1661  Economy / Speculation / Re: If we didnt had idiots blocking segwit we would be sittting on 4 figures by now on: December 30, 2016, 06:37:28 AM
The elegant solution is segwit precisely because it doesn't require a hard fork. There's nothing cool about a hard fork, it's the opposite of elegant. Also you are asking for things that don't make sense technically. Segwit is everything that's needed to fix transaction malleability and so on, and it will make the LN better and allow us to have Schnorr sigs and other cool stuff that anyone that isn't a troll or stupid would agree to add at a protocol level.

Clearly you know nothing about software development. Hard forks are always times more clean and elegant than soft forks. The only problem with hard forks is that nodes which fail to update are going to be left behind for sure. SegWit's soft fork is no better than a hard fork because old nodes won't understand segwit transactions and they will just ignore them. For that reason SegWit is even worse than a proper hard fork.

SegWit won't activate unless there is strong consensus reached. Guess what? An elegant hard fork can also be made in a way that it won't activate unless a strong consensus is reached. Then why we have a soft fork hack called SegWit in the first place? There is no good reason for that. It's just dumb. They propagate this "soft fork" idea as if it was any better than a hard fork just to find more acceptance. It's a clever marketing. Why do the Core devs need sneaky marketing? So many questions, I'd say they are doing foul play. My own writings have now made me realize that I hate SegWit even more than before.

I agree with this

I think segwit introduces more complexity to the system than its fixing and reversal will be  too difficult and dangerous to take the chance....

Thankfully there are other scaling offers on the table we can consider, including bu's gradual scaling approach  and the new solution from lead devs called "teechan"  definitely is worth considering before we do anything hasty like segwit

Well according to this article about "teechan" http://www.newsbtc.com/2016/12/25/teechan-can-potential-solution-bitcoin-scalability/, they are offering an easier scalability solution for the Bitcoin blockchain.

Now with this this will be very hard to choose on what to go on. Only one problem is with teechan, only Intel’s Skylake range of processors is equipped with Software Guard Extension, which makes it impractical until such solution becomes an industry standard, and this may be problem for implementing it in future.
1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The danger of the cyptocurrencies on: December 29, 2016, 12:07:59 PM
There is no danger in cryptocurrency, just some people or better to say governments are spreading irrational fear of it because they are afraid for their financial or maybe even political system. Cryptocurrencies offer progress and there is no harm in it. If everyone accepts their advantages it could be better for us all.
We can’t deny that crypto-currencies are used for some bad things, and are used by the wrong hands which gives them a bad reputation, some of the worthy currencies like bitcoin are being used by hackers and drug dealers for illegal actions , because bitcoin gives you total anonymity since it does not ask you for your id so a 10 year old kid could use it. And that what makes it dangerous.
You think people did not use fiat for bad things? For illegal activities?
Anything always have a bad side , fiat or bitcoin has it
It's doesn't mean you cannot use it for a good things and automatically categorized as a dangerous thing
Cryptocurrency provide a lot of breakthough in world financial system
We just cannot realize that yet for now.

Money just the word is bad if we look trough history, any type of money is bad can be manipulated and can be used for good or bad. That is same thing with crypto currencies all in general. They have good thing no one can denied it but also can be used for same thing as fiat so i would stick for it on 50-50 bases.
1663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: England Championship Prediction Thread... on: December 29, 2016, 09:42:56 AM
Two matches today here

Aston Villa - Leeds
Rotherham - Burton

Don't know how will end second game but first is good one former Premier League teams are playing once again, both team have good performance in last several games scoring 2 goals on matches so my bet goes on both teams to score. Don't believe that this game will end up with no goals.
1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Friendly Countries on: December 29, 2016, 09:31:49 AM
Philippines have the most users of bitcoin .

Or Chinese, read that lot of Philippines are using it. Some guy here wanted to open exchange there think that i read about it and that he was asking for advice.
But no matter we have many new bitcoin friendly countries every day and hope trend continues in new year
1665  Other / Meta / Re: [LEARN] BBCode Lessons & Tutorials on: December 29, 2016, 09:21:31 AM
Lesson 4: BBCode Drawing Basics lvl.I:

After almost 3 years of experience with BBCode signatures designs, I'm sure that if we want our signature to be highly compatible with different operating systems and web browsers we should use a characters in size 2pt while creating a BBCode image for a signature.

The best ASCII characters which I recommend to use for your BBCode images are: " ▀ ▄ █ ▌ ▐ ░ ▒ ▬ ▂ ▃ ▅ ▆ "
But mostly I use " █ " and always in a size 2pt. Which is most compatible for different web browsers and different operating systems.

Why I don't use 2px or 1pt or 1px?
If everyone will use Google Chrome, then it's pretty cool to use 2px, 1px or something smaller than 2pt. You can possibly get more details in your BBCode images.

Unfortunately the characters smaller than 2pt used in the BBCode signatures will looks stretchy or will shrink too much on different web browsers and operating systems which means that in reality the signature looks good for a smaller part of the visitors.

This is what was problem with my workout i was trying to create with 3, 4, or even with 5px, i have one question instead on px size you mostly use pt size, maybe this was error in my end i try many different sizes and always ended with not lining up and that was problem from this lesson.

