You have 10 minutes to edit typing errors without showing you changed it. This is a feature, not a bug.

Can't Loyce just be made a mod already?
I wouldn't mind having my own nuke button indeed Cheesy
1643  Other / Meta / Re: Transfer Ownership Of Thread on: May 18, 2018, 08:39:05 PM
There are reasons we can not just lock the old thread, I can not really say them.
Now I'm curious. Do tell!

With sleeping late and getting up early, you'll have to move the time approximately 3 hours.
1645  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Buying old pre-2016 BTC adresses/PK for collection - 0.01 eth per address on: May 15, 2018, 02:10:26 PM
Are you looking for capital gain justifications for tax reasons?
1646  Other / Meta / Re: Fun with your DOB for SMF on: May 11, 2018, 04:42:53 PM
By the way I am yet to barn, 1002 years behind my birth  Cheesy
At the rate you're going, you'll be born in less than 3 years.

You could mine on them but that is up to you
Is mining allowed by the host? Google for instance doesn't allow it on their free cloud trials.
1648  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal: prevent account hack] A complete new login system for BitcoinTalk on: April 27, 2018, 04:19:54 PM
Understood that you are talking about my first option but how about the second option where you need to use the given text to sign the bitcoin address you registered the account.
It'll be the same as many other threads where people either lost their private key, or got it compromised.
1649  Other / Meta / Re: More than 1000 merit abusers found here (clearly motivated) - red trust time on: April 27, 2018, 03:53:45 AM
   - go through the merit file and simply checks for any direct exchange of merits between 2 users within 1 hour
I can't really view all on my phone, bit since I'm on your list, I can say with 100% certainty your method is at least inaccurate.
What you should do, is manually check all your positives and see if the merited posts don't deserve it.
1650  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum doesn't restore right wallet address on: April 24, 2018, 04:54:04 AM
If it's a Bech32 address then just add p2wpkh: in front of the private key.
Eg p2wpkh:KPrivateKey
Can you make a topic for this on this board? Many people will need this.
Google couldn't tell me this, and it's great information for segwit adoption.

I'd make the topic myself, but I don't want to steal your thunder.
1651  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: April 23, 2018, 04:30:05 PM
What if  a group of bounty hunters create a group somewhere else e.a. on facebook and they will use/exchange  their extra merit with each other? would that be possible also? if yes then their existing merit could have easily doubled? am i right?
They won't have that much smerit to begin with.
1652  Other / Meta / Re: Upper cap for posts to prevent people wasting their merits in famous topics ? on: April 20, 2018, 08:31:50 PM
I also think people leaving me merits is a waste, too, since I don't need them for ranking up.
Merit has another function than just ranking up: pointing out quality posts. I hope the forum will get a search function for posts with x merit some day, and when that happens, high ranking posts should show up too.

Disclaimer: Friday night lol.
1653  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk = Altcoin Forum? on: April 17, 2018, 08:42:48 AM
Just ignore those boards (easy fix):
I don't want to ignore them, for several reasons. But they make "unread posts" useless. Up to a year ago I used that to find interesting threads. Now I can't do that anymore.

It's like the opposite of the shit hitting the fan.
1655  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's Merit data analysis on: March 08, 2018, 04:43:40 PM
~
I can help you to do statistical analysis for your objectives if I can get datasets. I am not familiar (actually don't know how to get data from the forum). Raw dataset contains very little information. We need more variables to do analysis.  Grin
I'm currently too ill to do anything. What more data do you want?
1656  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Ratio on: March 05, 2018, 07:07:47 PM
Theymos published actual merit data, you can use that for accurate numbers per rank.
In fact, I'll add this to my to do list as I like the idea.
1657  Economy / Gambling / Re: Proving that my gambling script works. on: March 05, 2018, 10:01:00 AM
EV-, in the long run, holy shit. It is always profitable at the beginning.
The expected value is negative on all bets, whether you win or lose doesn't matter for this.
1658  Economy / Gambling / Re: Proving that my gambling script works. on: March 03, 2018, 02:00:52 PM
Like I said, many, many times... not everything has to be 100% math based. My aim is to make profit for people, and I am doing it. That is my end goal. Not to fit your stupid equations (which are not even relevant since you don't know the intricacies of how my script works)
alia:   You have heard of the expression that extra-ordinary claims require extra-ordinary proof?
I've seen this countless times: someone makes a claim that defies math, physics or logic, and rejects any argument without valid reason. Your can't argue against that, it's hopeless.

Gambling has a very simple and very basic rule of thumb, one that keeps the casino in profit: any player is more likely to lose everything than doubling his money. Winning doesn't mean it's likely to win again, no matter how hard you believe that.
