (there are exceptions to this rule, like hyperinflations, of course).
When you buy a coffee with bitcoin, that volume doesn't show up in coinmarketcap or whatever website. This reported volume is only for exchanges volume, this has nothing to do with blockchain transactions. All this volume that happens on-chain is not reported in the volume or liquidity we are talking about here. That is one of the main reasons why currencies are so stable and are seen often as a "safe haven". Only USD is considered really a safe haven, maybe euro. The rest of the 100 fiat currencies out there are really not a safe haven. The currency of my country just lost about 30% value against USD in this corona virus crisis. Bitcoin still can't really count with that advantage. If you sell >100 BTC often you already move the price. I strongly disagree with this, and all data provided by all websites like coinmarkecap shows exactly the opposite: We have a daily 46 billion usd volume, which is like 4,267,041 BTC daily!! 100 btc is nothing here, as we get new 3000 BTC everyday just from mining.
Those who want a "safe haven" status have to find other reasons, like its scarcity or the "stock-to-flow" theory, but these reasons in my opinion are not convincing enough to last long term and sustainably - altcoins show that even very "scarce" cryptocurrencies can erode completely.
So an increase of liquidity is still top priority for Bitcoin is important if it wants to become a safe haven in the same way than a fiat currency. (Gold, as I wrote, is completely another story because of its millenia-long tradition as value storage.)

Nassim Talem himself said that coronavirus was by no means a black swan event, and that he and others have predicted it long before it happened. And it wasn't even a hard prediction to make, China is responsible for multiple outbreaks already, and it will happen again, unless they seriously stop this wildlife meat trade, which they probably won't, as they have already reopened their wet markets. Thanks for sharing this article. I didn't know about it.. Anyway even if corona is or not a black swan, it could not be predicated by any trading algorithm. Real world events affect bitcoin price, this is why all ta fail in mid term imo. |

About your question. You probably got the private key from the wrong address. Are you sure you took the private key from the address with balance? Or are you using electrum SEED? Electrum seed is not compatible with blockchain.com seed. You will need to get the private keys of each address separately. Or the next big earthquake which may affect california in the next months or maybe 200 years? Or should this AI prepare for the situation while Trump get Alzheimer and made some shit? What I am saying is that the world cannot be predicted. And the world affects bitcoin price a lot (por positive and negative). Maybe a world war will be good for btc. Or it can be the end. Who knows? As you said, next 3-10 hours is ok to try to predict. But you can't do much about longer periods. This is not something I invented, this is an old discussion in traditional financial markets. I don't think that it's even comparable, come on. Gold can be stable for years and huge changes there are still very small ones if compared to Bitcoin. I don't think calling gold 'volatile' is correct in this context.

As others already said, Coinbase and Binance are a good choice.
If you encounter any problems related to your VISA or any other documents there, I will suggest Bitstamp. I used bitstamp a lot about 2 years ago. I made many SWIFT deposits there and never had any problems.

I think bitcoin is the best and the safer.
For long term, 10 years or so, bitcoin will probably be much more used and probably be worth much more.
Those altcoins are really risky, we don't know if ethereum will still exist in 5 years. What will happen to ethereum if vitalik get something like corona virus ? Lol

Bitcoin has no liquidity problems. Even if 95% is fake, 1 billion usd volume is pretty high. Do you need to sell more than 1billion usd in bitcoin per day? Ffs Saying that bitcoin cant be a safe haven because it lacks liquidity is just false. |