I will implement this into my test signatures for future development and this was very good help.
1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: December 29, 2016, 09:00:37 AM
Litecoin will be here for long time but it wont be like is early days so good, it will be in top 10 coin always but he wont reach that price of 40 dollars again. High for next year in my option will be range 10-15 if this implementation with segwit comes with good end but if not then i expect that price goes in 2-3 dollars range and to stay in that field until next halving

1668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: December 28, 2016, 11:34:28 AM
Give or take we all spend money one way or another. Was is fiat or bitcoin we at the end spend it for something. Bigger issues is that sometimes you have bitcoin and you need cash fast takes days to serve all out, but this is something i hope it will be resolved in near future for all to pay/spend bitcoin/fiat not you with cash only. I just hope that i will live to see this happening.
1669  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another nice dip to feed whales or buy more on: December 28, 2016, 11:30:34 AM
We actually might touch 1000 tonight on some exchanges or perhaps tomorrow but this is good shame that some sell but for rest that have bought happy earnings, Expect that we see 1000 dollars in new year for sure after a long time. Cannot expect to see anything else.
1670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 28, 2016, 10:27:54 AM
This is very interesting Liverpool won game and they are now 6 point behind Chelsea today we will have also excellent match

Southampton - Tottenham will go here for under 2.5 goals, cuz game will be hard and maybe will end with no goals at all
1671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2017 and WHY !!! on: December 28, 2016, 09:50:38 AM
My speculation for maybe some good alt to invest

Antshares - with a successful crowdsale and release Antshares has a current marketcap of just over $7 million. Antshares team has had in developing partnerships in the short time since it was launched which makes me think that there is plenty of room to grow.

Have some other speculation for some coins but need to read first several thing, will post after i have something cuz list is huge but will go for only ones that are on same all list that i gather
1672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAME][LAUNCHED]famecoin - viral photo sharing on Blockchain with tippings. on: December 28, 2016, 07:19:24 AM
Price of famecoin is terrible , what you think in any future price going up or ..?

electronicash already answered your question:

I don't think the dev will either deliver the project intended too after all no one knew him and until someone publish his name here, he will not come here to depend himself and promise to deliver the platform at once. sooner we will all forget about famecoin.

The project can have the best potential actually, knowing that its the social media time andthat people are all in the social media sites sharing whatever happens in their lives and these includes photos.

This project however seem not pushing through. The next time we see someone or a dev team offering the same concept, lets ask for beta platform to ensure they are all in.

Well the app is not due out till the 2nd week of January so we shall see.

Dont think that app release will influence in any way for price change it will perhaps do little change but considering that most who participate here including me in avatar and articles, expected much more i mean on those who wear signature this is really disaster.

I hope for the ones that were in campaign that price will come to at least half of promised so that they can get some coins in wallet for effort at least.

1674  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the big whales are not cashing out? on: December 27, 2016, 09:00:59 AM
If a government tried to buy up a huge amount of Bitcoins, it seems like it would drive the price up. Also, there are many people that are probably just holding Bitcoins as a long term investment and won't sell anyway.
I think the governments are not going to buy bitcoin, they can only think about bitcoin that how to legalize it.
They will give opportunities to their people to trade bitcoin and use it as currency, if they really honest to bitcoin and want it as a global currency of the world.
You must be joking right? you think governments are giving their people free pass that easy on bitcoins? they are monitoring trades bigger than 1k+ bitcoins  and will take action to collect their tax money if needed rest assure.

a free pass to use & participate but not a tax free path. Most people will probably be happy to pay tax when they exchange sell. For others they may wish to obfuscate their activity. Others may hold and only sell when bitcoin reaches a price much higher than today, in which case they will head to the most bitcoin friendly jurisdiction. It is a blurry future in this regard, but if you hold 1000 btc and the price is 5k, it would be a no brainer to take up residency in a friendly country for the purpose of minimising your tax.

Every government monitor any transaction that is off the limit, is it bitcoin gold silver oil or something else, example is friend of mine he withdrawal more then 80K euros in bitcoin in two days they come to collect 35K tax for additional income, no matter if our government dont accept bitcoin as payment he got tax. But most whales that have been from start are on the big income from beginning they want to have more and more and for every day they have. Image the ones from start when price was nothing imagine how much they have now
1675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 27, 2016, 08:36:54 AM
Nice performance from United they won and seem they are on right track now, also Chelsea won 12 game in row this in all competitions so they are on goos road and they play good.

For today's match Liverpool - Stoke expect easy win on Liverpool, with maybe over 2.5 goals on the match
1676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Soccer Transfer Market 2016/2017 ! on: December 26, 2016, 01:25:39 PM
News seem like James Rodríguez will go to Chelsea but not now in summer transfers that was confirmed from players managers, also it will be trade seem like RM want Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, so after this is will only matter additional expenses cuz players value are not the same.

1680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Difference between Bitcoin and real money? on: December 26, 2016, 07:24:43 AM
I've discovered Bitcoin few days ago, but I am skeptical about few things, why would I invest money in Bitcoins at the end of the day,why would I convert money into Bitcoins?

You have it all backwards. Cheesy

Bitcoin is real money. And the only time I convert my money into fiat is when I need to pay a bill or purchase a consumable.

No one questioned that bitcoin is not real money but that is main difference you need to convert bitcoin to fiat to spend pay bill or buy something, mainly cuz bitcoin is not yet accepted that much as it should be when this come to happen then there will be no difference at all.
