People ask how to stop Nxt server. Look at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14981435/how-do-i-stop-jetty (Standard Distribution Usage part).

I have an idea.

We could split development among different people to speed things greatly.
...
R there any bounties for developers and tech support?
...

...
feel free to use the Project section @ nextcoin.org forums for organizing
https://nextcoin.org/index.php/board,6.0.html
- Nxt stakeholders really need to organize themselves.

opticalcarrier, could you make public moderated  topic at nextcoin.org dedicated to stakeholders discussions?

Only stakeholders (>1M) should post to that topic, all other posts should be deleted by moderator (if nobody wish to be a moderator, I can be) because of trolls.

All the stakeholders willing to participate at that topic need to put their stockholder's tokens into their forum signature.
That token will prove their stakes.

It is very easy to make the stakeholder's token:
1. Open your Nxt account;
2. Press small lilac key near your account numbers;
3. Type your nextcoin's forum name into "Website" field and press the button "Generate..". That's all.

CfB,

maybe it's a stupid question, but what happens if an account is unlocked for mining on a node that was hallmarked using another account's secret phrase? Say, people want to mine using one of the public nodes, and one public node is used for mining by quite a few people, they unlock, close their browser and go away, thinking their accounts mine now. Would they be able to mine that way or would that not work?

Seeing an orphan block at height 15459.

There is no connection between hallmarks and forging. People can forge on marked nodes.

CfB,

not to be a nuisance, but to further clarify. I think most people are still not 100% sure how this forging works, and your answers are extremely important.

Suppose, I set up a vps and unlock an account on it, close the browser and go away. It's still forging, right?

Suppose, other people access my vps's ip, unlock their account, close the browser and go away. Their account is also forging, correct? There is no limit on how many accounts can forge simultaneously and most importantly with their browser closed after unlocking the account on one node, is that true?

If you answer definitive YES to all those questions, then my understanding is correct, otherwise, please provide the caveats or conditions why this wouldn't work.

I understand, that it's best and most secure to set up NXT and run it on your localhost, but many people don't have their PCs switched on 24/7, so how are they supposed to forge in that case? They could set up a vps and forge there, but there is a chance someone else would connect to their node and forge on their vps too. Please provide clarifications. This info could later go into wiki.

Has anyone seen this fantastic Nxt video?

http://wideo.co/view/1302961386354824506-nxt

Nice vid!  Wideo makes making videos like that very easy, and the more we have, the better.  I say that semi-facetiously, since I've spent hours working on the wiki and forums this week, and would love to see even a small fraction of the 200K+ in donations Petrik got for this work.

I linked Petrik's video to the wiki.

UPDATE: Someone just dropped me 50K Nxt.  Really, really generous.  I'm going to turn around, though, and divvy it up between myself and a few other folks who have been working hard this week -- opticalcarrier, drexme, and pinarello.  Gonna spread the love, but thanks for sharing it, whoever you are.

This was very kind of you! received your donation!

Motivating me even more if possible

thank you all

when is Nxt going to be on exchanges like cryptsy or bter or stuff like that? or is there anybody working on the issue?
cos i have heard that dgex is barely functional and also, being in those bigger exchanges will clearly boost Nxt popularity.

AFAIK BTC-e.com is waiting for the source code released. Dunno about the others.

They r thinking it's a scam, so without source code they won't add it. But after source code release they still may decide NOT to add it.

DGEX is functioning well. Manually verifying and processing payments in a single man operation takes sometimes 24 hrs or so, usually a few minutes up to a few hours. More automation is on its way.

Deposits at DGEX seem to be coming in much faster now - it will be awesome when everything is fully automated.

glad to hear that. however, as i mentioned, being in more exchange will help to spread Nxt around and increase its popularity/adoption. Smiley
